Cons: "Luggage check-in weighs luggage 22 kilos more than its actual weight and I was asked to pay almost RM650 ~ ($170), when I was asked to recheck they had to pull my luggage back and that took almost 40 minutes to later know that they made a huge mistake! 20 minutes to the boarding time I got confirmation that my luggage weights are correct and given a boarding pass to gate P11. walked to gate P11 and saw no one there, and there were no signs of what was happening, I checked Kayak app then I noticed that they changed the gate to L10 which is a totally different building ( 16 minutes before gate closure ), I had to run the whole airport to go to gate L10. not to mention that flight was delayed by a good 1 hour!"

If AsiAsia are going to keep to this 7kg hardline they really need to do it across all airports and do it during the document check so the number of queues costumers are subjected to are minimized. I did purchase extra weight when purchasing the ticket however that weight MUST be in checked bags only. No margin here for discussion. Perhaps HotSeat passengers are less scrutinized??? This all may be just some transitional pains here and other airlines may follow the same model but in my 200+ flights on Nok Air this has NEVER happened. In fact, they (Nok) have NEVER weighed my carry on bag. Such a shame as the rest of the flight experience was above average. This hardline approach will be an issue if they continue until they beat their customers into taking or leaving it in my opinion. First AirAsia flight for me so the vets reading this will be smiling quietly to themselves ;-)"

The airline makes you pay for water, which is simply inhuman - at least cattle in transport are given free water from time to time. It was a five-hour flight at night but we couldn't put the seats back to relax - the exit row was behind us and they've got the seats crammed in so tight together that they don't give the exit row any extra room to accommodate this, like most airlines. There are ads plastered all over the storage compartments. Recorded announcements threatened us with dire consequences if we stole the life vests (is that a thing people do?!). Everything looks cruddy, dingy and old. It feels like a cheap city bus, but in the air. At the end of the flight the crew walked through fumigating the cabin with spray cans of who-the-hell-knows-what and we had to breathe THAT in. We won't even consider Air Asia again unless there are literally no other possible choices. Just awful."

We were told to check in online and add baggage at least two days before flying to avoid excessive baggage fees. So we paid them the first time, no problem. But AirAsias website is clearly coded by bricks with fingers. Because 6,5,4, and 3 days prior, it says such service is unavailable. Okay, we’ll do it at the airport then, it’ll be nice and easy just like at Changi. Only at this crappy subpar excuse for an airport, they live by no rules and want to charge $300USD - more than double what was charged at Changi - for two 20kg bags. 20kg, which my boarding pass and my booking both say we are entitled to, is suddenly 5kg in excess, so they want to screw your American wallet hard, long, and good because even if you had a good time, chances are you will never pass through the half baked gas station that is Langkawi again. Oh yeah and don’t bother paying for the WiFi - they get you good there too - 10mb which is basically a couple jpegs but you won’t get squat anyway. Literally nothing, and then suddenly your puny 10mb has disappeared, along with your money and what’s left of AirAsias credibility."

I didn't eat as flights were short... no entertainment although they do have Rokki wifi to watch stuff on phones and tablets... I didn't bother though. Boarding was slick... time lost due to late departure was largely recovered in flight... Aircraft was clean and comfortable. Will definitely use as my airline of choice when travelling in the area..."

Whilst on board, pre-ordered food was not served with cutlery and it took another 15 mins to get the attn of the stewardess to get the cutlery served. Would have been faster to just get it myself."

Just sit, shut up and wait until they think the time is right to start boarding, usually an hour after scheduled department time (at least on this trip in both directions). Your ground staff is a total disaster, no matter how much your flight attendants will smile during the flight, they can't compensate for your pre-boarding mess."

Pros: "Seat upgrade on the same sector is cheap at $32 compared to $60 for scoot."
Cons: "Assigned seat 30A... This row shouldn't exist at all, though seatguru states that seat pitch is consistent at 29inch, it doesn't feel like that at all. When the seat infront reclined, it hit my knee... And i'm not tall just 1.7m. Then row 30 seats doesn't recline, the recline function is there but almost immediately you hit the bulkhead... Lastly, there was this male stewardess who is plain rude, i would be angry if he was a street hawker, let alone a flight attendant. He shouts at passengers to stop eating (some bread which they packed), it wasn't directed at me so i didn't quite bother. But a while after i upgraded to row 13 (exit row) and was snoozing, he came over, grabbed and tucked my arm and asked me the girl seated next to me to go back to our seats... When i asked "what do you mean go back to our seats? We paid for the upgrade." He walked away. The only saving grace is he came back 5-10mins later to apologise saying he didn't know we paid for the upgrade."

People were not given enough time to qeue in so that it actually didn’t matter where you sit coz it only caused chaos. The seats in the plane were ripped and would definitely require some maintanance. It was a late flight and the cabine crew seemed to have enough for that date so that the only smile you could get was when saying goodbye. However, they did the job in a proffessional manner."

Cons: "We bought JetAir tickets because they were cheap. Thought we could get by with carry-on. But carry-on is only 7Kg, and that's like 15 lbs. Had to pay for check in the baggages and the extra weight came out to $65 to $80 extra per bag. When you add that back into the price of the ticket, then the ticket is comparable to a premium ticket. Plus, the service is so bad and they lost our luggage and gave us the runaround. Next time, we'll just pay the premium ticket with another airline and get better service and no run-arounds. So, the only cheap thing about this airline is the service. They nickle and dime you for everything, so you end up paying more and getting less. I've learned my lesson. Beware."

You won’t get any legroom and you’ll be nickel and dimes at every turn, but if you go into the experience with that understanding, you’ll have a reasonably comfortable, on-time flight without paying a lot of money."

At the airport, Jetstar wanted to charge me 1200$ usd for my luggages on a little 2h fligh. I had no choice but to agree on that and when i ask to pay, they asked me to wait for the credit card machine. We waited at least an hour and then they told us they only accept cash! 5 min to boarding and we had to left the luggages behind. I had to call hotel to get luggages back and ship them to us at cost of 1900$ usd. Once onboard, they only accept credit cards for purchases, what the hell is that! the worst airline ever! To top the story, they never sent the baby car seat as it was supposed to be included, it just disapeared! Hell to Jetstar!"

Pros: "I learned what a low cost airline is. I traveled no problem in Eva air from Seoul to Taipei with 1 check in bag at 20kg and two carry on bags 10kg and 5kg. To my surprise Jetstar Asia requires you to purchase your check in separately from your ticket. Furthermore you can only carry on 7kg. I ended up having to pay 1400 TSD to check at 15kg. Then 600 TSD per kg after that because I had to check in two bags or I was over the 7kg allotted carry on. I ended up paying an extra $286 for bags. I will never ever ever purchase another ticket from this airlIne ever again."

The guy was shorter than me but felt the need to slide down in his seat to prod me in the back. Being a budget airline, many of the other passengers are families looking for a deal. Many of these families are burnt out and don't bother trying to rein in their toddlers at all anymore."

The old woman next to started picking the skin on her feet an hour into the flight- although that is probably more a review of China than Jetstar. With Jetstar, I am just waiting for what BS will happen, so generally avoid them if at all possible- whether it is your bag being 1kg overweight, or they inform you your flight was delayed- when it wasn't causing missed flight, as happened recently- of course they have good customer service though- not- you will be lucky to even get a reply, and that is if you manage to email them because they keep their customer service email a secret....What a joke of an airline."
