Cons: Room furnishings were very tired. Was surprised at the peeling wallpaper and paint in the bathroom. The headboard material (vinyl I believe) was actually worn to the point where the color was coming off on one side of the bed. Not what I expected for an 800 per night room.

Pros: Room was very clean, and staff was very nice.
Cons: I think the prices for the property are way out of line; ridiculously high. While the hotel is lovely, San Francisco does not have a reputation any more for an attractive city. the city is seedy, and most advise against walking around the neighbourhood. Prices this high would be more appropriate in a location where you can enjoy the location.

Pros: Beautiful hotel, in a great location. It is swanky and if you want to experience SF in style it is definitely worth considering. We went round Thanksgiving and the decorations were something else. Lovely roomy bedrooms, really comfortable and clean. Staff are polite and helpful.
Cons: It is very pricey, room service / drinks at the bar are expensive. Room service was also "ok" and you dont really expect just ok for that cost. One major draw back for the hotel - we were next to a suite and the family that came back were beyond noisy every night, kids screaming - the lot. You will experience some very wealthy people here which is both nice and sometimes naturally it has its draw backs . Some people had very inflated opinions of themselves.

Pros: It's history and location made it our runaway first choice. It lived up to its 5 star reputation starting with check in.
Cons: It's an old building; you come up steps to get to the front door. A modern building would have a ramp. But, a ramp would ruin the looks. So you put up with a cumber some handling of your luggage.

Pros: Location was going to be great but didn’t actually get to stay.

6.8 Good
Pros: The restaurant manager.
Cons:
I went to check into my room after having lunch. I said I would meet a coworker there. I got there and our waitress came out and talked to me in a very loud voice saying that none of us had paid for lunch, and that it was going to come out of her salary, and that I had to give her my charge card and pay for all the lunches. I told her that was not so as I saw each of us settle up our tabs. I turned around to leave and went down the escalator after I saw my friend was not there and got another text that he was downstairs.
She followed me downstairs loudly saying that we had not paid our bills and that she was going to call security. At the bottom of the escalator she found security. They all followed me back upstairs and by then my friend that I was supposed to meet joined us. I was a bit upset because I knew we all paid our bills. He was pretty calm and said what will it take to just get this taken care of for now so we can meet our friends for dinner and will come back later.
She just kept insisting there was nothing that could be done except to pay for all three lunches. It was also interesting that as soon as I got to my room there was a phone call verifying that I was just eating in the restaurant and I still wonder if that was not part of the scam. We finally got through to a manager.
After explaining the story again, she went over to a register and looked and found all three of our signed receipts for lunch.
She admitted that I should never have been treated like that and guess what, all of our lunches are comped on her!
Although it was very unnerving, everything turned out well and the hotel room was just fine.

Pros: Location
Cons: Staff were not cooperative and did not resolve an issue I had.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The cleanest and the water.
Cons: The outside odor and the size of the bed it stated that the room came with two queen beds but they looked like full size beds.

Pros: Friendly, helpful staff great location
Cons: Charging $30 for internet in the room is ridiculous! It should be free and this is a big negative for me. It indicates a gotcha mentality since everyone needs or at least wants internet and most places provide it at no charge.

Cons: I only wish that all the charges had been made up front. When my daughter checked in before us she had to pay an extra fee that I had wanted to pay for as the up charge was for something I had requested. Minor issue in all.

Pros: Nice hotel in general
Cons: The check in was one our delayed and the people in the front desk were not very servicial. Since it’s in the top part of the city, walking with kids or senior people is complicated. Breakfast options are not really option, it forces you to buy the full buffet.

4.2 Okay
Pros:
Cons: We stayed in a delux king room but it was extremely small compared to other hotels I’ve stayed in. Very cramped between the entrance, closet and bathroom doors. We kept bumping into the bathroom doors. Extremely tight. There was no vanity mirror in the room and the bathroom was, again, extremely small which made it uncomfortably difficult to do my hair and makeup. No complimentary water was offered. Staff were rude. Limited lighting in the room. Overall the stay was a disappointment and I would NOT consider staying here again.

Pros: It's in a great location. Rooms are clean, even if rather dated. Breakfast is included.
Cons: It's a bit old and worn. The heaters are either not working or something because the room was consistently very cold in February, and cranking up the thermostat raised the temperature only a couple degrees, if any. The continental breakfast was okay.

Pros: Friendly staff, we were able to check in early, and we got a beautiful corner room with windows all around.
Cons: Even on the 7th floor there was a lot of outside noise. There was also noise from the room beside us. You'll have that in a hotel and if it got any worse I could have called the front desk to ask the neighbors to quiet down.
7.0 Good
Pros: Central location Breakfast Large TV Large room
Cons: Homeless people close to hotel, but it's a general problem in SF. I was a solo female returning from concert one night around 11PM and didn't feel scared going from metro station to the hotel (I didn't bring my purse or anything valuable though). I liked that hotel has a check during night hours so you have to show your room card in order to enter the hotel. It would be even better if you couldn't enter the elevator without your room key. Noise - windows provide no isolation, corner rooms seem to be worse since they are completely covered in windows. Fridge is also noisy, so I unplugged it. I had to sleep with earplugs anyway due to street noise. Heating - very cold room, as soon as you turn off the heater, room gets cold in matter of minutes. I had to keep the heater on almost entire time including entire night (it's the one which pushes warm air in the room so the air was quite dry during my entire stay). I did try the other heating type in two different hotels before but radiators were loud and couldn't even heat up the room, so it seems like this type of heating is still better but I hope I don't have to stay in SF during winter days in the future.
5.8 Okay

Cons: The room was not clean. I had to clean the bathroom before I could use it.

I felt really safe within the hotel, though, and the staff were excellent! We also had an amazing view. Would stay again.
Cons: If i were to be really picky, the hotel is definitely a little dated, but I thought it was still plenty clean and comfortable. It looked nicer in person than it did in the pictures.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Best location!
Cons: Should have a better restaurant service. Breakfast choices were only buffet. Not acceptable.
