The location was excellent. In the centre of theatreland. The room was good. Everything was lovely and clean. The bed was really comfortable as were the pillows. Plus, all the bedding smelled fresh, including the towels.
There was no lighting over the desk on which stood the coffee machine. A wall light was on the opposite wall, making the room a little dim. Not really bright enough therefore to write my notes/postcards in the evenings. Outside my windows was a small balcony-type area (not for walking out onto) which had more than 20 cigarette ends lying around, plus a black rubbish bag, which was not cleaned up/collected during my stay.
Great place in a perfect ubication. The breakfast's optins were wonderfull!
This hotel was extremely central in NYC. We had no issues navigating around the inner city the staff where extremely helpful and provided directions. Rooms where very comfortable and cleaned everyday it was a delight. If I was to go and stay in NYC and wish to be in walking distance to all attractions this is the place.
Stayed in a Signature Suite, which has more room than needed for one person. Just the bedroom was larger than most hotel rooms in NYC. Location can't be beat, especially for the price.
Furniture in the living/sitting room was a little worn and weary. It was oddly and sparsely furnished too. I think that this may be due to the fact that many guests use it as a second bedroom rather than an actual living/sitting room.
Hotel Edison is a beautiful, modern hotel situated right in the heart of downtown New York City. Visitors to the Big Apple will relish this top-end art deco hotel as it is within walking distance of Broadway and Times Square. Of course, there is a lot more to see near the hotel then just Times Square. Visitors can go and explore the International Center of Photography, The Museum of Modern Art, Morgan Library and Museum, American Folk Art Museum, and much more.
Within the hotel, guests have a few different dining options to explore. The Rum House is an upscale urban cocktail lounge with the menu of a casual tiki bar. While thirsty guests can try just about any drink, the specialty here is decidedly on rum cocktails and rare rums for sampling. Bond 45 is an upscale Italian restaurant that spans two different floors. Finally, there is Friedman's a health-forward eatery that specializes in incredible gluten-free dishes.
The Edison has three different room types: Classic, Signature, and Suite. The Suites are the largest of the rooms with the most amenities as well. These amenities include high-speed Wi-Fi, complimentary newspapers, Keurig coffee makers, Frette linens, C.O. Bigelow bath amenities, mini fridge, and a crisp 42" LCD flat screen HDTV. All of the rooms can be reserved in either one or two-bed configurations depending on how many guests will be there for the duration of the stay.
