Pros: Great location, great staff, comfortable rooms, relaxed atmosphere, respectful of privacy and focus on guest happiness

Cons: Didn't think it was appropriate that they put a baby on my smoking floor, morning paper came at 11 AM

Pros: The ambience is just wonderful. Old-style decor in lobby with lots of velvet ... very spacious and comfy. And the rooms are large and immaculate. Bed very comfy. Bathroom a nice size with walk-in shower. Just love it here!

Cons: Service at Gemma was a bit slow at breakfast. Slow elevator.

Pros: Great location, loved the old Hollywood feel to it. Staff were very polite and helpful. Also a great lounge and bar area for cocktails and bites.

Pros: Comfortable, nice-size room on 7th floor with great view of lower Manhattan in a vibrant part of the city. Great attention to detail in all respects. Shower was wonderful.

Pros: The hotel was in a fantastic location - very convenient to everything we wanted to do. The room was small but everything had its place, which made it nice. The staff always said hello and tried to help with every question.

Cons: In our room, one particular morning, they had a problem with the lights going on and off at 6 AM, which was not pleasant. They did apologize and say they would look into it.

Pros: The staff was very helpful and friendly. We were greeted each time we passes the desk! The location was perfect for our needs.

Cons: There could have been better sound proofing in the bathroom walls; we heard more if our neighbors than necessary. We did find ants on the desk - just three over the course of three days.

Cons: Very understaffed, poor check in experience. Interior doors are paper thin and a door opening down the hall sounds as is it’s your own door opening.

Cons: Wasn’t aware that it is a “dog friendly” hotel so a bit annoyed by the barking dog next door. Service in the bar was bad. Sat there for 10 minutes and didn’t get served.

Cons: Spartan. Clean but the toilet leaked onto the floor, the heat was sporadic, and only one thin blanket was provided.

Pros: We were very busy so not a lot of time was spent actual facility, but comfortable exceeded our needs.

Pros: Quaint little hotel room right in the middle of downtown manhattan. Everything you needed was in walking distance including a CVS and a Walmart. Street parking was a block away and there were a ton of garage parking in the area. Great little hotel and the bar underneath was nice. The 24 hour restaurant underneath the hotel was an added bonus! Bed wasnt too comfortable and it was tough navigating the shower but we would def stay there again. A very value hotel right in downtown Manhattan - you couldnt beat the price /location

Pros: Not a bad place to stay for a night or two, but not longer than that. If you're a college student on a budget, I would recommend. The cash only part did throw me off.

Cons: How is this hotel available for online bookings? When I arrived for a business trip, I walked upstairs to the check-in hallway (not a lobby) to meet a man behind plexiglass who told me that the hotel is CASH ONLY but there was an ATM I could use (for a large fee). I was given a key card to my room that was up another flight of stairs at the end of a long hallway. This is clearly a rent-by-the-hour establishment. My room barely fit a full bed and the window in my room opened to a cement chute. No light here! (For a size comparison, think half the size of an interior budget cabin on a cruise ship). It was late so I decided I could suffer through one night. I have stayed at Red Roof Inns with nicer amenities, though. The radiator sounded asthmatic and kept me up most of the night. The bathroom had sandpaper towels (one of which was terribly stained), a shower with no hot water and poor water pressure, and a tiny bar of soap and half-filled bottle of shampoo. No conditioner, lotion, washcloths, hair dryer, or even glasses for water. There is a warning on your receipt when you check in that the management is not responsible for any personal property left in the room. If you want to secure your things while you are out, you have to check them behind the plexiglass in the tiny "office." The worst part of my stay was that when I woke up, I felt itchy. I couldn't shake the feeling all day. After my business meetings I booked a red-eye home and forfeited the second night stay. AVOID!

Pros: We liked the fact that the hotel is in a good location especially in that area. I love SoHo and I love visiting St. Marks Place shops and eateries. I also love going the Thrift store which is a few blocks away, Dallas BBq's is a block away and we did find some other restaurants that were great and in walking distance.

Cons: We're used to getting rooms that have a large flat screen tv, night stands by the bed and maybe a fridge and microwave, but for the price, location and size of the rooms I'm sure that wouldn't be possible. The beds could be upgraded and much better pillows. Also it was interesting hearing the couple next door to us. It felt like the walls were going to cave in....lol
