  • The cheapest flight from Kuala Lumpur to Madrid was found, on average, 89 days before departure.
  • Book at least 4 weeks before departure in order to get a below-average price.
  • High season is considered to be June, July and August. The cheapest month to fly is April.

  • There are currently no direct flights between Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KUL) and Madrid Airport (MAD), but there are flights with one stop. Qatar Airways offers a flight that stops over in Doha, while Emirates offers an alternative that stops in Dubai.
  • Kuala Lumpur International Airport has two terminals that are in use, but the majority of national and international flights come in and out of the main terminal, which is known as KLIA, in the main building. We suggest that you take care when booking your flights to check your terminal, because there is another terminal called KLIA 2, which is about 1 km from terminal one. Flights that leave and arrive at KLIA 2 are normally from the lower cost airlines that operate in southeast Asia.
  • There are quite a few options to consider when travelling from Madrid-Barajas Airport to the city centre. The faster way to travel is probably on the metro, while a slower one is the bus. Taxis are convenient, and there are plenty of taxi ranks outside the airport, but it is the more expensive option available. Taking the train can vary in price, but it is generally cheap and relatively fast.

Pros: "Amenities - ear plugs and basic things are good. Dint see this in other flights till now in economy. Good movies collection."
Cons: "Attendants were negligent. Asked for water many times, but didn't get any response. They were busy chit chatting. Internet - only 20 mb , that too for 2 hours continuous. Food was not that good. And only 2 meals for 14 hr flight!!"
Pros: "Good leg room and good service. Food decent and 380 has very good stable flight even with occcasional turbulence"
Cons: "Cannot think of anything I dint like"

Pros: "Love the outfits the flight attendants wear Love the attention they give to all ...and basically everything else was above GOOD"
Cons: "The only thing I didn't like was a crabby lady sitting behind me on my way to Dubai the end of October who objected to me reclining my seat ..meanwhile, she had hers reclined! But I didn't consider it important enough to complain."
Pros: "Awesome plane, lovely cabin crew, overall went above and beyond to make it as best a flight they could for us! I will definitely fly (and prioritise) emirates as a preferred airline from now on."
Pros: "Everything..."
Cons: "There wasn’t any entertainment on this flight though which made the time a little difficult to pass..."
Pros: "Mango juice was good. Food was good. Crew was friendly and fast."
Cons: "More leg room please. Better entertainment. More reclining of seats required. Softer seats."
Pros: "in the AUH-MAD leg, i thought the headrests were great—perfect for sleeping"
Cons: "in the MNL-AUH leg, the touchscreen entertainment system didn’t always work"
Pros: "Seats are not too tight. Professional crew. Ventilation and overall aircraft comfort was good."
Cons: "Food can be better."
Cons: "They upgraded me to business since I am gold member"
Pros: "I am amazed of how good is the crew and how nice they are. Also, like the seats and the food/drinks compare to American companies. You will never feel hungry on this airline."
Cons: "Nothing"
Cons: "Flight was hot ac not working enough food was horrible."
Pros: "Flight was punctual. A380 is a nice plane to fly on, but see other comments. Entertainment choices are good, but see other comments."
Cons: "On arrival at Sydney, discovered my bag damaged. The metal cage that holds the handle slider had been broken so they must have really thumped the bag. Re windows and cabin lighting. Flight left Abu Dhabi at 21:50, landed Sydney at 17:50 next day. The cabin was kept in darkness until 3pm Sydney time / 9am Abu Dhabi time. This only gave us 2 hours of daylight on Tuesday, terrible in trying to adjust to a new timezone!! Even going off Abu Dhabi time, why wait till 9am to turn on the lights and raise the windows? No-one sleeps that long and it creates too much darkness. Please turn on the lights and raise window shades a few hours earlier to help our body clocks adjust. The view of the world outside the window is also interesting! Re entertainment system: with some airlines you can use the entertainment system immediately on embarking but with Etihad you have to wait till airborne. Considering boarding begins an hour before departure, that is a long time to sit waiting without being able to use the entertainment system. Re comfort: I don't know why, but the Etihad A380 seats have this weird head rest on one side that can't be folded flat. I found it quite annoying. Also when you recline the seat, it also goes forward scrunching you towards the seat in front. I found the Emirates A380 seat a lot roomier and more comfortable."
Pros: "The movie selection was decent"
Cons: "They failed to informed me that passangers have to report to the gate one full hour before direct flights to the US from Abu-Dhabi in order to clear US customs and border security which happens there prior to your flight (which is the only place in the world that this happens.) I arrived at the Airport 2.5 hours before my flight and reported to my gate 45 minutes before my flight and was not allowed through. They then were extremely rude to me when I was in the process of finding a new connection and made me buy a brand new ticket for the following morning as the penalties for rescheduling would cost more than buying a new ticket which was 1200 USD!! They insisted that this warning was on their web site and would have been on my ticket had I got it from their website. Since I purchased my ticket from Kayak.com, that was my own problem. They then showed me a warning label on the baggage claim slip that they gave me at check in but this was only in Arabic with NO ENGLISH translation provided. More importantly the representative who checked me in to my flight never told me about needing to be at the gate 1 hr before the flight. Throughout this whole process they were unapologetic, unsympathetic and rude. I met two other people that same day who had the same problem one of these passangers arrived at the gate 1.5 hrs before her flight and still could not get to her flight in time because of the inefficient customs and immigration process that the Emarati's have in place in an attempt to mimic our process in the US. This is a very bad policy which only Etihad does. If you fly through Dubai with Emirates they do not require this nonsense. The Etihad staff were rude, unhelpful, unapologetic and inefficient. Never fly from Abu-Dhabi to the US with Etihad. On the flight, as the plane came to a stop at the end of the runway but still needed to taxi in to the gate, people started getting up. Instead of calmly explaining to people what was going on, one of the stewardesses waved it off and said well when we start moving again or if something happened they will just DIE then! This was not the only occasion I was disgusted by the staff. I woke up on the flight and couldn't find my glasses and the response of one of the stewardesses was "can you ask someone else to help you, I am on my way to take a nap and if I stop to help you I want get my full rest." This airline is one of the worst in the world if not the worst. I will never fly with them again and I am considering sending these stories to a NEWS network to raise awareness on this issue. Their staff don't care. They seem to be overworked and burned out. They only get one day off when flying to New York and back when by law they are required two. This shows that they are abusive to their staff which then leads their staff to have have horrible customer service."
Pros: "Friendly staff, nice food and had a great time on the flight"
Pros: "The new Boeing airplane. Business class is truly business class."
Pros: "The crew were extremely helpful and they did there best to keep us comfortable"
Cons: "The boarding process is a mess"
Pros: "Smooth trip"
Cons: "The electricity plug was not working so I couldn’t charge my mobile although it is a new plane and the hostess tried his best but no luck"
Pros: "Helpful crew and flight was comfortable overall"
Cons: "food quality used to be better. Need to keep the quality up"
Pros: "The coffee was excellent and the crew was very professional."
Cons: "The boarding was unorganized, the seat was uncomfortable, the flight was delayed 3 times and we almost missed our connecting flight, the luggage did not make it to my destination until hours later."
Cons: "The crew was not helpful. We kept asking for many things but they don’t bring them from the first time. They gave me food as normal and when I opened it they brought my requested special food which should be given to me earlier."
Pros: "Ok food, great service by attendants, great entertainment selections. Also recommend giving a meal schedule to passengers to time their rest more knowledgeably."
Cons: "Drinking Water more easily available for passengers k thru flights. Also work with airports like Riyadh to offer truly free WiFi, not one requiring a SIM card in country. Most international travelers are unable to use the WiFi because of this asinine setup."
Pros: "Take off was on time. Crew was very professional. Food was good."
Cons: "Entertainment needs to be more updated and diversified. Movies are old."
Pros: "Crew responsiveness"
Cons: "Bag drop off took alot of time & surprisingly the line in sky priority was much slower than the regular check-in line. Delay by 30 mins in departure even though i boarded 30mins before scheduled departure time"
Pros: "Nothing"
Cons: "Food, airplane age, they boarded us and then kept us inside airplane for 45 mins because of bad weather at destination airport. They should confirm flight info before boarding."
Cons: "Business class in 737 is limited, recline only but seat was spacious and comfortable"
Pros: "Boarding was easy even though it started late, it was organized. Once I got on the plane I wasn't waiting a long time to get to my seat because they seated the people sitting in the back of the plane first. There is a huge selection of movies, tv shows, and music."
Cons: "They have 2 food options and they're just ok. There wasn't very many drink options either."
Pros: "Seats were comfortable"
Cons: "The crew was not friendly, and the food selection is limited"
Cons: "Answers together with Perth to KL. I understand from other flight individuals that MAL. Flights are always delayed."
Pros: "We paid for extra luggage for check in but we were allowed to carry them on board due to the short stopover duration of the connecting flight. Thanks for the much needed flexibility!"
Pros: "Brand new A350!"
Cons: "Hmm, nothing really. Lucky I was not in a hurry.."
Pros: "I was surprised to board an A380 to fly from KUL to BKK"
Cons: "In Bangkok we had to get off on the field to board a bus"
Pros: "Food was good and staff was always with a smile in their face"
Cons: "Super crowded and not much room in between rows, I aspected a bit larger and more comfortable plane for an international flight"
Pros: "Can’t find anything good."
Cons: "The airline is protected by the government. Hence there is no motivation for them to improve. This airline is my last choice. My biggest dissatisfaction is the hospitality shown by the crew.. not sincere and in some cases rude... is this the MH - MALAYSIAN Hospitality that they keep advertising? Very disappointing.."
Cons: "The Business class seats are very uncomfortable. There's just no leg room space when the seats are flat and its very suffocating."
