Although small, the room was comfortable and the shower quite lovely. Plenty of hot water in the morning. A blizzard was expected so I decided to check out a day early, and this was hassle free. I did not ask for the name of the person who helped me with the checkout, but she was very polite and extremely helpful. The door man and valet folks were quick to bring my car and wish me a safe journey. Overall a very pleasant stay and I was able to accomplish that which I was in town for. I found sleep very difficult due to the noise level throughout the first night of my stay, which was a Tuesday. Many drunk people coming to rooms late very loud in the hallway and then one couple in the room next to mine arguing until approximately 4am.
When we arrived the hotel was sold out and did not go or our "guaranteed reservation" for a double room. We were instead offered a full size bed and a cot for the same rate even though the room sells for $50 less. Spent most of our night on the phone with Kayak who didn't care. Says it's non refundable yet how they can say it's a guaranteed reservation when clearly it's a maybe! Horrible customer service by hotel manager and kayak. Hotel didn't offer to call around or find other accommodations for us.
The room was a bit smaller than expected
The room was tiny, just enough room for a bed. No closet and tiny bathroom. The room was only a foot wider than the bed was long. Would never stay here again.
Gym - small
The hotel looked nicer online to be honest. The staff were pretty great. House keeping was really good with fixing the room after i called about the bed being dirty. They left a nice note and some snacks/drinks as well. The TV was really nice. Our room was not very well kept. It was dusty, the bed hadn't been changed I believe, the sheets and pillow case was dirty and hairy, and the bathroom smelled like ciggaretes and was kind of dirty. the room was better than a motel so it wasn't the worst, just a little too pricey for the kind of quality you end up getting.
We had a room overlooking Public Garden and it was great. Nice view during the day and at night. Hotel is on Newbury Street and close to nice shopping, good restaurants, Beacon Hill - lots to do. Afternoon Tea is wonderful. We had a suite and they charged us $25 for rollaway bed for our daughter - tacky.
Location was prime. Accommodations were underwhelming for the high price. Also attempted to contact the Concierge 3 times to arrange a special birthday flower arrangement for my wife. They never called me back. THREE TIMES.
The location was superb. The hotel is within walking distance of most attractions, shops, and metro. Chinatown is only one block away, with many delicious food choices. The pool could be cleaner. They should provide locks for the lockers.
Room was large. Coffee maker, ironing board and safe in the rooon. Insufficient soundproofing. Avoid avoid avoid 6th floor: that's where the pool is and kids are very loud when walking and running along the corridor. We couldn't check in at 3:30pm and the room was not ready until 4:30pm, half hour past the check in time of 4pm.
Walking distance to all central Boston. Fantastic location Shower is a glass box dividing the bed room and bathroom. Perfectly ok if you're into that sort of thing
Nice doormen Cramped rooms that were not sound proof. No character to the rooms
Step out front door and you are on the freedom trail and ready to go Location
Appreciated the glass of wine at check-in and the staff were polite. "Upgraded" room was very tiny and the bathroom shower had mildew and stains. The bed was comfortable until I woke up with a bite mark on my leg and wrist. This place is overpriced and feels like it hasn't been maintained like other hotels. Won't stay here again.
The staff is so engaging and professional but not stuffy or uptight. The food at Moo (hotel restaurant) is unbeatable. You just can't beat the hotel vibe if you like personal service. I prefer more light than dark walls.
The location is perfect for a downtown stay and, while small, the rooms are nicely designed. Poor air conditioning. No bath in the room.
Beds, personal treatment of the staff No
Rooms are classic ritz-carlton comfort and luxury. They forgot to make a dinner reservation I requested at booking and never did anything about it.
Great location across from Faneuil Hall, just a couple of blocks from the water front, the North End and a T stop. I like the excellent morning coffee available for free in the lobby. The Keurig machine and K-cups in the room. The free daily newspapers in the lobby from four major newspapers. I liked the free late afternoon leomanade in the lobby. The restaurant has some excellent deals buck a shuck oysters from 4:30-:6:30 everyday. The $20 New England Lobster Meal that included; Corn on the cob, seafood chowder, a lobster and more. The restaurant had el fresco dining as well as a wall of windows on North Street right across from Faneuil Hall. The lobby was beautiful and very inviting. They even had a game section on the bookshelves for kids and families. The portico was very unique and mostly sheltered. The staff was very polite and helpful. The view from the rooms with the little balconies was a beautiful touch. The wall of windows in your room was wonderful. The late check out noon, the fact that they would store your bags in a locked room with a video monitor and would tagbyour bags they were holding like you were boarding a plane. Just a couple small things would be nice: more towel racks to hang towels in the bathroom and a refrigerator other than a completely full mini bar refrigerator with items for sale.
The hotel is very clean and the staff was really nice and helpful There was only Luke warm water in the shower and after walking around boston on a 10 degree night it really put a damper on our romantic get away !!
Unbelievable service and great amenities where the Kmart features. Three separate bars including a rooftop for adults but also had areas for kids including and/or tomorrow. The concierge John was so helpful and professional. The hotel is centrally located near the Boston Commons in the theater district so it makes it very easy to see all of his stork Boston sites.
Nice lobby, but this hotel needs a major amount of work! Problems: 1) TVs are analog, which means there is no resolution at all. Very blurry. Like 1998 TVs. Shocking at a so-called 4-star hotel. 2) Air conditioners that are so loud it sounded like we had a 747 revving outside our room. We couldn't adjust the AC except to two temperatures: 68 and 74. 3) No mirror in the room. 4) No refrigerator or mini-bar in the room. 5) No blow dryer. 6) Waited 15 minutes for an elevator, then couldn't get on it was so crowded. 7) Rude, arrogant staff except for Serena, and the day GM, who tried to help but wasn't around to do much until it was too late. Don't stay here. There is so much better around!
Staff very helpful. The price of brunch.
Staff was very friendly and enthusiastic Dated & Tired, especially considering the price tag
Clean, comfortable and in a great location Lobby extremely loud
Brand new hotel Staff are not up to the W standard
