Very Clean, well maintained. Smallish rooms.
I thought the staff very responsive to my questions. I had a document printed out at short notice, and it was done efficiently and without complaint. What I most disliked was the set-up with the television. It is absolutely standard these days --even at a motel 6 -- to have a large number of cable tv stations available with at least some of the more common movie channels. There was none of that. Also, one would expect a large movies-on-demand set-up on the television and that too was missing. 2) my in-house phone did not work, and so to communicate with the front desk, I had to go down by elevator; 3) it was difficult to catch a cab in this part of wall street, and there was no way of doing so, according to the staff, except to walk 2 or 3 blocks and hope for the best. The hotel should have a better arrangement when it comes to cabs; 4) the bed was fine, but the only cover/comforter doubled as a bed-spread, which meant one had to sleep with the bed-spread, which I find off-putting -- potentially unclean.
I had a PHENOMENAL front dresk staff Saturday when I got in! Super helpful!!
Location was excellent but hotel was way too expensive
The room was quite clean and comfortable. I really enjoyed the water bottle refill station.
The location, included amenities, and service were all spot on. Will definitely return here. Only complaint was the hard bed. That said, it was well worth the trade off.
The location was very convenient to all of the Financial District. The attached restaurant provided good food and standard NY prices. The room was clean, quite (outside noise was minimal) and the staff very accommodating. Although the parking was discounted, it was about a block away. It was not clear where the parking facility was located and I circled the blocks a few times and wound up having to call the hotel to give me instructions on where to go.
It is a really good choice! Clean and new hotel, in the middle of wall street, it is really cheap compared to other much more options in new york. The price I paid was 20% less expensive than other hotel in town. Rooms are clean, nice and confortable. Self check in is strange but very efficient at the end!!!
The staff is very courteous and helpful. The premises are clean and well maintained. The location is awesome if you like to walk around and take in the sights. The Financial District is one of the few places I enjoy walking around as it isn't as densely populated at night. The room we had was right by a garbage disposal or ice machine so every so often we'd hear it go off. Very distracting and unpleasant. The room seemed smaller than it is because the ceilings are outrageously tall. The bathroom looks like the designer took a page out of the YMCA men's domicile for inspiration - cheap tile, crappy shower, meh. The windows haven't been washed in what I can only assume is eons so even if the view were breathtaking (it wasn't) you wouldn't be able to see it properly.
The staff was very polite.
Location and cleanliness of room
Location to shopping, tourist attractions, and public transportation lump between two matresses being placed together to form a larger bed
We were greeted by the courteous staff after entering the unique entryway. A staircase surrounded by old books, leather seats, and an inviting chess set adorn the hall adjacent to a wine bar we were glad not to miss. The gold elevators requiring a room key to access brought us to our room. The bed was so comfortable, the room had a refreshing old school/hipster vibe. It has all the amenities you would expect from a great hotel and ten times the style. The location allowed us to hop on any subway we wanted and surrounded us with several landmarks and restaurants. We'll be comparing other hotels to this one from now on. The maids were even really nice to us. We loved staying in New York and even loved sitting back with a glass of wine in our room. I didn't like leaving.
I travel quite a bit and have been in many hotels. This one is by far the best I have I stayed at. The service of the front desk as well as the willingness of everyone on staff to make your stay the best is what really stands out. It is located in a great spot and I wouldn't hesitate to stay again the next time I'm in NYC.
Service, vibe, ambience, location Workout facilities.
The location to everything downtown New York was excellent; walking distance. The restaurant "Felice" was one of the best Italian Food I have ever had. Staff friendly!!
The room was great, good views, good toiletries, nice lobby and restaurant. Loved it. Hot water was not consistently hot enough.
Overall great experience- modern, great staff, excellent restaurant. Would stay again!
Room was big, stocked with food and drinks for a price, room was clean and bed was big and clean. Friendly staff. Great hotel, would love to stay again. Even great parking outside the hotel , can usually find a spot for no fee.
Very friendly and accomodating staff. Received a complimentary glass of wine immediately upon my arrival. Nice after 10 hrs on the road. Very good vibe. Comfortable beds, clean rooms, good location. The hotel was a bit hard to find despite having a GPS. Not really, the hotels fault, I guess. The bathroom wall was made of a transluscent mosaic panel, which did not offer much privacy. Ended up doing our business with the bathroom lights off most of the time. While this may not be an issue for some, with 4 adults in the room it was definitely a bit awkward at times.
Booked through Kayak and by some stroke of luck, received a free upgrade to the Thompson Suite upon arrival. If you can, book this room - it is absolutely amazing and without a doubt the most spacious hotel room I've ever seen in New York (or any other major metro area really). The staff was exceptionally helpful and accommodating and the property itself is both charming and luxurious. HIGHLY recommend - I've stayed at both the Thompson Smyth Tribeca and the SIXTY LES (when it was under Thompson management) and this was by leaps and bounds the best. Not necessarily a downside, but be aware that the hotel is ALL the way downtown - this was perfect for my needs, but could be inconvenient if you're not familiar with NYC when booking. Additionally, the elevators were finicky and slow, although the concierge was very helpful in remedying the issue. So all in all, no substantive complaints to speak of!
Very mediocre fitness center. Due to limited space perhaps they could work out an arrangement with a nearby gym.
Very clean, staff was super nice and accommodating and it was very quiet! I highly recommend The Gild and we will definitely return. This is our new "go to" hotel! Elevators are slow but it certainly didn't affect our stay.
My clean, spacious room was a "large King" that I had been upgraded into. It felt more like a studio apartment than a hotel room. I loved the free mini bar and couldn't get over how friendly and helpful the staff was. The Andaz Hotel staff has nailed charming professionalism. I tried to watch a bit of TV one night and the cable was cutting in and out. Also, I had to request more snacks and beverages vs an automatic replenishment.
Nice spacious rooms, very very nice staff, very small dog friendly, very well maintained all around. Also great location to stay in nyc because it's close to the metro/buses and at night there isn't so much noise as compared to midtown or uptown. Since we went in winter there was only heat available in the room. So to cool the room I had to open a window. These windows are quite massive and if I were a drunk person or not in the right state of mind, I have no doubt someone could fall to their death. I think this is a definite safety issue the hotel should really look into. At the very least maybe put in stoppers that only allow one to crack the window and not fully open.
We had a wonderful stay at Andaz Wall Street. The rooms were modern and clean. The staff were very friendly. The subway stop is a very convieneint walk away. Wall street was not a very convenient for us.
The bathroom is gorgeous, huge free standing shower and elegant tub. I loved the power blackout shades. Staff went the extra mile every time we asked. AC was out and it was just too hot. Finally they supplied fans.
Through Kayak we were fortunate to get a good deal on the price of the Andaz. It is a beautiful hotel in a good location. While it is quite south of most of the activity in Manhattan, it's an easy subway ride to the activities north of the hotel.
The bathroom was so new and the huge shower with the glass doors was pretty cool. pretty much all the furniture looked like it was purchased from Ikea. I'm over the "modern" aka cheap ikea look in hotels.
Huge bathroom...nice location and very pleasant staff...enjoyed our stay immensely.
The staff is what made this hotel-- friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Sadly some rare traits these days at hotels. Also, loved the simplicity and elegance of the rooms and whole hotel. Would definitely return. Towels smelled a like chemicals
Stayed at the Andaz for one night bc of the location and price. It far exceeded our expectations - the room was immaculate, roomy and nicely decorated. We also felt like we had more amenities than other hotels for the price and the staff was great. Would go back in a heartbeat!
Freebies in room, beautiful bathroom, comfy bed, great location I assume our room was above the restaurant so it smelled like the kitchen during open hours, could use a thorough cleaning in the rooms.
The staff was exceptionally helpful and nice-- I booked a room as a birthday surprise, but before I booked I wanted to see the room in person to make sure it looked as good as the pictures. I stopped by the hotel and asked a person at the front if I could go up to just see a room, and he said it was no problem and let me have a look. A lot of the pictures on this website are of the King Deluxe room, but the King Standard room still looked really nice (just a little smaller). After I booked the room, I went to check-in and told the person at the front that it was a birthday present. As a favor, she said that she would upgrade me for free, since it was for a birthday! I thought that was an extremely nice thing to do, since they had unfilled Deluxe rooms anyways. That was awesome and I really appreciated it, got to stay in the huge Deluxe room for a really cheap price! Would have been nice if we were able to make dinner reservations at Bar Seven Five, but you are only able to make breakfast/lunch reservations at Wall & Water.
Got a room last minute. Great deal in price. The room was small but perfect for just me and my boyfriend when we just needed a place to crash for the night. Clean rooms and good service. Check out at noon was a plus. Would come back.
Very clean and comfortable, had a corner room which gave great views and light. shower was clean and big. bar attached to hotel was open late for a sunday and was a great place to end the night. Very close to south street seaport which has tons of bars and restaurants. small, but expected due to it being in NYC. Not the easiest area to navigate but quiet area much better then staying in midtown.
Friendly staff Good location Clean NO PARKING BREAKFAST WASNT SO GOOD ROOMS WERE EXTREMELY SMALL NOISEY PEOPLE IN THE HALL (staff)
great location if you have business downtown; clean rooms; adequate workout facility; fantastic front desk service and staff very very small rooms even by NYC standards, but functional for a solo.
Bathroom needs repair, towels. Coffee cups are not cleaned. Dirty floor
Great hotel, would definitely stay there again. Very clean, and the staff was very accommodating. No pool. Absolutely no parking. (Do not count on finding parking near by or on the streets). They told me they had a deal with the parking garage next door and when I got there they did not accept my car because "they were full" so I had to run around looking for an open parking and take a cab back to the hotel afterwards.
The best location for business trip and if you have a plan to visit liberty island. My room never have any outside light because it was surrounded by tall building and it feels like night all day.
staff was nice Not much first off tried to charge me twice for the room had to have the manager out to get it straight even with documentation the room needed some work remote didn't work had to stuff a wash cloth in the tub to stop the drain at midnight the maintenance guy wok me up to ask if the AC was working I travel for buisness 300 days a year some nicer than others I would put this one close to the bottom parking was also an issue told me they had an association with a garage a block away true but it Didn't take full size vehicles such as a suburban so I was on my own a mile or to away all in all I guess I tried to save a few $$$ wasn't what I expected
Upgraded, very friendly
we were upgraded which was super nice. Possibly the shortest building on Wall Street, so no great views" but room was clean, hallways not so much. Also the shower doesn't really close which was quite odd. Shower, cleanliness Of hotel (not room), and all of the writings they had for guests were in poor and broken English.
was not the same place shown in photos
The welcome was warm and helpful. I even got an upgrade! At first glance, the room looked amazing! The modern amenities and style were welcoming, but when I looked a little deeper it was hard to ignore the fact that the wear and tear of the room was taking its toll. The wood around the sink was badly warped. The sink didn't drain properly. The floor was cheap. The faux-wood laminate was warped and felt greasy under my feet.
Nothing fancy. Clean rooms .Microwave in each room. Adding a take-out food service menu
The staff was very friendly and pleasant The pictures online were nothing like what the hotel really looks like. The lobby is ok but past that it's very seedy. It should be rated no more than two stars. Outside of the rooms, I was on the fourth floor, there's no air conditioning and it's all torn up in the hallways on the way to the elevator. The room was very basic. I would never stay here again.
The general disposition of the front desk staff. Everyone was exceptionally pleasant without being condescending. The sanitation conditions of this hotel are deplorable. I found pubic hairs all over the bathroom (fixtures, floor, walls), the hardwood floor was sticky, and the walls themselves we're in very poor repair - covered in marks scratches, gashes, etc. I brought this information to the front desk and was put in a "suite" which is a room with identical conditions, but a separate kitchen space. I had one short-and-curly at eye level in my shower - which remained plainly and visibly stuck to the wall for the 4 day duration of my stay. The toilet stopped flushing on my first day. The floors are pitched and uneven, the elevator is barely functional. The corridors do not pass ADA standards. The room doors look like they were salvaged from several other buildings and don't work properly - my room door had to be pulled shut whenever I left the room. All in all I have to say this was one of the worst hotel stays I've had. I've stayed in crappy motels that weren't much better (still better) but there, I know what I was getting into and was paying an appropriate price for the level of facility. I feel that the descriptions for this hotel are misleading and deceptive, and I would never stay in this hotel again - ever.
Great atmosphere, great staff! Bathroom shower had calcium deposits on grout. Not a big deal but when you travel as much as I do, you like to see neat bathrooms. Not a big deal just a note.

Excelent location , clean, staff very friendly. Nope.
Everything from the location, Greeting of the staff, help from the staff, lounge area.Room speaks volume cleanliness, the size of the room, the bed was very comfortable..I would definitely recommand to friends.. Nothing was wrong - Everything was Great!!!
Clean, modern decor with very friendly staff The AC was loud, and the thermostat was confusing, but they were aware of and fixing the loudness issue.

Perfect location and brand new and clean facility and rooms. I thought the room size was like that of a cabin on a cruise ship; efficient but tiny.
Clean, trendy, friendly staff, small cafe available 24/7, bar area available Nothing
clean room, good staff, no fringe, no balcony, poor breakfast, far from subway st.
Location location Location On the first floor was too noisy at 1 AM
Staff was very very friendly and helpful. Went out of their way to help us even after check out. Was a Pet friendly hotel Need more extra stuff on hand (i.e. comforters, cots, small refridgerators).
Staff was knowledgable and helpful. Room was very clean.
From the moment we walked in the staff made us feel extremely welcome. That feeling never left the entire 3 days we were there. I will 100% return to this location the next time we are in Manhattan no questions about it.
Cleanliness of the room. Comfortable beds. Reliable service and facilities. Truly business class lodging, nothing fancy, but commendable nonetheless. Good choice for vactioners who don't plan on spending too much time in their hotel room and instead wnat a clean room and a comfortable bed. Exercise room too small and poorly equipped. Wifi was weak and frequently interrupted.
The staff was very friendly. The room was ready when we arrived for check-in. Nice and clean, very comfortable. We were on the first floor by the check in desk. We had to keep the fan on to drown out the noise of other guests going up to their rooms during the night.
stone's throw from pace university, where our daughter will be attending college in the fall; parking across the street; close to brooklyn bridge, south street seaport area, chinatown, easy access from I95 without having to drive directly through the city. reservations were for 2 queen sized beds, but the beds were not queen sized but full sized, which was a bit uncomfortable
Not much We were on 1st floor close to the front desk, they talked loud and laughed all night long. In the morning we were awakened by a hammer drill, drilling concrete 10 feet out our window. Posted note left on headboard saying our room was made up by _______, was a nice touch!
Personnel, location very close to metro and financial district breackfast is not at top level but enough to be considered good
I liked the price and the location, they also had a gym open 24/7. I didn't get to use it this trip but would like to if I ever get back there again. Breakfast was great too. Small room, no fridge, no microwave. Room was uncomfortably warm when I walked in as well. Staff made it so we would have access to microwave and fridge in the lobby but wouldve been more convenient if it was available in the room.
The location was perfect for us and nothing was too much trouble for all the staff. A wonderful experiance for my Wife and I.
Good location, great view of the Brooklyn bridge from the room, friendly staff. Not a 5 star hotel so don't expect stuff that a 5 star would include. Parking around the street is hard to find during weekdays and is too expansive in the nearby parking facility.
could do with a small bar
Excellent staff! Willing to answer any and all questions; assisted us with parking; offered to watch our bags before check-in and after check-out so that we would not have to leave them in our car (which was in nearby parking garage); assisted us with obtaining a roll-away bed very quickly. Yummy continental breakfast. Excellent location - close to the Staten Island Ferry and the Brooklyn Bridge, a block from the water, close to the subway to go uptown, very close to parking. n/a
Staff very accommodating. Fire caused elevator service to cease. Room rate was reduced by $75. Very nice! We were on the 6th floor. All staff very pleasant and helpful in every way! Great location!. Booked a double-web site said "last one". Hotel did not have a double- got a king. The "last one" available display prompted my booking at that time. Sales pitch or reality by Booking.com?
The location was good, coffee was good, my view from room was great. The price was ridiculous.
breakfast area was small, cluttered and had a bad layout which made navigating the food line and seating difficult. The rest of the amenities were fine and the location is very good for dining and access to seaport area.
location breakfast is quite poor
Good location for Seaport area and not too far from good restaurants.
Great Location! Loved the view of the Brooklyn Bridge from my terrace room. The room was clean and the bed comfortable.
Great location for family visit by car to New York. Easy in to city, easy parking.
Location Dirty and rundown
The neighborhood is very interesting with lots of good restaurants serving nice meals at interesting prices (Stella Maris, Il brigante, MarkJoseph steakhouse, Suteishi,...). During our stay we had a quiet room on the 5th floor. The staff was always friendly and willing to help. I would come back at any time and will definetely recommand the hotel & seaport neighborhood !!! Air conditioning a little bit noisy.
Transportation hub nearby. The room is tight. Barely any space to place a big bags.
The very quiet location, for New York (when emergency vehicles were not sounding off). The comfortable bed. Yes, we very much missed a coffee-maker. We did not use the snack center.
I booked one room with 2 beds but they gave me a room with only one bed... and charged me for the first!!!! :-(
Cleanliness of the room and bed; proximity to my destination Lack of restaurants near the hotel
Does exactly what it says on the tin....clean,great staff... Good value.
It was convenient to the Wall Street and Broad Street businesses. The room was clean and comfortable, perfect for an overnight stay.
Small hotel but very comfortable with rooms funished to a very good standard. Very comfortable beds - loved the duvets and the pillows were the best I've ever slept on! Good location as although not in mid town it is very convenient for the subway so getting around was very easy. The only problem encountered was the fact people didn't know where the hotel (or Nassau street) was located! ie airport shuttle, taxis. Think this is largely down to the fact the hotel is so new. Just tell them it's a couple of blocks in from Ground Zero - which they should have heard of!
I liked the modern comfort in the rooms. They were typical city sized rooms but they were clean and had everything that was advertised. I also really liked the fact that we weren't in Times Square or other very very busy areas because we could sleep at night with almost no noise. Finally, because it is literally a 2 minute walk from the nyse and Wall Street (and the 1-2-3 metro direct to Times Square & Penn Station) it was extremely secure as there is security 24 hours a day 7 days a week guarding the stock exchange. The only thing I didn't like was that we asked for 4 towels for our Queen room (we had one king room for 2 people and one queen room for 4) and we didn't get a 4th towel.
Friendly staff, nice rooms, quick elevator, exceptional rate See comment on question no. 1
The room with two double beds is very small for four people
The ability to be able to travel anywhere in new york, its proximity to subway and bus stops. Good food nearby as well.
