helpful, and clean, your food was great
Ideal location and room rate. Customer relations could be improved.
Location is good with access to underground Room was cold and exposed to traffic noise
Absolutely immaculate. Comfortable beds, spacious rooms for inner city, good facilities and first class cleanliness.
It was close to all tube stations There was building works from 7am which disturbed my sleep, the staff were not that friendly either
The breakfast was good and it was a busy and vibrant hotel. We had lunch in the bar the following day and the soup was luke warm. The bar staff were alright but not particularly concerned about the complaint.
We were only there for an overnight after a long haul flight, but found the hotel to be comfortable and the breakfast excellent. The staff were considerate and helpful when we encountered a problem with our room. The first room we were allocated had a pungent smell which meant we simply couldn't stay in it. We were then moved next door, only to find that once the window had been closed the same smell built up in the room. We only discovered this after an evening in the bar with our son, so were eventually moved at 11.30pm to an upgraded room. All a bit inconvenient, but the problem was well handled by staff and we eventually got a comfortable night's sleep.
The location. Also the servicing of the room and the cleaning staff were exceptional. The rooms were very poorly lit. Also I was given incorrect information by one of the reception staff which meant I thought I had to stay an extra night when in fact I didn't. This cost me £200.
Convenience for our family wedding in Islington
Good clean hotel None
A good quality hotel in a great place None
good meal in bar. room 244 was more like bed and breakfast room than a Jurys room.
the staff are excellent, very comfortable room
None Lack of smiles, lack of manners, no greetings, concierge not helpful, lack of experience personnel to promote tourism.
- location - plugs for different countries in the room - brand new - quiet - no hair drier - drafty and not very welcoming reception area - full carpets in the room - no reading lamps next to the bed
The cost was fair, but the building was under construction / renovation. I was given a reduction on my tab because of the inconvenience due to the fire alarms. The fire alarms went off ~5 times over the 5 days we were there. The 1st night at midnight, the 3rd night at 8 PM, 1 AM, and again at 4 AM. It was a nightmare....
the best thing was after a long day of travelling, meetings, work etc the pillows and bed were so comfy!! I didn't make use of any of the hotel facilities as i was in london for work purposes so did not spend much time actually in the hotel, but what i could see was very good, staff great. the only thing was not being able to open a window to let some air in.
friendly staff and sociable. Good food amd good atmosphere. the inner rooms are quite misserable.
Very friendly yet professional welcome. Thought that the mini bar prices in the room were very reasonable for a London hotel of this excellent class. Liked the humourous touches such as the comments on the laundry bag. Overall, everything felt that little bit "special". Nothing to dislike.
Location was brilliant. The room was a nice size, the air con worked well, liked the smellies. I found the decor a little dark, although I know that's the style of the hotel. Bed slightly on the hard side but still comfortable enough
Comfortable rooms, very quiet and a charming location.
Location of the the hotel is excellent - a real hidden gem in a fascinating square. The hotel is special, and because breakfast was brought to our room too early (as opposed to too late at most hotels) they did not charge us for it - their suggestion not mine. Would stay again I would like to be able to switch the fridge off at night - sleeping in the same room means there is a constant background electrical noise. We are light sleepers and notice such things. It would be great if hotels catered specifically for light sleepers and offered rooms that didn't back onto car parks, air conditioning units, kitchens or had paper thin walls...one day maybe, and to be fair we did not mention this to the people at Malmaison - we were only there 2 nights so put up with it.
Location Expensive room rate and cold poached eggs. Understaffed breakfast room on Sunday morning.
cozy, calm, good location
General feel of the hotel and friendly staff
It was good however there were two things that were a bit of an issue. The bathtub was quite a high way up from the floor so it was difficult/slippery getting in and out. Particularly for an elderly person. The sink also came out quite far from the mirror so it was difficult shilst shaving for one of the staff members that stayed in the hotel. Other than thaose things, the hotel was sufficient. Thank you.
the location was good for us and the room was large and a very good bed
The location is unusual and quiet. I like to be able to open the window rather than relying on air conditioning. The style is original and exciting. Good quality food for breakfast. Nowhere to fold and store clothes and underwear. No glasses to drink water from. Poor bathroom toiletries - just shampoo, conditioner and soap. Inexperienced staff in the breakfast room.
the staff where very helpful when we needed them, and the bar stayed open longer than we had expected we were only there a couple of nights, so not really
Clean and fresh looking rooms I had booked breakfast with my room and the hotel said I did not. It was quite a pain having to prove this
The Hilton Honours reservation did not reserve my room and at check out there was not a good level of service. My bathroom was unclean
Very Helpful Staff None
Location - set back off the main road & only a few minutes walk to Angel tube station. Staff were friendly and helpful. Buffet breakfast had a good choice of food. Room & bathroom were clean and a good size.
Staff, location No wifi
The Receptionist, Gemma, was extremely helpful on early arrival
The relaxing, calm and quiet atmosphere. The quality of the rooms is exceptional and my request for a quiet area and top floor were satisfied. Nothing at all.
free toiletries, see above, discremanation for blue badge holders.
Very comfortable bed, great quiet sleep despite being near reception and one of the best breakfasts I've had.
very comfortable and clean, excellent location, close to town but back off of the main road so not noisy.
visit family No
The room was comfortable and the facilities were good although tea making facilitieis would have been nice. Quite noisy at night and we were on the top floor which was quite hard getting up and down as we were quite old.
Attentive staff Lack of dressing table - or at least a mirror above the desk. Also - though bathroom v pretty - nowhere to put things below the mirror/next to the basin.
Had a really nice relaxed homely feel to it and lovely room decor.
closeness to where we needed to be. hotel was very beautiful getting a smoking room when specifically requested non smoking. requesting early check in - rooms not available
Old fashionned style, bathroom, bed, baby cot installed on our room, Ipod deck Not enough staff on week end for breakfast
Rooms were gothic and a pleasant change from the corporate look. Can be noisy at night with the local clubs. Poorly functioning aircon
free wifi, friendly and helpful staff, real fire place at the lounge, convenient
location Very loud music just outside our room until 4 o'clock in thr morning,
Well-appointed room, very helpful staff, lovely public rooms, excellent breakfast. Tub/shower difficult for physically limited person.
It did not have the impersonal feel of a hotel. I was really impressed with the standard of accommodation and the beauty of the rooms. The bathroom was extraordinary. I have already recommended it to my friends and intend to recommend it to my boss (American) when he is in London. Need to discuss corporate rate though for weekdays, it's a bit expensive. Brilliant price for the weeekend.
It was one of the best hotels I've ever stayed. It is really clean, well equipped, very convenient in every aspects including getting coffee, tea, and absolutely very strong conditioned free wi-fi. The hottest thing was very fresh lemon smelled shampoo, conditioner and bath soap.
Light, well-designed rooms, excellent food, friendly & helpful staff, location convenient for both City and many restaurants/shops etc. It was all good.
friendliness of the staff rooms are supersmall
.courteous welcome,efficient check in.delightful room(306)lovely view,v.comfortable bed,clean modern shower-room,great design.The Bistrot staff were friendly,knowledgeable,wonderful service, exceptional innovative menu,memorably delicious lunch.
Very stylish, "hip" hotel in business district nearby the Farrigdon Tube station. Nice bar and restaurant, very comfortable. Not a particularly attractive neighborhood, but within walking distance of several good restaurants, pubs and shopping. The bed in our "Deluxe" room on the 3rd floor corner, was a bit "saggy". I kept rolling into the middle. I think it's time for them to upgrade the beds.
Proximity to Kings Cross St. Pancras International Railway Station. The headboard on the bed was sticky and dirty. The bed mattress was hard and uncomfortable.
Excellent size of room, comfort of the bed and well sound proofed.
the room(includng bathroom) was nice, clean and spacious versus some of the older hotels, great location, with friendly and helpful staff,a great room that was reasonably priced
No facilities in the room even for what was supposed to be a budget hotel the open wardrobe was full with 2 coats hanging up and the safe was virtually on the floor so you had to lie on the floor to set it...and then it fell off the shelf and anyone could have picked it up and walked away with it. I understand your advertising quotes room from £29 per night and I know you expect London to be more expensive, but £250 for 2 nights was actually an insult and I would never book a Premier Inn again..Holiday Inn Express is far superior for only a small amount more!
its location Shower is not female friendly. Its power head is stuck high on the wall, you cant wash yourself without compromisng a style of your hair!!!
The location was fantastic as I was arriving into and out of london via St Pancras Station The price was a bit expensive
Room a little larger than most. N/A
The proximity to the Eurostar train station makes it very convenient to travel to Paris disneyland especially for family with young children. The hotel staff are helpful, services and facilities are beyond my expectations, and the cleanliness and comfort makes it ideal to stay in this hotel.
As noted ion the responses above
Quite, good location
Very nice and clear apartement. Barbican station closed and others underground stations too far
It was in an ideal location to visit my son who is at University nearby and close to transport tosee London city and attractions. I would stay again due to its convenience plus hotel staff were very nice nothing was too much trouble. only two points to make water when showering was tepid and number of pillows was only two but I was given more on asking but this would not stop me from booking again.
Great compact room, excellent for a business stay No
Location - very convenient fo rthe Barican where i was attending events The bed. It dipped badly in the middle of a single bed and I slept very poorly. The tempartaure - the room was too war,
Very well planned room with excellent range of equipment Being told I had not reserved a place when I arrived. It turned out that because I had booked on line, the booking had gone through to a central office that had not told the hotel. Fortunately, they had a room that was empty and ready.
The warm welcome by your staff. It would have been good to have a small sign by the complimentary tea/coffee facilities in the room informing that there was more available from reception rather than paying very expensive prices at the shop across the road.
i chose the Citadines hotel because i was attending a show at the Barbican centre.it is ideal for that because the Centre is within walking distance from the hotel.the room was fine and included most things needed e.g. steam iron, microwave,kettle,t.v.,dvd player . this is the second year running that i have used the hotel and i would definitely go there again.
Close to underground station and office
very near tube station. kitchen and utensils very useful. 24hour reception. later departure would be useful
Facilities in the room
Fantastic staff and service/competent and friendly/Comfortable equipment in room.Cleaning service-it,s a new opend hotel. Very good connection with most interesting paleces and sights in London/buses 30 and 19 and Angel station/Northern line/. English breakfast/popcorns,plain scrambled eggs tasteless sausages/I prefer completely another dishes.-but is only week side oh hotel.
The room was clean and quiet - we didn't stay long enough to use any facilities so cannot comment on them. Staff not very helpful on checking in - I had left my reservation number in the car and insisted I had to get it - by the time I got back they had checked my wife in by confirmimg our post code.
very little room was small & grubby
The staff was very plesant. The hotel location was well suited for my purpose in visiting London The mattress was very hard. I talked to the staff and they provided a softer mattress.
good location for Barbican.
Staff were very nice The single room I had was very small and bathroom was almost impossible to use as it is far too small.
Had a hard time finding the hotel
the first room standard was very bad ,old furniture, small, very noise,no safe,no air condition, really terrible. however went to reception made a complain and got an up grade on a nice room.my opinium this old building must be repaired as soon as possible as difference is huge.
Location Shower curtain kept falling down
Only hotel convenient to where I needed to be. Bar and dining most adequate. Some of bathroom fittings did not function well
We booked the stay at this hotel because we believed it would be perfectly placed for the Barbican Centre, but despite the name it was at least 20 minutes walk from the Centre
This hotel ticket all the boxes. The breakfast was excellent, beds comfortable, rooms quiet and the staff friendly but unobtrusive. Will definitely visit again.
I liked that it was close to the bus and train lines, and you could walk to them easily. The staff was very pleasant and accommidating. The tub was dirty and the bed was very very uncomfortable. They put me in a room with two twin beds (not sure why) and I have never slept on beds that small, it was the worse sleep I have ever had, I slept on cots and had a better sleep.
The front of house staff. Comfortable bed. Not on par with more modern Travel Lodges. Lifts and rooms are very tired, which makes it difficult to clean.
Location, cleanliness, great staff especially Alex. Very helpful. Walking distance to underground and Euston station.
Replacement location was nice When we got there they told us to go to another location because there were no more rooms even though we booked a month ahead of time. No calls, emails, or texts were given prior which would have saved precious time in London.
Price Staff Very clean Convenient location Unlimited breakfast! Teeny bathroom Small room, but perfectly functional Decor a little tired
The hotel is faurly near to kings cross and other surrounding convenient shops, buses and tube that are near to it. Its about a ten to 15 minute walk away, ehich for most people will be ok. Easy walk to get there. (I guess for those with mobility issues this may be a slight issue - if you have problems you may want to choose another one right next to Kings Cross.) Staff were friendly and helpful, restaurant clean. The downstairs customer toilets are in the basement and severely aged, weirdly there were flies everywhere there too but you only need to use those toilets if you haven't checked in yet and desperately need the loo, so not too much an issue. The rooms are dated, this is an old hotel that has not been updated, artex walls and wooden desks but nothing wrong with that. My room, 230 was clean and tidy. Bathroom was nice. All rooms here have a bath and a showerhead too. Clean towels. It was all old fashioned looking but not worn out. Lovely square behind the hotel with a playground and basketball court if you wish to relax. Cheap value stay with basic conveniences but it is not the most peaceful for sleeping at all. The room was hot because you are entirely unable to open the windows, an old plastic alarmed cable limits the opening of them so you could not even open them a crack for fresh air. At least it did in my room. All hotel room windows are normally alarmed but these were ridiculously restricted. The plug sockets were also on the opposite end of tge room to thge bed. A fan was provided but was not very effective due to not being able to stretch it far enough to reach the bed. The worst problem as you may expect was traffic noise. This severely ruined my stay. The back of the hotel i noticed however, backs on to a lovely square called Granville Square. This was a peaceful haven, and the back rooms benefitted from this. Ask for a back room and try to check in early if possible, however there are a limited number of back ones. Also, luggage is only stored in the back office. You may struggle if you arrive after 1 to store your luggage there because there isnbt much room
