I don't think anything has changed in 50 years and it's all very tired. I don't even like modern things really but there is no charm and it feels like the hotel has been ignored for a long time
We had a small suite and the room was very spacious, unlike many other NYC hotels. The bedding was not as luxurious as I would have liked. I could have used an extra blanket or two.
Good location The hotel felt tired, although to be fair, work is being done to improve it
I have stayed at this hotel in numerous occasions and think its a good location . The front staff at the initial check in were the rudest staff I have ever met.I felt in this occasion they were despicable.I would therefore think very carefully before staying there again !
The only thing we liked about the hotel was the location. The rooms were very small and filthy dirty. The staff was really rude. It was difficult to understand the English of the people working at the front desk and some of them were nasty.
Nice position, good place to stay for shopping, city trip, and broadway shows. Nice view of the city from my room! room could be cleaner, average hotel staff, small room
Good service, central location and not much noise. Missing Internet-café, as we did not bring the lap top with us.
the fact that is in the centre of NY rooms are very small and avg 200 $/night is too much
The location is perfect for shopping and sighseeing. Hotel has 2 restaurants serving good quality food. It has a spacious lobby with fast check in and out facilities. It offers security safes at no charge. Security is very strict in the lobby before you enter elevators which makes female travellers feel very safe. There are lots of really good restaurants nearby in 7th Avenue and en route to Times Square. I loved everything about the New Yorker. There is nothing bad about this hotel.
the New Yorker hotel is in a perfect location for visiting and shopping and we really appreciate this. Maybe the difference of price according to the days of staying. they should make a special offer for those like us who stayed for an entire week.
VERYy convenient location Rooms a little small - but they're only for sleeping in!!!
Staff at reception - assistance for early. comfortable rooms, location is fabulous and rates very good
Location of the hotel was perfect for everything, not far from times square where all tours start from and close to all the shops. Also there was a brilliant concierge who was excellent in relation to tours, tips and information! The noise from outside, even on 28th floor, was disturbing for light sleepers, also only a minor thing but it would have been preferred if the safe deposit box was located in the room rather than having to queue at reception and sign a form everytime I had to access the box.
Reception staff, both at night and early morning were very courteous. Service at the bar was very good.I got to the Hotel late , needed a drink and goodnight.Other than that, room, bed, bathroom, the usual you find at any hotel. A little tight hallway
Location, location, location. In the middle of everything and the staff were fantastic. Toilets from very small bar area were down some very steep stairs in th basement. It would be an improvement if there was a safe in each room rather than only in reception.
Excellent location, 20 meters from 34st subway station, very close to Macy's, H&M. room was well equipped, staff was friendly.
Super service and friendly staff. Great location and just thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
The proximity of the hotel to Times Square, Madison Garden, Macy's and all the tourist attractions. The staff were very helpful and lovely. The size of the room is comfortable enough for 2 people. The bed is very comfortable and we loved the fact that we had a view of the Empire State Building!!! No porter/bell boy available to help us bring our luggage up/down.
The location is excellent! 1 block froom Empire State Building, metro just 20 meters from the entrance of the hotel. Running about 10 minutes from Central Park. Gym also excellent.
Excellent staff, beautiful modern rooms with great soundproofing. Location is perfect. Definitely my hotel for next stay in NY!
The location was ideal as i was there to do some shopping.I felt very safe and comfortable travelling without my partner. I was promised early check-in but hotel was totally booked
Staff were extremely helpful and friendly, room was spotlessly clean and facilities were adequate for a short, cost-effective stay in Mid-town
Nothing Everything, poor service, not clean, there was hair in the bath, a mouse in my room, rooms need updating. Cues to check in are rediculous. I can honestly say this is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in and will never go again or recommend to anyone. The only positive is the location, and to be honest I would rather stay further out and get a taxi into the city than stay here again
it is at the center of the city the room quality
how central it was staff seemed to be giving out to people a lot on the day I was there. The staff were efficient but not the friendliest
good service The hotel is to big.
I loved the position of the hotel and the comfort of the bed. That's all you needed really , it wasn't a big room but you knew That going in , the water was hot for such a big hotel and Whenever l needed help from reception etc it was not a problem. Didn't find the wifi coverage very good.
Location was good, not a superior room. Hotel offered a 30% dicount we paid over $200 a night not happy about paying the higher price. Told that I could not get the discount as I had booked through Booking.com Do they have any superior rooms as booked? Very poor quality of rooms offered. From some of the reviews I expected better.
Location Washer leaked. Never fixed, rubbish can was placed by hotel staff to collect water leak. A third world hospitality handling.
Nothing at all, I will never come back Rooms smelling bad, unacceptable breakfast, big delay for check in,
Location and convenience excellent. Rooms very average and generally inadequate space in them.
Very disapointined with facilities and value for money
location excellent internal decoration needs updating, rooms and corridors very b asic
we were checked in really quick . breakfast was enjoyable . staff at reception were realy helpful in directions and questions . dinner was very good in the evening and brendan bar was very enjoyable bar to drink in. but location location location ,would not be beaten heating system was noisy and lifts slow during busy times.but not bad enough to put us off staying here in the future
Very nice staff 206 should be a storage closet! Nestled between two fire doors, starting at 4am, the two fire doors slam prohibiting any sleep!!
They people were great Lack of coffee maker / limited to one coffee per day..
Room was acceptable Breakfast was a bit ad hoc and lacked taste in order and presentaion
The most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. Room was cold in November, as heat had not been turned on.
Perfect location, just a few steps from major stores and 15 min walk to Times Square. Friendly staff. Clean rooms. Just two elevators. For some rooms you could not control the heating, just the cooling air.
the bed was very comfortable and bug free..! could of done with tea/coffee facilities in room though, staff were brilliant.
It's a nice modern boutique feeling hotel. Staff was nice. After a night of jack hammering (location issue more than their fault) there was no hot water at all in the morning. They refunded a portion of my bill but it was brutal. They should consider also soundproofing the Windows more.
Location Rooms on 12th floor could be updated
The front desk staff was excellent. The linens were very nice. Blow dryer didn't work. Called housekeeping for clean towels and replacement blow dryer. Waited an hour. Never showed up. Later they cleaned room and left clean towels but no washcloths. It has potential just have not worked out all the kinks yet.
the location was great
Nice touches were that the lobby had a water dispenser with fresh fruits in the water and cookies were served at the lobby at certain times. Staff was attentive to our needs. Broken shower head- sprayed from the base. Tight quarters with barely enough room to move luggage for 3.
This was my first stay at Hilton Garden Inn Chelsea. I like everything about this hotel. Location is very good in mid-town Manhattan close to shops, clubs, bars. The customer service was ok. The room was big, very clean & comfortable. If you are in a mood for a Playboy TV channel it's free you can watch it in your room. I was on 19th floor the city view was ok nothing special. I will recommend this hotel to my friends & family. From 0-10 I'll give 9++++. Check-in is at 3pm. I arrived at 3:30 pm and my room was not ready I had to wait for 15 minutes in a lobby.
For New York this was a pretty good size room with 2 queen beds.
Customer service, reservation team and management all were pretty terrible. Provided no accomodation for a change or adjustment in reservation. In addition the front desk person was rude and abrupt when nobody else was even in the lobby. I left this hotel and went right next door to the cleaner and friendlier Hotel Indigo.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Clean room. Tasty free coffee in the lobby. Good sound proof wall so that we did not get bothered by young group's loud chatting next door through night. The only issue was the noise of the air conditioner heater.
It was a very basic hotel and rooms were on the small size, but it was exactly what we needed. We loved that there was a microwave and fridge in the room. Clean. Small clean lobby. Staff were generally very friendly. Nothing.
Everything was 100% perfect. Room was clean, bathroom was clean, view was nice. Staff was friendly and accommodating with our luggage needs etc. I chose to be on the highest floor to get the best view and we heard loud music coming from down the street or somewhere outside as we were going to bed. It eventually stopped, and no one complained of not getting a good night's sleep due to it.
The hotel was in a great location for sight seeing and the sub way. The hotel staff were friendly and accommodating. The rooms were clean. The beds were very comfortable. Although the breakfast was an "all you could eat". I thought $16.50 was a little over priced
Chose this hotel for the price/location. Obviously you don't exactly get what you're paying for in NYC, but it was a clean hotel that was just that, nothing special. They slap you with a $50 resort fee without telling you - was told I had no extra charges at checkout, and saw the charge on my credit card later.
The location on 28th Street is very central and convenient. One of the elevators didn't seem to be working very well and the other was very slow. Luckily I was on the 2nd floor, so I took the stairs, which were clean and well lit. It was pouring rain when I arrived and the front desk had no umbrellas to lend. It was also very loud from street noise in my room. Inside from the hallway was quiet, even though I was near the elevator.
Cleanliness of rooms and hotel as a whole. More attentive front desk staff. Assisted others before ourselves and other guests who were clearly lined up first.
Size of the room and location The beds could of been more comfortable
Everything about my stay at Hotel Indigo was perfection. The location is lovely-walking past the wholesale florists surrounding the hotel was delightful. The room was so well appointed and the staff was terrific. I will most definitely be back on my next NYC visit.
Location, Clean room, Modern Decor, Safe, Rooftop bar, Valet parking was same price as self parking in a garage, Good price for the value Room was small (as expected in NYC)
I liked the welcoming staff, the freak restaurant and the room was pretty good for the price I paid. I didn't know that there was a gym and a roof top bar. Found out only on my last day... The reception should have said that at the check in. The wifi was slow but I really have to say that the hotel answered my expectation and the staff was great and helpful. Will def go back
One of the elevators was broken. You had to wait forever to ride up to your room since they wouldn't let you take the stairs up. The elevator was broken our entire 4 days there.
The rooms are truly small and the sound proof of the windows is inexistent. The noise during night time is unbearable. The towels were old and worn, some of them had holes. The shower doesn't have a curtain and the results are catastrophic. The water runs all around the bathroom floor. The people at the front desk were not friendly, didn't speak English well and were kind of rude. The elevator broke during the week end and it was a nightmare to go up to the room.
Nice big comfy bed, friendly staff, nice bathroom, A+
Easy check in and accommodating stafff
clean I can hear what's going on in other rooms
Rooms were nice, bathroom clean... Everything was good... i wish they had complimentary breakfast..
My wife and I spent 5 days there to celebrate our anniversary?our first visit to ?the big apple?. The rooms were a little small, but were very clean and well furnished. The staff was friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed the hot complimentary breakfast, but be warned, they get very busy from about 9:00 to 10:00 AM. Be there before 8:30 and you are fine. The location was excellent for us, within walking distance of Bryant Park, the Rockefeller Center, many Broadway Theaters, ABC and NBC studios?even Central Park if you don?t mind a couple mile walk. We totally enjoyed our stay?will stay there again if we return.
Excellent TImes Square location for weekend stay .
The check in process was pretty average, but with unfriendly front desk attendants. The hallway was dirty on the floor that I was staying on...both trash on floor and carpet was dirty. Great location and good price, but below my expectations and below what I have experienced at other Marriott properties.
I have stayed in quite a few NYC hotels. The room was magnificent! The breakfast and gathering area was beautiful and the staff was so friendly and accomodating!
Clean, spacious and very nice room, close to Times Square. Complimentary breakfast and afternoon light dinner was a plus. Would recommend, and visit again.
This was a great value for Manhattan. It was within walking distance of Times Square, Central Park, and many other popular New York hot spots. The staff was very friendly & helpful. When we arrived, there was only 1 operation elevator & the staff went out of their way to make sure people didn't have to wait too long for the elevator. The complimentary buffet breakfast was excellent - great if you have a family! The rooms were quite large (with a full kitchen) and the beds were extra comfortable. My husband and I would definitely stay here again.
We stayed here, of all times, through New Year's Eve, and it was a very wise choice! \n\nThe room had a full kitchenette with microwave, full size refrigerator, toaster, dishes, etc. It was really convenient to be able to go to the corner store and buy midnight snacks or breakfast for the next day.\n\nThe front desk staff was very matter of fact. They weren't overly friendly (it is NYC, lots of people, not everyone will be gushy!). There wasn't a bellman that we saw -- which we liked because we can wheel our own suitcases, not a big deal. There typically was a security guard near the door and you have to use your room key to get to the upper floors. \n\nI would definitely stay here again and recommend it to friends!
We stayed in a large clean studio room for just two nights. It was a good experience but the room wasn't as large as I thought it would be. For example, when the sofa bed is pulled out there isn't any room to walk between it and the full/queen bed in the room. The pull out couch bed was as uncomfortable as we expected it would be, but after our long NY city days, we didn't care. Breakfast was plentiful in options, but so packed with people one of us had to stand to eat. Get there early I guess! Elevators were just as bad; the general advice was to go up to get down. Clean room. Prompt service. We'd stay again.
While the decor, aesthetics, and general reception are great, the customer service and professionalism from the front desk is completely sub-par and below standard for any hotel within this price per night range. I was completely taken by surprise and frankly, shocked when I realized minor construction on a door lock was going on in the room next to mine. Apparently, management thought it a good business idea to begin the deconstruction and removal of the lock with the requisite banging, clanging, kicks and other associated noises at 9:30 pm!! When I called the front desk to complain, the female rep advised that she didn't know when it was going to finish but that it would continue--completely uncaring that after taking two separate airplane rides to get to NY, encompassing a total of 15 hours, one flight from a recovering war zone no less, all I want to do is sleep and rest in order to be somewhat recovered from passing two continents and three time zones and to be prepared for a me...
Our stay at Residence Inn was actually better than expected. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Even the maintenance staff always said hello and had a smile. The breakfast was good and they even provided a light supper which our family took advantage of. We would definanty return. P.S. Our City View rooms on the 27 floor had an outstanding view.
We stayed here in August to celebrate our daughters 13th birthday. We are a family of four, my husband, 13 year old daughter, 9 year old son and myself. The hotel staff was so welcoming and helpful in every way. We arrived a few hours ahead of check in time, but they allowed us to check in early. I had requested a couple of treats to be in our room when we checked in. They didnt have them available at check in, but the treats were in our room when we returned from the broadway show, along with a balloon bouquet and a birthday card for our daughter! Anything we needed or asked for during our 4 day stay was taken care of with a smile! The rooms are very spacious and clean. The kitchen is quite attractive and very useful for keeping snacks and drinks. The hot complimentary breakfast was good, we often took our plates of food back to our rooms and reheated our breakfasts as we each got showered and realy for our day. The hotel is in a great location. An easy walk in one direction...
The hotel was very clean and had all the conveniences. Bed and bedding was great. Close to Times Square and our room had a spectacular view of the Empire State Bldg. Caution: If you have a vehicle, parking cost almost 25% of of nightly stay.
Room location was poor and extremely noisy. Staff was unwilling to accommodate change.
All holiday inn are the same and keep to the standard. Great place to stay and great value Nothing to do with the hotel, but that week was a bomb on 23rd Street. Kind of scary but the NYPD done everything to secure the area. At one time 29th Street was blocked but they made sure that I made my flight home.
Very nice continental breakfast Hotel staff checked bags for late pickup All staff members were extemly cordial Everything met expectations
Everything was clean, orderly. had a tv remote that went out... maintenance was dispatched in minutes, and immediately fixed the problem. also, enjoyed the fact that there was no night-time construction going on!
One of the staff tried to enter my room in the middle of the night. Said they mistook my room for housekeeping?! By myself so it was very scary
We liked the convenience of the area. Easy to check in and out Complimentary breakfast was really good.. a lot of options. Staff was friendly Place was comfortable. All in all it was a good stay! I'd recommend. For the price we paid.. the room was very small... however, I expected this being as we were in a city. Sometimes it's just hard to grasp that.
The room was comfortable and the location was great.
Breakfast inclusive Rooms were pretty clean and better looking than other nyc hotels. Lack of breakfast variety. - always sausage and eggs At night, regulat coffee is very bland and they put less coffee. Very low quality of coffee at night
Rooms were big for the price point and location, very comfortable and accommodating! Will definitely stay there again when going down for any event at the Garden - not even a 2 minute walk! :)
Location, decent sized room, clean There were pipes banging in the walls (or else construction elsewhere in the hotel) all night which kept us awake until 2:30am when we gave up and called and asked to switch rooms. To their credit, they moved us immediately and the new room was quieter.
Outdoor seating for breakfast and relaxation. Great baggage storage after you check out while you see the City and no charge!
Staff friendliness, double beds, breakfast, price Room while clean could be fresher smelling but I am being really picky here
Nice hotel Check in process was BAD Booked via Kayak and they did not have my reservation I had a confirmation # Took almost an hour to resolve
Close enough to walk many places. Staff was extremely friendly. Horrible view from window.
The room was spacious for NYC standards and very clean and well kept. The furnishings were modern and kept up to date. The staff was friendly and accommodating. We enjoyed our stay. It would have been nice to have a refrigerator in the room to keep our water, wine and cheese cold.
I gues for us-measures this Hotel has to be considered old The Service is excellent and it is Central
We appreciated the entire stay. It was quiet, friendly staff, clean, accomodating, close to subway. Good food . We had to leave. We have recommended it to others and will be back.
Items of our luggage were stolen
Nice interior All staff Ive come across felt like security. They dont respond to greetings. When they selectively ask to see your room keycard to enter the hotel and you see the people in front of you stroll right in while you get "carded" almost everytime...Im a well groomed mid 20's asian business man on vacation what more do you want? And in the heart of korea-town no less! I avoided the staff for the rest of my stay due to their less than friendly disposition and most times they seemed too busy to talk to you because they are allll on their phones textingg! Mainly speaking of night staff. For such a historic Landmark of a Hotel the staff certainly takes away from its authenticity, beauty and glamour. As far as the rooms go everthing seemed fairly clean and nice. Only issue was the brown water I had to shower in and the air condition wasnt working the first day but their engineering staff promptly fixed the A/C unit.
Nothing I liked. Worst costumer service!! Front desk guests service were so rude. My room was already paid and booked for but still had to wait two hours just to get my room!
Location, rooms are comfy , free internet My mother's shoes were stolen, Along with my nephew's (2 and 1/2 yo) pillow and toys. The shoes were inside a suitcase the entire time which makes the case even worse. We complained at the front desk, but the staff were unapologetic and did nothing to solve the issue.
Friendly and accommodating staff! Loved that everyone was there willing to help. Also liked the security of staff checking to make sure that all guests coming into the hotel were in fact supposed to be there. Didn't like that there wasn't a fridge and/or microwave in the room given the price. Room was very nice but for the price I would've expected at least a fridge.
Clean rooms, Small rooms
very central location
The room was clean Extremely noisy (couldn't sleep at night) although I had asked for a quiet room, very basic breakfast
- Friendly and helpful staff - Small but clean room, comfortable bed - Well-appointed and nice ambiance - Within easy walking distance of Penn Station, Madison Square Garden, Times Square, Empire State Building, Grand Central Station, and other midtown sights, as well as shopping and good restaurants Disappointed that the rooftop garden was closed for renovation
The central location -could walk to the Village or the Park Complimentary breakfasts The price - but I guess that's NYC for you
The terrace was hands down the best part of all the hotels we stayed at in NYC.
Nice location. Room was small, but clean and updated. Hotel itself is a bit dated and doudy.
price, decor, breakfast, walk-in shower neighborhood, esp. garbage in streets, bed too hard, Minibar only coca-cola and alcohol - storing water, fruit, or juice prohibited enforced by electronic monitoring, cheap plastic cups - no glasses, "superior queen" sleeping room 10'x12', bath 4'x5' roof deck closed
A small friendly hotel offering all you need. Immaculate rooms with great breakfasts and clean bed linen and towels every day. Excellent location for all the major sights - perfect for a long weeked sightseeing. Would definitely stay again and have already recommended it to friends and colleagues.
The front-desk was very helpful The room was very small, and the bathroom was extremely cramped
it was a nice and clean room. breakfast was good though it was just muffins, bagels and toast, no eggs or ham. convenient location next to the subway
I stayed in one of their newly renovated premium rooms and they are gorgeous!! Comparable to the Thompson hotels. Definitely a great value with an amazing location. Would definitely come back and recommend the renovated rooms.
Proximity to 7w building and Korean restaurants When booking thru online agencies you always get the room next to the elevator. It was quiet enuf but that was after we propped the banging fire door open.
Hotel Stanford is so convenient for anything you want to do in NYC. The hotel is spotless and the staff could not do enough for you! Would definintely recommend it to friends and cant wait to stay there again!!! The cafe that serves the complimentary breakfast buffet is a bit small and you have your coffee/tea in paper cups. Also, the buffet is included with the room but when you try to take it up to your room you have to pay $10!!!
Clean Bed, Spacious Room, Hot Water, It is a litle bit Noisy during knights.
The location of this hotel is the best part
location overpriced. Breakfast was very bad, room was small and not really comfortable. Airconditioner did not work properly - we had to call service to fix it.
A calm hotel quiet for good sleeping, a nice staff that immediately fixed problems with my bath sewage outflow, new towels every day, central location and near to everything on Manhattan and near to the underground station, good breakfast in european style. Some days it was a queue for breakfast. During the day time the room temperature was too cool in the room. The bathroom tap was leaking water in room number 415.
hotel room was clean and staff was very friendly and kind. breakfast was enough and clean. location is really fine. everything was ok, thank you for all. brakfast room was a bit small.
Accom spacious , staff very helpful , pleasant , and carried out their individual tasks smiling . Having to queue for breakfast .
Good location, and spacious room. Booking.com did not include the city taxes in their estimate. Therefore, the bill was larger than expected and larger than the amount disclosed by Booking.com.
only the fact that it is in a central location very basic, website does not give a true picture of the hotel it flatters the reality. would not stay there again
Staff were very friendly and professional. The location of the hotel was ideal.
Love Kimpton, the hotels and service are always top notch. Looking forward to staying here again. Having to leave the hotel was a bummer
Friendly staff and comfort of the bed! Tax additions to bill
after renovation, but with some scratches already; friendly staff really cares; fitness room; complimentary tea and coffee every morning; safe and nice; great view from deluxe room expensive, but very standard, breakfast; windows need to be cleaned; at this price I would expect the room to be larger; I would prefer more light in the room
Very kind and attentive staff. Nice and clean room. Excellent location for us. Quite expensive. None.
.Great Location!...most of the places we wanted to visit were near.
Great location close to Times Square. Tiny rooms, run-down bathrooms, cheap towels.
The location is the only redeeming feature of this hotel... Not even the wifi is complimentary in this grotty, depressing place. The hotel is loud all day and night, the decor is old and it smelled of vinegar which they presumably pour down the in room sinks to get rid of the slightly worse smell of what goes in there when people don't leave their rooms over night. The mobile advert failed to mention the shared bathrooms, then the guy on reception just dismissed complaints with a smirk as though he'd heard them a hundred times before. The rooms were tiny and uninviting. Even the lifts/elevators were terrible - spectacularly slow and always stopped on the second floor (reception) for no reason.
Location is great but the shared bathrooms were ofter dirty. The check in is only after 3pm and the staff is not flexible at all!
Excellent location, 5 minutes for Macy's/Times Square and the subway. Becuase the shared bathrooms were inside the building, they were incredibly hot and didn't have the best ventilation.
The location, very close to nice bryant park. OK price. Nice to store my things in the luggage-room after check-out. Uncomfortable beds, tiny rooms, no view from the room (except into a brick wall), loud air condition, bad selection of tv-channels (if that matters, altough it could do when chilling in the room after a long day in the city), bathroom in the hallway (alltough it was clean and never occupied when I had to use it).
Hotel is in the center of downtown Shared bathroom is disadvantage of hotel
The best thing I like was the location. I came up for a meeting at AFSCME DC 37 the union, and found that I was not far from where I needed to go, plus shopping was good. I did not like that the Saturday morning the toilet had overflowed, i reported it to the manager and it took them all day to fix the bathroom which I found disgusting.
Location is very good, just in two step from Empire State Building and Times Square. The room was clean and it was pretty silent on night. Shared bathroom, don't forget sneakers
Location was good. Overall the hotel was ok, nothing amazing for the price. Front desk staff was very helpful. Lack of wireless or wired internet. Every hotel should have this service now.
The location The room was bad and it didn't have bathroom, which was unexpected.
Friendly staff, very clean and spacious room, good breakfast
The staff was excellent and really helpful in helping us find locations and how to get there. This hotel has the loudest air conditioner I have ever heard in my life! It worked great, but was so loud that we had to turn it off to get some sleep.
attentive staff ; good location; clean room ; nice breakfast; good value for price water from shower splashes out onto bathroom floor too easily
Smack dab in the middle of midtown. Absolutely NO cell phone service. They give you the wifi (I don't know if you normally pay) but that to me should be warned about. I didn't realize I wasn't getting work emails until about an hour after I checked in and noticed my phone was abnormally quiet. Facilities are okay. Couldn't get the air to stop blowing warm even when on cool. Bathroom was a tad sketchy.
Very helpful staff. All requests were handled quickly.
Breakfast was great!! But staff was great and overall stay was good! Wifi and phone reception was horrible. AC was loud and had restroom problems with toilet.
Price was right for these accommodations. Location is unbeatable. So close to transportation and all of midtown's amenities... Lounge area on separate floor..comfortable and screen providing what to do updates was a nice bonus. Also, appreciated that staff allowed us to store luggage after checkout. Room was on the warm side. Couldn't regulate thermostat. Internet and cell coverage both spotty. Couldn't figure out log in for wifi.
The location was great, in walking distance to the subway. I did not enjoy waking up in the middle of the night, and finding someone else's underwear in the covers with me. Were the sheets not changed between guests? I was highly disappointed in the esponse from the front desk and management. The front desk's response was, "Ugghh, gross.." The local management never responded. They were supposed to contact me (according to the front desk and corporate office). It never happened. The corporate office was responsive and addressed my concerned. I've stayed at Wingate and other Wyndham properties and enjoyed my stay; I will never return to this one.
Location and staff Noise of ac unit in the room
room ready and clean unable to get points with 3rd party reservation
Close to Penn Station Close to excellent shopping Expansive free full breakfast buffet No room views Slow elevators
Waiting for the lift at breakfast time! we walked down 16 floors - it was quicker!
We arrived mid morning and after a 10 minute wait were shown to our room. Service was consistently prompt and staff courteous. I would definitely stay again.
breakfast was nice Yes, there was! I had major issues with the WIFI Internet Access. It didn't work on my IPad and my Windows lap-top at all. The "necessary page" in the Browser didn't turn up. The "free WIFI" was one of the reason why I did choose the Hampton. The staff said they cannot give me any discount, because I booked the hotel via bookings. I shall try to claim it thru you? Anything you can do? Speak to Lisa + John at reception. They confirm that I had complained a few times.
Our check in/out and all interactions with staff were very positive. Breakfast was good, a hot waffle, pastry, egg, or potatoes, plus juice, cereal and hot drinks. The two doubles in one tiny room were adequate. No tub only shower and the TV/cable was the bare minimum. Complimentary internet was adequate. Overall I recommend and would stay again.
The breakfast was great! The price was good. Room was clean. THe walls were very thin and you could hear the partiers that came in at 4am. When the front desk was notified of the disturbance they responded quickly and the room quieted down for about half an hour, but then got really loud. I did not sleep well at all that night!
Staff courtesy room size vs cost
The hotel was clean and tidy. it was centrally located and withing 2 minutes walking distance to Penn Station and madison Square Garden. we arrived at Penn from Newark so ideal for us. the hotel located on W 31st street was ideal as a center to get to all the major sights in NY. Breakfast being included was excellent to set us up for the day. There were a couple of cafe/restaurants nearby. would stay again if we get back to NY.
Horrible place, breakfast awful with little nutritious value. It would have better to eat at McDonald's ! This is overpriced even for Manhattan. If parking is available, it will cost you an average of $50 per night. I don't think the bedding had been changed for me after the prior customers had checked-out.
Good location Breakfasts were not so good
For the value the hotel was great. The location of the hotel is very convenient to many locations and subway lines. The breakfast in the morning exceeded expectations and was substantial. Hotel is very clean and feels updated. The bathroom felt a bit small but for a hotel in NYC that is expected. Do not try to drive and park in this area, parking is atrocious and very expensive.
Staff was excellent
