Great service, BCBG, not expensive and they have a great bar on the 4th. They don't have recycle bins in rooms... Euhhhh... #2015
The front desk hung up on me 3 times and my girlfriend twice, the comforter had black mold. So overall this place is ghetto
I have heard there is some noise Weds to Saturday late nights but I was there on a Monday night. I guess there is a nightclub. That still probably wouldn't bother me. It's a really nice hotel and if you are going for a night out in the city this is a perfect place.
Had a great experience overall. The staff at the front desk, restaurant and main door were all very attentive and courteous. My room was very quiet as requested it. It was located on the 15th floor and it was impeccable. Unfortunately I didn't have the time to check out and enjoy the gym and the lounge on the 4th floor. I was very pleased and would highly recommend anyone to stay at the Godfrey Hotel.
Excellent customer service! Bathroom could use a pocket door.
The staff was pleasant at check in and breakfast. The room was comfortable and well appointed. I appreciated the full size hair dryer which I'm finding to be a luxury lately. The bar was a very young hip LOUD crowd. My group felt very out of place trying to get a drink there with some coworkers and we had to leave early because of it. Coming back to the hotel after dinner there was a wait to get on the elevator between all the loud groups going up to the bar.
Exactly the amenity level that you want to pay for. Great, though not extensive, onsite amenities (gym, spa), and a GREAT restaurant/bar. I was passing through on business for one night and I had a couple of small plates and was really amazed. I'd definitely come back just to eat here, but the room was clean and well appointed too. At 44, I have to try pretty damn hard to be hip enough to chill at the ultra-cool bar at this place. I leave it to others to judge whether I was successful or not.
Great location and staff. Feels like a high class hotel. One of the 2 elevators was out of service. So the one was always busy. Especially with always stopping at the the Club/Lounge on one of the floors.
Is this a swingers hotel? Lots of people walking around in their underwear in the hallway. Desk said this is typical.
The staff was nice, and hotel was pretty much what I expected except as noted: Elevators were a little weird and didn't work as expected Room was deceptively *tiny*
I came to stay at Hotel Felix for NYE in Chicago. The location was excellent and I never had to walk more than 15 minutes to get to anything. Just a few blocks from Michigan Ave and tons of restaurants. But, the rooms were dirty and our floor smelled horrible. I'm certain our sheets were never washed due to all of the mystery hairs I found in the sheets. We also had a mix up when we checked in. Instead of putting us in a queen room, like we reserved 4 months prior, we were placed in room with 2 full beds. When we asked to be moved to our appropriate room so were placed in a tiny room. If you don't mind sacrificing space and cleanliness for location this hotel is fine. But if you are expecting a luxurious night in the city don't waste your time.
It looks very chic walking in. The staff was all young and super friendly. The air smelled like it was diffused with something. There was a small bar and restaurant attached, which was convenient. Room was small but clean and nice. Staff suggested a boat tour and also booked it for us AND printed off directions, which was really helpful. The room was very small.. I kept hitting my shins on the edge of the bed. My friend and I stayed there together so it made for a pretty tight space but we didn't spend a ton of time in there so it was fine. Also, no breakfast, just free coffee. We ordered towels at one point and no one ever showed up.
Almost everything was absolutely wonderful except... Cleaning staff did not fully replace my used towels and cups. Also, the location made it difficult to easily hail a taxi.
The hotel is quirky, clean and comfortable. Compact rooms for people looking for a comfortable place to sleep but don't need all the bells and whistles. Everything was clean. The girl at the front desk checking in was mumbly and hard to hear. Waited 5+ minutes for a valet attendant to show up (we were the only people there at the moment). Then we were taken up to an uncleaned room. Storing our bags in luggage after we checked out was a similar struggle finding an attendant that was supposed to be there. Fortunately there was one of the staff members who continually helped resolve the issues all weekend long. He was very professional and willing to do any job with patience and a smile. Please hire more staff like him!
Small Room not clean
Great location, friendly staff, reasonable price Room smelled like smoke
Great value...clean....excellent location for shopping Michigan avenue...staff helpful...no complaints!
I would have given this stay 4/5 stars had not my Fitbit been stolen. It was not misplaced nor left somewhere, it was stolen which isn't obviously unacceptable. Everything was top notch including the view, but if I don't feel safe leaving my things behind, what's the point?
The hotel is very modern and attractive. And it is in a good location. The bell staff is very friendly Extremely small rooms. Small bathroom with shower only whichhas a curtain not glass Detracts from look. There are no bedside lamps ! Too bad for readers.bartender is sweet, not really does not know how to make a drink-not all that familiar with different types of drinks, bar not set up didn't have cherries, fruit.
Very small rooms.
I did not like anything about this hotel. It's in downtown Chicago and it has carpet like a motel. Does not make you feel comfortable at all. The tv sucks the picture even worse. The worst hotel I've been too! Too expensive for a motel like setting. First and last time ever at this hotel. -10
Price, pool, walking distance No refrigerator in room
Good price, great location. Rooms on Ohio Street are noisy during AM rush hour as cars & trucks drive by. Bed firm, just OK.
Good location, very clean and the staff is friendly. Price is great for Chicago. Close to trains for easy access to downtown. Some good restaurants nearby. Traffic noise, but that's expected in the city as is some noise from the hallway when people are out there. Biggest problems for us were the extremely firm bed, lack of fan in bathroom (very damp after showering) and the lack of light blocking curtains. We were on the Ohio side and the sheers did nothing to stop the city light. It was so bright both at night and in the morning that it was difficult to sleep as long as we would have liked.
Free parking, great location, Chicago parking
Location. Strong, free wifi. Reasonable parking (for Chicago) Small (full) beds, small room, no breakfast, poor value ($300/night all in)
Great location, many places within walking distance. It was very easy to get to off the highway, plus cheap parking! ($25/night). Room was small, but had everything we needed for 1 night - bed, bathroom, shower, wifi.
The hotel is centrally located and about a mile walk or short cab ride to all tourist sites. It has an easy access to many restaurants. The lobby and indoor pool facility on the roof was clean and well maintained. The noise level was fine for the city. The rooms were small, but adequate if you are a petite sized family. The price (including the $25 daily parking fee, plus additional $10 for taking your vehicle out of the garage) was fair relative to other surrounding hotels. Although unable to resolve several issues, the staff was friendly. The overall building appeared secure. The hotel has only 1 primary working elevator. There is an elevator that has been out of service for sometime and will probably not be fixed in the near future. Several guests have reported this problem since the beginning of summer. Although the room was overall clean, the carpet was very dingy and there was about a 2 to 3 feet in diameter DISGUSTING stain on 1 corner. I told the front desk and all I got was the complimentary apology. Again this was reported by one other guest on Trip Advisor. Perhaps it was in the same room, Room 505. The bathroom looked clean, but my husband and son reported that there were some disgusting stains underneath the toilet lid, which I refused to look at to verify. It looked like it had not been cleaned in a long time. The shower and toilet area is very tight so it can feel like a closet. The pillows were very small, like a toss pillow, and flat so bring your own and the sheets were slightly stiff and rough. There is no fridge and the ice machine can only be accessed on the 4th floor.
FREE PARKING! Room was clean, price was fantastic, close to everything. Overall appearance could use some updating
Pleasant stay Confusing at first where pool was located
Free parking. Booked a queen bed non smoking balcony with a city view. Got a ground floor smoking. Smells like a ash tray. After a bottle of fabreez fabric refresher I was able to lay on the bed.
It was reasonably priced and in a good location. We booked two beds because we had 3 adults staying in the room. Once we got there they only had one queen bed available, which is WAY to small for 3 adults to sleep comfortably, they didn't have roll away beds, so one of use had to sleep on the FLOOR in a hotel that we paid for! We paid money to SLEEP ON THE FLOOR! The front desk person couldn't have cared less about this inconvenience, disinterested and unapologetic.
This hotel is in the thick of downtown. Free parking but you need to get there early in the afternoon. Rooms were good although you can't control the temperature of the room. I would stay there again.
You can't find a better bargain than the Ohio House Motel. The accommodations aren't anything special, but the price is unbeatable. Clean, comfortable, convenient- all for just over $100.
The hotel accommodations are decent (tv but cable wasn't working, wifi, small fridge/freezer combo, small bathroom with shower tub) but centrally located with about 30 free (first come, first served) parking spaces. Great if you want to do a lot of exploring and not looking to spend much time in your room. It's a bit run-down, but that's probably why we could afford a hotel in this area.
It was in a good spot in town. Easy to find. Staff friendly and helpful. The ability to leave my bags while I shopped around on the last day after check out was nice. I could of used a mini fridge for my leftovers but sometimes that can't be helped.
This place is pretty much what we expected and paid for...a clean, reasonably comfortable, economical place to stay within easy walking distance of many of the things we wished to see. And parking is free. (though not guaranteed) This is not the Hilton or even The Holiday Inn. If you want those, pay for them, they can be very nice. The people working at the hotel were polite and helpful. It might be interesting if the furnishings has more of an MCM feel to match the sign and exterior archetecture but that would probably raise the prices...so nevermind.
A budget friendly down town location Was a little smoky smelling the first day
Free parking is good Kinda shanby
Excellent location. Room was clean, comfy.
location, price eclectic environment smell in room got a no smoking smelled in room still, also the ac didnt work in our room at all, some one parked us in in the parking lot
Deep soaking tub, community balcony, nice tv, free wifi, LOCATION Bed needed one more blanket
Parking is free. Staff is friendly. They let me keep my car in the lot a few hours after check out while I was at a conference. Wifi is free. Location is great. This is one of the most dilapidated hotels I've been to. The tub dripped and was rusty, there wasn't much of a shower head, there was hair on the towels, the coffee maker was dirty, there was a hole in the bedspread, the sheets were worn through, paint was chipping everywhere, and the bathroom door didn't close.
clean good service internet free parking no mini fridge no microwave
