It’s a no-frills, budget airline. As such airlines go, this one is better than most. You won’t get any legroom and you’ll be nickel and dimes at every turn, but if you go into the experience with that understanding, you’ll have a reasonably comfortable, on-time flight without paying a lot of money.

There was nothing I didn’t like that I felt would have been better on a different budget airline. If you don’t like non-existent legroom and the lack of free frills, you shouldn’t be flying this airline.

Undermanned check-in staff, unorganized boarding, narrow seats, no entertainment, absolutely no complimentary food nor beverages (not even some water to compensate for air conditioning). All this in an international 6-hour flight. Yes, it’s low-cost. Still, it’s up to us, customers, to decide what’s acceptable and make companies adapt.

Outrageous baggage fees. I paid over $200 USD for 2 bags. This was so much more than the actual flight itself. I was never told how crappy Jetstar's baggage policy was and I will never fly them again. In fact, it makes me bitter with Kayak even though it doesn't necessarily reflect on you. You should never recommend this airline EVER AGAIN!!

Overall not bad the flight left on time and was a good flight.

Please be forewarned, pay for your bags ahead of time if you can figure out how. We had a short flight from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur and had not paid for our bags. It ended up costing us more for two bags than the flight for the both of us. For that reason alone I would probably not fly with them again unless it was the only option.

The food is shockingly decent. Yeah you have to pay cash and it’s not convenient, but the food is edible and there is lots of variety.

AirAsia sucks balls. Or at least, it was fine leaving Singapore, but returning from a crappy small town airport to it was a fraudulent nightmare. We were told to check in online and add baggage at least two days before flying to avoid excessive baggage fees. So we paid them the first time, no problem. But AirAsias website is clearly coded by bricks with fingers. Because 6,5,4, and 3 days prior, it says such service is unavailable. Okay, we’ll do it at the airport then, it’ll be nice and easy just like at Changi. Only at this crappy subpar excuse for an airport, they live by no rules and want to charge $300USD - more than double what was charged at Changi - for two 20kg bags. 20kg, which my boarding pass and my booking both say we are entitled to, is suddenly 5kg in excess, so they want to screw your American wallet hard, long, and good because even if you had a good time, chances are you will never pass through the half baked gas station that is Langkawi again. Oh yeah and don’t bother paying for the WiFi - they get you good there too - 10mb which is basically a couple jpegs but you won’t get squat anyway. Literally nothing, and then suddenly your puny 10mb has disappeared, along with your money and what’s left of AirAsias credibility.

I get the seat selection pre-check in is a premium service. Bu to not allow someone to express preference (based on what's left) when they check in is downright snarky. The explanation that I got that "we need to balance the plane" is whitewash. It's clearly to push peopel to buying the premium service. But when you do that at the price of alienating people, you've done them and yourself a disservice. Time to rethink!

Cancelled onward flight without passengers knowing untill last moment , rebooked early morning flight thus my arrival in uk was 2-3 hrs ahead so I had to pay for cab instead of wife pickup , also rebooked me same window seat but without no window !!stuck me near emergency exit even though I am elite gold frequent flyer very cramped !!finally on arrival London 24-12-15 they lost my priority luggage or was still in KL was tobe received on later in afternoon but never received my baggage till midday 25-12-15 so my morning Xmas was foregone conclusion all thanks to : singapore airlines , too overrated !!

In the US most recognize Southwest Airlines as an efficient low-cost carrier. AirAsia is all that with nice aircraft AND comfortable assigned seats.

If your going to check a bag you can do it easily at the airport and you will pay per pound/kilo. If you know the approximate weight you can do it in advance on-line and save time. Example: 40 kilos /80 lbs was $40 usd.

Scoot Business is excellent value for money. 35 seats at the front of a Dreamliner with comfortable seats and some recline. The flight took off on time and landed in Sydney on time. I will go again.

- My attempt to upgrade my seat online resulted in my existing paid ticket being put on hold 'Pending Payment' which took nearly an hour to sort out. - Gate was change at the last minute from 5 to 2 sending everyone scrambling. - Once on the plane I was never offered water, coffee or a drink despite being seated in an upgraded seat in the front row. Passenger beside me was showered with attention though...i was essentially ignored. - Plane was nearly an hour late departing resulting in even further delays into Singapore circling waiting to get in the landing Q.

There was one local manager who smiled a lot and tried to promise things that it turned out he wasn't allowed to promise while his airline was screwing me.

International travelers, check and recheck your flight. Firefly canceled my flight "several weeks ago", according to them, didn't notify me by phone or email despite the fact that they admitted they had both on file, didn't refund the money to my credit card until the day before departure so i had no idea of the change, and then provided no help whatsoever when i arrived at the airport and the flight didn't exist anymore.

Their website didn't work when I tried to pay in advance for the baggage and seat assignment. I tried more than 20 times, from two devices, two browsers from my laptop, with two different credit cards, wasting huge amounts of time. Then they had the nerve to still charge the offline service charge for paying at the airport despite my clear description of all the time and effort I had spent on their miserable website. And they only accepted cash which required an extra ATM trip.

Everything was smooth and easy. Check-in line was short, the whole airport experience was quick and easy. Flight was smooth, comfortable, staff was so friendly. When I checked in for my flight in Penang, the girl who helped me, Kay, was the most friendly help I've ever had.. She offered me a great seat and was patient and friendly when I requested to be moved around. She made conversation while we waited for the system to finish, and had a huge smile the whole time. She set the time for the whole airport and flight experience, and had me smiling the rest of the day. If there's a way to tell her bosses - she is a gem, hang on to her! I'm looking forward to my next trip on firefly!

Boarding was delayed a bit, but flight took off within a few minutes of schedule, so no real problem!

The staff has no personality and no working knowledge of how customer service is supposed to be. I booked this as Malaysia Airlines and even though it's operated by Firefly, it should've recognized my priority status with OneWorld.

Their website didn't work when I tried to pay in advance for the baggage and seat assignment. I tried more than 20 times, from two devices, two browsers from my laptop, with two different credit cards, wasting huge amounts of time. Then they had the nerve to still charge the offline service charge for paying at the airport despite my clear description of all the time and effort I had spent on their miserable website. And they only accepted cash which required an extra ATM trip.

I had to change the date of my flight. Your change fee was more than a new ticket on your airline or 3 of your competitors. Your agent could not apply any of my ticket to the new flights, so I chose another airline. Will not book jetstar again. I lost everything I paid.

It’s a no-frills, budget airline. As such airlines go, this one is better than most. You won’t get any legroom and you’ll be nickel and dimes at every turn, but if you go into the experience with that understanding, you’ll have a reasonably comfortable, on-time flight without paying a lot of money.

There was nothing I didn’t like that I felt would have been better on a different budget airline. If you don’t like non-existent legroom and the lack of free frills, you shouldn’t be flying this airline.
