location, honesty of one of the staff telling us not to eat there. e-mailed me one price, when I got to hotel, quoted me another price.
Great location, at an NYC cheap price. The room got completely dark at night. I couldn't hear much noise from the street or any noise from other rooms. The hotel itself was well kept and I felt safe. The comforter on the bed was only mostly clean, and the door to the bathroom was dirty also. You can clearly hear whatever is going on in the hallway, even when your door is closed. The bed wasn't sower comfortable.
We loved the layout of the room, the cleanliness, the speed of the elevators. Even staying directly next to the elevator wasn't a problem. Staff were very nice. The glass wall separating the bathroom from the bedroom is a big problem for us. I can't think of anyone I'd be comfortable staying in this room with. If I were alone, it'd be great.
Great location, yes the rooms are small hence the name Pod however you're in New York, you're not really spending much time in them. The rooms are very modern and the shower is great.
Very comfortable, cozy bed, with quality mattress and bedding. Great location. Speedy, polite left-luggage service. Way too intimate a space for two people unless you're really, really close. And even then you better not be claustrophobic or have a lot of stuff. You could practically touch all four walls standing in the middle of the room. The bathroom has a not-sealed or soundproof, sliding frosted glass door, like a shower, with no privacy whatsoever. Snotty eye-rolling wenches with attitude at the front desk on check-in, but extremely nice gentleman at check-out almost made up for it.
I really enjoyed my stay at Pod39. The hotel was very nicely decorated, definitely a "trendy" hotel. I know they have many room options - I stayed in the bunk bed room which was very small and New York-like. The beds were really comfortable. I would most recommend this place for people traveling alone or with a small group (although the bigger rooms might be good for families - there is a bar/restaurant attached to the lobby, though, so keep that in mind). The price was quite good for an NYC hotel, and the location was great - I was able to walk to all the Broadway theatres as well as Koreatown near Herald Square. Also fairly close to a subway station and Grand Central. Overall I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here and would definitely stay here again! The room was so small there was no ironing board - I didn't ask the front desk what my options were because my clothes weren't that badly wrinkled, so there may be a way to get your clothes ironed. It's not that big of a deal, really!
Clean, compact and great for an overnight business trip You have to request an iron and ironing board ... other than that, it's fine.
Location Everything other than location
Great shower and comfortable bed. Awesome location. Very small. Needed one more mirror and had a great place on the empty wall above the desk. Peep hole in the door had been pushed out and was filled with toilet paper. Bathroom sink was clogged up and wouldn't drain even after maintenance supposedly fixed it. Didn't have extra rolls of toilet paper and had to go to front desk to request more. Also no ice machine. Had to go downstairs to the bar and they looked at us like we were crazy when we ask them for a cup of ice.
In a city where 3 star hotels are above $250 per night, POD 39 rises at a fenominal location, with modern clean and fresh look at a fraction of the price.... Staff is excellent and the rooms are small- cruise ship size, but that's a great compromise for the bvenefits you get... HVAC system was great and the shower is the best ever.... Some of the electrical outlets didnt work and could not be fixed..
Clean, good location Not enough elevators, pretty loud at night
Checked in after a long flight from Australia at 11pm. Room was not made up and bathroom was disgusting. Went to receptionist who allocated us another room - same result. Demanded a refund, and went and checked in at the Westin. Very disappointed.
Extremely small rooms. Loud air conditioner. Needs work
I liked the location and for the most part the room was clean and the bed was nice. I didn't like how most of the hotel was not updated and the valet service took a while.
I went with my girlfriend and her 17yr old sister. Everything was perfect. The front desk personnel were more then accommodating and the room was beautiful. the hotel itself was great. I couldn't have asked for anything more!!
The location for the cost is imcomparable. I will definitely put this on the list next time. Front desk and bar staff were not service oriented. Bar prices are... well... it's NYC.
The bed was very comfortable. Yes I was just surprised by the sheer number of things wrong. As we walked in we both thought. This is beautiful. As we checked in I was told I booked a king bed and I stated I booked a double. I showed the woman ( name omitted) my reservation and she said that a double room just means two people. Fine fine my mistake, I moved on. When we got to the room the heater was making a noise that sounded like an animal was in it. The shower frame was not attached to the wall, the shower door had no way to pull it closed from the inside, the shelf in the bathroom was slanted downward, as was the top of the toilet tank so nothing staying on it. I am a normal sized woman and I was I a difficult time getting dressed in the bathroom due to size. Check out is st noon as in many hotels, at 9 there was a knock on the door. When I answered it the cleaning staff was there and asked when I was checking out. I told them 12. At 1049 there was a knock again, the same staff member asked when I was leaving. Now you may say did you say anything... I tried. I tried calling twice ( was only there one night) no answer and wentdownstairs countless times, but as I was on a quick fun trip I didn't want to waste time. I was just surprising disappointed my my stay and it was compounded when I checked out and then checked into my next hotel, that for only 30 $ more, I not only had the amenities of a " normal room, I was actually given a premier room with a view, corner ceiling to floor windows, A kitchenette, complimentary unlimited filtered water, complimentary breakfast and a staff that was above and beyond. All of this just a few minutes from the roisevelt.
Good location, nice lobby, Good complimentary toiletries Bathroom small, outdated, with no space to lay personal stuff. Floor seemed to be dirty. Carpet very dusty on the edges, corners and behind the bed. It looks like the housekeeper doesn't have a canister vacuum to reach those places. Bad smell coming from moldy air conditioner. Front desk didn't respond our calls, we ask for a coffee maker to the bell man but they never brought it. We called the bell man for somebody to bring us the kart but they never came. Overall staff is friendly but not efficient.
Nothing Up all night with bad radiator. Phones did not work or they did not pick up. Rooms are old and dated. Elevator takes forever. $52 for a basic continental breakfast. Go to a diner
It's located near major attractions and it's the room assigned to my family and myself is a good size room. That it did not include continental breakfast
In general the staff was nice and accommodating. In particular the concierge named Aisha (spelling?) was extremely kind and helpful. The room was clean, and got the job done. I would stay here again as it was a great value and location. My 'Cosy Queen' was pretty small. If I had another person sharing the room, it would have definitely been too small. But for myself it was fine, but not for the clastrophobic!
Everything was pleasant except the amount of external noise you can hear in your room, both from inside the hotel halls and the street noise. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Excessive noise from external sources
Location was great Elevators were impossible. Had to wait upwards of 10-15 minutes for an elevator to reach the 10th floor, every single time we used them. Actually opted to take the stairs a few times to save time. Toilet in the room ran for almost 5 minutes after every flush. We were locked out of our room at 1130am, 30 minutes prior to checkout time. The "breakfast bar" in the hotel lobby had nothing but coffee and 2 bananas left at 10am, with no other options provided. We did not get a receipt at checkout, either, nor was one emailed to us. And lastly, we waited for almost 30 minutes for our car to be brought around at checkout because the driver was waiting for the doorman to call him to come around (which he did as soon as we came outside).
The complimentary happy hour in the lobby was a nice treat for hotel guests. Although, there seemed to be many attendees who were not hotel guests. I didn't like the smell in the hotel or my room. It smelled like pets and found out later the hotel was pet friendly - not a fan. I also didn't care for the decor in the hallways or room I stayed in. It seemed very dated and in desperate need of some modern updating. I also felt the complimentary toiletries were very disappointing and so was the $5.99 charge for printing tickets from a desk computer (labeled business center - very weak). The housekeeping service was very, very noisy each morning and the rooms weren't cleaned up to normal hotel standards.
Nice staff very helpful great experience front desk excellent would recommend highly
Great location and valet parking
Location was great and staff were courteous. Decor is modern. Shower was dirty on arrival with hair from prior guest. When arriving we turned on the lights and a cockroach scurried across the floor. The room was hot and The air conditioner didn't work.
Staff and room.
Whenever I visit NYC, I always stay at Affinia. Great hotel. Friendly staff, large clean rooms. Excellent location.
Clean and spacious room The only reason why i booked this hotel is for the rooftop and you guys completly ruined my stay by closing the rooftop for a private event the ONE day i booked. Good to know that no matter how much cash you shell out youll still get beat over the head because of rich people wanting to close off a whole area of a hotel. Horriible experience.
They charge $14.95 for wifi in your room. The Lobby furniture is very old no back support. & Very saggy
The rooms were large and well appointed. They were clean and quiet. A bit dark decor and lighting in the lobby area.
Older building, recently updated. Lots of charm, yet very modern. Location wad terrific. Hotel was spotless. Pillows on bed were small.
Easy check in and check out - all on a computer. Nice staff, perfect location for business on the east side. My window was open the whole time and I couldn't figure out how to close it. The heating was VERY loud.
Clean and modern bathroom, plenty of room for a nyc hotel room. The purified filtered water on every floor was amazing! The terrace was lovely.
Staff was very pleasant and it was simple to extend an additional night. Cost of marketplace!! Noise was easily heard in hallway.
I did like the location and the fast check in. Room service was nice and fast! I did not like that I got a $30 per day upgrade and the room was still real small. Got a view of the side of another. Also, no shuttle to airport. Housekeeping didn't give extra towels at checkin as requested online. Wish I hadn't upgraded!
Location Room smelled, they tried to not offer our booked room type. Even after calling and confirming the day of.
Very good ambiance in lobby and also bedroom. Very nice experience during entire stay. Closer access to all main attractions & restaurants in NewYork. Value for money in major city. No hotel valet parking so need to find other valet parking nearby.
We were on the 36th floor and most of the elevators were broken during our stay. Was difficult getting to and from our room. We had to use the service elevator many times.
Location Cleanliness Restaurant organization Front desk layout
This location is awesome!!! Can not beat it! Room was too hot and would not cool Elevators were SLOW - seemed liked only one was working
proximity to train station, snack bar in lobby, restaurant just up from the lobby dirty bathroom floor, poor unkeep in bathroom--sloppy caulking around shower door, built-up crud around shower area, couldn't get into shower without walking directly under shower head. Worst problem was the "modern" touch light switches---couldn't leave a light on in the bathroom to see your way there in the middle of the night. Difficult to use all lights. Dark décor--depressing and dark wallpaper installed poorly--all you noticed were the seams in the wallpaper
Location was excellent. Lack of options in the neighbourhood for affordable food, unless you wish to tempt fate and eat from a cart of death on the street. Gave us some credit for our hot room. Room was hot, hot, hot. Ac could not keep up. Went down to front desk to ask for assistance. They tried to find a fan but could not( 2:30 am don't blame them). The next day we had to get maintenance up the next day and they found us a fan.
staff very helpful elevators out of svce at times
Great access to grand central station, i.e. don't even have to go outside. Beautiful modern lobby, with dedicated elevators, so short wait times. Nice rooms, modern. Black mildew inside shower curtain. Did not swap out all towels after first evening so had to have face cloths and hand towels delivered. Maids talking in hallway while cleaning rooms early in the morning (my biggest pet peave).
Location beside central station, suite was big and had fridge and coffee maker which is essistial when u have been out shopping all day Could have drinks machine in lobby (bottle water etc)
location the sink in the bathroom was too small.
Very close to Grand Central Station and the Metro and also a good location for walking to many of the major attractions.
Simplicity Small room, but it's ok
the closeness to Grand central and the faclities of central New York could not be better bathrooms could do with an upgrade but a relatively minor problem
Friendly clean and fantastic location
Excellent Location for city break. View from room window.
Large suite but basic and near Grand Central and perfectly adequate for a city trip. Hotel needs a makeover. No double glazing so rooms at front has lots of traffic noise. No blankets in room or spare pillows. Old and tired! We asked concierge about travel detais on the subway and he simply shrugged his shoulders and left us to find out ourselves.
Staff very prompt, room was not as booked but problem was dealt with very quickly. Even though we were on the 16 floor it was still very noisy
Location Bad functioning TV, old TV models. Poor internet wi-fi.
Although an old hotel, everything was very clean. Poor window isolations, you have to keep the air conditioning on all the time to avoid street noizes. As everything about NYC accomodations, the prices are ridiculously high.
plenty of room the road works but that's New York
FYI the rooms are real real small. Didn't bother me.
Nothing. Third party booked stay then went bankrupt. No email or advance notice. Hotel receptionist extremely rude and antagonistic. Not enough decency to offer comparable rate to alleviate situation. Never again.
Hotel stay was right on point after a long day thanks
Nice efficient hotel and very conveniently located. The room was of okayish size. The attached washroom was rather awkward - can't lock the door and the wash basin was too small leading to water spilling all over the place. One day the room could not be cleaned and when we complained, the manager himself came for the apology and also offered compensating action which was very nice of him.Elevators are quick. Washroom
only bad thing was the small rooms other than that it was good
Elizabeth in housekeeping was a tremendous help in getting bedding and towels for us!!! She was pleasant while we were all very angry about the bed situation. Thank you Elizabeth! Long wait for checkin. Need more staff at front desks. I reserved a room with 2 double beds for 4 people. I called twice to confirm and reiterate that I wanted 2 double beds. At checkin I said I needed 2 double beds(this was at 1:30pm) Receptionist said yes I see that is what you requested. I was told room was not ready and they would call be about 3pm when room was ready which they did. Again, a long wait for receptionist, she gave me keys to room which had a king size bed and pull out sofabed!!! I called front desk to get a room with 2 double beds as I requested and they said they had no more and because I booked with a third party (travelocity) they could do nothing about it as rooms are not guarenteed (bed types). I am angry about this situation and will rethink ever staying at a Westin hotel and I will also rethink about using travelocity.
Very close to the subway and Grand Central Station. 24 hour luggage storage after checkout and the staff was very friendly. It is on a busy street due to the location and you can hear some traffic from the room but it wasn't too loud, especially for NYC it wasn't too bad.
Great location, comfy beds Initial room was unmade, shower was clogged, but issues were rectified immediately when brought to their attention Wifi is not free
Near to Grand Central Roadside noise was too loud
Easy access to Grand Central and in the heart of NYC.
We thought the place was clean and a good value for the money spent. It was an excellent location. Room was small but we expected that in NYC.
Nice staff Generally clean Great Restaurant A great basic hotel for someone on business by themselves who does not need many extras. No real hotel lobby Machine coffee No real concierge Very small room for a couple with 2 suitcases No real breakfast (snack bars put out)
The 27th floor lounge
Everything works. Very efficient use of space. Nice restaurant downs stairs. GREAT location across the street from GCT. No front desk to speak of. Off putting at first, but it works well.
A lot of street noise and elevator noise from my room Are there any Whitehouse options?
Issue with we form in first two categories. I was a business/solo traveler. The rating section was operating.
Room size comfort cleanliness and contemporary A little further from Times Square than I expected and the staff was unfriendly
friendly staff queen bed advertised as king
The bed was really comfortable and the room very quiet for New York. I think the shower was recently renovated and was terrific. The rain-style shower head was mounted high so that you didn't have to duck under it and there was also shower wand if you needed it. I also loved that the HD TV had HD cable so that we weren't constantly watching images that were squeezed or stretched. The staff was really friendly and helpful. The only negative was that they're remodeling the bar and restaurant so there was no food or drink available other than room service and the continental breakfast. When that's finished it should be a big improvement.
14th floor room was VERY quiet. Great for NYC.
The bed was one of the most comfortable I've ever slept in! The room was very large for NYC and the shower head (rain shower) in the bathroom was amazing!! I also liked that there was a long hallway separating the door, bathroom, closet and vanity from the bedroom. Great location - close to Grand Central. There was a wonderful breakfast place a couple of blocks away (Zucker's) that we visited a couple of times - excellent quality and price. I was only able to reserve a King size bed online and would have liked 2 double beds. The hotel was going to accomodate us with 2 beds, but wanted $50 more a night. They did upgrade us to a larger studio that had 2 comfortable chairs and a table, which was great!
The room was bigger than we anticipated. It was really big. The location is great; very close to grand central station. It was quiet and better than staying in times square. There were several restaurants near by and 5th avenue was just a few blocks away. Hotel staff was very nice and helpful. We were pleased. The fixtures in the bathroom were coming off the walls. Cleanliness was a tiny bit off. Looked like either blood or ketchup on the curtains (I am going with ketchup). Need to stay above 7th floor or you will hear the music from the lounge. Could have used a microwave/refrigerator.
Room size was bigger than avg. in NYC Mattress was comfortable Zero noise on 14F TV was great quality Pillows were uncomfortable to rest on. Nothing else we found uncomfortable or bad to review. that's it. SP
Unbelievably, my tiny room did not have a dresser. When I inquired about this the indifferent desk manager told me that the smaller rooms sometimes did not come with one! Living in this room out of my bag for five nights was a joy. Upon check out, there were three different staff members at the desk, none of whom could comprehend that there was not a dresser. So they went to check it out --- and big surprise, no dresser. (Apparently they were concerned that I was blind.) No apology, no offer of discount, no reasonable explanation. Had it not been a completely packed week in New York, I would have fled the first night. Oh, the shades didn't work properly either. Never again.
Staff was amazing, room was fabulous. I usually stay at the Dream-Downtown and the rooms here are bigger (as is the bathroom). Overall a great value for my money. No actual lobby or bar to hang out in..
Hotel was clean and quiet, staff was friendly. Well located close to Grand Central station. Rooms were spacious for NYC and well appointed.
clean rooms, large for nyc, super helpful and friendly staff!!!
Very intimate feel. Stepping off the streets is stepping into a calm and elegant world. Love the attached ba, Wheeltapper,r that has outdoor seating, which is covered and heated in the winter. I only saw it in the winter but it a great little spot. Central but hidden courtyard. I would definitely go back to this hotel. Would've been nice to have coffee in the lobby and more lobby seating. That area was nicely done but hard to linger.
The location was excellent, and the room was very comfortable, well appointed and clean. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Special thanks to the girl from Nicaragua tending the bar. Our room, which faced the bar in the garden, was a bit noisy in the early evening.
Common sitting areas have nice ambiance and rooms are comfortable and well appointed. Did not expect the contiguous Irish Restaurant & Bar which served excellent food. Provided a much more upscale experience than the price tag prmised Only thing that did not work was the in room phone connections to the front desk and other services but the staff quickly compensated.
Love the Wheeltapper pub. Love Irish feel of the hotel. Centrally located near GCS and 4.5,6 trains Very nice staff Cozy rooms Small rooms Wifi not free in rooms
Bathroom well appointed but very small Bedding very comfortable as was A/C Staff very friendly and helpful, Room also felt very clean. Found the bedroom & bathroom to be small, even for NY.
The staff was very nice and most accomodating when I arrived and my room wasn't ready due to a late departing flight crew. They put me in another room that was larger than the one I had booked. The hotel was in a great location and convenient to many attractions. There is a great sandwich shop just around the corner as well. I will definitely stay with them again when I go back to NYC.
This was a quiet and comfortable hotel. It has an on sight restaurant and bar. Staff very accommodating. Room temperature just right and bed comfy.
The Pub was authentic and nice. We had small problem with our door lock, The staff solved our problems relatively fast .
Service, service, service! What a welcome surprise, a hotel with carrying employees! Bravo! Room would have been too small for 2 people but it was fine for 1
Location was excellent - great for for shopping in midtown. Staff was very helpful and customer-oriented. Room was on the small side but well laid out. Hotel restaurant has live music concerts.
service was outstanding!!
We traveled to NYC to watch a friend run in the NYC Marathon. The Kitano was walking distance to Grand Central Station. The staff was pleasant and very helpful. We asked to store or bags, because we arrived several hours early. They were able to have a room available for us within 10 minutes. The room was great. We would definitely stay again and recommend it without any reservation.
The staff on all levels were extremely pleasant and helpful. The hotel is centrally located so we were able to walk to most of our destinations. The rooms were very clean and the amenities were very nice and upscale. Highly recommend! I didn't stay long enough to try the restaurant in the hotel. I want to book another visit soon or at least try to visit the restaurant on a future visit, even if I can't stay at the Kitano!
We really enjoyed the Kitano Hotel. We went as a family to enjoy a weekend there but I used to be a travel agent and this is the perfect location for a business trip to New York depending on where your office is. It's at the corner of Park and E. 38th. We got it through Kayak and simply picked it for price and location. It ended up being the perfect hotel for us. It's located very close to Grand Central Station and therefore easy train access to the rest of Manhattan but it's location also lended itself to walking. There are a few nice restaurants in that area that we enjoyed walking to and, of course, a Starbucks just a little over a block away. The hotel is basic in what it offers but what it does offer is nice. We ate lunch at one of its restaurants and it was very good food and the entire staff was very friendly and accommodating. We didn't eat there for dinner but we heard pleasant music coming from one of their restaurants as we walked out one night. The rooms are small and rather basic but that's all we needed for our purposes. We don't spend time in our hotel when we are in a city like New York so it all worked out. The beds are surprisingly comfortable and the bathroom was nice. Overall I'd highly recommend this hotel to anyone going to Manhattan for family or business travel. It was all great and we'd stay there again. Frankly we loved this hotel but the rooms were a little small. If you need room to spread out you'd need to go elsewhere. We had two adults and an adult "kid" and we found it just fine for our purposes though so this was not a problem for us at all.
Common areas were nice! Restaurant was very nice and elegant. The staff was exceptionally friendly and truly helpful. Shower needs improvement and even repair. Besides the shower, bathroom was very good for NYC. Bed was very soft and pillows were mediocre.
Terrific location. Guest Services were very helpful. Housekeeping was not up to par with rest of hotel features and services.
Larger room, bathroom large enough, shower worked well, friendly accommodating.staff. Later checkout time, shouldn't charge for computer access.
Great location! Hotel was within walking distance of pretty much everything! Staff was extremely friendly & accomodating. when in NY again for fun, this would be the first place I would look to book. Not overpriced but still seemed like a luxury stay. Thanks Marriott! Nothing. the stay was amazing
Hotel was excellent! Everyone was very friendly and helpful. The room was very nice and clean with very comfortable bed. Very close to the sites. 10 minute walk from Rockefeller, 20 minute to Time Square. Very safe area, would definitely recommend.
The location was great. Walking distance to Grand Central Station. The bathroom was clean and the bed was really comfortable. The staff were friendly and the concierge was somewhat helpful. The first thing I noticed is that the staff were not dressed very neatly. As I struggled with my bags and getting into the lobby the doorman didn't help at all. Then when I got up to my floor I smelled a strange odor, almost like a skunk, and then in my room it smelled like mildew the entire time I was there. I had to spray my cologne all over the room so I wouldn't smell it when I was trying to fall asleep. The blanket on the bed looked dirty like it was covered in dog hair so I didn't even touch that and also everything felt sticky in the room. I also didn't receive a courtesy call to assure everything was ok with the room.
The staff was so nice and went above and beyond to be as helpful as they could. Mario was a wonderful door man that was able to compensate the trouble we had with our door. Chris and Danny helped my mom and I get metro cards so we could use the subway to travel around the city. Danny physically walked us to the train station to show us where to buy the metro cards. We had issues with the door to our room the entire stay, the key card wouldn't work after ten minutes of being programmed.
Staff was awesome and very accomodative Free Raid-The-Mini-Bar Card Rooms were tiny (even by NY standards) Hotel felt a bit claustrophobic in general
Location Good deals always have windows against next building with no view
Enjoyed comfortable beds, coffe shop and evening wine that was complimentary. Stayed there with wife and two teenage children - bathroom was too small!
Rooms were large (for New York) and comfortable. Bathroom was large. Staff was friendly. Very close to Grand Central Terminal. Quiet at night. Food prices at Silverleaf were not posted and VERY high!
Easy to get to fom Laguardia. Room nice, clean , quiet, temperature control worked well, staff efficient and nice. Twenty min walk to Harold Squire, MSG, Penn Station, 5 min to Grand Central. Good value hotel.
The staff was excellent. Small bathrooms. Phone system not working properly.
Great Staff, very good location for us. Were always cheerful from the front desk to front door and especially the service people. Would recommend outright with the exception of noise. Had very noisy neighbors next to us. Sound traveled easily through the walls. Traffic noise was also pretty apparent.
The location and friendly staff
The location is great for anyone coming from Long Island. I really like knowing that Kimpton always welcomes pets. Fire alarm battery needed to be replaced. I ended up taking it out to make the beeping stop. I told the front desk, but they didn't seem bothered. The thermostat was held to the wall with tape. It came loose and the batteries did as well. I don't know if I received awards points or not, but I'm not sure I care. Kimpton wouldn't honor the lower price I found on hotels.com; so, I didn't book the room through them.
Small hotel with a relaxed atmosphere. It's location is in the perfect position for the top sights and not too far to the main shops. The petite rooms are very small
Friendly, great amenities! We stayed in the "Money" room- the books were all 10years plus old- this was disappointing!
The staff were verfy polite and did their best to provide a very good sdervice
Staff is great !! Very welcoming and very eager to serve the client at best The room was very nice but a little bit more space would not have hurt ... now remember this is NY, so not really a complaint. Also, noise isolation could be enhanced (we were at the 12th floor but still heard a bit too much what was happening in the street)
Clean and comfortable rooms - well air conditioned. The breakfast included in the rate was very good. The cheese and wine afternoon tea was also excellent and a great way to meet the different guests in the hotel. It is well located for all the sights of New York. The staff were able to make good dinner recommendations and never failed to impress.
Good location, personal service and has character Was very expensive which I dont think reflect the facilities available (eg no spa)
Hotel was in a great location to explore and the staff were attentive without being over-bearing. Great hotel.
liked Everything. Excellent hotel
location/ nice rooms with robes, slippers and complimentary water. Also breakfast included although basic and free wine early evening.
Location was excelllent. The reception staff were extremely helpful and polite, nothing was too much trouble for them. Fantastic facilities. very comfortable hotel.
Cleanliness, size of room, bathroom was exceptional, location was great, staff was great, wine on check in was great The bed did not have a sheet, which was odd and made me think of sanitary issues from prior guests.
Great location, with free wine at happy hour . Room was largest and nicest I've ever had in Manhattan. Shortly after returning home I realized I was covered in bedbug bites. I contacted the hotel and they say they checked the room and found no evidence. Still, I was affected for over 2 weeks with terrible itching and discomfort.
The staff is knowledgeable and kind. Helpful all the time. The decorations and rooms are spacious and elegant. Clearly a top-tier hotel. Everything was perfect.
The location is good. The hotel is nowhere near as it is advertised 4 1/2 stars. It is a 2 1/2 to 3 stars at best. Furniture is old. Terrace rooms not worth the extra money at all. View of an office building directly across. No way should this room be a The reception desk upon entering the lobby looks like a construction zone. It's a 2 1/2 - 3 stars at best. The desk the receptionists use looks like something they picked up at a garage sale. The rooms are so dated the wood floors are worn out.
Perfect Midtown Location. Ultra modern, comfortable accommodations. It was great for a short stay, but for a longer stay, didn't have much area to store clothes.
Complimentary wine hours and coffee in the am. Also free minibar soda and water!

the amount of space of the room and the modern decor there wasnt 24 hr room service and the menu was rather lacking in choices. Also didn't like the reception and lobby area...it was to open and no place to sit and relax
Best hotel experience ever! Very sleek, staff was fantastic!
Good deal in a great location. Tired - in definite need of a refresh. The small, supposedly chic lobby area, overwhelmed by surrounding non-guest revenue, gets old for residents very quickly.
