9.2 Excellent
Pros: Staff were very polite and obliging. Love the hotel library! Beds were very comfortable and the room was kept sparkling clean and very welcoming. The room is very elegantly designed with dark hardwood floors. Staff paid attention to detail...even lit candles for us.
Cons: Hot water wasn’t too hot and had to have a pillowcase changed.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The fact that they took care of the very little details. They had a "welcome back" tray with the welcoming amenities. Very good breakfast, and my mother in law loved the hotel as it was sparkly clean.
Cons: A bit noisy as we were facing the lagoon (so the door was facing the street). The rest were very good.
7.5 Good
Pros: Good with wide options.
Cons: None
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is very clean and nice smelly, and will staff good services. Location hotel in mind town
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location. Very helpful and Friendly staff. Nice room.
Cons: The high tea was over rated and too expensive. There are many hawkers and food outlets nearby and I strongly suggest you have your meals outside than in the hotel.
7.9 Good
Pros: The surrounding environment, staff friendliness, and cleaniness of the place.
Cons: N/A, just one comment. U hv a brown booklet on the service offerings, facilities and what guess can do at Casa Del Rio which is nicely done. Unfortunately it was left on the shelf and no one saw it. I happen to be curious about the book and read it the next day only to find out there are lots of to do in the hotel.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is charming The infinity pool The location near the center and along the river The room was big and clean with an oldfashion touch The staff is very friendly and helpfull The check-in procedure is relaxing Very nice place

6.7 Good
Pros: Room deco
Cons: Old construction. Small size. Facilities small.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The hotel theme is fantastic
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast with good variety and tasty. Like the service of delivering the eggs/omelette to our table at the Egg Station. Very good service from the staff with comfortable and cosy room.
Cons: The noise when bath tub is turned on in the room. Can also hear the noise if next room turned on the tap for bath tub.
6.7 Good
Pros: Breakfast decent. And nice of them to put a bolster with a cover that says "Happy Birthday" on the bed and some red drapes on the door entrance. Though a little impersonal was the feeling.
Cons: The drainage system in room is noisy and the taps leak. Needs to keep closing tight.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The public spaces were warm and welcoming, the room was comfortable and well appointed, and the people were warm and friendly. We had a wonderful stay, right on the river and near the town center but in a quieter location. From the yummy breakfast to the bedtime sweet, service was thoughtful throughout our stay. Highly recommend.
Cons: There was nothing to dislike.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful colonial-style hotel - the colonial design is noticable in even the smallest detail. very convenient and nice location in Melaka - 15min walk away from Jonker street, but skipping the bad traffic on this location too. Staff was very professional and friendly
Cons: nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Second time to visit and was still so cozy and authentic.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Hotel is beautifully decorated. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Staff are very friendly and attentive.
Cons: N/A
6.7 Good
Pros: The infrastructure is charming. The hotel location is away from crowded places. The bar staff are great in service.
Cons: I only stay in this hotel (8 times in 5 years) but I have not been back for 2 years. I like to bring my overseas hospitals’s friends here to share the best of Malacca. This trip, I paid for 5 rooms but I am disappointed in a few areas: 1. Reception. The staff were not as warm and personable as before. There was only 1 older staff that I recognised. A malay lady that is slightly plumbish. There was some arrangement to be requested for my friends. We are all friends, except for husband and I. Hotel has only 2 twin rooms, the rest are all King Size beds. In the midst of arrangement, this staff displayed her impatience and served without a smile. I want to state that this is professional. I decided not to highlight at that point as I am amongst friends. 2. Tea service with kueh. The last good impression I have of hotel has always been cold refreshing towels, hot tea and nonya kueh. I wish to let you know that 6 guests had cold towels. As main host and a few friends, we did not. Also, I have informed my friends on tea service. We were not given any until I approached front desk at 6.30pm. I was asked a male staff “Choo”: “really, u were not given?”. Tea set was in room when we returned from dinner at 11pm. 3. Breakfast. We have stayed only in this hotel. Your breakfast spread needs major review. It has been nasi lemak as main draw but it is really not good. I am of the view that this hotel has lost the soul of serving. I will consider moving my guests to another luxury boutique hotel.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The rooms were excellent, large and well furnished. The staff was really really friendly, always trying to help. We took the complementary historic guided tour hosted by a hotel employee and it was the highlight of our time in Melacca, it is a great initiative. Breakfast was also great, with plenty of variety and an a la carte section which is fantastic . We tried the spa and we found it great value for money , an amazing experience
Cons: Internet connection was a bit slow

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Easy access to Malacca places of attraction since hotel located at Banda Hilir. It only take like 5 to 15 minute travelling by car depending on location. Hotel is super clean and the reception staff by the name Cass is so friendly and very helpful. If this your 1st time at Malacca she definitely can give you good advise. Other staff as well very warm and make you feel welcomed. It worth the stay here.
Cons: Limited parking space. Hotel opposite and beside 2 school so if you are travelling during school days please observe your time it can be quite jammed during this hour as some parents just park infront hotel while waiting for children. There is no breakfast provided at the moment so you need to look for breakfast but shouldn't be problem as area surrounding with good food places.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Convenient place, walking distance from major malls. Staff were very friendly and helpful!! (thumbs up for the extra mile to get our request!) Room was spacious, and the apartment has 2 toilets (usually 1 apartment with 2 rooms comes with only 1 toilet and we have to take turns). Overall a good experience.
Cons: The floor was not swept clean as we can feel some particles when we walk around the room.

With a stay at Ringo's Foyer Guest House - Hostel in Malacca City, you'll be just steps from Jonker Street Night Market and 13 minutes by foot from St Paul's Church. Featured amenities include luggage storage, laundry facilities, and a library.
7.5 Good
Pros: Cheap beer
Cons: For the price, place should be upgraded
8.3 Excellent
Pros: It's a great hostel with sleeping boxes, extremely friendly owner, beautiful rooftop and great breakfast! It's also easy to socialize in case you travel alone. Thumbs up, I hope I can come back one day ;)
Cons: There is nothing I didn't like.
6.3 Good
Pros: Breakfast included, and it was good. The vibe at the hostel is really cool, and is easy to make new friends in the rooftop. They do bike tour every day at 6.15pm, we visit the floating mosque at sunset time (beautiful). Party hostel with few volunteers living in, but not noisy at all.
Cons: They should wash the blankets, all of them were stinky. Mattress is worst than sleeping in the floor, probably had 25 or more years.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was great! Very well run by Howard and the volunteers, Carolina, Ryan, Claire, Lara, Eugene, Matt and others (sorry if I didn’t name you but you were all fabulous) were so welcoming and lots of fun too! Special place in Malacca! Wouldn’t solo travel anywhere else!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The staff helpful
Cons: There was nothing I didn’t like
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Everything! First of all at least two cleaners we're going around every day, the place was clean so that's massively comforting. The showers and toilets always clean too. When we arrived late, later than expected, the owner Howard was not only super smiley at 1am, he was also insistent on giving us a tour around the whole hostel before showing us to bed. Although we booked for two beds, he gave us a double in the dorm. Which I’d highly recommend if you're a couple! All the staff and volunteers we're super friendly, we got along with them all so well! They took us to places for dinner and we're on hand to help us with anything we needed. The rooftop was cool, we spent many sociable evenings up there. Also during the day we even painted on one of the walls - awesome. Location is within walking distance to everything you need, we also enjoyed the bike tour to the floating mosque from the hostel. Howard even organised for us to visit his friends tattoo studio and for my partner to have a lesson (as he's learning), he really went out of his way to ensure we were having the best possible time we could from start to finish. The TV room, ‘the library’ was cool too, to chill out and watch a film or even play guitars! The breakfast was lovely, although as we stayed up late on the rooftop socialising every night, we only had it a couple of times. Really not much to fault about Ringo’s, possibly the best hostel we’ve stayed in on our travels and can only wish to visit again. If you visit, which you should, try keep Eugene up all night - shouldn’t be too difficult. See you again sometime guys :)
Cons: Only comment I can make, which is so so minor, is that the showers are located in a slightly awkward position within the cubicle. Didn’t really affect our stay though, just maybe something to note!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Pods in the dorm are lovely! So quiet and comfy. Lots of clean bathrooms, never had an issue with them being all in use. Great rooftop chill area! It's definately a good place to stay for solo travelers!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Never judge the outside of the building until you walk in ! Ringos was lovely !!!
Cons: It took us a bit more time to find Ringos. The Sign maybe needs to be freshly painted or bigger juuuust so we can see it !!! But amazing nonerheless
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Location was excellent. Located 2-4 minutes walk from Jonker Street. Literally located a street behind Jonker Street. Check in was a swift too. Guy named Matt who checked us in was super friendly and easy going. Pretty basic sleeping dorm. Bed, showers, open-air rooftop. Street parking is available but you'd have to pay. All in all, was excellent.
Cons: None.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Good location. Nice staff. Had a very nice rooftop area. Owner was a very pleasant chap!
Cons: Wifi was shockingly bad. The bed cubbys got very hot. Air con gets turned off in the room at 10am. The cleaner cleaned the bathroom area right as everyone was trying to get ready to check out around 10am & didn’t let anyone come in. Timing wise that was a very awkward time to clean when everyone trying to shower/brush teeth.

Cons: The staff was not helpful and parking was not labelled properly
6.3 Good
Pros: Valet... Multiple entry
Cons: Breakfast was below expectation.. Check it at 1pm - room book unavailable but higher floors is available at an additional price... Hilton honors point not extended to me cause I book in through booking.com
7.9 Good
Pros: Room space
Cons: Using wifi need to pay extra
5.8 Okay
Pros: Spacious room, friendly staff.
Cons: The room has a bad smell. The bed is too soft, causing back pain. The electric kettle is missing. The shower and toilet door has got sharp edges, not safe, can cause injury if not careful.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Love the buffet selections for Lunch and during breakfast at Makan Kitchen. Restaurant Staff were all very attentive and trying very best to accommodate every guests request.
Cons: My room. My room initially was booked for Twin Deluxe guest room and requested for room with bathtub, I was told they don’t have bathtub available for Deluxe Twin, then I decided to upgrade my room to king. while confirming the reservation I only need to pay additional RM50 for the upgrade which is only need to pay RM800+ ,However I ended up paying about RM1k upon arrival. And the room given was not up to my expectations, it was facing the other building. I have called the reception but was waiting for quite a while for them to return my call , since my daughter was hungry we decided to leave the room and expected someone will drop us a message , but negative . I think the team really need to hands-on on resolving guest issues immediately. And another thing is, hskp needs to to be more details in terms of cleaning guest rooms. Dirty tea spoon found on the tray.
7.5 Good
Pros: It’s new & well-kept, the rooms are clean & the staff for the most part, are sweet. They were accommodating & happened to have my room early and let me check in which I really appreciated. I enjoyed that it was peaceful & found the pool area to be a nice spot. There’s not a lot going on at the connecting mall but there is a 7 Eleven, thankfully. On the whole, really happy with the stay & found it a serene, clean & comfortable space to be. Will definitely be back if ever in Melaka again.
Cons: - The service can be patchy. Eg I felt the check-in staff on the first day a little smug. Also little things, like: “Are you a Hilton Rewards member?” “No.” “Ok then your room excludes wifi & you’ll have to pay for that separately.” Perhaps a kinder, hospitable way to phrase it would be, “If you sign up as a HH member, you can enjoy complimentary wifi for the duration of your stay.” Perhaps it was all in the delivery & tone. - If you’re having an a la carte breakfast (and made that request known), one would expect the server to walk you to your table with a menu in hand & not leave as if you’re somehow magically going to know what you want. They left & I had to find them for the menu on two different days. They’re all very sweet but need to finesse things with a bit more training so as to anticipate guests’ needs in advance. On the whole I appreciated their good natured personalities & that would be my only piece of feedback to highlight. - Their interpretation of Swiss Bircher muesli is actually oatmeal/porridge with fruit, sans the lemon-infused Apple slices. Perhaps editing this in the menu for the breakfast area would save in any miscommunication.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The room was quite spacious. We were given a very nice city view plus partially sea view. We stayed for two nights .
Cons: The distance from the city centre was quite far. The car parking eas always full and need to be shared with Hatten Place.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very comfortable bed and variety choices of breakfast.
Cons: Lobby located at 12th.floor instead of ground floor. A bit confusing as there are also a mall and another hotel.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The cleanliness & room service
Cons: Breakfast spread . The staff must be able to anticipate that the roti canai is finishing so they should take out the dough much earlier .The Indian food vadai & idili, score 4 out of 10 Your fresh juicer needs thoroughly cleaning . Overall , PIC of food & beverages needs more motivation . Attending staff below average energy level . Supervisor should never reprimand staff in front of guests
7.5 Good
Pros: Room was spacious and clean. The bed was comfy, breakfast was yummy..
Cons: Was very disappointed that sauna was out of service and steam room light was faulty. Was looking forward to a good sauna / steam session but got none of it. What a bummer.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything from the room, facilities and the cleanliness that truly worth the money.
Cons: The view from my room's window as my room is facing the shop lots beside.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff. Clean rooms until I can give 5 stars for that.
Cons: Swimming pool water was Dirty. Sauna room was not switched on for Guest. Only when I ask then they switched on . It takes more then 40 minutes to get ready. Steam room was the same to. And the steam room was a horrible thing. The room was dark and without light. Entrance auto door was slow to death.
4.6 Okay
Pros: Family room was spacious. Fitted well our families with two kids each. Security Guard was very nice.
Cons: Only one card key allowed per room, which is highly inconvenient. Loss of room key is charged at MYR 20. Other hotels I have visited don’t charge for extra keys and certainly not for the loss of the room key (which is just an ordinary electronic card key). Aircons in three of the four rooms were not working well. Took 2 hours for room to cool down. We had to rely on our own fans to put the children to bed. Location was indeed a 15-minute walk to Mahkota Parade but the walk was not stroller-friendly. Most times we had to push the strollers on the roads, alongside the heavy traffic. The walk was hot, dusty and quite unsafe. Breakfast was poor. Western food was unpalatable. Asian food was so-so. Crowded and cramped, chairs were knocking into other tables’ chairs.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The room is spacious. Even the bathroom is spacious. Good location. Most of the point of attraction is within walking distance.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The spacious, cleanliness & comfort of the room and good breakfast.

When i asked why only 1 staff manning the counter she said her colleague is on her break. The Management should look into this as more staff should be at the checkin & checkout counters during peak time and the staff should take their breaks off peak time.
Cons: During checkin and checkout.

To truly reflect its harmony status, it is a diversified place of various settlements -Indian settlement (234 years old Sri Poyyatha Vinayagar Moorthi temple (1781), Malay settlement (267 years old Kampung Kling mosque (1748) and Chinese settlement (370 years old Cheng Hoon Teng temple (1645) on the same street within 1 to 2 minutes walking distance. Not to leave out the European settlement nearby (504 Years A Famosa Fortress (1511), Christ Church (1753), Stadthuys (1650). Our hotel is an old but well maintained building within the Dutch Settlement area (trace back to year 1611) with unique 200 feet long, thick wall and underground sewerage pipes. It has witnessed the history of Malacca Empire and the modern world. Although it has been refurbished, renovated and re-renovated, yet and surprisingly, it was a lovely home, a trade centre, a factory before it was turned into a hotel. Built with 3 air well areas, you can enjoy any of the hotel rooms (with windows) which are air conditioned and fan equipped. Comfortable duvet, pillows and bed will embrace you upon your check in. Free wifi is also available. A variety of breakfast will be served on each different day while American breakfast is always available upon request. 24 hours 7 days a week of free flow of coffee, tea, RO water, milk, juice, cereals and biscuits are ready to serve you at anytime even at midnight or in the wee hours. Outside the hotel, you will see a different world of modern marvel with delicious nyonya and local food such as cendol or durian puff at famous Jonker Street aka Chinatown (next to Harmony street) and world of ancient art with museums and art galleries at Heeren Street (next to Jonker street). Let’s also enjoy the thrill of visiting the old A Famosa fortress, Stadthuys, ruins of St Paul’s church (1521), Queen Elizeberth fountain or enjoy and stop by at modern Hard Rock Café or the Geographer Café for a drink. All within 5 minutes walking distance from this strategically located hotel. So....Let’s relax and enjoy, refresh and replenish!

Pros: The staff was very friendly and helpful, the location is perfect. We could paint in the walls of the hostel to leave a memory. The owners were very nice and went to buy colours and all.
Cons: The couple's room without window and fan is too hot. We had to upgrade the second night to a room with air con and windows cause whats the point on staying next to the river and not see it from your room. The breakfast is very basic but we are used to that in this kind of hostel and we are not that picky. The bath towels are too small and thin

Pros: The place is really cozy and i feel warm there. The place is nice as it is near the river and the view is beautiful at night.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Clean room and beds, good lighting and air-conditioning.

5.0 Okay
Pros: Good location.
Cons: Toilet is dirty and some light is not working.
6.7 Good
Pros: the beds were quite new and towels, hairdryer, kettle were provided. There was also a water cooler upstairs for us to refill our bottles (as kettle was dirty to use). The staff were friendly and helpful, and we also managed to leave our bagguage at the luggage room after we checked out. The hotel location was also near the places I wanted to go (dataran & mahkota)
Cons: The toilet was alittle smaller than expected and there was this ‘card’ that stated the channels that you can watch on tv but when I tuned to the channels it stated that they weren’t in ‘my’ subscription (tho I didn’t rly stay at this place just for the tv channels, but was alil disappointed~)
6.3 Good
Pros: Location is quite good, not too far, still at walking distances from the town centre, very close to Mahkota Medical Centre as a good hotel for people wanting to do Medical Check Up at this hospital. A clean and modern room, quiet and OK.
Cons: This was the bad experience. The hotel charged me a Refundable DEPOSIT using my Credit Card. They said that the deposit charge was "open charge" and will be refunded when I do check out. What had happened was the front staff said they have refunded me when I checked out, and she said the money now is the issue between me and the banks, however I never received my money yet since I left the hotel 14 days ago. So, the first issue, how do I know which one the dishonest party, the hotel, or the banks, since I have not received my money back. Secondly, instead charging using credit card, they can nicely ask guests to pay the deposit by cash (it is only MYR 50) as the other option, and pay back in cash when the guest check out. So, this is the "grey area" of not refunding the money that should be back to the owner, because of using complicated credit card rules, charge first, then refunded back through two banks involvements (Malaysia and NZ Bank), and incured two steps of exchange rates conversion, unacceptable practice, as you guests are not Malaysian residents using solely MYR.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Jogger services nice And room seems good
Cons: Keep hearing sound from behind room
