We liked the refurnished rooms, very clean and beutiful. The continental breakfast was very good and the service at the breakfast room very good! The location near Earls Court Underground is very convenient. I tryed to get in contact through e-mail in beforehand to see if I could have a large room but I didnt get any answer from the hotel. If you are easily disturbed by noice you should ask for a room on the frontside to the street, because on the backside you hear the trains coming and going. For us it was no problem, but it could be for other persons.
decent staffs and breakfast, very mordern probably refurnbished recently... a good location near the station as well... room and bathroom are quite small, quite noisy because it was near the station and close to roads
Staff lovely. Hotel bedrooms way too hot and back bedrooms very noisy. Windows would benefit from double glazing keeping outdoor noise down and perhaps enabling heating to be turned down
the location was suitable for my needs, the hotel staff very kind my room was too small
Very pleasant hotel and staff
We were in the apartment part of the Mayflower. We had booked an efficiency room and they gave us a free upgrade to a one-bedroom, which was great! It was located very near tube station in a nice area.
The room was very small, but entirely functional. As I was on my own, it exactly met with my requirements. Quite a lot of night time traffic.
Very good location in London.Efficient reception staff . When I arrived I got the 4 W appartment - a nightmare.Smelly, messy, cold, no telephone, bad TV, dirty cups on the cupboard..etc ..Then, after complaints they changed me to a nicer one - and I was happy - nice reception staff. So whatever you do , stay away from 4W ! (Breakfast- very basic and lack of space)
The room was beautifully presented but the double bed was two beds pushed together which resulted in a deep groove between the two beds. So it wasn't as comfortable as you'd expect
second time that i overnight there, this time i got an apartment that it is quite nice even if it is in the basement. not so much to say. fair hotel, they have to do something for the breakfast room there is not space to pass true tables
The staff was excellent -- very accomodating. The room decor was pleasing and the location was great (close to a tube station, and lots of restaurants and pubs in the immediate area). Noise from the underground trains kept us awake when we stayed in a room at the back of the hotel, but staff were happy to switch us to a room at the front of the hotel, which was much quieter.
Great Location near to metro stations Bayswater and Queenway, perfect for sightseeing. The street is full of restaurants and shops. Very expensive for value! Just for sleep! The hotel was razonnable clean except the curtains that need to be washed as fast as possible. The walls room were in bad conditions because guest don´t take care and the room was so small that the luggage went against the walls all the time.At the first night I have to wait more then 10min to have hot water and I had to call the girl of the reception to turn on the shower and the heater. The worst thing was after the check-out that I have to pay 1 pound for each bag in the luggage room!!!!Unbelivable!!!
the room had wooden floor and was bright, the service was friendly and fine in terms of ekstra towels ect. great location to the tubes boring breakfast with cold toast and the room could use a decent cleaning and a new madras
location / wifi no freeview tv despite advertising the fact that they had it
locality for tube to central london very noisy from street untill 2am as above eateries/bar also the actual rooms flooring was cheap chipped laminate wood and so awake at 6am when above us awoke, definately wont stay there again.
There was no best things, the reception staff was angry and not friendly.
The area it was in. Dirty rooms, staff could speak basic english, English breakfast was toast and ceareal, the water suply was off for nearly 48 hours.
Location near Tube
Location small bathroom, early breakfast
Noisy - could hear the traffic and other street noises.
nothing it's more a youth hostel then a hotel. The tab only gives cold water, the towel is the size of an 'kleenex', the shower is too hot to use? Rooms are very noisy on street side. Small rooms. Dirty
the location of the hotel was perfect -the staff were nice the room appeared poor, old and small but was functional
I really liked the staff; they were excellent. And the breakfast was amazing. Also, the location was fantastic. The room was small, but really it was all I needed.
Efficient check-in,great location and excellent breakfast service.
Excellent English breakfast, friendly reception
The location is superb, right by Oxford Street. The room was pretty small but I've seen smaller. The breakfast is only served until 9 o'clock and I actually never managed to be ready in time ;-) Also you have to be out of your room at 10.30 on the day of departure which I think is rather early.
Wonderful staff, great location, superb breakfast. This hotel is exactly where you want to be in London, 20metres from Hide Park at the top of Oxford Street, excellent. The room was small and in need of a bit of TLC, it was clean but not well decorated.
The breakfast was very nice!
the hotel is 5 min walking to oxford street and marble arch tube station 1- The phone was not working when i arrived and took 24 hours to fix it. 2- The safe was not working and they could not fix it. 3- The level room cleaning is below average.
it was very clean size and layout of my room
I appreciated the value, the courtesy, the excellent breakfast and the room amenities. There was no elevator.
Clean and convenient as it is located close to the underground tube station.Good breakfast.
close to underground for the west end.good price.
The very best reception in London!!! No complaints at all.
The fact that the staff was so friendly and so very helpful. A girl, Leila, at the front desk went out of her way to help me with my luggage. This was so much appreciated. No, not really.
Staff very friendly and helpful. Room was what I expected from the guest reviews on the website. Nice hot showers.
it was in a central place near the metro station very easy to reach it. the window did not close well. I should put the towel at the gap of the window to stop the cold wind coming in. I do not know if it is a system of british people or of the hotel to sleep with the windows half opened but I really had 3 cold nights.
that the room was clean i feltc cold with no heating, noisy at the ealy morning
Cardiff hotel perfectly suits “Bad and breakfast” definition. You have a decent breakfast and go to London, returning late just to have a sleep in a fairly comfortable room. There is amiable and attentive staff on reception and in the canteen, friendly atmosphere. I was nicely surprised to find out that the hotel upgraded my room booking for the same price. Cooked breakfast was OK - enough calories for the half of the day stroll around the city; fair choice of cereals, canteen was clean, tables were laid nicely. Room was tiny, but very tidy, TV worked OK, as well as a shower and bath. Location is excellent, suitable for London walks as well as trips to other regions (from Paddington station is 3 min-s walk). Kensington gardens and Hyde park are only 10 minutes walk. Excellent choice for a weekend in London. Staicases were steep - scary!
The location and the friedliness of the staff Rooms too small, exensive
proximity to Paddington Station and underground, breakfast included, safe area, easy to get everywhere from there small room but we were not there enough for that to be a problem. You would not relax at the hotel in such a small room. It was perfectr for a trip to see London and to be on the go most of the time.
the room was very clean and spacious. The let us store our bags all day after we checked out.
Lovely furnished rooms Breakfast room very small for number of rooms
Well situated for central London Rooms too small. Having to pay for wifi connection
great rooms and location...warning !!... the stairs to the rooms are very steep narrow and challenging..no way that older or less mobile people could stay here ...in other countries I doubt it would be legal to have stiars so difficult in a public building... the stairs
Convenient. Small breakfast area.
It's a great location and the staff were friendly. Our room had a torn unclean carpet. The room was small for three people. We had a bloodstain on our undersheet and a badly stained matress we discovered the next day. The room had an off smell. We had booked for 3 days but left straight after the first night. We will never stay here again and I suggest you don't there are plenty of nice hotels in the area. If you want to see photos see my trip advisor post.
Big screen TV Bedsprings were sticking out of the bed in room 207. Moved to room 209 for second night but the bed linen was dirty/had not been changed from the previous occupants (there were actually pubic hairs in th sheets). We ended up sleeping on top of the bed both nights. Carpet was badly stained. All the Reception staff are foreigners and are barely able to english - the atmosphere was not welcoming/friendly.
room cleaning and new towels every day, located close to Victoria station and many shops the stairs: over 40 tight narrow steps for upper floor rooms, the ceiling: you could reach it with your head if you are about 2m high, breakfast: poor and tiny breakfast room, tiny bathroom cabin, defenatly not worthing the price
Stayed in a family suite and rooms were a good size for the area - close to Buckingham Palace and Victoria Station - within walking distance to Harrod's Shopping. Goog value for money in great upscale nieghborhood. Nothing - would stay there again and plan to return again!
the bedroom is very modern, small but comfortable and clean the sitting area for breakfast is in the reception area and I found it very small
The location and friendly staff Poor TV reception and very small shower room
Staff friendly.Clean room.Great location.Great view The shower pressure was bad at times. We stayed in the only room at the very top of the hotel which had great views but was very tiring to climb to ,especially as I had requested a low floor room as two of us has bad athritus which hinders walking up stairs. No lift.
The bathroom, in-room coffee They wanted me to pay a 5% surcharge for paying with my credit card, although that was nowhere mentioned in their ad or the documents they sent me. I did not pay it, and they did not insist. There was no alarm clock in the room. The phone was not working.
. Good value for a London hotel, handy location very close to paddington tube. The breakfast is good, the hotel is immaculate and the staff lovely. Sometimes the hotel is the worst bit of staying in London, but you actually want to spend time in the ABC Hyde park. Love it!. highly recommended
Very good location, staff friendly , rooms very cleaned and well equipped, clean linen every day, good breakfast. Nice decoration. Surroundings very nice for restaurants. Walking distance from Oxford street, 10 min.
Good location- not far from tube. Room had ample space for one person. The folding camp-bed shoe-horned in at the foot of the bed was good to use as a suitcase stand!! All the kit you like to find in a hotel room was there (although very basic complementary toiletries). Nice bedding and soft furnishings. Cosy bed. Nice, snug and warm. (and a fan in the room in case it got too hot) This room (17) obviously used for 3 people...Cripes!!! Its a little small for 3 peoples stuff! The rug was heavily stained- not sure why its there if its so shabby when the lamanate wood flooring underneath is fine? Room very clean but hallway and stairs carpets dirty. Obviously a small problem with plumbing on 3rd floor. Water pressure in shower is poor, and despite having no issues overnight, 30 mins prior to departure, the room next door could be heard using the bathroom and a very unfortunate toilet smell engulphed my room!! Horrid!!
Location and price Shower -bath cabin condition
The check in process was quick and effective. The hotel was clean and served the purpose needed. If you're going to london you probably wont be spending that much time in your hotel anyway so for the price you can't go wrong!
Zona 1, good location. The heating points didn't work.We had to change hotel beacuse there were not available rooms for the 2nd nigth, when we did the booking almost 2 months before the travel.
the room was clean breakfast good, fruit, eggs, cereals, etc. City center. the room was toooo smalllll the shower bath was broken, decoration was horrible.
Very friendly Latvian people. Austrian flag in front of the house.
clean, good location near queensway metro station, is very good for shopping, very nice staff. single room not en-suited.....anyway, if you want to save money, and just for shopping, that's fine~
willingness to help the guests but with scarce resources available (heating disrupted, bathroom out of service, etc). this is not a price for value place for staying even if it closes to the center as the price for a room at the 3stars hotel at the opposite side of the street was even cheaper and more renewed. We already encountered problems at the check-in as the bathroom of the room booked was out of order (the only one room with bath in the house!). After barganing on the price we stayed but sharing common services and noises. Be aware that no room facilities or cleaning are provided unless you stay more than 4 days. The maintenance of the guest house is rather old and quite limited and recall a rather soviet atmosphere pre-indipendence for services and prices are not commensurate to the offer.
small rooms but comfortable The route map from tube stations should be there
friendly staff. quiet, good location close to Tube station, traditional Latvian breakfast with meat, crunchy bread, cheese, eggs and organic yoghurts. The room was very cold as the window was draughty. The receptionist switched on the radiator when I first arrived as she recognised it was cold, but the radiator only worked for about 10 minutes and it did not come back on even in the morning. There were no spare blankets to put on the bed so the night was cold
the toilet was the best feature of the room and the staff was very polite and helpful the curtains were filthy and the room too small occupied completely by the bed
Location Breakfast Price Bathroom Physical condition of hotel is so-so Rooms tiny
position is ok. room size is ok. stuffs are helpful. the shower holder was broken. the duvet looks dirty.
The room was impeccably clean, the staff were friendly and helpful and it was reasonably quiet...for London. Not much in the way of amenities
good location poor breakfast
Good location Room quite small
Location and price. For an ensuite double room the price was very good. Ok it was cheap but the breakfast could have been a little bit more imaginative and the breakfast room laid out better.
good location from the airport and to get into town the choice of breakfeast
excellent location one night noisy in adjacent bedroom until midnight.
This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed it and regret making this choice. The hotel room was infested with bed bugs and I checked out early morning to avoid being further bitten by the creatures.THIS Hotel should be reported to the health & saftey authorities. . I am sorry to see such hotels still exist. Unhygenic hotel
¨close proximity to exhibition centre breaktast horrible with re-used juice and butter from the previous days. We tried it once and then ate out the rest of the time. Water pressure in showerlow and water temp changing a lot
The friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful staff; the location; good value. The beds in my room were adequate, but the mattresses were not the most comfortable.
Breakfast was excellent and very filling. Staff was friendly and helpful. Three minute walk from the Kensington Olympia stop. Rooms and bathrooms are very small. They had one small fan in our twin room, but it would have been nice to have a second for both people. Because there's no AC, the room can get very hot at night.
Helpful and friendly staff. Rooms are small and simple.
