Unico Hotel puts you within a 10-minute drive of Prado Museum and Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum. You can indulge in massages, body scrubs, or mani/pedis, and Ramon Freixa Madrid serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. A bar/lounge and a health club are other highlights, and rooms at this luxurious hotel offer up nice touches like Egyptian cotton sheets and premium bedding.
Pros: Very nice hotel in a great location. Room was small but not surprising for Europe. The martini bar was a nice treat.
Cons: Small room and not enough space for two peoples clothes. The bed was pretty bad. Hard and uncomfortable.
Exceptionally located in the famous Plaza de Colón, the Gran Meliá Fénix is a point of reference for the city hotels and travel, a member of the exclusive group of The Leading Hotels of the World and with the celebrated DRY Cosmopolitan Bar by Javier de las Muelas, the pre-eminent expression of luxury and service all combined with irresistible Spanish charisma. Its magnificent location in the exclusive Salamanca neighbourhood, in the heart of the financial district and surrounded by famous streets such as Serrano, Velázquez, Goya and the Paseo de la Castellana, allows our guests to walk to the city¿s most emblematic landmarks, just 10 minutes from the famous Gran Vía and the major museums such as the Prado, the Reina Sofía and the Thyssen. After its opening in 1953, it has been the hotel of choice for visits to Madrid by such prestigious guests as David Beckham, Bill Clinton, Gary Grant and the Beatles. Its famous suites with their terraces and hydromassages right in the heart of Madrid and the new Red Level Club with bathroom amenities by Clarins, Nespresso machines and free WiFi have made the Gran Meliá Fénix a point of reference for the whole city.
Pros: Top notch for a European hotel in terms of cleanliness and design. The location is not ideal, but taxis were easy to come by. Architecturally it's stunning.
Cons: The rooftop pool is subpar (tiny) and has woefully inadequate seating.
Pros: As other people have said, it is the staff at this hotel that were really great and I have told people about it that I would not normally tell or make comment to. If all hotels used this one as an example of how to deal with customers from the point you enter it, travelling would be a lot more pleasant. It is the little things that they do so well and always cheerfully, they respond, they are good at what they do from the restaurant to the bar to reception and the doorman and porter. I dont know how they do it, but they need to keep the secret and keep it going!!
Cons: The size of the gym and the pool!!
Pros: Rooftop and lobby bars are amazing
Design of the hotel was beautiful and extremely trendy

Pros: Free shuttle from airport. Clean, updated rooms. Cafe/pool. Close proximity to metro station.
Cons: We had 4 cots in a small sized room.
Maydrit Hotel is just 2.5 mi (4.1 km) from the airport and offers a free shuttle (available 24 hours). The restaurant is the perfect spot for a bite to eat, and after visiting the 24-hour fitness center for a workout, you can unwind with a drink at the bar/lounge. An outdoor pool and a seasonal outdoor pool are offered, and rooms at this upscale hotel get the details right with bathrobes and slippers.
Pros: Discovered bedbugs before going to sleep. Had to pack up my belongings in the middle of the night and move hotels. Staff had said they were going to pass along my contact information to the manager. Days later and I've heard from nobody.
Pros: The location was GREAT!!!!! One block away from main street, so quiet in the evening, and perfect during the day. I would definitely stay here again!!!
Pros: My boyfriend and I stayed here with extended family for a week. Great location, everyone that worked there was really nice/helpful and the rooms were great. So happy to have stayed here during our European adventure!
Cons: Breakfast/buffet was not included in our stay but there are great little breakfast spots for a cheaper price right down the road from the hotel.
workout facilities were a little older
Located in the city center, this Madrid hotel is close to the Puerta del Sol and the Gran Via. The Plaza Mayor and Museo del Prado are also nearby.
Pros: The location and facilities are excellent. The staff, especially the front desk personnel, were great—very helpful and knowledge.
Cons: Noise from other rooms and service vendors is a bit distracting in the evening. Breakfast in the restaurant is very nice but formal. it would be nice to also a venue that is simpler and more low key without the white linens
Pros: Great view and beautiful suite on the 5th floor
Pros: DATED, ROOMS ARE LOUD, NO ISALATION CAN HEAR NEIGHBORS ON ALL SIDES AND CLEANING STAFF, THE BED WAS 2 MATTRESS PUT TOGETHER AND VERRY UNCOMFORTABLE, IM 5,10 AND MY FEET HUNG OFF THE END,
Cons: ONCE INSIDE YOU FEEL LIKE A HOTEL FROM THE 70s THE DECORE IS OLD. THE BREAKFAST WAS AGOOD VALUE. OVERALL WE DID NOT ENJOY OUR STAY. MADE 2 PHONE CALL TO TRY AND GET A REFUND WITH NO SUCCESS, IT WAS SO BAD WE CHECKED OUT 1 DAY EARLY.
Putting you in a great location within just a 10-minute walk of Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum and Prado Museum, Villa Real Hotel offers an airport shuttle (available 24 hours) for EUR 90 per vehicle one-way. After visiting the fitness center for a workout, you can grab a bite to eat at the restaurant or unwind with a drink at the bar/lounge. Rooms at this luxurious hotel offer up nice touches like premium bedding, bathrobes, and slippers.
Pros: Kabuki Wellington is worth a trip to the hotel on its own, though you obviously do not have to stay at the hotel in order to dine there. But being able to walk right upstairs after an amazing meal there is fantastic.
Pros: First time visit to Madrid and our visit was enjoyable from check in to check out. The staff was helpful, the room was what we had reserved, and the breakfast was fantastic. We had an opportunity to use the pool and the spa and it was a wonderful way to take a break from sightseeing. The hotel was located near the park and metro.
This imposing Madrid hotel is adjacent to Retiro Park and Alcala Gate in the Salamanca district, 2 blocks from the Serrano shopping area, and 1 kilometre from the Prado Museum.
Pros: Clean, modern accommodation, well-tended by maid service, very comfortable bed. Service at the desk was very helpful and they were very attentive, spending as much time as I wanted for information and suggestions. Comprehensive breakfast buffet for 13 euros. Location in the center of Madrid is really excellent—close to main Metro stop and most sights within reasonable walking distance. Oh, and the shower was luxurious!
Cons: Not much to fault at all. In fact—no complaints at all.
Pros: Four star hotel at a very reasonable price I met the manager James and he was very helpful and friendly and very young. I was at the hotel lfor 10 days and had no complaints. Miquie and German who preped the breakfast were very cordial and polite and smiley and the coffee was good too ....
Cons: Good thing there was no noise the hotel is on a quiet street even can't hear the neighbors next-door......
Central and luxurious hotel in Madrid. The Eurostars Casa de la Lirica is an establishment combining a charming classical style with the most modern facilities together. Situated at 50 meters from the central Sun's Gate from Madrid, the Eurostars Casa de la Lirica has an exclusive design made of its majestic closed patios of domes of marble, woods and worked glass. Its 87 rooms are large and comfortable and equipped with complete Bathroom, TV-set with satellite dish, working table and others more. Also, it has a free WiFi throughout the hotel. The Eurostars Casa de la Lirica is an ideal choice both for holidays and business tourism thanks to its perfect location in the historical centre from Madrid.
Cons: We reserved a room with breakfast thru 'get a room' and surprised to see that it was not a buffet breakfast!!! for getting the buffet breakfast we needed to add some more money....
Not all the recommendations of the concierges were good, sometimes it seemed like they recommended places that they had personal interests/connections in.
Pros: Old world charm and location. Great lobby and dining rooms
Cons: Room furnishings and hall carpets need refreshing
Pros: Staff was delightfully enthusiastic. Setting was beautiful!
Pros: The beds were amazingly comfortable, the housekeepers were not only very amusing but extraordinarily nice. The hotel was insanely clean and had a very comfortable feel to it, as if a lot of fancy people had been through it over the years. The location is good, but not great, for accessing most of the touristy stuff in Madrid. But I found the Prado (directly beside the Ritz) to be horrifically overcrowded compared to some of the other museums like Sofia Reina just down the street.
Note: Not really easy to access via metro, I'd recommend taking a taxi to/from.
Cons: Take the following review with a grain of salt. I am a young person who grew up poor and wanted, for once, the "Ritz" experience:
While I am a big fan of trying new things, I have to say that the Ritz experience just wasn't for me. I don't mean to be crass, but if I had a fistful of fives - I can think of a few places I'd rather spend it than tipping the endless stream of people trying to help me with things.
Additionally, there is a little doll that you place on your door if you do not wish to be disturbed. Note: Don't leave the doll up for very long, because if you do, they will call your room until you answer so that they can ask when the next time they can come in your room is. I nap maybe... 2-3 times per year at most, and I am severely irritated that they felt the need to call during my biannual nap to ask me when they can come in my room. Instead of changing my sheets 3X per day, how about leaving me the hell alone when I have my DO NOT DISTURB DOLL up?
Perhaps I am not cut out for the lifestyle, but I don't want/need people treating me like a helpless child, yet simultaneously making me feel "lower" than they are. Every time I offered a "no thanks, I don't need a taxi, I'm walking" or walked into the hotel from the street, I received these weird looks of incredulity/disdain that I didn't particularly care for. When I brought my own luggage downstairs on checkout I absolutely horrified the front desk attendant.
Why the need to treat people like this? I have no idea. My recommendation? Take the $500 per night you'd spend here for the standard room and split it in half. Take $250 / night to spend on some other hotel's suite. Take the other $250 and stick it back in your pocket.
Built by King Alfonso XIII in 1910, this grandiose Madrid hotel is located opposite the Prado Museum and steps from the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum, the Bourse stock exchange, and Retiro Park.
Pros: Beautiful hotel with nice amenities, a comfortable bed, stunning city views, and a great central location. Easy to walk to most major highlights and the metro station is only 1/2 a block away for anything not walkable. Would love to stay here again.
Cons: Restaurant closed during middle of day. Rooftop lounge closed during my stay.
Pros: Location, Design, Bar Staff, Bathrooms, Room Size
Cons: Check-In Staff Rude, THEY HAVE NO ON SITE PARKING (Site Lies) - expect to walk your bags at least 1/2 mile or more. Beds on floor.
Pros: Comfortable bed, quiet room
Cons: No help with bags, elevator not at ground level. Bathroom shabby.
Pros: Very accommodating staff, and wonderful location and rooftop bar!
Cons: Waitstaff at rooftop bar weren't very friendly!
Its central location in the heart of the city, Gran Via Avenue, allows guests to explore the culture and attractions that surround the hotel such as Thyssen-Bornemisza, Prado Museums, and the Puerta del Sol.
Cons: not a touch of warmth or hospitality. No clock/alarm, no toiletries, no pictures....
even with reservations the bus to the airport was overbooked, tho they did get a cab for us.
Not convenient for T4. In any case, a cab from the airport costs 20e.
Pros: Room was spacious and comfortable, nicely equipped, staff was very professional and friendly, and overall excellent stay and great value for money. Airport transfer was a nice addition too. Our only regret is that we couldn't stay longer.
Cons: Some of the facilities were a bit worn, could have used some maintenance.
Located in Barajas, this hotel is within 6 mi (10 km) of Madrid Congress Centre, Aquopolis, and Real Madrid City. Las Ventas and Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum are also within 9 mi (15 km).
Pros: I liked everything about the hotel, elegant, clean, luxurious, great service, overall a great hotel.

Guests looking for a bite to eat can check out Lobby Bar, which serves Mediterranean cuisine and is open for lunch and dinner. A bar/lounge and a snack bar/deli are offered, and rooms at this upscale hotel get the details right with espresso makers and down comforters.
Pros: The rooms were beautifully decorated. Each floor has an invidual motif. The staff at check in were courteous and efficient. I enjoyed the experience of choosing the style of room on an iPad.
Cons: While waiting for staff to fix my door (keycard would not work), I decided to wait at the main bar on the top of the hotel. one side was marked for a private party, one wasn't. I went to the unmarked side, ordered a drink, and as I was about to pay, the bartender asked if I was part of the event. I told him no and he said that he couldn't serve me and took the drink away. I informed him that I was a guest of the hotel and that this area was not marked as reserved. His manager apologized but asked me to leave. This added insult to injury of being locked out of my room. Were it not for an early flight and the hotel's free shuttle, I would have checked out that instant. Furthermore, the hotel is poorly located in the middle of a boring residential neighborhood. It may be a good value for anyone about to travel but the device and amenities do not merit 5 stars.
Cons: Amateur front desk staff and missing informations
Pros: Hotel is located 2mins from Madrid metro, as well as supermarkets and authentic local tapas bars and restaurants. Attraction of staying here, eventhough your a short complimentary hotel bus ride from the touristy centre, is the hotel's interior which has been designed by a number of world famous architects and designers - Foster, Hadid, amongst others. This is matched by the 5-star service of the hotel.
Pros: Front desk staff was very responsive.
Hotel architecture, floors, rooms, etc are amazing. Never saw anything like them!
Cons: The restaurant staff was terrible. We were two businessmen dressed in suits. We entered the restaurant at 9:15 pm; It was not busy but had a number of tables with patrons. We walked out at 9:40, having gotten not so much as a glass of water, or even a nod in our direction, let alone an "Ill be right with you." Instead the 3-4 waiters and the captain never even made eye contact with us.
So we went to the desk and got a recommendation to a very good restaurant right down the street.
Pros: Facilities, food, service
Cons: internet and web connection wifi did not work
Pros: Very ecological
Staff was very friendly
Staff was always helpful
Very unique floors
Cons: I wished the room's shower had had a door for privacy (second floor)
Pros: Cool design, friendly staff, good restaurant, close to airport
Cons: slow wi-fi, no workspace for business traveler, small gym

Pros: Recommended. We parked a car there; the garage is a tight fit. Everything else about or room and the assistance we received was simply excellent. We did not dine at the hotel, but only because we had other commitments.
Pros: Very well connected to centre and various points of interest.
Cons: It was cold during the night and even with 2 blankets we could not warm up. Bed was hard and not recommended to people with back problems.
Several times at night and very early mornings we heard loud , extended noise, as if someone would move the furniture. It is still a mistery where this noise came from, very unlikely that the hotel guests made it. I would be curious to find out.
Pros: The facilities at Gran Versalles was filled with comfort. The shower facility is different from the rest with separate shower head with clean towels and separated sink for each person. Thank you!
Pros: We arrived at around 11:00 in the morning and they were kind enough to give us an "early check-in". Room was really clean and there was a very nice toiletry kit on the bathroom. Nice little restaurants around the area. Although not at city "centre", it was really easy to get around, especially on the red bus. Would recommend Gran Versalles to everyone!
Cons: Overpriced minibar
