My boyfriend and I stayed here with extended family for a week. Great location, everyone that worked there was really nice/helpful and the rooms were great. So happy to have stayed here during our European adventure! Breakfast/buffet was not included in our stay but there are great little breakfast spots for a cheaper price right down the road from the hotel. workout facilities were a little older
The location was GREAT!!!!! One block away from main street, so quiet in the evening, and perfect during the day. I would definitely stay here again!!!
The location was good. The staff was not helpful at all. There was a long queue at both check in and check out. Upon check in we were not given any instructions about the breakfast that was included in our rate and consequently we needless paid twice for our meal. Since we had booked online, the hotel was "unable" to make restitution. I would never stay at this hotel again or recommend it. There are too many other wonderful options available in Madrid. establishment.
Staff courtesy ,amiability .Clean enviroment
Great room, nice size, clean bigger bathroom than expected. Terrific restaurant with delicious coffee and pastries. We arrived well ahead of check-in and were graciously given our 2 rooms hours early with a smile. The street noise could be heard in room, somewhat.
Great location, double glazed for noise outside, which is abundant as it's right in the city center. Air conditioner, Tv monitor which is also a computer screeen. I didn't expect carpets on floors and some surfaces in a 4 star hotel and in a hot country like Spain. It makes the rooms very stuffy. Also the bath quite claustrophobic, narrow, left very little room for movement in what it looked like more like a niche in a cemetery.
Location & comfort of the rooms. Concierges were very helpful General off hand manner of all waiters and bar staff.
modern, centrally located. Able to get quiet ground floor room (no need to use elevator) location is in the Red Light District--many "characters" loitering about
Room was comfortable and great location Internet connection in the business centre was too slow!
The location and my room was cozy for a single occupant no cork screw in room -- minor
Discovered bedbugs before going to sleep. Had to pack up my belongings in the middle of the night and move hotels. Staff had said they were going to pass along my contact information to the manager. Days later and I've heard from nobody.
The central location of the hotel near Pl.Mayor, Puerta del Sol
Well-located hotel. We had a top floor room that had a balcony that overlooke a monestery with its beautiful ancient tile roofs. No place to set up one, much less two, suitcases.
We stayed at the hotel 4 days and what we liked most was it centric location, within walking distance to everything in old Madrid, and close to bus an metro stops. Plaza San Martin is at the very heart of the city and very close (5 minutes walking) to such city highlights as Plaza mayor, La Opera, Palacio Real, Gran Via, etc. Corte Ingles (the department store) is just around the corner, and also there is parking available (although pricey, $28 euros per 24 hours) just outside the hotel (parking belongs to Corte Ingles). If you have a car, do not park on the city streets as they are "residents only" parking. Breakfast is not included, and if you chose to eat at the hotel, it is pricey. Just walk to any of the coffee shops close to the hotel and have a good continental breakfast at very low price (2-5 euros).
The location is superb! In the city centre, next to the shopping streets, the city discos and with a choice of 3 metro stations. Good value for money too! The breakfast room on the 6th floor has one of the best views of the city. Our room saw the inner court since we had to chose between a double bed or a nice view....but that was ok actually, quiet and neat. The one and only elevator is sometimes too slow but the hotel is a restaured old building with a long history. Absolutely worth the experience!
Their elevator is so unique! Very clean, amazing location for the money. Staff was really nice and helpful
Breakfast too expensive
Location and access to points of interest.
Staff was very helpful (and most spoke english), quick response to requests (towels, room service), very good location near Callao metro stop Bathroom was cramped, you could smell cigarette smoke when running the ac
5 minute walk to Puerto Del Sol (Kilometer 0) and Plaza Mayor in Madrid. Many shops and restaurants nearby. Staff very helpful. A little tough to get to if you are driving your own car. As is often the case in Madrid, it is off a side, side, side street so more conducive to walking than driving in an out. Would have preferred a second bed in the room vs. a rollaway for our adult son, although it worked out okay.
I like its location ,near to metro stations (Callao and Sol) and well deserved . Also, breakfast buffet tasteful and good service . The room was confortable and space of its bathroom nicely shaped . This hotel is quite silence . Staff working at the Front Desk (ridiculous space !) lack of professional skills. Indeed , a no smart people . Also, at the first day of my stay (6 nights) , and in spite of my previous on line booking, they gve me a room without windows in the 1st floor .Smaller and noisy which standart can be compared with a one star in Eurpean hotel.
Beautiful hotel, facing nice old square. Check-in took 30 sec. Comfortable and charming: old-fashioned elevator, bell epoque decor... Bathroom big, new and clean. my room on second floor had a vague smoking smell, I had to open a window while out for a dinner
The location was perfect, the Jr. Suite offered plenty of room, the balcony was quite nice. The majority of the staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was clean. 1 room the A/C and the hair dryer weren't working properly and that was never resolved. The parking was very expensive. Need to vacuum under the beds.
Overpriced - offering poor value for money. I wouldn't stay here again. I also booked a Double/Twin room and received a single room.
I researched hotels for days to get the perfect hotel and the Preciados was perfect. The rooms are small but that is true of most hotels in Europe. The staff were great, the room clean, beds comfortable, the minibar was a great value. It's Proximity to the center was perfect for everything. I read the review "the rooms weren't as nice as they looked in the picture", that review made me nervous, but the rooms were nicer than the picture in my opinion. It was quite. I would deinitely stay there again. We went with my 2 older teenagers and my younger daughter. It was perfect... nothing
Great location. Large, clean rooms. Daniel, our waiter and new friend, was outstanding in the sidewalk café and bar. Incredibly friendly and entertaining. The rest of the world needs to take a lesson on how to pour a drink. Not much. We did have to pull up on the "sidewalk" road, in front of the hotel, to have them take the car to park. However, this is quite common when staying in the larger cities in Spain.
Everything. The hotel was in immaculate condition. Its very central and loved the shutters to keep the city noise out.
The hotel was in a walking distance to most major touristy locations. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Although it is an old hotel, and rooms are somewhat small, latest renovations in rooms are impressive. Breakfast was not included, which allowed us to eat in a nice place across the street. It saved us from overeating and overspending:)) but if you don't mind 17 euro for breakfast - food selection there is great. Many Cab drivers in Madrid are not honest. Hotel staff got us an amazing reliable driver, who we used throughout our stay. (Her name is Beatriz. She only speaks Spanish. But she is punctual and honest and very pleasant - ph.662-272-407) . Keep in mind the temperature cannot be controlled from your room (at least in our room we couldn't). Simple call to the front desk, and it was adjusted to our comfort level. Only 2 small suggestions- I wish a gym in the hotel had water and towels. And I wish the hotel used different type of air freshener - automatic sprays, or diffusers. The one they use, that plugs into electric outlet, is doing more harm than good - it produced very unpleasant (for me and my family) smell.
The staff was very pleasant and accomodated our need for a triple based on a simple e-mail. Although the room had no ash trays, it had cleary been smoked in. The wood floors help with reduction of smoke but the pillows and mattresses retain the odor.
Free Wireless connection, free minibar, clean and well equipped room. Quite location of the room
Staff very extremely friendly
The staff were all extremely friendly, helpful and welcoming. they really made our trip a pleasure. Small things like extra chocs in the room (unexpected) also made a real difference. Excellent location.
Great location, helpful staff, clean and fresh rooms, brilliant bathroom, free mini-bar, welcoming chocolates and cava and Madrid is a brilliant city. Can we move in for good?
Staff service I feel that the breakfast buffet was good but understaffed. You would the folks there running around and quarreling with each other due to amount of work and alignment.
Fantastic position and really helpful and friendly staff
Yes, there are several reasons that I will not return to this hotel. The hallways smelled of smoke and dog urine. The room's inside smelled of smoke and dampness. I felt the sheets were dirty. I thought the room was too small for the price.
The location to the Plaza Major and Sol was perfect. The internet was reliable and accessible in the room. The showerhead was marvelous. The first room was very small and cramped, but after moving rooms, the second room was a bit more spacious.
The location was ideal, the use of the internet. The breakfast was very nice, tasty and fresh. No english speaking channels on the TV. The room was a bit small.
This hotel is in a great location. It was easy to stroll around and see the sights and eat in great restaurants. Also, I felt safe here. The door is kept locked and is opened only by staff. The staff respect your privacy as well. This hotel should have a bar. The breakfast wasn't worth the 10 euros in my opinion. I hated the design of the shower! Impossible to have a shower and not flood the floor.
Just a block or two from Plaza Mayor and Sol. Most points of interest and diverse neighborhoods. The breakfast service was excellent. I also respect well executed retrofitting of old, historic old buildings. Minor, did not get one of the rooms with a French balcony.
hotel had a great central location near lots of great bars and shops.staff very good toilet had damp smell
staff v friendly. good location. nice comfortable room. bikes one morning the shower was only warm, but that was fixed for remainder
Situation in Madrid, Internet access in Room No info on what number to call to get recpetion
Free wifi, Centro, quiet, friendly, clean, exellent bed. Smelly pipeline, water on bathroom floor after taiking shower.
It was central placed in Madrid No
location...laptop in the room & the free internet.
the best was the location of the hotel the horrible smell in the bathroom, real problem of drains in the hotel made the stay in the room not confortable
Steps from mercado San Miguel, plaza mayor, night life, Puerta del Sol, museums, the location could not have been better! The staff was extremely friendly, the breakfast had a great variety, and for the cost could not be beat! The shower was awesome, remodeled! We will be returning there at the end of our trip because we enjoyed the hotel and location so much! Rooms were small
The hotel was very clean we had a huge balcony with a great view. The location is amazing it is located in the center of Madrid . There is a delicious market located directly across from the hotel . The staff was extremely helpful . If I come back to Madrid I would definitely stay here again !!!
Modern hotel in the heart of Madrid. Friendly staff. Walking distance to everything. Great breakfast buffet.
We stayed at this hotel for the fourth time, which speaks for itself. We recommended this hotel to our friends and again they were absolutely satisfied. Would we stay at the Petit Palace Mayor Plaza again? Surely!
Excellent location. Modern hotel.
petit palace is a great location for cental madrid , great shops and restaurants within minutes walk , awful smell of drains in room 8 , needs better windows , can hear people and traffic outside window
Location was the only strength of this hotel. The carpets were dirty. There were just enough room for 4 adults. We stayed in a Petit Palace in Barcelona and the room were really spacious and decided to book with the same chain. But this one was way below expectations.
The staff at the hotel is fantastic. The location is wonderful and everything was very clean The room is very small but when your out it doesn't matter
Location, location, location & fancy bathroom Heavily stained carpet
location was very centric they advertise that they have parking and they do not. Staff was friendly but did not go above and beyond compared to other hotels during this trip.
Perfect lokation for sightseeing and shopping. Quite noisy inside the rooms, you could nearly hear everything from the corridor or next room.
The hotel is excellent. Rooms are very clean, breakfast is superb with lots of variety and location is very convenient. It is just 2 minutes walking from Sol and 1 min from metro station Molina. Free wi-fi was an excellent addition to the services offered.
Excellent situation in the heart of Madrid with no noise No french channel on the TV (but Internet with WI-Fi free which compensates)
Location of the hotel and the helpfulness of the staff. A bit noisy from the outside on the saturday night, but that must probably be expected at such a location. The sunday night was quiet. There was also poor sound isolation between my room and the next one.
I was satisfied with almost everything. The staff was ok, breakfast was good, the location is excellent. It was not the hotel in itself but a strange 'surprise': as I later learned that had checked the validity of my card without letting me know about their intention. This made me some bad minutes but finally we managed to understand each other's position.
We only stayed for two days. Breakfast was very good (also good value for money), the room was clean and very comfortable. In case you choose a public means of transportation to go to the airport the best option is the yellow bus which goes directly there - 30 min walking to Atocha station. Poor English spoken by the staff, no professional attitude; You could hear the sound of the elevator going up and down, but that was not so disturbing because we didn't spend much time in the room during the day.
It was an excellent location, near the metro and Plaza Mayor. The staff were all very helpful and parking was facilissimo. They were extremely accommodating, providing driving directions in Madrid and other advice. No
location is great. the room was big and clean.
We loved the locality of the hotel as it was right in the middle of everything. The staff were very helpful and the rooms were spotless. We also loved having the free Wifi and the breakfast was great value and very tasty. We didn't like the noise from the lift shaft as our room was right beside the lift. This was the only downside. There was a bit of outside noise aswell but the lift shaft was more annoying.
location, clean and comfort room hotel has no rooms with the view
Location, modern design Slightly slow check in process
Very clean, nice hotel. GREAT location. Walking distance from major landmarks and tourist attractions right in the center of the city. Close to metro station. Free Wi-Fi.
Nice hotel but small room. Good location.
Very pleasant personnel, nice and clean bathroom with modern accessories. Perfect location - close to all the main sighseeing places. Room is rather small with not enough places to put the personal things (not a sinle bedside-table). Slight smell in the room as if it used to be a smoking one. Glass door to the bathroom which is not very closing very tight - so the room is defenitely not for romantic stay of a young couple.
Good and quite location, high tech rooms with laptops, nice breakfast and helpful staff at the reception with fair English. There was a technical problem with the room cards, we had to activate them several times each day from the reception desk to be able to open the room doors. But it is bearable when considering the all other good service and faci lities.
1. Great location 2. clean and organized 3. Very good hotel staff
I liked the interior decoration and the central location. And the sound proofing of the windows. No noise from the square at night. Some of the rooms (the one we used) are quite small.
Location, Location and Location Cable TV was only in Spanish and German. Bathroom has no proper shower screen or floor drain, so that water go everywere. The room was at the back with no views.
Great staff. Courteous and accommodating. The room had stained carpeting and it had loose tiles and fixtures in the bathroom. The dining area for breakfast was also a bit run down. Overall the hotel needs some work.
The location, the design, the cleaniless No coffee or tea available even in he lobby.Toilet and bathroom separated only by a thin glass wall from the bedroom. The glass door of the toilet is not even closing: there is a space dow and on the side. No intimacy possible. Also We got two beds and we wanted one bed.
Quiet in a central location. Everything was great and I really loved the balcony....
Location, hotel staff.
good Hitec hotel, good breakfast, ' quite and exelent location
room and facilities were clean, in walking distance from many interesting places in city center, helpful and friendly staff
This was a nice relaxed hotel with a sizeable room for a city-centre hotel in a good location within easy walking distance of many attractions. Some staff command of english was not good and bar snacks in the main lounge (restaurant is downstairs) would have been lovely
Very good location, interesting building, clean and quiet. Breakfast could be improved. We had a problem of over-booking and we had to be transfered to another hotel (of the same chain) for the first night.
Toured around Madrid. Could walk to Plaza Mayor. No. The hotel was good, friendly and clean.
The cleaniness of the hotel/room was good. Good location See above
Not enough sound proofing between rooms.
There is little to like, so save your money and go to a three star hotel instead -- many are better than this one. Yes, the rooms are large and clean, but everything inside is fairly old, and the place has no style or grace at all. Neither does the neigbourhood, really, and it is surely the ugliest few blocks in central Madrid, even if it is close to the major tourist sites. Not recommended at all. Even on a cold day outside (5 C) the inside of the room was like an airless oven, easily 25 C, and there is no way to turn down the temperature or open a window to the fresh outside air, because all the windows actually open to an interior courtyard that is just as hot and stifling. You won't sleep well.
Within walking distance to many important sites and the rate Yes, for a 4 star hotel I expected complimentary bodylotion, as there was the ususal paraphernalia
Great location between Plaza Mayor and Atocha train station. Staff was very helpful with recommendations. Room was big and clean. Free wireless internet. Bed was a bit hard, room was hot (A/C was not available), and noisy at night (downside of central location).
The location, cleanliness of the room The room was a little on the small side and the furnishings were quite basic
The location is really good!! Yhe staff look always to be tired and do not give attention to the guest.
Contempory look, clean, very convenient location. The bathroom had a glass door!
the location was great near the big place del sol .... shopping and restaurants are very close
Modern style and street view room!
The location of the hotel is good that it is closed to Sol metro / train station. However, there are many other hotels available at that area. 1) furniture&facilities are old; sliding doors of carbinet & bath can't open/close properly. 2) Hotel staff tidy up the hotel room everyday but not change the bed sheet and towels. At my arrival day, one bath towel is still wet at hotel room. 3) We are assigned to a room without computer. After request, hotel staff re-assigned another room for us with computer available. However, we can't open the room door and we returned back to the receiption and ask for help. We on and off tried opening the door and returned to reception repeatly. Finally, we found that the door lock actually can't function properly. So, we requested to change back to the first room even without computer. The staff are then black-faced.
Location, asked for interior room high off the street and the noise wasn't a problem There was a musty smell
staff were lovely. nice sized rooms Difficulty parking around there. would have been nice to have parking information concerning this hotel
CEntral location for a nice walk around the city It could have been more clean!
Great place for getting around in the city. Had plenty of room for 6 people with two bathrooms. Great value for money! The breakfast was great, too!
location, quietness, comfortable and stylish room
The location is really convinient, a few mins walk to the Palace, Plaza de la Sol, Gran Via and Plaza Mayor. The room is really small, some staffs are not too good in English.
cleanliness the club outside the window and the noise it generated in the early hours of the morning1
Good location for major attractions and very friendly and helpful staff.
central location and efficient rectification of fault with bath / shower, also 24hr reception did not get 4.15am wake up call requested on day of departure
A totally pleasing experience.
We were staying in Opera hotel for 12 days! The location is very central, Excellent staff, friendly and helpful. room was well equipped and clean. Good beds.Great hotel, We enjoyed every single minute in Madrid. Very modern hotel . The ideal spot to discover Madrid. We like the style of the hotel from insideGood central location, Excellent staff, managed humanly by the professional and kindly Jefe de Recepcion, Mr. Daniel Carus von der Ehe. best regards from ema and shmuel.
Location was excellent - a two minute walk to the Palace and Cathedral and a few more minutes to Plaza de Espana and Gran Via. I would absolutely stay here again when I'm back in Madrid. Staff was very nice and helpful. Oh, free wifi and a large safe in the room were nice to have. Only complaint was that the room was dusty in certain areas.
Friendly reception staff. Rooms warm and welcoming Pillows could have been better quality
I liked the location of Hotel Opera most of all! It was great, almost next to the royal palace!
View from bedroom window down into Plaza san Isabel & across to Opera. ~Two minutes from main metro. Good choice of restaruants nearby. Central Shower instead of bath. Little room in bedroom. Inadequate bedside table (no drawer to put small things in. Slippery, dangerous shower cubicle.Shower kept slipping sideways on wall.

Location is perfect. Rooms are very small and very hot. Cannot control the temperature.
The location ! The room !
The location was perfect. It was very close to everything I wanted to see. The staff was very helpful in providing a map. The bathroom was one of the best. Nice shower. I was not a fan of the room. It had no windows and was clausterphobic. It also was very noisy. Breakfast was a little weak compared to the other facilities traveling around Spain and Italy.

Location Noisy from outside
good breakfast.flexible arrangements let us store our luggage. relaxed feel to hotel. very goodlocation
Very central location, good buffet breakfast. Very warm and stuffy - even in March. Needs air conditioning - essential in summer.
Location is the main feature. Most attractions are within easy reach The room for 4 was a bit smalletr than expected and the use of bunk beds for adults is not recommended.
Great location. Friendly bi-lingual staff. Upper floor rooms have large balconies with views to Puerta del Sol. Laptop in the room. Decor is starting to get tires. Pieces of trim missing from the walls. Walls were dirty, with handprints. Room smelled badly. I had to sleep with the door open to the balcony, which made for a noisy night, since it sits right on the pedestrian area in a bar district. I think another room would have been fine.
Walking distance from pretty much everything (bars, restaurants, palace, etc) but the museums (Prado and Reina Sofia). Good taste in the choice of furniture and design. We had a room that was facing the interior "courtyard" which is in fact the hotel restaurant/bar, which makes it really noisy, impossible to sleep before 2am if you're lucky even with good earplugs. Sometimes it seems that the restaurant staff makes more noise than the clients. There is also no space reserved for the hotel clients such as a lobby or anything.
Fantastic location on a street that has many great restaurants and bars! No fitness Center
central situation room was very old.did not seem to be clean.waiting for renovation,as other rooms were done already
All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was comfortable and clean. The sliding door on the bathroom didn't leave much room for privacy.
I liked the quaint retro feel and the ease of access to so many great spots in Madrid!
Great location and staff, and a pretty good breakfast. The hotel is really cute.
Helpful people at the reseption, God location. Bad smel i my room. The price was to high comparet with the standard of the hotel.
Location was the only good thing. Undergoing refurbishment which is badly required. No internet, no bar, lift does not cover all floors, no tea, coffee making facilities in room.
Excellent value for a very good room.
The location The fact that on internet there are beautiful renovated rooms and then the offer is always for the shitty rooms they have left... so it´s a shame.
Location, friendliness of staff, 24 hour reception. It was a two star hotel so I didn't expect the earth. It was fine for what I paid, no real complaints - just minor things like lack of English language TV channels or complimentary shampoo.
The location is excellent! Right near the heart of Madrid. The staff are rude, abnoxious, self centered and about as helpful as an ash tray on a Ducati....
