Pros: This is just an amazing hotel. Fantastic location, great rooms, great views of real-life-Manhattan, even a really nice breakfast. All at a really good price for such quality. And this must’ve been the most shockingly amazing check-in experience!! Ever!! I did it all myself in like 17 seconds, and that’s the exact time. Checkout was the same. Room controls from iPad. This is truly a modern hotel and it shows!

Cons: Thin walls, assuming our next door neighbor had to much fun at the Roof Top Bar and was throwing up the whole night, we had the pleasure of hearing every single thing for about 1-2 hours straight. Had to turn on the TV to muffle some of it out!

Cons: The room was not very clean. The whole rustic theme is just a nice way to hide the wear-tear and dirt. Soundproofing is poor, not sure why would they make hardwood floors in a hotel room. Air conditioning comes on every 30 seconds which is annoying. Cleaning staff is yelling “room service” in the corridor starting at 8:30 am so if you weren’t waken up by the guests bashing against the floor these ladies would do it. In general this hotel is way overpriced for what they offer.

Cons: There were a few hiccups in our reservations to do with billing and how it was handled at check-in - which were quite frustrating, but we were so thankful to host for sorting us out and ensuring a smooth and enjoyable last night at the hotel.

Cons: The hotel needs to stop charging a resort/location fee. The fee is not worth it and will make me stay away from properties of theirs. The fact that they didn't have a pool or spa attached yet charge over $--- a night plus tax nickel and dimes guests.

Cons: I've stayed at this hotel a MULTITUDE of times, maybe 20 over the course of the year. This time, they cancelled me as a no show and charged me for it when I had notified them of a red eye flight. They were rude to me when I arrived. They charge $30 for water and coffee, and on a daily basis despite leaving notes for the housekeeping staff I had to call about water, coffee, and shampoo. It was quite ridiculous. I booked a room on 53 but got a room on 25, even though I spent 2 hrs working through it with the bookings.com agent.

Cons: The property is in desperate need of a revamp. We spoke to the front desk concerning an odour coming from the carpet, smelled like dog pee. We have dogs, and are pretty sure of that. No, one did anything about it. We were there for a total of seven nights. We won't be doing that again!!

Cons: Prices kept fluctuating day by day. I was locked in on one of the higher prices, since I didn't know ahead of time to wait a week and check back daily to get the best rate.

Also asked desk staff to keep an item for me and have it sent to my room and they didn’t do it and lost it! All in all I don’t think I can stay there again. ☹️

We didn't even have a chance to ask for silverware, which one of us was missing. We shared until we could get someones attention. Not an easy task here as they seem to go with the NYC theory, Don't make eye contact. When we were finished I asked the wait staff for our check (I hadn't seen our waitress in a while). We waited, and waited, and waited. I finally saw our waitress by the bar so I went over and asked for the check.
All in all, a mediocre experience. The only plus is the location. I won't return. Not really worth the $$$.

No preparation for special requests made at the reservation (we were there with children and requested two rooms near each other... it took more than 24 hours and we had to move rooms 3-4 times in order to achieve this... a little bit if preparation could have saved us this huge hassle. 2. We ended up sampling quite a number of rooms. In each one something wasn’t quite functional (mostly small things but its just a pity).

Pros: Breakfast was mediocre. Dinner was ok but the wait staff needs to pay more attention to details. And the customer. When they delivered dinner they dropped the plates and disappeared. We didn't even have a chance to ask for silverware, which one of us was missing. We shared until we could get someones attention. Not an easy task here as they seem to go with the NYC theory, Don't make eye contact. When we were finished I asked the wait staff for our check (I hadn't seen our waitress in a while). We waited, and waited, and waited. I finally saw our waitress by the bar so I went over and asked for the check.
All in all, a mediocre experience. The only plus is the location. I won't return. Not really worth the $$$.

Pros: The most friendly hotel staff of my entire USA trip. The receptionist and the other staff are very nice, we felt very welcome. They gave us some advice for the area around the hotel, what should we do while we were there. The hotel location is "The Best", very easy to get on subway. Very close to time square and 5th Ave.,just walk few minutes, you can stay outside till late without worries. The room was spacious and spotless clean. No noise from outside in the room, super comfortable bed and pillow. Good size bathroom. In total it real worth the money we paid. We will stay there again for our future trip in New York.

Pipes left exposed in closet ceiling and covered in filthy dust and insulation-powder that is falling off, postage stamp sized room. Second room: Bed unmade, bathroom dirty, towels on floor, trash full. Third room: paint peeling, shade gross, furniture falling apart and gross glue exposed, mildew thick in corners of bath tub/shower, filth in corners of bathroom floor, filth on light switch. No coffee provided in room or lobby. Lines for check-in at all times day and night. One person at desk, no concierge. Internet is intermittently effective, plug connections loose or non-functioning. Terrible lighting, hallways dark and dim, but not enough to hide stains on the carpet.

No electric outlet near the bed was a serious problem, as I use my phone for white noise and need to keep it plugged in. Broken drawer in nightstand. Bathroom reeked of mildew though none was visible - possibly shower curtain needing to be washed. No place to put toiletries also a problem - sink was huge but no counter space.

Breakfast was not included in our rate but there was no need for it since there were multiple cafes and restaurants for breakfast & coffee nearby. There was an entrance to Grand Central Station right across the street which was very convenient and safe. I would definitely recommend this hotel, especially to anyone visiting Manhattan for the first time as it is close to many major attractions, subways and landmarks. I look forward to returning soon!

Pros: The lobby is lovely.
Cons: The front desk staff seemed very annoyed and were not welcoming. There were a lot of extra fees. The bathrooms are set to be remodeled but haven't been done yet so everything looks old and cheap.

Pros: Staff were very helpful. Our first Concierge was a Broadway fan and expert and helped us get tickets to Ain't Too Proud, which was sold out when we saw it. Bell staff also very friendly and helped a lot.

Cons: Plenty of potential, definitely not taken profit of: far too expensive for the quality of the rooms, which were falling apart; the only two elements saving it are the position and the cleaning level, which, however, cant' make up for damaged furniture, uncomfortable beds, and XIX-century-like bathrooms. Either you renew it, or you lower prices - by a lot.

Pros: Location was excellent. The room was spacious and clean. Alfredo at the Front Desk was exceptional and very helpful with everything. Breakfast was not included in our rate but there was no need for it since there were multiple cafes and restaurants for breakfast & coffee nearby. There was an entrance to Grand Central Station right across the street which was very convenient and safe. I would definitely recommend this hotel, especially to anyone visiting Manhattan for the first time as it is close to many major attractions, subways and landmarks. I look forward to returning soon!

Cons: The lobby was very nice but the rooms are very outdated. Loose power points and bathroom fixtures were loose and looked like they were going to fall off at any time. Toilet didn’t flush properly. Some staff like maids and doorman were excellent but the rest of the staff were rude and very short with you at times.

Cons: View was of nothing and the windows were so dirty you couldnt even see out them. The room was not ready on arrival even though we provided our check in times and we waited over an hour. There was no ceiling light in the room and the only light available was from 3 lamps. The decor is ancient and as for breakfast, 28 dollars for eggs and bacon, which didnt include the little hidden charge of it being sent to your room, tip and sales tax. So be prepared to pay 40 bucks for a standard breakfast.

Pros: The location was perfect. The hotel was very nice and all but one of the staff were friendly and courteous. Excellent doorman both weekday and weekend. Extra kudos to the doorman who made our weekend exceptional.
Cons: Was disappointed that the Rooftop Bar / Lounge was under renovation and inaccessible. Understand from locals that it's been under renovation for quite some time. Ignored by the bartender in the lounge off of the lobby.

Cons: The bed was the worst bed I've ever slept on. The room wasn't the greatest but it's an old hotel so we didn't mind too much. My biggest complaint is how terrible the bed was.

Cons: The hotel was being renovated. Was put on a floor that had not been renovated. Still charged $278.00 a night for the room. Room was dirty, musty smelling, walls had peeling paint. Bathroom was the worst. Rust all over, the tub reglazing was coming off, rust in the tub. Mold all around the tub and on the ceiling where the paint was peeling. Was not good at all.

Cons: Very retro, I felt like Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany’s. But this is NYC so what the heck? It was charming. The very small shower needed some Draino, and a couple of tiles fixed. No hair dryer, no microwave. But seriously, for the price I paid...I loved it.

Cons: The room was more like a hostel than a hotel. Non smoking room smelled like stale cigarette butts and the bottom sheet to the bed didn’t even reach the length of the mattress - so our feet touched the bare mattress. Overall, a gross room.

Cons: The room's heater was broken in the on position, making the room unbearably hot. Contacting the hotel to fix the problem was a huge weight, and completely not worth it because they never did anything.
