The cabin crew were very friendly, organised and polite.

The flight was delayed 20min from the outset as the pilot explained to all onboard that we weren't allowed to land early at Dubai airport. Towards the end of the flight the plane was delayed for over another hour as we circled the gulf waiting to land. This wouldn't have been so inconvenient if the lights were dimmed again as it was 2-3am local time and passengers wanted to sleep.

Had I known that the second segment of the flight is Pakistan international airlines I would have never booked the flight on kayak. Very dangerous and third class airline. The sight should clearly show all the details when u search for the flights. As it was showing all flights on Etihad. Will never make reservation on kayak again

Garuda is still the best over the other international airlines. The crews were so kind and helpful. Its pilots handled the bad weather very smooth. During the flight they kept giving foods and drinks.

Transfer was handed well between domestic and international terminals, but not a moment to spare. Cabin crew was attentive and highly professional. The announcements were handled well. Will fly them again!

In Guangzhou there was just enough time to transfer between flights. If there had been a delay, I would have easily missed the connection. The connections at Guangzhou involve multiple gyrations of shuttles between terminals and immigrations, etc. There was an opportunity to upgrade the cabin while boarding, but was not well announced or implemented. I would have welcomed the chance to upgrade.

Flight to Istanbul was fine. The flight back was a terrible experience! During our connecting flight in Athens our boarding passes wouldn't print at the self service computers and there was no one to help us so we had to go back out to the front desk. The airline representative was extremely rude. There was 5 employees standing around the computer with NO customers and when we asked if this was Turkish Airlines and if they could help, the woman (manager) responded "this WAS Turkish Airlines" as if they were done helping customers for the day (it was 9AM and our flight was leaving in 45 min). We explained that we couldn't print our passes and she ROLLED her eyes as if it was an inconvenience to help us. THEN on our flight from Istanbul to Chicago, a passenger died an hour into the flight and they placed the body on the seats behind us for over 10 hours! Nobody even told us what happened! We didn't know if they died from natural causes or if it was something else! They didn't offer to seat us somewhere else or even inform us they were placing the body there. We were completely shocked and uncomfortable the whole flight home. We couldn't eat or sleep. We're completely disgusted and scarred from this overall experience.

The flight to Lviv was cancelled after 3 hours delay. All happens in life. But the only option Turkish airlines were offering is to fly the next day. I was flying to the funeral and this was not working for me (especially this was their second flight to Lviv cancelled - 2 in a row). The transfer desk didn't inform that there were two other flights going the same day of other airlines. When i approached to help me to go with a different airline the personal was very rude saying they will not help transferring the luggage and that they can't unload the luggage sooner than 3 hours after you go out of the security and passport control. When i asked to book to a different destination in Ukraine. It took 50 min at the desk to do it. Simply because 4 people at the desk were laughing and joking and nobody was concerned about the queue of over 40 people staying. After 30 min it turned out they've lost my boarding pass and it took 15 min to find it as one of the transfer guys managers simply took it to a different room... At the end when they found it it took only 5 min to do the work. I would appreciate more information from the desk about available flights and more support to manage the situation. I'm happy that people at the transfer desk are so joyful and happy it obviously helps to deal with the stressed passengers whose flight was cancel.

Lined up, crew took our tickets, we loaded on the bus to bring us to the plane, but the bus just stayed there for 10-15 mins. Then they told us all to get off the bus and go back into the terminal and wait. No explanation or apologies. Waited another 30 mins then everyone lined up again. They never explained what the issue was - it was a bit unsettling. Like, was it a meintamice issue? Should we be worried for our safety? Or was the aircraft simply late/delayed? Upon taxiing and take off the pilot finally said they were delayed from a previous flight and the plane needed to be “checked.” Would’ve like to know that an hour earlier when we first got kicked off the bus.

Aircraft state of the art (A350). Economy Premium cabin is standard, but definitely above some other companies. Cabin crew do an excellent job, with a business-like attitude. Food service quick and efficient. The food is good. Will travel with them again, if they keep the low prices for this Premium Economy cabin.

Cabin crew could use here and there a friendly word, but this is a mere suggestion, there is no professional fault on their part.

The flight delayed for 5 hours and then cancelled. While I understand this happens, it was completely unorganized. They didn't have any plans to try to get people on other flights (passengers ended up organizing this), they provided a hotel but we had to sit there for over an hour while they tried to find one, and when trying to get flights gets the next day, staff was not proactive...the only way people got rebooked was if they told them what to do.

Crew still manage to provide their excellent services instead of all of the problem related to boarding.

There's no dedicated Garuda counter for internet checked-in international passengers at Soekarno Hatta T3; you need to queue together with the other passengers. I've put a formal suggestion before to Garuda several months ago; seems nobody care. Gate information is confusing, initially shown gate number at *domestic* terminal; then changed again twice. In the end they took you on a bus-ride to domestic gate; need to climb a couple of narrow stairs (good luck for older people); the escalator next to it is set for descending only while the ground crew doing nothing. Then your plane are on the 7th queue for another 20 minutes. Food is mediocre, in flight entertainment suddenly went blank and resetting for several minutes.

At Washington Dulles airport the whole staff was really rude and unprofessional. I had only one hand carry and it was 9 kg. I requested them that I can buy a bag and can divide the stuff in two bags. But supervisor who seemed Indian was really racist and he kept insisting that we are flying in 5 minutes. Either you have to pay penalty for this hand carry or you can cancel your flight. I have never ever seen this kind of behavior from anyone specially from a supervisor. I ended up paying $300 extra for only 2 kg extra weight in my hand carry. I would recommend my whole family and friends not to choose this airline anymore.

Walking past the Turkish Airlines desk in Dulles and knowing I would NEVER have to interact with these monsters again.

I am an experienced traveler. I've been to 17 countries and have flown over a million miles in both business and coach. My wife encountered a problem in Istanbul that involved an airport transit visa through Canada. I am certain that any other airline we’ve ever flown would’ve assisted us, since it was easily resolved. To Turkish Airlines, this is simply a part of their business model and a chance to make more money. It took about 8 hours of our time at 5 different airport locations to eventually buy new tickets to get back the next day. Our original tickets say: “REISSUE With 200.00 USD penalty. What I didn’t see was the fine print at the bottom: “Turkish Airlines reserves the right to change rules regarding ticket changes and refunds.”. They mean it. As bad as our personal experience was, the real reason we are so appalled is that we were there long enough to see this is the norm for them. In our single day there, we saw at least 100 other travelers going through similar things. The ONLY solution ever offered is to purchase another ticket. We witnessed several people weeping. Many losing control and shouting. Their own personnel were screaming at customers (in a separate office area though, it was all yucks and laughing). These were people of all nationalities. Africans, Asians, Europeans. We were lucky because we had the means to purchase new tickets. Others clearly didn’t. I really don’t know what happened to some of them. One moment was very symbolic of the entire experience. Another vanquished traveler was paying $843 for a new ticket with cash. He handed her $845 but she, of course, had no change. Instead of the $5, he gave her two $1 bills. I had one in my pocket so gave it to her as well. She held my $1 bill up and pointed to the corner which had a very small piece torn off…no ink was missing…and sneered “I can’t accept this. She did this simply because she could. We were powerless. She knew it and reveled in it.

Beautiful NEW Terminal at Jakarta!, but Plenty of food outlets. Waiting areas are very large and accommodating. Security area is large and extremely efficient in processing passengers. Security personnel were friendly.

Due to the enormous inside volume it is impossible to maintain a pleasant air temperature. It's nearly impossible to hear any announcements due to the extremely poor acoustics. The large open spaces and ceramic tile floors aren't conducive to hearing anything! No announcement to the departure time as we were already 20 minutes past the established boarding time as indicated on the boarding pass. I was sitting quite close to the check-in counter and was able to decipher that the boarding process was going to happen soon, so I took a position in the line without any announcement.

Crew still manage to provide their excellent services instead of all of the problem related to boarding.

There's no dedicated Garuda counter for internet checked-in international passengers at Soekarno Hatta T3; you need to queue together with the other passengers. I've put a formal suggestion before to Garuda several months ago; seems nobody care. Gate information is confusing, initially shown gate number at *domestic* terminal; then changed again twice. In the end they took you on a bus-ride to domestic gate; need to climb a couple of narrow stairs (good luck for older people); the escalator next to it is set for descending only while the ground crew doing nothing. Then your plane are on the 7th queue for another 20 minutes. Food is mediocre, in flight entertainment suddenly went blank and resetting for several minutes.

At Washington Dulles airport the whole staff was really rude and unprofessional. I had only one hand carry and it was 9 kg. I requested them that I can buy a bag and can divide the stuff in two bags. But supervisor who seemed Indian was really racist and he kept insisting that we are flying in 5 minutes. Either you have to pay penalty for this hand carry or you can cancel your flight. I have never ever seen this kind of behavior from anyone specially from a supervisor. I ended up paying $300 extra for only 2 kg extra weight in my hand carry. I would recommend my whole family and friends not to choose this airline anymore.

The checkin process at the Lahore Airport was horrific. Probably won't fly out of there again. The queues were a joke. Most passengers were cutting queues with the help of officials they had bribed. Shockingly one airport staff member checked in five passengers in front of me who weren't even At the airport. This lot was issued boarding passes and luggage tags without a problems. An immigration officer also stamped their passports without a question. No wonder Pakistan is and will always be a third world country. Despite the excessive airline and airport staff the simple process took me over an hour. I only got my turn after arguing and pleading my case with the airline staff repeatedly. Seriously this is the worst airport to fly out off!! You have been warned. Use Lahore airport at your own risk!!
