the design of the hotel
Special design elevator malfunction and not capable for so many people. I have to wait 10 minutes or even longer for it. Emergency exit were locked and only opened in the basement
design excelent, breakfast also! swimming and SPA closed, diffucult to adjust temp in room
design. nothing at all.
The Silken Puerta America is a very well designed hotel. It is completely different to any other hotel I have experienced before. The location was poor, being 5kms from Sol / Plaza Major, which is a little too far to walk. Perhaps if they offered a shuttle service to drop guests into town.
Design of the room and bars. SPA is very small and poor.
Staff were very professional and discreet. Room was funky and I loved the circular bed and huge tv screen. 1 minute from metro which is clean, cheap, cool and frequent. Nicely finished, Great towels, robes and bedlinen as well as plentiful toiletries. Make sure you overlook the road and are not overlooked by the blocks of flats on the other side.... Only 2 floors are no smoking, limiting choice of room styles. Spa is not a spa - just a small pool with a room off it for beauty treatments or else a massage in a room on 4th floor (but then I got to see another room style!).
Hotel is located 2mins from Madrid metro, as well as supermarkets and authentic local tapas bars and restaurants. Attraction of staying here, eventhough your a short complimentary hotel bus ride from the touristy centre, is the hotel's interior which has been designed by a number of world famous architects and designers - Foster, Hadid, amongst others. This is matched by the 5-star service of the hotel.
The concierge, Jose Maria is amazing. Great place.
Thi is one of the best hotel in Madrid, one of the best in the world. I'm travelling alot, but this is the best hotel i've staied in. The desing is different in each room, in the room u have a real king size bad. The service is perfect. Donstairs there is a restaurant, i would recomment to visit it. I'll come back again.)
Rooms were modern, hallways narrow and dark. Only 2 English speaking television stations (CNN, BBC News). Internet access was simple and reasonable. Staff were very efficient and polite. Breakfast was very expensive (25 Euros) for a buffet. This is more than double what the price should have been. No desk the room, so had to use a small coffee table for business and computer requirements.
comfortable room breakfast too expensive
Friendly personnel and location
easy walk from the bus terminal, very close to metro, relatively close to airport -- 30 minutes. Room was clean and big, staff were friendly. I had one night in town between arriving on the bus and going to the airport in the morning, so it was perfect. not very convenient to city centre and nightlife, you have to ride three different metro lines to get to Sol station.
Easy access FITUR and airport Breakfast - bad value for money
easy - all as it should be
The top quality room and staff
Everything is new and very clean
Hotel Staff are very friendly. Hotel is located in a suitable area.. Television has All Spanish Channels except for cnn and bbc
It provided everything you would need during your stay and it was right near the metro
close proximity to metro and bus station. very friendly barman. no
room outside of the hotel - looks really bad
the free minibar, nice bathroom -
Excellent breakfast, free mini bar - refilled daily, clean and quiet room! Pay attention that the nearest metro station is Cartagena and not Avenida de America.
very quiet room and quite spacious for the price. Was disappointed to find no tea-coffee making facilities, only cold drinks available in a min-fridge. No complimentary snacks as in other hotels with similar rooms of this price range. The breakfast was too expensive at Euros 16.
Free refills of mini bars (water very appreciated), staff at front desk were professional and informative shower system was strange...leaked like crazy!
Everything you would want quiet close to the subway station nice staff -english speakers
Free minibar Friendly staff Nice room
excellent price/quality/location balance. Nice, calm and very clean rooms, quick and cheap transfer from and to airport (1€ bustrip) and metro around the corner
The sevrices The room had a problem with water and was not painted again.
The hotel receptionist when we arrived was very friendly and helpful and gave us lots of useful advice. Liked having a fridge in room. Was very convenient for Metro. Would have liked a kettle (or access to the cooking equipment) - as the apartment did have a kitchenette.
It was close to the Metro station
location, staff, cleanliness, kitchen facilities
Comfortable room, pleasant staff, proximity to metro, supermarket and centre of city. Air conditioning was a little noisy in the mornings, however after two nights is was not noticable.
Clean and quiet. Modern rooms
The triple room was very spacious and would be plenty of room for a family with two children. Location was great, since it was close to the people we were visiting. Quiet neighborhood with easy access to all the sights by using the metro. Beds were pretty hard, other than that, no complaints
good value for money, near metro station, food supermarket in 100m.
The staff were friendly and helpful. The location was good for access to the rest of the city and the hotel was very clean and comfortable. The headboard of the bed! Wasn't fixed properly to the wall and any movement in the bed caused a loud noise - this is not unique to this hotel and seems to be fairly common in Spain - would have been embarrassing for a couple!
It was the hotel I had lived in for 1 year -3 years ago. The staff were the same and they put my wife and me in the same room. A trip down memory lane.
very clean cosy and pleasant. Mordern and good furniture. a bit far away from Madrid areas of interest. GReat fro Salamanca
i only stayed 1 night & did'nt have time to do anything in my hotel out of 5 staff on reception only 2 spoke english. a slight problem when i got back sunday night & the man on reception did'nt speak it.
Ralexed after having walked the Camino de Santiago; sightseeing in Madrid At the website it says it is near tha Chamartin trainstaiton, Well, near is near and not.....
Efficient friendly staff. Hotel was conveniently close to tube station and local shops. Kitchenette was useful
Location - quiet and close to metro. Value for money. Need to guess which "kitchen utensils" to bring - we had to buy glasses, friends needed bowls and a cup.
Location - close to metro Prosperidad;Very nice staff.
Price is ok for Madrid city Kitchen with almost no tools. Bad area for parking. Room is not comfortable at all, old chairs, no sofa, small TV. Needs refurbishment.
is near to metro.and only 10minutes to city centre
I liked the facilities whereby i was able to coook, wash and do anything by myself. Everyhing was fine only that there was no sugar, oil and any basic needs it only had drinks
I particularly liked the kitchen facilities, which meant that as we were there for a whole week I could cook some food rather than eat out all the time which becomes costly. Some very good shops in the area with the local market selling good food at cheap prices, When there was someone in the room next to us you could hear them - a bit more sound proofing would have been good. A few more utensils would have been handy for the kitchen facilities and a kettle.
Gret apartments on the outskirts of the city centre. Well placed on the metro with access to the centre in less than 15 mins. A good selection of bars and restaurants only 5 minutes walk away in a quiet and safe area of Madrid.
Price for 4 people stay was only 83 Euro per night (family room). It seems none of three receptionists I met there speaks English. However, this was not a real problem.
Good location, friendly and helpful staff and good relation price/quality. Thank you.
Overrall good value for money Reservation was not kept live despite arrival in time as per bookings!!Thanks to active hotel staff for the help to sort the matter out as expected. twin beds are not quite comfortable, double bed should be made available
it was nothing good in that selection, i m very sad that i was a victim of the marketing and from the title internacional suites!!!!you should never go in that hotel!! how you can work in a hotel inside the center of madrid and you dont speak english??,,the aeria really bad and with immigrants really dangerous.the aircontidtion didnt work, the pillow was really empty and the room was really bad nothing to look like a suite
Position We were given a very bad accomodation at ground floor the first night and we moved to another one the next day. The kitchen basin was broken as well as the main window of the apartment
Basic facilities, good connection with city, needed more utensils in the room. Very honest cleaner
Convenient position People from adjacent rooms making a lot of noise during the nights till sunrise and the staff unable (or unwilling) to stop them!!!!
It is located 2 minutes walk from the Prosperidad tube station, it has a Lidl and other shops nearby, if you want to cook in the apartment. The room has an aircon which is essential if you want to visit Madrid in the summer (baking hot). Reasonably clean. Constant noises from moving chairs/tables and from the electrical/boiler/fridge system. It is not really an apartment, the kitchen is not separate but part of your sleeping space with no separating door or even wall in the studio. The kitchen did not have oven or gas, only two simple electric heaters. There is not enough light in the apartment and the curtains are shabby.
Access to metro. Apartments on 5th floor were good size - spacious. Good facilities. Staff were kind, welcoming and very helpful. Some rooms were a bit small for 4 people. As it is self catering, the area for eating was not adequate for 4 people. Hotel staff did upgrade to bigger rooms when they became available.
