hotel should provide breakfast.
Beds were comfortable Staff prompt and friendly It was dirty---floors dirty, wrappers on the floor, cereal on the floor, carpet torn in areas, pack n play had crusted food on it.
The location is the one you want. It's close to whatever you wanna visit at Chicago. Staff is really courteous, the room size is OK, the roof terrace is really nice. Again, this is mostly about the location which is the best in town. Nothing I actually disliked, but the hotel is in serious need of money to go through a much needed renovation. Once they do this, the price won't be the same tho.
It was a fantastic hotel! While the room wasn't large, it was up to date and clean. Services were fantastic and the staff was friendly, helpful, and informative. I would definitely recommend this hotel and will absolutely stay here again.
The location is perfect. Near all the tourist attractions. It doesn't have breakfast.
Location The hallways had hole in walls, tears and tons of stains in carpeting. Needs major upkeep. Only thing good is the location. Paid 15$ for fasted speed internet which was supposed to be 8mbps it closed in less Then 3mbps
The bed was very old and not comfortable, not hotel standard my own bed at home much better. The rooms need to be remodeled. Matres
Great location! Lobby looked cute but once you stepped onto the other floors it was below average (dirty carpets, mediocre rooms, small bathrooms). Not what was expected from view on website, lobby, and location.
decent room power outlet in bedside light (super!) Nice cleaning staff Easy access to downtown Super expensive internet Room is sort of depressing in design, decor. Somewhere someone would meet a dark fate in a Twilight zone episode.
Pleasant staff. Great location. Stained and fraying carpet in hallways. Tiny bathrooms. No amenities such as in room fridge or continental breakfast. Loud air conditioner unit.
Location, Location Location and the price was better then other hotels in the area. Room was outdated, bathroom was smaller than an airplane restroom.
The location was great, comfortable. Not a lot of facilities but in city and I didn't need them. Great value. Comfortable bed. Carpet completely worn in hallway. Paint peeling in bathroom. Bath floor a little sticky.
It was very loud; lots of LED lights that you had to creatively cover; and staff gives conflicting information about the no housekeeping $10 credit.
Nothing. Room was really small. Room was run down. Dirty. Overpriced. Staff was not helpful when they gave us the wrong room (one even yelled at us).
Nothing except its location 1- Staff aren't friendly. 2- The furniture and the bed sheets are so dirty.
Raoul and the other breakfast servers were excellent The carpet in my room1504 seemed old and dirty
The hotel is conveniently located in the city The cost of the room was very high. I was willing to pay the price but, my expectations were set high for such a small non-view room.
Location on Michigan Ave is perfect, price is good Really late check in (5pm), slow elevators, noisy hallways, outdated rooms, no free wifi
Convenient location We were downgraded rooms and charged the same amount.
Bed was comfortable, room was very clean and nicely furnished. Missing some basic things like luggage rack. Hotel lobby desperately needs basic amenities like a chilled water dispenser (coffee is nice but it's hot outside!!!)
The location, cleanliness, reception service, coffee service, breakfast service, bar service with food, valet service, room service, housekeeping service and reservation service! The room size & configuration, room price did not include internet access and breakfast service! Hence, the value for money was missing in my opinion!
This hotel is very centrally located to many Chicago sites and attractions. A cool building, staff and accommodations are all excellent. I recommend this hotel. We will be back. The age of the building means that while rich in character, the quirks of the room layout and small size could bother some people.
Lovely hotel for great price on Michigan Ave. It's close to everything cool in Chicago. Staff was friendly, and was helpful. When I forgot my toothbrush they were able to find one for us. The rooms were clean and well put together.
Location and staff ... Staff was really nice No in room coffee maker, small room, virtually no room to put your bathroom toiletries and just two tiny drawers for clothes. No vending machine anywhere. View of brick wall. A lot to give up for location. Would stay off Mag mile next time. Parking was crazy expensive. For the money we paid I expected more
Every thing is good
We had a great time.It was really comfortable and had the best ubication! We will recomend it! Front desk personel at night must improve!!
The location is fantastic. It is great for sightseeing and shopping. The room was comfortable and modern. The beds were comfortable. The staff on check-in were not very friendly. The room was not equipped with a coffeemaker and should have been. The elevators are small and no one offered to help us with taking our luggage to our room. We had asked for a baby crib to be placed in the room on our reservation special requests and when we checked in, we were told there was no crib in the hotel. However, the staff ensured that a crib was delivered to the room immediately.
The very comfortable bed. There was no counter top or shelf in the bathroom for storing personal items such as toothbrushes and travel bag of toiletries.
The front desk was so nice and helpful! I would definitely recommmend this hotel to friends and stay here again!
Convenience of location, quietness of location, beds, comforters and pillows quite comfortable, staff quick to respond Bathroom: design flaw allows shower water to immediately drain onto floor, which has no drain; sink counter won't hold soap; inadequate # towel racks.
The location for us worked but the bathrooms need more space for storing cosmetics, toothbrushes, The showers sprayed water all over the floor and is a bad design. Otherwise, we enjoyed our stay and would return if the price stays lower as others in the area. same above
the size, cleanliness of rooms was a great value for price. did not like the fact that housekeeping knocks on your door at 8am if you did not put do not disturb sign up.
should have free wi-fi
Checkin and checkout were extremely easy. The restaurant served a wonderful breakfast, and the waitstaff were friendly and helpful.
This was a beautiful hotel. Location was great...very safe neighborhood! The bed was so comfortable that I didn't want to get out of it. I would stay here again for sure.
Excellent location - a great place to stay for exploring the city of Chicago! Quick taxi ride in from O'Hare airport (approx $40), close to tour bus stops & many sights.
location - rooms - Having to pay for wifi
Conveniently located. Charm and romantic setting!
Everything in the hotel was perfect! The location was excellent, the staff was very very friendly ( especially Birsen in the reception and Tom in the luggage), the cleaning ladies were doing a wonderful job. We enjoyed every singel minute in the hotel. The room was large and comfortable; very relaxing bed and no noise from outside or other rooms.
The room was great, very clean and comfartable. The bathroom was especially great. Very nice However it was crazy to charge people $10 per night for slow internet access. I once stayed at a cheap motel that had internet access for all its guests. It is for that reason alone I would not return. Its almost insulting not to have free wifi in a four star hotel
We loved the newly remodeled room. It felt very clean. The bedding was soft and inviting. We did not like the overhead shower, however, it was not necessary that we use it because there was a hand-held shower head as well. But honestly, just a nice wall mounted shower head is best.
The staff was very welcoming and helpful. From Sean at the front desk, to Tom the bellman, Andre and Stephen in the restaurant and Tom at the front door. The beds were beyond comfortable. I wanted to take my bed home with me. Good Location - 1 block off of Michigan Avenue and 1 block from the Lakeshore. My only complaint is the lighting in the bathroom. Putting make up on was difficult due to the lighting in the bathroom and the depth of the vanity. A lighted makeup mirror attached to the wall just in side the door would help with that.
Rate and location. Nice bathroom fixtures and room furnishings Common areas are worn and tattered.. Looks tired and dirty Although I requested a non smoking room, my room smelled ,like smoke and needed to be deodorized
not much Room was 'nasty' for a 4 star hotel. -broken soap dish on the floor -faucet handle was not fastened and fell. -really dirty carpet -old building. poorly renovated. bad paint job in the hallways.
Great location and afternoon tea was amazing.
We loved the location and the welcoming and helpful staff. The atmosphere is elegant. For a small extra cost, we opted for the Executive Room with access throughout the day for a light breakfast, snacks during the day, and hors doerves during cocktail hour. It's view is spectacular and all but the tables which are too small, we enjoyed immensely and visited often during our stay. WiFi in your room is an extra cost and not included in the price of your room.
Location and old world elegance Several elevators broken, tea room not kept up-my chair had a big hole in it. Chairs looked dilapidated, carpet worn, menu insert pages barely legible (bad photo copies). Most pages had faded writing in 3 of the four menus. Also-3 menus did not include alcoholic beverages
Whinin walking distance to downtown shopping and attractions and great restaurants, walked to Chicsgo Art Institute to take in Van Gough exhibit. Parking too expensive
Staff were tremendous Hotel needs updating. It is old, worn and dirty
location 65.00 a day to park car didn't know where to go for breakfast?? not alot of water pressure for shower
Room was clean. No recreational stuff no pool no sauna nothing it was boring.
The Drake is a Chicago classic. A bit old, but very luxuries and very, very beautiful. The excellent location and nice staff delivering outstanding service make the Drake the place to be. A bit dated, and almost impossible to roll your own luggage. Unlike most hotels with marble floors, The Drake has the thickest carpet imaginable. Also, the rooms are small for the US (and the money) and you will pay a lot for a view. However, this is the oldest and most desirable location that The Drake sets the standards for all of the other Chicago luxury hotels.
Friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful clean rooms. A sense of safety and security.
The most thing I like here is the location, which is very convenience. Also, their front desk service is good~ I'm not satisfied with its room service, I ordered hot milk and they sent me the cold milk. Besides, the price of their room service is not worth from my view. So, just don't make room service, or you will be disappointed with its bad taste and unbelievable bill.
Location Loud, 1st night people shouting 2:30 am in the corridor, 2nd night wake up service in person knocking the doors, once no refill of coffee pads, never replacement of bottles in the bathroom (shampoo etc), before check out I wanted to get ready for my long trip back, but the room service had started cleaning and I found everything misplaced, the bathroom under water, cups on the carpet, no apoligies
The staff was terrific and our room, the only renovated one so far, was ideal. NA
Close to great retail stores No dislikes
The room was clean and extremely comfortable with a modern decor that I like. The location is fantastic. None
Location was excellent. Rooms were modern and comfortable. Noise from the ambulances and construction. Crappy attitude from bar staff on balcony.
Location, location, location! A great hotel for a short break in Chicago -it's very close to Michigan Avenue (1 block) as well as restaurants, bars and nightlife. A really great all round hotel. I would definitely stay here again and would certainly recommend it! Nothing too bad. Just to be aware that it's under renovation, so the facade isn't as attractive as you would expect. But don't be put off, the rooms are beautiful and luxurious with all mod cons.
The staff was excellent and very helpful.
I really enjoyed how close it was to everything. The employees were very helpful. I wish the price of the room included breakfast. There wasn't even complimentary coffee offered in the lobby. I had to pay $2.50. There was a coffee maker in the room but it just isn't the same. Get rid of the coffee makers and have pots of fresh coffee available in the lobby.
Very good location.
Very good welcome and staff performance An elevator alarm went off in the middle of the night and it took over one hour to fix it - not conducive to comfortable sleep.
They had absolutely no trace of our reservation on arrival, but after some spirited discussion more than made good the upheaval.
The bed is gorgeusly confortable Many problems with shower, room cleaning, front desk attendece, etc.
when I make check out from the hotel they told me i have to pay more than what booking website show me,after desscution they agree to refund 110 $ to me.
Hotel has great location, very nice accomodations. There was broken glass in the bar and I cut my finger pretty badly on our first night at the hotel. Although hotel staff was very nice and they did call security, I thought they could have done more in way of compensation. In hindsight, I probably needed stitches and other than call to my room by the manager (who had already left by the time we got back to the room), they really didn't even follow-up.
Great restaurant recommendation and service!
Comfortable, elegant, convenient excellent accomodations. Food very good but somewhat overpriced. The hotel tower is very tall and our initial room on the 40th floor was very noisy in the wind and rain storm. The swaying was not noticable but the sound of creaking wall and ductwork was uncomfatably loud. The staff did move us to a lower floor to a large apartment suit which was very quiet.
Location/spa and swimming pool None
Location! And they left a small treat for my child every afternoon.
When I had a problem with the professionality of one of the staff members, the General Manager took action fast and worked a satisfying solution to the problem. The only thing I didn't care for about this Hotel is that it did not offer a shuttle to the airport or my convention.
Beautiful views from the pool & workout areas. Room was very comfortable. Nice location. No jacuzzi. The sauna was nailed shut.
Charles Nancy was very rude and put out by helping me. Also, our keys did not work twice and the cost of the room service is quite ridiculous....$7.00 for dry cereal, plus 18% gratuity pluse $2.50 delivery?! Maybe if the staff was friendly and the service was better, but no way would I ever pay that for a bowl of corn flakes.
Clean and comfortable, loved the location, safety, suite was roomy for our two or could accomodate three easily.
Basic Internet was kind of hit or miss on access and performance
Liked everything about it! Amazing location, nice facilities, and friendly staff.
Spacious, very well equiped suites with fridges, microwaves and two TV's - very handy when the World Cup clashes with Wimbledon. All furnishings and fabrics in rooms are of the highest quality. Almost all the staff were very friendly, extremely polite and most helpful. Great location for the Chicago tourist. Swimming Pool needs a refurb, now looking dated and tired. Air-con in gym and workout rooms not working therefore uncomfortably hot. Internet connections in Rooms too slow and no weekly rate for using the facility.
The facilities are good. The location is excellent. The parking is outrageous. $66/day but I think that's Chicago. One of the hotel staff was a bit rude, but the others more than made up for his behavior.
Toilet flush was EXTREMELY loud. And we could hear the toilets from other rooms as well.
clean, comfortable,good service.
Very nice Hotel with a great staff. Valet service was good, bell service was good, front desk service was great. Restuarant was average, parking was expensive.
We arrived and there was no parking available and the hot water didn't seem to get any warmer than room temperature.
Shopping and sightseeing were close by. I spilled coffee on my robe on the first morning and it wasn't replaced in the 6 days I stayed there. I don't think he says we're changed during those 6 days either. Otherwise the staff was really nice and the room very comfortable.
Very few amenites for what you pay. Service was slow at best. Concierce desk was helpful. Very good at housekeeping, but not worth the money you pay.
This hotel is not what i expected...horrible valet service had to wait forever...i told them not to charge my card for the 67 dollars of parking everyday i was paying them cash and when i checked out they charged me again for the parking because they didnt have records that i was paying cash! Will never go back... Staff is super rude!
Cookies in the lobby and friendly staff. Not very many amenities. Bathroom door didn't close all the way. Room didn't cool down enough.
We loved how friendly the staff was. William went above and beyond for us! For the price, it would have been nice to have even a basic breakfast included.
The hotel has decent accommodations and lives up to the name. The rooms are nice, the beds are comfortable, & the bathrooms are clean. (don't park there!!!!) PARKING PRICES, WTF!? Buying anything (aside from the room itself) from the Westin is out of the question/budget.
Loved the Heavenly Bed and Heavenly Shower!
Front desk staff Location Kind to offer large check out Weak wifi Outrageous daily parking fee
Great dining options available and close by to lots of shopping outlets. It would be wonderful if I could have a city view instead of facing another building since Chicago is such a nice city. Not close to any subways.
It may seem a bit expensive but the service is effective and prompt. They have in and out privileges and are quick to help There is no free WiFi but I have my own mobile plan.
Great valet service. Small rooms
Hospitality, service, beds, bar
The only thing going for the hotel is location and price. The rooms were small and dark. The bathroom had the most perplexing layout and the hot water took a full 5 minutes to get hot for a shower. It wasn't as clean as I like a hotel to be (hair from previous guests on the shower wall. Gross).
Friendly and courteous staff The vent was blowing air at my face every time the hvac kicked in while I was trying to sleep.
Hotel was clean, friendly staff For an advertised 2nd best bed in hotels...the bed was TERRIBLE.
Location was amazing!! Super close to shopping and pretty much everything! Cute antique ish feel to it. Nice and clean, staff super nice and helpful!
The location was right on the money, with some of the sights of downtown just a few minutes away. The price was also very good. Our room did not have a fridge for us to put leftovers into or a microwave to heat them in. Also, the window coverings needed a good update and looked old and grungy.
Location One elevator. ... Waited forever and it was full when it came!
Good price for the weekend, nice view of the Hancock, neat they have options for food and drinks downstairs. We got to the Whitehall around 6:30PM on Friday night, to find one of the automatic doors to enter was not working correctly. Next up: one of the elevators (of only 2 tiny elevators) was broken down. Everything had a luster of the past, but needed updating, cleaning, replacing, etc. In our room, the carpet was stained and one of our sheets had a hole in it. To add insult to injury, of the 2 phones in the bedroom, one didn't work at all, and the other only worked if you pressed 0. (ie, none of the corresponding keys to concierge etc worked). The shower faucet where you adjust the temperature was also broken - as it was loose and hard to finagle into getting a temperature that didn't scald or freeze you. And maybe the worst of all? We had gone out for brunch on Saturday, and come back, said we didn't want to be disturbed, but then, while we were napping, someone CAME INTO OUR ROOM without knocking to check our minibar!!! What?! Who does this!?!? This hotel is 2 star-worthy, not 4. They need to SERIOUSLY up their game or deal with reality. Also - we were charged for 2 items (a granola bar and candy bar) that we didn't even take. The lady said "sometimes touching something in the minibar triggers these prices). I said "that would make sense if either thing were even *in* the minibar!" So, there you go. That's the truth of the place. Judge for yourself.
-Perfect Location: We walked EVERYWHERE and the Whitehall was always a great starting point and place to come back to for a moment of rest. -Friendly Staff -Good value: We spent very little time in the room, so it served it's purpose. -Steps away from the John Hancock Building and Michigan Ave. -Carpet was a little grungy. -Bed wasn't super comfy, but I still slept well. Overall, a good value for the money. Would stay here again because it was such a great location and the staff was very friendly.
Comfortable beds A little pricey and some attn to detail needed for rooms falling apart. (Cracks in ceilings etc)
Perfectly situated for seeing the sights, enjoying the music scene, shopping, and exploring the beaches. The gym only had one treadmill. The 2nd was broken. But we had so much fun doing other things that we never hit the gym.
Super comfy bed, awesome location. Hotel is steps from the magnificent mile and a short walk to the lake. Small lobby and elevators, room was in need of some small wear and tear repairs.
Likes the character and location. Beds were comfortable and space was good. Tv was huge and state of the art. Bathroom was small and outdated.
Parking is $55 per day
The wait time for an elevator was excessive at 9:30AM Sunday morning. I was on the 6th floor waiting to go down to the Lobby. 6 cars stopped, all full, over the span of 10 minutes. I finally got on a car that had an open spot, but was going up, and then rode it down - meanwhile the car stopped on 7 other floors. It seems to me a more "fair" algorithim could be employed to have an elevator car stop for someone on the 6th floor. If it weren't for the amount of luggage I had to carry, I would of course taken the stairs.
The pool Big yellow stain on carpet Bathroom light wouldn't stay on and flickered the whole time Wasn't able to get ready in bathroom and made showering very interesting to say the least We would have changed rooms but we were running late to my birthday plans Complained in the am and they said they could do nothing bc I didn't book they them directly. I was very upset how the manager handled the situation We spent $240 on a one night stay for my birthday and cookies were offered but with attitude
Went up to Chicago to catch a craft beer festival. The hotel was very accommodating, helping us take our many, many, manyou cases of beer and two tiny bags of luggage to our room. With the convenience of in and out parking and even providing plates when our pizza was delivered made our short stay amazing. Would definitely stay here again City garage parking is sooooooooo expensive!
location, price are great room was very comfortable, but not as clean as we would expect, in fact cleanliness was our only "ding".
Seems there were some residents on my floor - sounded like families that did not have a home. They were noisy, loud, baby crying and unattended, See above.
Stayed one night and paid $76.00 dollars to park
We loved our stay at the doubletree, complimentary cookies and the front desk, the bed was lovely and the location is great, only few blocks from the magnificent mile. My husband woke up at night due to the outside street noise (cars&sirens) I personally did not hear it. I guess it depends how light of a sleeper someone is.
We couldn't get HHonors points at all because we booked through Kayak.
Clean, helpful staff, good location and overall value. I wouldn't say it's old, but some of the decor and appointments are outdated.
Very convenient location, walking distance from the Magnificient Mile, the Wrigley Building, and Millenium Park. Many restaurants nearby, and bagel/coffee shop near the hotel lobby. Nice outdoor pool. No free internet in the room. Noise from repairs (drilling) in neighboring room(s) every morning (weekdays).
This hotel has an amazing location being just a couple of blocks away from Michigan Ave and being on the lake side near Navy Pier. Having a WholeFoods kitty corner to the hotel was quite handy. The hotel staff was incredibly nice and attentive. They do an excellent job of keeping the place clean. We had such a wonderful time that we decided to stay an extra night. Not having a mini fridge in the room was a little inconvenient.
Me & my friend had the pleasure of staying at your hotel for a long weekend getaway. From check in to check out your staff & facilities were very pleasant & accommodating. I just want to point out that the bar staff, Brian & Izzy went above & beyond to make us feel welcome! Once again, a big thank you to the AC Marriott for doing a great job!
Great neighborhood. Felt safe walking around. Clean, comfortable hotel with friendly, helpful staff. Loads to do within walking distance. The cabbies didn't seem to know where the hotel was. They tried to drop us at the Marriott which was a block away.
very friendly, super clean, nice location $50 a night parking
Great location, comfortable beds, fridge in room. Service was good. Not overly comfortable, very minimalistic, breakfast was mostly cured meats, cheeses, cereals, and fruits (no eggs, oatmeal, etc), room felt a bit cold and sterile for our style.
we were delightfully surprised to find that the hotel had a free "shuttle" when we were headed out for dinner. It really wasn't a shuttle …. more like a very nice, well dressed young man driving a nice sedan to our location. A great touch! The doorman was awesome as well. Very personable, approachable, and helpful.
I really loved/liked and grateful we were able to check in early when we arrived early in the morning after our flight. I think it's well worth it especially because we were staying only one night. For my taste, I liked the contemporary classy decor and atmosphere. The atmosphere in our room felt romantic. The king size bed and the comfort of the bed and linen was awesome for my taste. I especially liked the room my friends were staying in. They had a little movie projector room. We paid the same price but they were staying there a little bit longer than we were. But I did like their room. Staff was very friendly and informative when asked about recommendations of transportation and location of places nearby. Me personally, and just my opinion, we weren't too fond of the shampoo/conditioner and body wash scents.
The art collection was great. The noise traveled into the rooms from the hallways. It was very easy to hear my neighbors going in & out of their rooms in the morning.
The hotel was luxurious, however there was a problem with the room card/key it didn't work on 3 different occasions, I had to get help from the concierge. I missed the deadline for reserving a room at an advantageous rate for the Spak/Schechner wedding and paid a lot of money to Hotwire for my room. No deal with them... I did have a delux room though and would recommend this hotel to those who can afford it. I inquired about the use of a swimming pool at the hotel and the desk folks told me I could use the pool at the Sheraton across the street. Wonderful! I did and felt relaxed and refreshed after my swim. The card/room key didn't work on 3 different occasions.
The location is great. Just a block off of Mag Mile if you are there to shop. Trader Joe's across the street if you want to buy snacks/water for the room. Close/walkable to downtown (Loop) and River North neighborhoods. The staff was great and my wife loved the bathroom products (shampoo/conditioner/body wash) THIS HOTEL IS NOT 5 STAR. Kayak has it listed as 5 star and it is not. Closets are very small...only a couple of feet wide. Not a lot of drawer space. If traveling on business, not easy to work in room.
friendly and convenient ,
Staying at the James in Chicago was a real pleasure. It is a very nice hotel to come home after a long day.
location, room and staff room internet access was slow
The location of the James is ideal for visiting the River North area. The room is clean, reasonable size, and comfortable. The staff is friendly and helpful. Even on the 17th floor, there was a lot of street noise. We could even hear the saxophone player at the corner of Rush and Ohio! We also had a charge for the room honor bar that was added to our bill even though we did not use it. Watch your receipts!
Great location. All the staff friendly efficient nothing too much trouble . Room spaceous and clean. The best hotel we've stayed in.EXCELLENT. Would definately stay again.
First. Stay there and was given a free upgrade
great staff with helpful info.
I've stayed at several nice hotels in Chicago and this is by far my favorite. Very comfortable, tastefully decorated, incredible A-V/home automation controls. This was the perfect home-base for a multi-day business trip. The atrium also had a splendid Sunday brunch with string quartet. Couldn't be better
Really enjoyed how friendly everyone was towards us especially since we were a young couple there and the staff told us good morning and everything each day and always had a smile on their face I can't really say I didn't like anything about the hotel or service. The only thing was it was a little expensive for us. Other than that everything was excellent
Great location across from Saks and neiman marcus. Hotel gorgeous, bright, elegant in public areas, very comfortable and luxurious room and bathroom
EVERYTHING, THE SERVICE WAS THE BEST AND THE BATHROOMS LARGE AND BEAUTIFULLY DONE. NICE TOUCHES EVERYWHERE! NOTHING
Beautiful room. Inpecable service
I would guess that most people who gave this place a positive review have never stayed at trump. For the same price trump offers a vastly better experience and much more comfort. The gym and spa at trump make this place look like a spa from rural Cambodia. Rooms were an ever so slightly better version of the Conrad. No pillow menu. No glacier water. No espresso machine in room. No microwave or stovetop with dishwasher( all present at trump). And no cake with gold leaf on it for my birthday!!!
Great location! Chicago hotels are expensive, so a good price point Not the most elegant!
Walked in to someone stuck in the elevator. Pot ash in the sink. Broken heater. Then the employees totally took care of us. Can't beat price and location. The business I needed to do was very convenient. For all the haters, this is what Chicago is all about, get over yourselves. 48 per night valet, if you drive. Your not going to get street parking until Chicago blue line stop.
Great location! Room smelled like sewage. Cockroaches in bathtub. I asked for "view preferred" and was mistakenly put on the second floor.
The location is perfect for Mag Mile shopping!! The employees were very nice. The price was also very low in comparison to neighboring hotels. The room thermometer did not work. They tried to fix it and said if it didn't work we would have to switch rooms. The room was 77 and 78 degrees all day/night. The room size is very small. if you do not plan on being in your room much it is fine.
The location is fantastic. You can walk to most interesting attractions. The room was clean and everything worked (lights, A/C, shower, etc) The room was tight. Needed to take out a drawer to open the sofa bed. The staff did not clean the room for the second day. Valet Parking is expensive even though saves you from trouble.
Just steps from Michigan Ave and the Magnificent Mile, this hotel has been my go to place when I'm in Chicago. It's not fancy for the price but it is a good value for the money. Location is key.
Great location and price for the night. Check in was smooth and a smoke free room was nice. happy they checked my bag for the day so I could walk Chicago without my bag. TV was broken and wouldn't turn on. Hair dryer was also broken so much so that the fan was literally rattling around the inside. Heater/air conditioning had a change filter light on which makes me wonder how long it had been since its last change. Shower was pathetic and barely came out of the showerhead. Staff wasn't rude just seemed to be entirely apathetic to guests. Don't know if this is because management is treating them poorly, but Brenda who helped me with check out seemed happier when I smiled and was friendly when I checked my bag for the day.
Nothing at all Our toilet NEVER worked, overflowed, staff tried to fix, but not successful! Our remote did not work, and last night several people on our floor call the police for a domestic dispute! Would never stay or recommend this hotel
The hotel is 1 block eats of the Mag Mile and half way down the mag mile so you are right in the middle of the shopping district. It is easily the cheapest hotel in that area. All other hotels nearby are 2.5 times the price. The room is a little musty smelling and the hotel is a little outdated but it was a place to lay our heads and get some sleep.
Location was excellent Room smelt of damp; condition of room was 'well used'
It was a good location and was relativity easy to find on foot. Our TV didn't work at all, there was candy wrappers and garbage on the floor from the previous guest, the power strip that was used for the coffee maker had a broken off ground in it, clearly a safety hazard. We will not be staying here ever again.
It was cheap and employees were nice. It was dirty, smelly, and everything was old and broken down looking.
