Clean, nice staff. Great location. Strongly recommended!
It's clean easy access hotel No food available in the afternoon (not even a sandwich)after our arrival.
The location, the staff, the room decorations, the room service, the quiet at night and particularily the breakfast. hi speed internet, Rather small elevators [to be expected in a building of that age], A/C a bit undersized.
The location was perfect because our goal was to be able to visit the three major art museums within walking distance to our hotel. Parks, restaurants and shopping were also right there. The concierge was excellent in making flamenco arrangements for us. When I called ahead to check our reservation, the clerk answering the phone said that we would need to stay in one queen size bed and that to have twin beds would cost 500 euros per night. When we arrived, the registration clerk upgraded us to two twin beds at no extra cost.
Close to museums Over priced! Everything is outrageously expensive. Staff is not interested in the guest. No room facilities for heating water for coffee or tea. Not enough towels.
Great location. Beautiful old hotel. Concierge excellent. Breakfast very expensive. Staff was not well informed of the hours of restaurant.
its close proximity to museums and sites. the high cost for internet usage.
Great bed and amazing pillows....very quite despite its central location. Quite expensive breakfast (buffet) for what is offered.
Service is excellent all around. The location is central and easy walk to popular plazas, a great park. Breakfast is amazing with self serve champagne!
Location of hotel Comfort of bed was spolt by squeaking everytime you moved in the bed!
Staff was unfriendly
The calm atmosphere and the beautiful interieur. Luxurious but still nice and comfortable. The price of two drinks was about the same as the price of one flight ticket back to Oslo . . . .. .
Have stayed there before and was 'welcomed back'. It is ideally located, overall a very pleasant hotel. Excellent staff.
Hotel staff were fabulous ,location excellent As long as you dont mind a bit of faded grandeur and pink wardrobes an excellent choice
Staff was delightfully enthusiastic. Setting was beautiful!
The room The location The general ambience We reserved a room with breakfast thru 'get a room' and surprised to see that it was not a buffet breakfast!!! for getting the buffet breakfast we needed to add some more money.... Not all the recommendations of the concierges were good, sometimes it seemed like they recommended places that they had personal interests/connections in.
The pleasure that a very comfortable and opulent hotel can give. The reception rooms are magnificent and staff and service were excellent, as you would expect.
We liked this hotel very much, luxury. Staff was very polite, we arrived 13 p.m., check in should be 14 p.m., we were offered to wait 20 minutes and offered drinks free of charge. In room we also found compliments, it's very nice, when you arrive. Buffet breakfast costs 30 eur per person.
Fantastic, we generally dont spend that much money for a hotel but after a terrible experience the night before, it was worth it!
The location, comfort and style. We stayed at the hotel 7 days and the 4th day we had to ask to vacuum the room. Only one arm chair fitted into the small room we had. Cleaning inconsistent. Not much selection at breakfast even when it was very expensive.
Old world charm and location. Great lobby and dining rooms Room furnishings and hall carpets need refreshing
I loved the hotel, the look of the outside and the entry. The service is not what I have experienced at other Ritz hotels. The rooms were dated.
The beds were amazingly comfortable, the housekeepers were not only very amusing but extraordinarily nice. The hotel was insanely clean and had a very comfortable feel to it, as if a lot of fancy people had been through it over the years. The location is good, but not great, for accessing most of the touristy stuff in Madrid. But I found the Prado (directly beside the Ritz) to be horrifically overcrowded compared to some of the other museums like Sofia Reina just down the street. Note: Not really easy to access via metro, I'd recommend taking a taxi to/from. Take the following review with a grain of salt. I am a young person who grew up poor and wanted, for once, the "Ritz" experience: While I am a big fan of trying new things, I have to say that the Ritz experience just wasn't for me. I don't mean to be crass, but if I had a fistful of fives - I can think of a few places I'd rather spend it than tipping the endless stream of people trying to help me with things. Additionally, there is a little doll that you place on your door if you do not wish to be disturbed. Note: Don't leave the doll up for very long, because if you do, they will call your room until you answer so that they can ask when the next time they can come in your room is. I nap maybe... 2-3 times per year at most, and I am severely irritated that they felt the need to call during my biannual nap to ask me when they can come in my room. Instead of changing my sheets 3X per day, how about leaving me the hell alone when I have my DO NOT DISTURB DOLL up? Perhaps I am not cut out for the lifestyle, but I don't want/need people treating me like a helpless child, yet simultaneously making me feel "lower" than they are. Every time I offered a "no thanks, I don't need a taxi, I'm walking" or walked into the hotel from the street, I received these weird looks of incredulity/disdain that I didn't particularly care for. When I brought my own luggage downstairs on checkout I absolutely horrified the front desk attendant. Why the need to treat people like this? I have no idea. My recommendation? Take the $500 per night you'd spend here for the standard room and split it in half. Take $250 / night to spend on some other hotel's suite. Take the other $250 and stick it back in your pocket.
The reception area was tiny and there was no one to help carry our luggage up the flight of stairs. There's no bellhop. I booked 2 mos. in advance and was given a tiny corner room with a view to a construction site. The tv was on when we put our card in the electricity slot, and the screen said, "no signal". We couldn't turn it off by the remote or the power button. I went told the front desk at about 6:00pm. We arrived back to the hotel at 10pm, it was still on. I unplugged it. At 11:45pm, someone knocked on the door to fix the tv. I told them that I had unplugged it. This was too late to be making a service call. (creepy) My daughter found a large, black bug on her pillow, and when I looked under mine I did too! Ain't a Palace!
Excellent placement, excellent breakfast, excellent view, excellent room ! I will stay in this hotel again. The reception area, too small for a 4* stars hotel-may be is provisionally, due to refurbishment. But is functional, so there is no bad points !
The room decoration - as said, the classical modern feeling of it -, the large windows on one of the main streets in Madrid (perfect sound insulation), the breakfast on the terrace with a view. The bathroom fittings and cosmetic kit (exquisite fragrance choice for the shower gel, shampoo and soap). Breakfast selection was good and fresh, excellent coffee. I found the two tiny and slow elevators extremely unpractical but I understood there was little room for improvement since the initial building's structure was such.
Excellent location, very cozy. Nice terrace bar with additional wrap around balcony with beautiful city views. No fitness facilities.
Mainly the location, and the lady on reception was very helpful with giving tourist information and places to go. Asked for a couples room - I got 2 seperate beds - I also put on my booking that it was a romantic get away ....our view was basically a building site so i felt very let down. For that reason I wouldnt recommend the hotel to couples. - If the price had been lower inlcuding these reasons I would have felt more statisfied.
location, accessibility, lovely ensuite, 6ft bed, roof terrace, very pleasant staff tried to book a flamenco night, place we wanted was booked up, man at reception recommended another place a bout 5/10min walk from hotel, same was very disappointing flamenco show was good, food was awful, tables jammed together
The location was great, the staff spoke english, the rooms were quite comfortable, and they had good toiletries Elevators were quite small, as was the lobby. Room lost power and had to change rooms. But they were very accommodating and it was easy to do.
The location is truly Ada Palace's big selling point! While not exceptional, the room was comfortable and -- at night -- surprisingly quiet despite facing busy Gran Via. I found the reception staff to be courteous and helpful. All in all, an above-average option for travellers looking for a place in the centre of town. The lifts are indeed small, but -- lacking any mobility issues -- it wasn't a major issue for us. In addition, older reviews made note of the lifts, so we were able to take this into account before booking the room.
Very well situated at the junction of Gran Via and C. Alcala, a short distance to f.ex. Puerto del Sol. The room was great, breakfast is superb (bit pricey). As others have mentioned, there is no reception area to speak of (small), but the bar at the top is nice and after all you are on a city holiday. Short walking distance (2-3 min) to the metrostation Banco de Espana, and you can take the metro to/from the airport there by changing two times (at the stations Mar De Cristal and Goya). Recommended for the price. Small elevators yes, as some people has mentioned but that didn't bother us even with 2 large suitcases.
Location Small reception area
Excellent location. Beds very comfortable. Hotel still not fully open and noise of workmen woke us in the morning. Bathroom wash area actually in the room not standard 5 star - no desk area.
We liked the baythroom set up and the comfort of the linens and beds
At 5:40 in the morning intruders entered our room as we slept. They entered with flashlights through a side door and only left when we began screaming. It was a terrible experience. The hotel's reception seemed very surprised but did nothing to reassure us that we were safe there.
great size of room the toilet was across the room from the sink--makes it tough to wash hands. Also, no doors between room and shower area, makes it tough for those sharing a room who don't want to be so exposed, like grandmother and grandson!
I like the small size of the hotel, quietness, no noise from neighbours, good modern design, comfort, new furniture and bed linen. The size of rooms could be bigger. There was no bath in the room only the shower. The hotel staff is polite but not well trained (for example VAT shall not included in the hotel bill during check out if booking is made via www.booking.com site). More information in the hotel shall be provided about city attractions, restaurants etc.
Very Clean & well designed. Bed was super comfortable. We liked the location. Located in quiet & beautiful area. Nice walking through the Park to Prado Museum.
Staff helpful but not intrusive. Room was modern and airy. Very large comfortable bed. Breakfast good quality
Nothing Small pokey room with inefficient air conditioning. Indifferent staff. Very expensive mini bar ie 5EUR for a small bottle of water. Would definately not stay here again nor would I recommend it to anyone else. Stay regulary at 5* Hotels around the world and this has to be classed as medicore 4* at best.
The comfort and cleaniness of the room. The staff was excellant. The open plan style of the bedroom/bathroom needed to be adjsuted to.
quite and relaxing
Location, bellboy service, Expensive, old rooms, poor service, low water pressure of the shower, not worth the money..
The staff was very friendly and helpful and the location just perfect - right in the city centre.
Well-located hotel close to museum district and shopping areas. Staff extremely helpful and polite. Design and layout of the rooms, and hotel in general, is very appealing.
The staff was extremely helpful and they upgraded us to a jr suite. The location to the park and designer shops very good. Also great breakfast.
Location and especially attentive service overall
All the facilities but particularly the helpful, courteous and multi-lingual staff. No
Perfect location. Beautiful rooms and facilities. Good amenities (Aqua di Parma!). Nice staff. Breakfast extremely expensive. Poor internet reception (slow). Dirty and not warm jacuzzi.
The area was so nice and quiet. I like to walk so the convenience to other transportation sites was fine. This is a great hotel. The bed was so comfortable. The staff actually respects your wishes of not being disturbed. I will stay here again on my next visit.
Nice location by Retiro Park Overpriced and not good valuie. They refused to send an ironing board to the room, we had to pay for a valet service to iron our clothes! The hotel bar was a tiny dark room with no windows! And their website lied saying the room had a balcony, which it didn't. We only chose this hotel because we wanted a balcony, so were very disappointed.
I would recommend this hotel to all those, who like to be close to the centre but not in the midst of traffic noise. Walking distance to all major galleries (Prado, Thyssen, Reigna Sophia), beautiful park just in front of the hotel, excellent services and - yeah - free minibar - all this makes this hotel excellent. I would prefere separate bathroom instead of glass wall inbetween the room and bathroom.
The hotel is clean and well appointed. There were ample facilities (restaurants, pools, etc.) It was fairly empty, so many of the facilities downstairs (pub, screening room, etc.) were not open. The entire downstairs was dark. It just seemed so empty and lonely
The Hotel staff were the most pleasant helpful group of people in all our travels in Spain. We were traveling for 2 weeks.I would go back to this Hotel anytime. I did not like that people could smoke on the Hotel property.
Very well located and very comfortable. Had everything I needed for my buisiness trip.
We loved the location and the staff was very helpful
Located centrally with nice clean reasonably sized rooms. The street it is on is a little less nice than some of the other hotels in the chain but this no doubt contributes to its reduced price. Highly recommended overall as long as a glamorous hotel facade on a beautiful street is not one of your criteria of selection.
The rooms were large and some thought seemed to have gone into the design. Also, it was very centrally located and the staff had good English. The extra charges, especially for breakfast seemed to be steep.
We loved this hotel. The location is convenient and quiet, and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Our room was spacious and, like the rest of the hotel, tastefully appointed, in modern style. Really, a first-rate hotel - we'll definitely choose the Vincci Centrum for future visits to Madrid.
The hotel staff were very attentive and pleasant to deal with. We received an upgrade without requesting one. Also great location, in the middle of the city near a lot of museums and restaurants.
Comfort and cleanliness of rooms and hotel in general. The location was perfect for my requirements No
Modern room decor Room air conditioning not very effective (ie not cool enough)
fantastic location, walked to everything! Very modern hotel. Staff was helpful, room was clean and modern. Breakfast was poor, no swimming pool.
No Fitness Center, even though it was marked as having one
No room service
very nice hotel, well appointed and reasonable size room, walking distance to the Prado, Plaza del Sol, etc. breakfast was good, dining area very nice but quite pricey vs. the cost of the same food anywhere else nearby
good choice for a short break with adequate facilities in a convenient location
Great location between Gran Via and Chueca. Close to Banca de España metro. Quiet. Wooden floors mean there is a lot of noise from other rooms and hallways. Walls also seem very thin. Can hear everything.
i like the location amazing close to everything almost i dont need to use a taxi.i would recommend . the only thing i didnt like is everyday i put the sign of no disturb and i leave my room and when i comeback they change it and they clean my room which is i didnt ask for cleaning so i explain to the reception and they inform the cleaning lady ....at next time they throu my personal shampo they found it and i could not do anythiung anyway its fine loool and it was my final day but i had to use there shampoo :( which i dont like to use hotel shampoo ever.
Clean , modern and businesslike. Hard to be recognized as a Hotel. Entrance trees-flowers need upgrading..... Eingangsbereicht ergr
This is a beautiful, well-maintained property in a central, convenient location. All requests for the room were met, and the facility was quiet and had the amenities expected in a four star establishment. The staff was overall wonderful, and would have rated excellent but for one individual. The hotel phone system seemed unable to connect us to an international operator to make a collect call to our credit card issuer; the front desk staff, however, who were always cheerful and helpful, eventually connected us directly to the credit card company. A bigger problem was the attendant for the buffet breakfast on Friday (another young woman managed the breakfast on Wednesday, and she was quite helpful). On Friday, however, coffee was only served once and halfway through the meal, and our complaint about the cold and overly salty scrambled eggs was ignored. This was a disappointing lapse in a wonderful hotel, with an otherwise excellent staff.
Great location to walk to all museums and tourist attractions and great shopping and eating. On a cool street just around the corner from Metro stop. Small room. Hard bed and not many pillows. Still a great value.
The location was central and close to restaurants and bars. The buffet breakfast was very good. The staff were very helpful with any queries we had.
This was a phenonemal place to stay in Madrid. It is perfectly located off of the Gran Via and is in a quiet neighborhood. We were able to walk to the Prado and the other museums in the area. The staff was especially gracious and went out of their way to secure any service we needed. Absolutely nothing.
Very good position, near the center and the underground Poor barh amenities
Beautiful room; lovely buffet breakfast; friendly and helpful staff; beautiful facility with courtyard restaurant; couldn't be better located. A+++ Not a thing
kitchen included, excellent location, less noisy than average, good breakfast nothing
the position of the hotel is great, in a quiet street but very close to the centre of the city.
location, friendly staff, superb standard of room breakfast was not brilliant
We particularly enjoyed the restaurant food. The breakfasts were first class and the evening Executive menu and a la carte food were very good value Spanish cuisine freshly cooked for us at the early (by Spanish standards) hour of 8 pm. Disappointed not to be able to use the garden but the weather was too cold.
Good place for sightseen and shopping. Very guiet and comfortable.
The staff was wonderful and very accomodating. I became ill while staying at the hotel and they bent over backwards to find me a doctor that visited the hotel who spoke English. Even though they were sold out for one of the nights I was sick, they let me stay in the room and handled the sold out problem in a wonderful manner. Great service and the management needs to be commended on their staff.
Great location . Excellent breakfast which we all enjoyed , 4 of us aged 79 down to 20 years of age !!! Very pleasant staff. Bathrooms could do with an upgrade and more staff required at reception especially in the morninf for check out.
Very fine hotel with large rooms. Quiet location in city center. Rather thin walls between the rooms
Excellent location, near Retiro, Serrano and museums, with good restaurants, etc nearby. Small comfortable hotel with helpful staff. Pleasant garden/ terrace area (though unfortunately not in winter).
