The flight was close to on time. My suitcase was not loaded in Bangkok and was delivered 24 hours later.
I was very impressed with this airline. The flight was comfortable the plane was clean and the attendants were very nice. The zipper on my suitcase broke after I checked it. The airline wrapped it in plastic wrap, so it wouldn’t continue to fall apart. Every item I had in the suitcase was there when I got to Los Angeles. That is above and beyond!
Pros: "We had to come home 2 weeks early due to the virus, and Singapore airlines were brilliant at changing the flights. Even got upgraded to the extra leg room for free"
Cons: "The extra leg room seats were naff, I like getting comfy in a chair and these ones were not. The screen was too far away and the arm rests didn’t move. Also, due to my partner having to swap seats, I was sat on my own next to strangers. They slept the whole way, so the crew never disturbed them meaning I missed out on food and drinks, even when asked"
Pros: "The whole business class experience"
Cons: "During the same trip I discovered 2 different arrangements of the Business Class cabin on Singapore Airlines A350, SQ469 CMB-SIN, and SQ036 SIN-LAX. On the SQ469, I occupied seat 12 A (mono, aisle-window): A lot of plastic curved walls etc. For larger persons, the result is not quit comfortable."
Pros: "New aircraft"
Cons: "The willingness to provide a better quality service by the entire cabin crew and improved food quality."
Pros: "Great Premium Economy experience with comfortable seats and extremely-hospitable cabin crew!"
Cons: "Archaic In-Flight Wi-Fi Plans should be brought to modern-age plans."
Pros: "The cabin crew and the pilots. The flight went smoothly."
Cons: "Singapore Airlines should inform clearly of the mileage policy and the lounge access while using a code-share flight. I thought I booked as a code-shared Singapore Airline flight, but I got rejected from the lounge access."
Pros: "Crew was very helpful and courteous Entertainment system was pretty good Food was good. They could have given water bottles instead of asking for water."
Cons: "Seat comfort in Economy was just ok. Since this was a long haul flight, seats could have been better."
Pros: "the boarding, the attention to detail exactly how i remembered Singapore Airlines from many times i travelled."
Cons: "The food was disgraceful, the entertainment, the quality of the movies was poor.."
Pros: "The cabin crew were fantastic. Food was abundant. Most boarding systems worked well. Choosing seats was confusing on website so we were allocated seating. The newer planes had a fantastic touch screen entertainment system. The seats on the newer planes were much more comfortable and roomy"
Cons: "The small seats are squishy on the older planes. The entertainment system on the older planes were dated and difficult to use. I felt sick after the flight to UK but felt fine coming home after one long flight on a newer plane."
The crew attended to my needs and the foods served are delivious.
Compared to Eva Air and JAL Asiana food is pretty mediocre. Snacks between meals are almost nonexistent. Wish they had cups of noodles or some mixed nuts.
Pros: "Absolute epic flight in the midst of the COVID-19 crisis. Thank you all the crews. You’ve done amazing job!"
Pros: "Boarding was handled very well. I find the crew incredible; they were very attentive and very helpful. They certainly looked after the passengers."
Cons: "They went out their way; I can't see how things could have been better."
Pros: "Check in procedure in Los Angeles can’t get any worse"
Cons: "If check in crew knows what to do, as simple as that."
Pros: "The seat was so hard for a really long flight"
Pros: "Food choices were great, Crew were friendly, fast and efficient, Toilets were kept clean, organized and stocked the whole time."
Cons: "More choices for movies, and i wish subtitles in English would be made available even when watching the movie in English."
Pros: "FOOD WAS GREAT"
Cons: "BOARDING WAS BETTER THAN MANILA BUT STILL NOT GREAT - NEEDS MORE COMMUNICATION"
Pros: "The price. Significantly cheaper than our normal ride on EVA through Taipei. Having said that...won't do it again."
Cons: "We travel between the US and Asia a couple of times a year and normally fly on EVA, who has wonderful service and great food. We took Asiana this time because the ticket price was significantly less than EVA. Below are the reasons we won't do it again. 1. The food was awful. My wife had the Asian dishes and I had the Western dishes. Both were well below the quality of food we're used to on EVA. 2. Transit in Seoul. On the way to Bangkok from LA we had 50 minutes to transit Seoul to our next flight. The transit security line was quite long and it was obvious that we, along with a few dozen other passengers, weren't going to be able to make the connection. After much complaining from us and our fellow passengers they ran us through another security line. Rushed to the airplane and made it. On returning to LA from Bangkok it was exactly the opposite. The only option was nearly 8 hours connection in Seoul. But we had plenty of time to negotiate the transit security line. These connect times did not occur because of a last-minute ticket purchase. I purchased these tickets in July for a December/January flight to Bangkok and return. 3. Inflight service was not at the level of EVA. Like any other Asian carrier, the flight attendants were light years ahead of ANY US airline crew, but below the standard of EVA. Waking you up to eat a meal (I typically don't eat dinner at 1AM), etc. I was sleeping with my seat reclined and the flight attendant took it upon herself to upright my seat at meal time and woke me up, presumably so the person in the seat behind me was more comfortable with space to eat their meal, but hey...I purchased the seat to sleep just like the other passenger purchased the seat to eat, so I think I had just as much right to "my space and comfort" as the other passenger did. Just little stuff that doesn't happen on EVA. 4. Inflight entertainment is lacking as compared to EVA. Few movie and TV choices, few game choices. 5. We sat in economy. The seats were not very comfortable. Seems the cushions were thin and it became like sitting on plywood after a while. Legroom on the 747 flight wasn't so great, but there was plenty of legroom on the A380. The A380 seating was still kinda hard, but the legroom sure helped. 6. Boarding process. Poorly organized. Nobody pays a bit of attention to "boarding by row number". Consequently it's a bit of chaos during boarding. The old saying, "you get what you pay for" is true. For a flight of that length I won't choose to save the $200 or so per ticket and will ride on EVA. We've proven to ourselves that EVA is just pretty hard to beat."
Pros: "Boarded plane, woke up to watch one movie the arrive in Seoul. Plane was clean on time no hassles"
Upgraded to a business class by an auction and it was the cheapest bid.
I liked it being a direct flight…improve on food presentation, taste and how they serve their clients.airfare is expensive-clients deserves good service…the crew particulary on this flight is too noisy-the crew talks a lot. With me drifting on and off to sleep thinking it was my fellow passengers making “talk noises”. But when I decided to checks who were making this noises it was the flight crew chit chatting behind the curtain. And I am flying business class-flying out of manila at 10 pm. I need peace and quiet, and I did not get it .
Cons: "First time traveling via Philippines airlines, was hoping for a good direct flight, was just very disappointed. Not much variety in food, no really onboard vegetarian or seafood options. Comfort wise economy seat are bit tighter compared to other international airlines. Crew was very helpful, did their best to accommodate to what they had to work with, their crew truly saves their short-givings."
Pros: "Crew was great. Food was excellent."
Cons: "Boarding process. Everyone rushed in when the gate was opened. No sequential boarding."
Cons: "Install IFE, organize the boarding process. Blankets on given on request"
Pros: "Crew was great Seat could be better, recline and full bed hard to operate"
Cons: "Seat adjust buttons difficult to use"
Pros: "Despite a shortage of Flight Attendants on the Flight the ones that were working did an AWESOME Job serving the Passengers ."
Cons: "For the sake of the Flight Attendants more Of them to help."
Pros: "Horrible airline."
Cons: "tiny seats for tiny people, crappy food, cold in the jet, Really a low class airline."
Pros: "Business class from Bangkok to San Francisco was good overall, especially for $1400 one way. Food was not very good for business class, was more in line with JAL, EVA, Korean or ANA econo class but again, for the price, no complaints. Great friendly service, quick boarding. Priority Pass didn't have a lounge in Manila but thankfully, Philippines Air had their own lounge with great food and drinks for 1st Class and Business class ticket holders. Plane from BKK to Manila was NICE and comfy, all latest technology with beautiful fully adjustable chairs that lay flat. Would fly with them again!"
Pros: "I was in a window seat for this flight with no one in between me and the man in the aisle. It was nice to have some space to spread out in."
Cons: "I am about 6 feet tall and the leg room was terrible. I was thankful that the person in front of me did not recline, other side their head would have been in my face."
You get what you pay for. It’s functional and gets you from point A to B in good comfort. However, food options are limited and cash only, Crew is a hit and miss .. they get your attention if you reach out.
Good leg room ... air conditioning was a bit warm don't Book row 8 ... no windows
They got to the terminal late, with no one on the arriving flight, boarded us late, and left us sitting there for 2 hours before they got us off the ground. They knew they were going to be late, yet they never got an updated flight plan from their head office until long after the flight was supposed to leave. They could have cut the delay in half, of at least let us stay in the terminal. Really just horrible planning.
The worst kind of budget airline. To be honest....the plane was not that bad. Would have been good to have some food choices and some water. What was by far the worse is the passengers/customers that this airline attracts. Coughing and spluttering all over one another with no masks. Just disgusting. Pay for a better carrier and get a better class of passenger.
Pros: "A nice experience overall. Flight was quiet so plenty of personal space."
Pros: "Everything went smoothly from check in to arrival. Bags were delivered timely. Flights were on time."
Cons: "No entertainment options. Little to no food service."
Pros: "The crew are ok. They should find jobs with other, better airlines."
Cons: "Flight delayed on both legs. Delay management horrible, call centre was worse."
Pros: "Average flight"
Cons: "Changed the time of my flight early by more than 2 hours, with no communication. I therefore missed the flight. I was informed there was a flight that evening but they refused to move me as I had booked through an agent. Waited more than 6 hoursnin the airport for next flight and was offered only a meal voucher worth £4. Later flight was delayed, resulting in me missing my friends pre wedding henna party and arriving more than 8 hours late. Not a single apology given!"
Pros: "Except for a 1-hour delay, overall the flight was good, smooth and enjoyable. Loved the inflight meal. For the price we paid we got meal and 30kg baggage allowance, we thought that was just value for money. And they departed from KLIA and not klia2 which is more convenient."
Cons: "Flight wasn't on time to and from HKG."
Pros: "The staff were very kind, the seat had a great amount of leg room."
Cons: "There was no alcohol on the flight."
TVs didn’t work, air conditioning didn’t work, flight crew came by one and that was it
It was delayed and no.entertainment unit. Lion group air is giant company with poor record of service.
Boarding was generally quick, staff were friendly and did assist people when needed. The plane wasn't cleaned well with remnants of the last passengers. Tray tables were falling down and back of seats falling apart. The AC was turned up too high and we were all freezing, i was actually shaking uncontrollably until the heating was put back on. No entertainment at all which is hard when travelling with children. Minimal food choices and cash only option. I know its a budget airline but some minor improvements could make a good difference.
Pros: "Resorted to Malindo/Batik just to get home after Mt Agung eruptions - so points for at least flying. Very good seat pitch in economy, let down by an uncomfortable back with no head rest."
Cons: "The food was utterly appalling, providing a new level of disappointment. I'm convinced my tray table would have been easier to chew than the three dehydrated lumps of so-called chicken thrown on top of land overcooked rice, together with something that was allegedly once an egg - which I couldn't even stomach."
Pros: "Modern plane, good price, friendly staff"
Cons: "Plane landed very hard and felt like pilot was struggling for control (or still learning). Luggage took long time to come out and after abot 10 min of luggage just stopped and we found out that rest of our luggage was coming out of another carousel. Nobody told us, we had to find out ourselves when we couldn't find our luggage. Communication is important"
