The lobby is wonderful. The staff are tremendous. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, although one was a bit noisy. But we were moved without fuss and very efficiently. Coffee and tea making equipment is by request. Good restaurant and bar. The noisy room.
The location Not the standart I expected, room to small, air conditioning to noise.
Everything seemed to be fairly updated except the bed. The bathroom was nicely updated and everything operated on clear controls. Lobby is nice, interesting artwork. The bed definitely needed to be replaced. The room also was difficult to work in as it only had a small table and the chair wasn't good for this task either. Toilet was so close to the vanity that I actually was forced over sitting on it.

It has everything you could need in a compact package! Great location! If it had a mini fridge and microwave it would be the best place to stay in NYC for the money!

The staff were friendly and so helpful. The rooms were beautiful. The location was wonderful. Easy to walk anywhere you want to go. Loved it. I will be back.
Easy location. Noise levels from road were quite loud. You can't sit in the bar area without buying a drink, even if you are a hotel patron. I had forgotten my phone charge and the hotel staff was not helpful in providing a temporary replacement, perhaps from lost and found. Instead I was referred to an overpriced in-house gift shop trying to sell me a micro-usb cable for 15-20$. Check-in is late at 4:00 pm. Room was tiny.
My wife and I stayed at the Palace many years ago and this stay was the first under Lotte's ownership. It's a big hotel, so it lacked the intimacy of some place like the Lowell Carlyle or the Plaza Athenee. That said, it's considerably less expensive, unless you are in the Towers. What I found remarkable was the consistency of staff attitude. Friendly, appropriately personal, attentive, and helpful. $50 for a simple breakfast (farro porridge with fruit, coffee, and a freshly made vegetable juice, was a new high (or low, depending on how you look at it) for New York. Delicious for sure, but pricey.
Nice ambiance. Good elevators to get to room efficiently Poor housekeeping. Bathroom smelled musty. They forgot to leave washcloths one time. Then forgot to leave shampoo another time. When we called for shampoo to shower took 1.5 hours to come. Also asked for blankets when checked in which never came.

The location was great and the terrace in the back was quite nice. Also the free internet access was great! As I arrived late I did not get the single room I reserved instead one of the bunk bed rooms. The room was a bit run down and the TV did not work. Also it was quite noisy and smelled of beer as other travellers were partying in their room. What I really did not like was that they checked me out before the check out time.I returned to the hotel before 12pm to check out and all my things were gone. The staff put my belongings in a plastic bag and stored it at the front desk.

Location was great and staff were courteous. Decor is modern. Shower was dirty on arrival with hair from prior guest. When arriving we turned on the lights and a cockroach scurried across the floor. The room was hot and The air conditioner didn't work.
Location was fantastic. Close to the action but extremely quiet once you get inside. The rooms were modern, clean and comfortable with a nice bathroom. Staff were friendly and helpful. This hotel lacked a few of the services you typically expect, such as room service, on-site gym and laundry service (although dry cleaning service is available), but this is not a major problem and is justified by the lower room rates compared to the bigger hotels in this area. Would definitely stay here again!
Good Location room too small
Location was great, staff was amazing and prices were unbelievable for a Manhattan stay during NY Now! David, the front desk manager really made us feel welcomed, especially since it was the first time we were traveling with our dog. We were treated with care and loved the size of our room #3212 and proximity to the subway. Would surely stay there again and in fact booked another Westin because of the experience.
Nothing. Third party booked stay then went bankrupt. No email or advance notice. Hotel receptionist extremely rude and antagonistic. Not enough decency to offer comparable rate to alleviate situation. Never again.
The staff was so nice and went above and beyond to be as helpful as they could. Mario was a wonderful door man that was able to compensate the trouble we had with our door. Chris and Danny helped my mom and I get metro cards so we could use the subway to travel around the city. Danny physically walked us to the train station to show us where to buy the metro cards. We had issues with the door to our room the entire stay, the key card wouldn't work after ten minutes of being programmed.

Simplicity Small room, but it's ok
There was hot water and that's literally about the only thing I can think of that I liked about this hotel. If you've stayed at any other Curio hotel and are thinking this will be a similar experience, I've got bad news for you: this is an awful hotel. 1. The room layout is horrible, most of the rooms face the brick wall of an adjacent building (and you can hear their external AC window units running); 2. the AC is tiny and cannot properly cool the rooms (which are VERY tiny by NYC standards); 3. The elevators are slow, bumpy, and small causing you to wait 15 minutes to catch one not full of people and luggage; 4. The room service is not up to any normal standards. They have shampoo, conditioner, and body wash dispensers in the shower which are empty and surrounded by mold and mildew -- a health nightmare; 5. NOISE: expect to hear anyone cough, sneeze, turn on a lamp, or zip up a bag from an adjacent room or any room on your floor; and 6. Poor bathroom layout -- there is NO room to put anything on the counter in the bathroom. Don't expect to get ready very easily in this hotel as there is no full-length mirror either! This should NEVER received the Curio brand from Hilton. The hotel is by far the biggest disappointment I've ever seen as a Diamond member.
