|Top route||Calgary to Vancouver Intl|
Cons: Waited in the main terminal almost two hours before the check in desks were open.
Pros: They cancelled the flight
Cons: How about a refund?
Pros: Cabin crew was okay
Cons: I would’ve appreciated if the crew did not blame a very evident turn-around delay on weather. The TAF and METAR in Halifax do not support that. It looks more like the crew was trying to hide their incompetence. This delay prevented me from catching my connection in Calgary. Needless to say, Westjet refused to take their responsibilities.
Pros: The seat was the most uncomfortable seat I have ever sat in, almost unbearable.
Cons: No food option on a over 5 hour flight was no good.
Pros: Declined me to board my flight
Cons: Patience when you are travelling with a child
Pros: Westjet crew are always amazing
Pros: All excellent
Cons: Snacks without caffeine
Cons: Less mask nazis. Not flying again
Pros: Short and sweet.
Cons: We changed planes in Calgary, and we could have used better signage. Half of our flight got lost and ended up in the wrong gate. We all had to quickly backtrack. Thankfully we had enough time, but if our next flight had been earlier, we could have lost our connection.
Pros: Professional, but friendly crew.
Pros: Travelers well spaced out
Cons: Nothing given the current circumstances.
Cons: They closed the check in counter early. No kiosk check in was available. No one was in their airport office and neither we, nor airport staff, were able to reach them via the onsite contact info provided. As a result we missed our flight.
Pros: Brian at the desk in ft Lauderdale was fabulous great personality pleasant smile just delightful
Cons: I was not on this flight as a mistake was made by either Kayak or WestJet. I was not refunded my money which I think is unfair.
Cons: Some sort of entertainment. More comfortable seats.
Pros: It was on time and not overbooked
Cons: Nothing it was economy
Pros: seat was the worse, but ok overall
Pros: was just ok, nothing spectacular
Cons: west jet customer service reps in mobay are no good. they need customer service training
Pros: the flight crew made our flight very comfortable and pleasant. One flight attendant ( didn't spot her name) had such a gentle sense of humour while serving us-it was nice. Flight attendants at times seem like strict teachers - so it was nice to smile and laugh - especially now with such fear of flying due to COVID-19
Cons: Boarding process could be a little smoother and less frantic
Pros: Cleanliness of the plane
Cons: More information about when to check-in and seat selection. We checked-in 24 hours before, and most seats were already filled.
Cons: It was a little hot in there
Pros: It is a no frills airline. Cabin crew were friendly.
Cons: No entertainment, no food
Pros: Good crew.
Pros: Very little
Cons: Rough weather. Stopped delivering water and snacks. Seat belt off and no attempt to continue water and snacks for 20 minutes. Then started back at front again to those who had already been served once. When got to me no snacks offered. Had to ask.
Pros: The crew members were professional.
Cons: The seats could be better
Cons: The first flight was late because the personnel was forgotten at their hotel. My luggage was lost’
Pros: Crew was great.
Cons: Boarding process was a bit chaotic
Cons: Be on time!
Pros: Everything was great
Pros: Great crew.
Cons: Not great in flight entertainment.
Cons: We paid for transportation to cancun and it didn’t happen. We hope there will be compensation for the lost day. So disappointing.
Pros: Gate crew was informative but the news they had to give us was extremely disappointing!!
Cons: It would have been better had the flight left for Calgary so we wouldn’t have missed our connection to Cancun and then had to drive to Vancouver and spend the night in a hotel and leave the next day ultimately loosing an entire day of our planned holiday.
Pros: Goood everything
Pros: Nothing same useable
Cons: No need
Cons: Everything was great. Westjet is so much better than Air Canada!
Pros: Overall not bad at all :)
Cons: All was good
Cons: Will never fly with WestJet again regardless of price.
Pros: Politeness, dedicated and professional.
Cons: I can't see what, it was all good.
Pros: Crew were helpful
Cons: Everything was great
Pros: Crew was wonderful. Flight was on time.
Cons: IT TOOK 50 minutes to get our suitcase on arrival in Vancouver
Pros: Average comfort compatible with all airlines
Cons: WestJet is a good airline
Pros: Everything was great, very little turbulence and the crew was great!
Cons: The only complaint I have are the little little flaps on the head rest. You can adjust them to rest your head unfortunately my wasn’t able to hold my head in place.
Cons: There was absolutely nothing "first class" about this flight. Cramped seats, baggage fees, terrible boarding procedures... I've experienced better service on economy flights. Never again with Delta/Westjet.
Cons: Cap. Was great
Cons: Overstuffed storage bins. Absolutely chaotic and abysmal boarding process
Cons: Terrible boarding process
Pros: when you enter Canada and then travel through YVR for another flight it is a total waste. Not the fault of the airline but the way they do things with security
Pros: what they sell as food is horrible
Cons: we arrived safe and sound
Cons: Announcements are delivered with too much speed and lack connection with passengers.
Cons: Aka was happy with westjet
Pros: Crew did the best they could under the conditions
Cons: There was a broken toilet that was very loud and created long line ups because economy only had use of the 1 bathroom while the first class had 2 bathrooms for so few people
Pros: Crew was amazing, personable, joked around. I though boarding would take forever but very smooth.
Cons: Honestly...being stuffed in like sardines ....it is getting worse. maybe the older I get the more I see it....but its so uncomfortable. I think the old days were much better!
Pros: Departed early, landed early! Direct flight.
Cons: Sound at my seat did not work so couldn’t watch a movie. (Well, could watch but not hear). Short flight. Not a problem.
Pros: Very efficient boarding and great crew!!
I just needed to voice my dissatisfaction with this fight. I’m not sure if every Westjet flight I was lucky and had amazing crew members or if the staff on this flight was having a bad flight. Our flight was delayed by 75min. The flight crew did not attend to any requests from the customers for the 75min we were on the tarmac. I asked for headphones and the crew member look agitated I asked made a remark about how nobody buys them so she didn’t know how much they are. She said she would come back with the price, and did not. I had to wait for the beverage cart and then order them again. Then I asked for an additional can of ginger ale. The gentleman said he’ll need to come back (as he was cleaning the garbage). He never came back. I had to hit the assistance button again and got the original woman. Once again agitated and when I asked she said to wait for the beverage cart again. After another 10-15min they started the beverage service again.
On previous flights there were delays, shorter like 30min westjet crew members gave free headphones. And those are the kind of experiences I’ve come to expect from westjet. Not the free aspect but flight crew that care about the customers. The entire crew on this flight was agitated and annoyed from boarding and it definitely showed. Small things like even a smile or even sorry everyone, would’ve gone a long way. But when the crew doesn’t care the flight gets 10x longer, and when the flight is already delayed by 25% of the flight duration it comes to a point where you’re counting down the seconds to get out. The delay was unfortunate and out of the control of the company and crew but that doesn’t mean the crew couldn’t still make it into a memorable experience for the guests.
Pros: Well organized. Helpful & courtesy.
Pros: The crew was fine
Cons: the checked luggage took over an hour to arrive at the carousel. ZERO communication. Other flights arrived after ours and all their baggage arrived and they all left while we stood. No information. No explanation. Poor
Pros: The flight wasn’t full, and we travelled with a lap infant - we really appreciated that they blocked off row for us.
Cons: The food is a scam. It’s overpriced, made poorly, and it’s the only option if you didn’t pack anything onto the plane with you.
Pros: nice but slow in business class
WestJet is a low-cost carrier that strives to deliver affordable travel both throughout Canada and across the world. It flies to more than 25 countries, which are spread across North America, Central America, Europe and the Caribbean. Budget-conscious vacationers make up a significant section of the customer base, with services to the Caribbean and southern American states available.
The primary base of the airline is in Toronto, with the hub responsible for more daily departures than any other location. It also serves as the most common link to the United Kingdom and Europe. WestJet also operates out of hubs in Calgary and Vancouver.
WestJet Encore, WestJet Link and Swoop are subsidiaries of the larger carrier. The Encore airline focuses on regional services, while Link aims to connect smaller Canadian cities with primary airports. Swoop is an ultra-low-cost airline that is based in Hamilton.
While they are not part of a specific airline alliance, a joint venture partnership is in place with Delta Air Lines as well as numerous codeshare agreements. The association with Delta Air Lines includes the sharing of hubs, meaning WestJet has smoother access to cities such as Atlanta, Boston, and Seattle in the United States. Major airlines with which codeshare agreements are maintained include Emirates, Cathay Pacific, China Airlines, and Qantas.
An exclusively Boeing fleet of aircraft is operated, which consists almost entirely of 737 planes. Models such as the 737-700, 737-800, and 737 MAX 8 are regularly flown. These aircraft replaced earlier versions of the 737 family, with fuel efficiency and environmental impact the driving factors.
