Pros: The free breakfast had with hard boiled eggs, yogurt, cereals, etc. The staff was nice and helpful! There are limited toilets and showers, but I didn't have a problem since not too many people seemed to be there. Only thing is that there's definitely not enough sinks. Showers were great and hot.

Pros: The staff was incredibly friendly, they gave me a towel for free because I was staying for so many nights.
Any time there was an issue it was solved immediately.
Met a lot of great people staying at the hostel.
The bar was low key and the beer/cider was relatively cheap. The pool table was great for something to do when everyone was winding down for bed.
The whole place was cleaned every day, the cleaning ladies were very nice.
It was cheap and close to a national railway station, an overground station, and a docklands light railway station. If you stay here, definitely get an oyster card!
I really enjoyed my stay!

Cons: The pictures are a little deceiving, the place is a little disheveled. The chairs and tables in the bar are in various states of falling apart.
The water had to be shut off for an hour in the middle of the day when there was a leak that went from the toilets upstairs, through a room, and down into the kitchen area. They felt really bad and gave those of us that were there a free beer. The situation was dealt with very quickly.
One morning the toilets were out of order upstairs, so you had to go downstairs. When I came back a couple hours later the situation was dealt with.
The neighborhood is a little bit of a trek from downtown London. You've got to take at least two trains to get to the real sight seeing stuff. It's also a little rough as a neighborhood, but I never had any issues staying there for 10 days.

Pros: Good loaction and very kind staff:). warm in the room and quiet.
Cons:

Pros:
Cons: If you stay in the room for 12 people, it's very risky. I heard so much coughing and sickly snoring during the night, it was scary. Plus when you are on the top of a triple bunk, every move below shakes the bed structure. I really didn't sleep. Plus it was quite hard to find, and I kept getting messages on my laptop that the wifi wasn't secure there.

Pros: The location was rather good, easy to get to by public transportation. The staff was very nice.
Cons: Even though the hostel was clean and the bathrooms good, the room could have been better in this department.

Pros: The property is set in its own walled boundary and is a nice traditional property, looking very lovely from the outside, with plenty of privacy once in the grounds. Not the easiest place to find but it was ok. One staff member was particularly helpful on arrival the other was not at all so. The TV Room was good and there was plenty of space to sit and relax outside of your room, however notices could have been placed to advertise the closing time of 23:00.

The TV Room was good and there was plenty of space to sit and relax outside of your room, however notices could have been placed to advertise the closing time of 23:00.
Cons: Queue at reception, 2 staff members, 1 serving other customers, 1 busy shopping for clothes on ASOS. He ignored me, acknowledging me only after several minutes, but made no offer to assist with my check-in, returning to his online shopping. Room was difficult to find, mattresses were thin plastic horrendous items that offer no comfort, pillow also thin and offering no support. Slept better on the ground whilst camping. Showers were dirty and cubicles were too small, with barely enough room to shower properly. Problem with the door on the first night, unable to access room, not resolved straight away, or next day, took a second complaint from me to get it fixed, almost 24 hrs after first reporting it. Bunkbeds were cheap and noisy and no space provided for belongings, no lockers available for secure storage either. Breakfast was cheap but limited, toast, processed cheese and ham, tea/coffee, cereal for £3.50. The "orange juice" turned out to be weak orange squash and the whole meal seemed poor value for money. Entire hostel had a cheap feel to it and it appeared as if no effort was made to ensure guests comfort or to provide a decent breakfast. For better value offer real juice, actual cheese slices and more choice of cereal. Or increase the price and offer a proper continental buffet as many other hostel companies - Wombats, St Christophers, A&O do. On a par with the worst hostel I've ever stayed at, in Cologne. Drugs were not allowed on the property (rightly so) but guests were talking about drug use in the TV room the first night, and my room smelled strongly of Marijuana on my final nights stay. It appears there is a tolerance toward drug use as long as it is done off the property. Ban on Alcohol seemed a little excessive and should be advertised before booking. Kitchen was cramped and dirty, with poor facilities.
6.3 Good
Pros: The female receptionists are mostly kind and helpful.
Cons: All the female receptionist are pretty courteous except the male ones (rude, condescending, argumentative, bad attitude and basically a total lack of costumer service).
7.0 Good
Pros: Hot water dispensed 24-7 in 'canteen' Places to sit & outdoor space .
Cons: Not much kitchen/self-catering / microwave space or options .Microwaves in 2 canteens would help.

Cons: staff sitting eating chicken n chips when I arrived and didn't stop No lights on narrow staircase I was on top floor. Room walls floors were filthy , bathroom the same with no curtain on window Shocking .Lady at reception this morning when checking out did apologise for the faulty lock at least
4.2 Okay
Pros: The staff were friendly and showed us to our room. We had clean bed linen and a towel. Tea, coffee, sugar, soap and a roll of loo paper were provided.
Cons: Black mould all over the bathroom walls, ceiling and in the shower as well as a lipstick kiss mark left by a previous patron. The toilet is loose so when you sit down it rocks. The shower head is broken and hanging off the wall, I'm not sure how one would manage if they were brave enought to place their bare feet on the mouldy shower floor. The walls were dirty with signs of several hand prints and finger marks throughout from the main entry doors and reception door all the way down the passage which is also full of broken tiles and in a general state of disrepair. The room smoke detecror was hanging from the ceiling by its cable and there was a broken window in our room pulled closed and half locked open with toilet paper stuffed into the gaps I assume to stop the noise and breeze. There was also constant noise throuout the night and early hours of the morning meaning what little sleep we had was not restful!
