Clean, comfy, big room, good view, nice beds Slow wifi, pay for parking $26, expensive $300 a night, ugly carpet, pop corn ceiling
Price was reasonable. room was clean. The room was not big like some of the reviews indicate but OK. Breakfast was included even though its nothing special but give everyone a good start in the morning. it's quite far away from all the actions are. About 20 min. walk from the Fisherman's Wharf. Not far away if by car or not hilly but it's SF, hills are everywhere! We stayed on the 3rd floor, every morning shortly before 7, we could hear chairs moving around, you couldn't really sleep in if you wanted to. The noise was from the breakfast room on the 1/F. It was very annoying!
Comfortable stay. Lovely staff. Enjoyable full, free breakfast. No black out curtains in the room.
I love the breakfast. Not much I can say bad.
Comfort Inn By the Bay was close enough to the things that we were looking for that we were able to walk from place to place for much of our trip. The staff was very friendly and the hotel felt safe and cozy. Even after we checked out, there was a place for us to safely leave our luggage until we actually left the city.
Considering everything around the area is expensive this place wasn't too bad. If all you need is a room in something that looks halfway ok, it will do the job. Nothing flashy but I do give them credit for at least serving sausage, eggs and waffles with the breakfast. Nothing too bad to say except the front desk people being a bit disengaged but they got the job done. No cool extras like gym, pool, etc. Im sure that's to be expected in a crowded city.
The room was clean, good view (we could see the Golden Gate Bridge from our 6th floor room). The staff was very friendly. Parking garage spaces were tight but adequate and a good value at $26 per overnight parking. If you are a light sleeper, this place probably won't work for you. It was very noisy, outside and inside. We could hear traffic, sirens, and even people talking outside on the street at all hours. Two homeless people on the sidewalk had a loud argument at 5 a.m. regarding a space they wanted to claim for the day to solicit donations and we could hear them quite well. In the room next to us we could overhear their conversations even though they weren't talking loudly. The walls must be rather thin!
Location close to most everything
Really great location if you're going to go to Fisherman's Wharf or Ghirardelli Square. Room was pretty good-sized. The woman at the front desk lied to us when we checked in and told us she couldn't take our travel visa because it was against company policy. When we checked out in the morning, another woman told us that she couldn't take it because our bank would overcharge us and she was just protecting us (which was not even close to the story the woman told us the night before). She insisted on taking another card, even after we tried to explain that the reason we had the travel card was to protect ourselves and keep from getting charged ridiculous fees by our bank. Also, when we were getting ready in the morning a woman from housekeeping started banging on the door, and then tried to open it. When she saw us in the room (a full two hours before check-out) she said "Oh, you're still in here. Well, when are you leaving?" Not "Gosh, I'm so sorry!" For the outrageous cost of this room I expected better service. Since my partner and I had to pay a bunch of ridiculous fees because they wouldn't accept our bank-issued travel credit card, and because they both lied and were completely rude about it, there is absolutely no way I will ever be staying there again.
It is a very clean and bright hotel, nicely decorated for Christmas. Sound proof walls. Cozy room. Good free breakfast. One of the cheapest decent 3 star hotels in SF. Free WiFi. The parking garage experience was AWFUL. very narrow and low ceilings, with many poles in the way that made it very hard to maneuver. I drove a friend's Ford Explorer which ended up getting multiple dents and scratches from hitting the poles to avoid hitting other cars. If you have a van or truck, DO NOT sTAY HERE. The extra money I saved by staying here ended up costing $500+ in damage repairs. Also, the night staff at the hotel was rude and unhelpful.
Location was awesome. Staff so very friendly. Traffic noise at night
Breakfast was fine Location was good Parking was too expensive. Elevator was slow, stinky and dirty Wifi was slow
I pretty much like everything, I was expecting something different but the experience was totally fine until somethings disappeared from my bedroom such as a ring and a brand new pair of Nike's with the box that I purchased the night before. Staff were rude when I complain about the missing thing from my bedroom. Left the sign up for "do not disturb" but maide still went in and cleaned it. I am not suggesting that house keeping stole the things but they were the only ones that went in the room. So sad that management do not care about the reputation of the hotel. WATCH YOUR STUFF!!!!! 2+2=4
Location: the motel is within 20 min walk to Fisherman's Wharf. Parking: Limited, but available on premises. Beds: comfortable -Cleanliness: booger on the lamp on the night stand; partially torn shower curtain; hair on the bath tub drain; mold on the lower end of the bath tub's handicap handle. -Noise: very noisy heater/cooler. -Furniture: dated worn-out pieces from my grandmother's attic. -Detail: discolored bath tub ceiling (2 brush strokes of paint could have gotten it back to perfect condition); rust/mold on the shower's rod (could be removed in 5 minutes with bleach); electric outlet's plate on the side of the bed loose and outlet not working; TV's wires all loose and coming out of a hole in the wall; one of the first night's towels was worn out with side threads hanging out. -Parking: this is a family motel and guests return early. So when I returned back late, there was no parking. Since Sat and Sun parking is allowed in front of the motel, I parked outside. -Breakfast: served in the lobby with only 8 to 10 seats available. If all taken, they ask you to take a tray back to your room. -Staff #1: I left the room in the morning and placed the "please clean" sign on the door. When I returned in the afternoon, a manager (??) knocked on the door and gave me an authoritative lesson saying that I should not have left the sign outside, since I did not need anything (was always under the impression that the maid, once done with the room, places the sign back on the door handle's inside the room. -Staff #2: When checked out, my friend accidentally left a phone charger plugged in an outlet. I called the same day and asked for them to find it and mail it back. Their first response was to tell me that there were going to charge my credit card! I asked them if charging my credit card 45 cents was worth it and could not cover it in the name of good customer service, since I stayed in the motel for 3 nights (and overpaid). They said NO, and promised to call me back once the charger was found. Still waiting for the call! -I travel nationally and internationally and have never encountered such horrible customer service. No American or American-raised owner or manager would ever run this kind of business with such bad customer service. -Sorry, but I would not stay there again. Tons of other places would love to have my business and they will.
Parking was convenient & location was also convenient to restaurants and sites.
I thought the location and closeness to fishermans wharf and easyness to the other transport was great i thought that the price was a bit excessive for what we got but the location made up for some of that. We had a lot of trouble with the Wi-Fi.
Easy to find on a major street with free underground parking. Easy walk to local attractions like Fisherman's Wharf and Union Street with bus service to go farther. Plain and simple, small so no crowd issues. Beds new and very comfortable. Needed some better maintenance in bathroom and common areas. The rooftop terrace is minimal and could be a real asset with some decor and character touches as it offers excellent views.
It was very important to me the parking car, and the location where the hotel is. It is near of almost all places I want to visit. I don't like the carpet.
Good value and good, safe location, close to bus lines.
Comfort of the rooms- clean and comfortable bed, nice bathroom, nice view from the hotel's terrace, and nice people. Cafe and continental breakfast.
The handy location and friendly and helpful employees
location They did not have my reservation. If it would have been full, there would be problems for someone
It was good value for the money and the location and facilities were excellent.
Nice Location for walking to attractions, handy with the parking (although a little tight but we liked the challenge!). Breakfast was terrible - cakes and muffins do not a breakfast make! Hotel needs an update and seemed a little on the expensive side for what it was.
I liked the location and the free parking. The room needed some repair, paint and the shower head needed fixing.
Great location with parking. Friendly staff. Clean.
The Travel Lodge was a clean and convenient facility. The staff was wonderful!! None
The staff was frinedly and helpful There were no in room movies and now swimming pool. The continental breakfast could have been expanded with fruit.
The location. It was near everything we wanted to do Didn't have the amenities we asked for (I.e. fridge/microwave)
front desk was very helpful when we couldn't figure out where to park in the garage extra charge for parking. At the rate of the room parking should have been included
value if you just want to put your head down at night, room could be updated , looks kinda old fashioned, but it was suitable for what i needed it for. room could be updated , looks kinda old fashioned, but it was suitable for what i needed it for. walls a little thin, could hear showers from the next room right by the headboards, lots of noise coming from the room above us,
it`s proximity to the fishermans wharf area and easy access to Van Ness/101 freeway. rooms facing Lombard st. are prone to street noise during peak traffic hours.
Great staff, very friendly and helpful. You can walk from the hotel to important touristic places.
Location is very good, close to Fisherman's Wharf and easy access to Cable Car and Streetcar. Neighboring street, Polk Street, has a wide variety of nice restaurants. Good value for the money in central San Francisco. Sound insulation relatively light.
The staff were really helpful. They let us checkin early and didn't charge us. They were good value for money. However the room was basic and did the job. You would have to eat out as the are no kitchen facilities.
The service No complaints
It was what we expected, car park is extra which was not clear from the booking info?
I love the location and pets are ok. There is a dog park right accross the street, so very good with pets. Staff was most helpful and friendly. It has recently been remodeled so it is nicer than the last time I stayed there. Rooms are a little small.
Friendly and helpful staff. A little problem with the heavy bags and no lift - but lots of willing help!
The knowledge of the staff was second to none, and free internet was usefull. Hotel is a little tired, bfast was a little disapointing.
Motel was well equiped inc in room safe, continental breakfast,in room coffee, plus, english style pub around the corner "liverpool lils" get in early for car park space, otherwise on main rd
excellent service by Raymond, Great location and free parking! next to kindergarten can be noisy in the morning.
Good location near Golden Gate Bridge and Presidio Park. The room was damp and cold. Even new towels ended up getting wet. The shower pours too little hot water. Breakfast is terrible and the area is called "Hospitality Room" where there are just 3 tables. The problem is that guests occupy for reading newspaper and you don´t have tables availables to eat. There's no parking lot for many cars.
Very handy to many S.F. activities & good restaurants yet away from the busiest/noisiest part of Lombard St. No previous reviews mentioned this but next door is a daycare center so if you don't mind the 'screaming kids' from 8:30am to 12 noon & 3 to 5pm (Mon to Fri), then ok. It only bothered us in the mornings & one afternoon we were back early. Request rooms away from this Day Care if such things bother you.
Great location, near Fishersmans Wharf - Golden Gate, Alcatraz, Pier 39.
the staff was very friendly the room was dark due to an overhanging balcony and an awning. No natural light made it into the room
The location was great - walkable to boutique shops and restaurants, plus the marina. The hotel room was clean, offered a walk in closet and had an updated bathroom. The bed was comfortable too. They offered a year round heated pool and continental breakfast as well. This was our first stay, but it won't be our last!
I enjoyed the helpfulness of staff. The rooms are well-appointed and adaptively, attractively renovated upscale from the old motor court it once was. It's clever, creative and a nice change of pace. It's a bit noisey---but to be expected in that it is old construction and all access in and out involves noise.
It was in a great location to walk along Lombard Street, to the Golden Gate bridge and to Fisherman's Wharf and we felt safe in the area. Our first impression was unfortunately terrible as we were given the key to someone else's room and walked in on a group of guys drinking and smoking, very early in the morning! This made us think we had made a grave error in location and hotel choice. However, I think this was just an unfortunate experience as the hotel was quiet and the other guests orderly during the remainder of our stay. And it should be noted that smoking was not permitted in the rooms - these guests were just abusing the system!
Excellent family friendly atmosphere!
Nicely situated in the Marina neighborhood. Plenty of lovely restaurants there, better than downtown. There's no room for breakfast: take it outsifde at the pool or into your room.
Clean fresh rooms, colourful decor, heated pool, very good location.
Great location, fun decor-friendly staff a little noisy
Staff was awesome-location is awesome
The staff were extremely helpful, polite and professional. I will recommend this Hotel to friends, customers and fellow sailors. When we return we will stay at the Hotel del Sol.
Convenient location, very close to centre of city, able to walk to Fishermans Wharf. Very close to bus routes making it very easy to get around the city. No coffee making facility in the room
location - great, for city tour.staff - very good. breaffast - nice but you have to eat in your room. totaly - convinient but quite expansive for similar hotels/motels. here - 170 $ for 4 guest, similar - 120$.
It is a great hotel with excellent location, nice and clean rooms, friendly and helpful staff (Jorge was the best!) and a very good complimentary breakfast (bagels, muffins, pastries, coffee, juices, yogurt....). Next time I'm in sfo, I know where I'm staying at.......HOTEL Del sol, of course!
convient to my conference at fort mason, reasonably priced, convient access to fisherman's wharf, comfortable rooms a little small
I was allowed to check in early. Great value for the room. Located within walking distance to several bus stops. Good restaurants nearby. Glad it didn't have shared bathrooms either. No A/C. I had to open the windows to cool my room down, and then the traffic was too loud to enjoy watching television.
The Marina Inn staff were exceptionally warm, friendly, and helpful. Our deluxe queen was spacious, clean and very pretty. The location is excellent- close to the water, many reasonably priced delicious restaurants, and boutique shopping. I highly recommend the Marina Inn The included breakfast was very basic. There was sandwich bread (next to a toaster), hard boiled eggs, yogurt, a few bananas and orange juice.
Great location. The hotel is right off the 30 bus line. Nice and friendly staff. Good small free breakfast. Great value for the money. Not the warmest blankets they had a few holes in them, but everything was clean and smelled nice.
Front desk quite helpful & friendly The location is great, and is very close to Chestnut Street with the Muni bus system. Overall I will stay here again, now that I know how things work. Did get good rate ($80/nite) Cold: no heat & only 1 thin blanket Lukewarm shower - will get hot one if the water is run about 10 minutes or so, per front desk - but didn't know this for the first morning:( Not enough towels (no washcloths/bath towels) Solutions: Front desk was great about giving me everything I needed. Got initially second blanket -almost slept well and then W/3rd blanket slept better. Wall heater nonfunctional. Whoever cleans the room does not replace the towels - just takes the used ones away. Continental breakfast: ok, didn't see the hard boiled eggs first day as the are on shelf below eye level.
The room was relatively clean. The carpet in the hallway was about 2000 years old. It was extremely dirty that I wanted to throw up. There was no ironing board or iron in the room so if you're here for a meeting that will be a problem. There was no parking so if you rent a car, you will have to drive around and around to find parking. There are other motels and inn within couple blocks and those have parking. There was no thermostat in the room so you can't control temperature in your room. I would go somewhere else if I has known how it was before I came.
The location is fairly good, nearby food and shops and 45 min walk to pier 39. The quality is bad. The bed was horrible, i was glad it was time to get up in the morning because the bed made my back hurt. My wife had the same. The shower made alot noise, same for all other showers which we heard in the morning. Our promised breakfast was nothing more then milk and pre-packaged muffins. We decided to go out for breakfast in the end. For $65 this was not good enough. I think most reviews here are based on the hotel years ago. However it clearly aged without maintenance.
The room was pretty nice overall. The bed was nice, and the area was pretty beautiful. a walking distance (for those who like to wonder around the city), to many cool places. When I got to the room, the carpet was a little wet, so I guess it might had a problem in a rainy day.
very good hotel, clean, open 24/24.it isn't very central but there are 2 buses lines across the street. very good continental breakfast with milk, thè, coffe, very good banana muffins and eggs. ther's only some noisy of traffic, but we are so exhausted for tour and we stay very ok!!!
good location very noisy
Convenient location near SF places of interest. Good value and very helpful staff. Rooms comfortable, with enough space to get organised. The continental breakfast was unusual for the British taste. Some of the rooms could be noisy, being close to a busy road but this is a subjective view.
Only the location. They say that there is internet connection throughout the hotel, but in fact, you can use it only on the 2nd floor. If you are on 3 or 4th floor, you should go to the 2nd to be able to connect the internet. Also, unbelievably, they do not have parking..
After some of the reviews, I was a bit nervous, but overall the room was fine. Clean, relatively comfortable, friendly staff, a bit noisy.
It is easily accessible to down town San Francisco using public transportation. I booked the king room and was given a double bed because the room was not available. The place looks horrible. It needs to be torn down. Too noisy.
Its location. i stayed for 5 nights and my room was not cleaned once.
Hair on all 3 pillows, need I say more!!! Bathroom fairly clean, but the bed had just been made again, with used sheets. Internet connection was one bar and working between connection and off line. Do you know the feeling of writing a letter and push send, and then you are offline...? See above..
Price was unbeatable. Bathroom was remodeled and sparkling clean. Room was very plain and basic, but clean. Location was great. Parking was free. Bed was comfortable, pillows were great. Had king rooms available at no extra cost. Room had a fridge and we froze ice in baggies (no ice machine). If you are on a very tight budget, or are a bargain shopper (like us), this is a dream come true. TV easy to work, no premium channels. Half the cost of any other motel in the Marina District, and perfect to sleep and clean up and get going. One step up from a hostel. Outside was undergoing remodel, outside floor rough where walkway carpet had been removed. Long narrow parking strip, had to back out onto the street. No clothes closet or hooks to hang clothes, we used a "towel loop" in the bathroom. No in or out of room coffee service, but a 24 hour donut shop about 2 blocks away. No ice machine. If you don't care about amenities grab this deal. If you're spoiled by free hot breakfasts, or on a fantasy vacation or romantic getaway, go elsewhere. These are not complaints, just hints of the quirky things you will find.
The price for the location was excellent. Well worth the cost of not having to deal with morning rush hour in San Francisco. Would definitely stay again. I would say they could update the bedding, other than that nothing.
Location was fine - you could walk to fisherman's wharf fairly easily. From the outside the hotel looked run-down, but the room was well-kept and clean. the bed/pillows were too soft, the wifi signal was too weak so we couldn't access the internet.
Good location. For travelers with the car- free parking. Free wi fi access
Good location and price. Complimentaly breakfast was less than expected.
Clean, cheap and parking is included No a/c and noisy (both traffic and residents)
A good budget motel for a short stay in SF... Small stinky room...
The kindness of the people at frontdesk. Checking-in too late (2 pm). I had to wait for two hours for rooms to get clean. Rather poor wireless connection.
excellent location, parking available, clean room
Plenty of parking, comfortable bed, good shower Refrigerator did not work
The ability to park in a very busy city and the friendliness of the relief managers. The lack of facilities to make anything other than poor quality filter coffee in the room.
Felt like home when first checked in Felt not important at checking out
decor of the rooms Parking area too small
Good location to visit SF Downtown Noisy, beds very bad, breakfast to be forgoten!
clean sheets and comfortable bed very noisy location at Lombard and Franklin, musty smelling rooms, look for better options for about the same price in that area
Simple clean room.
Helpful staff Free parking microwave & fridge location a little updated a little bit noisy, but it's San Francisco so understandable
The place is in a convenient spot, near to almost everything in SF downtown area. The staff was nice and helpful The bed and carpet were damp and had weird smell. Theres a guy sleeping on the stairs, which iscreepy. The price was a little expensive but we had no other choice due to last minute decision
Cose to where we needed to be Room smelled of urin
location parking overcrowed. handicapped spaces taken by non-handicapped. Elevator didn't work. Noisy guests on floor above. Double deluxe room wasn't either.
The staff was super friendly. The hotel was very clean. The room was a little small but perfect for us. 2 adults, 2kids. We just needed a place to sleep as we were out and about all evening and left early in the morning. I highly reccomend this hotel. About a 15 minute walk to the warf. Nothing. :-)
Location Way too noisy, dated hotel, rooms too small, not enough parking, elevator wouldn't work.
Clean rooms. Great for just passing through Price. Could have been $50-$80 cheaper.
Hotel staff was nice, friendly and helpful. Unfortunately the rooms are noisy because they face the street. Decent hotel but needs updating. Good central location and within 10 minute walk to fisherman's wharf. I consider this a budget hotel. Avoid room 318: Very noisy and small.
- Rest room is big, parking is ok Security
The location was wonderful..Short walk to piers and wharf as well as China Town and Little Italy. Room was clean and staff was friendly. We were in the smallest of rooms, but we thought it was quite cozy. I'm almost 6'7" and the full sized bed was fine. The shower was literally in the room and the bathroom was very small, but once again, it did not present much of a problem. We spent almost all of our time out of the room as I suspect most would do. Several reviewers complained of street noise. I'm a light sleeper and it was noticable, but did not ruin my night. My wife is a deep sleeper and she had a great night's sleep... well, until I had to call the police to stop the burglary (see next paragraph) I witnessed a car burglary from our room window at 4:30 am. This simply added to the adventure. It was nice to know that the police response time was under 5 minutes. We would definitely stay here again, although it was a bit expensive. Room cost. Parking was off site and fairly expensive as well, although the attendant was very nice and recommended several sites for us to see and things for us to do.
The room was clean and the bed was comfortable; it was also fairly quiet for the area The furniture was shabby and the shower head wasn't very forceful
- Clean room - Nice bed - WiFi worked fine - Excellent location - not loud outside - Dirty outside the room - Breakfast did not start until 8am, which is too late for me
The beds and pillows were very comfortable... Poor parking (of course, being in San Francisco, having any free parking is good). No air conditioning.
The motel was in an easy to access location. Parking is included. The rooms appeared to be recently renovated. The beds weren't especially comfortable and the biggest issue for us was the noise level. It seemed like we could hear every movement inside the hotel.
It was open when we came in late from the airport Parking stalls, as much as they were available, were too small.
Hotel staff great! Room really clean, as was the bathroom. Bed & pillows comfy. However, if you want quiet, forget it. Doors and walls paper thin and much noise from partiers. I suggest earplugs. Motel is very close to fine dining, shopping and Starbucks though, and that's a plus! Good if you are on a budget and only use it for sleep. Very noisy, so don't stay by the elevator.
Can't beat the location! Bed is uncomfortable and rooms are tiny with very little sound barrier.
Location was great, staff was friendly. The motel was very quiet and private. We very much enjoyed our stay. I do wish the rooms WERENT so run down, but it was sill worth the price and location!
Location. Walking distance to most of Points of interest and Pier (39) and choice of quick food Restaurants nearby. My first stay at Motel Capri was in 1971 (39 years ago) and kept coming back ever since.
Location---close to family's home. No hair dryers in rooms. I had one delivered from the office, however, so it wa okay.
Location was ok, parking easy. Had wireless internet. Room was fine. Bed a little small for 2 people (no, we are not fat). The hotel was loud - thin walls meant we could hear TVs on in adjacent rooms, and hear people having conversations outside, doors banging late at night, etc.
It was just a place to sleep Light bulbs burned out, one security lock broken, no lik for coffee pot so it did not work. The place was clean.
very good location, close to the marina, restaurants. breakfast was a joke; no fridge in the room; not so clean and very dark place
Good location - close to many city attractions. Complimentary breakfast was a joke - one very sweet cookie wrapped in a foil. That's all.
Close to downtown The continental breakfast consists in a pastry (no choice). No choice, very poor breakfast, you have to eat in room, no other spaces. one day they didn't clean my room. If I would do one phone call, my phone was broken, I try to advice the staff but no way to resolve the problem. one night there was no space for parking, we had to park in another space, and we had to pay. very bad service, staff very rude.
It was mostly clean and in decent shape for an older hotel. Location is great. The double queen room was TINY, smaller than the average master bedroom. Night staff was great, morning staff not so much. No pool, no spa, very little parking, tiny room, and expensive. Maybe the cost is just typical San Francisco prices but it sure seemed alot for not much. Elevator quit working.
Room #308 needs a face lift..that's where I stayed the 1st time. However, the price was good and the staff friendly & helpful, and was close to my doctors/hospital. So I decided to come back & rm #309 was perfect. I brought my my own washcloths, & a few other things to make me comfy (my pillow & a throw) since I never use blankets/comforters that hotels/motels provide. I always put remote for tv in zip-lock, and I'm good to go!! Priced right plus free parking. I will always return here unless I'm with my Sweetie, then he foots the bill in 4 star hotels. I like coming here.
good value for money, very helpfull staff! They have plenty of tips to discover the city. Very kind. Ideally situated to discover the city, parking available, busses nearby. Would recommend it to everyone!
Staff was accomodating, but the room we were first assigned was unclean and clearly had a bed bug infestation. Bed bugs in our room. We checked and noticed them immediately on the corners of the bed upon entering the room. There was a big dead one, and a bunch of droppings. A serious infestation. The staff was helpful relocating us to a room w/o them.
The office staff was friendly. There is an elevator which is a big plus. We stayed during Fleet Week, and we were happy to have a room for a reasonable price anywhere in San Francisco. Lombard Street is noisy twenty-four hours a day. Although our room was in the back, there was still a lot of street noise.
This realy is a great hotel in a great neighbourhood! It was realy cheap for this location, and there was free parking and free wifi. For breakfast you just walk for 5 minutes down the street, and there are several reataurants.
Nice, clean room. A bit noisy, but better than I expected. Noise.
Many TV channel availables for free. Nihil
Very pleasant stay, but simple rooms. Owner is very accomodating Be prepared to ask for another room if you prefer non-smoking! The hotel is 'non-smoking' but some of the rooms have a heavy presence of smoke, so be prepared to ask.
Free parking in the middle of San Francisco!!! Great location!!! Clean and comfortable rooms. Very helpful, courteous staff. There isn't much for breakfast, but so what, you are in SF, just go out and enjoy yourselves.
Location, free parking, kitchenett, good continental breakfast, bus stop on corner, good restaurant's and grocery store in walking distance. kithchenette could have a toaster and more pots/pans/utensils
I like the fact that it was located in a great part of town - close to many attractions and very quiet. Plus, right up the street there are plenty of bars that one could choose from (if looking for such things). The staff was extremely helpful, polite, and accommodating. The room was small but we were not looking for a place to lounge as we came to the city to be in it, not to be in the room. Did not like the dirty shower floor, but mostly due to appearance.
The staff was friendly. No air conditioning was a bit rough on a hot day but it cooled off enough by evening to not be an issue.
Free parking and convenient location were real pluses
Parking is very expensive in San Francisco and parking is included in this motel! Rooms a very small but enough.
Staff very helpful, well connected, good location. Small size room (looked bigger in the picture)
Excellent service. Room was crowded by furniture. Tight space. Otherwise excellent.
Location Very dated tile in bathroom...carpeting very questionable.
Staff always very helpful and accomodating. Convenient to public transportation (4 bus lines on the corner), always clean and comfortable.
Got last minute on our way into city when everywhere else was booked. GREAT PRICE. Can't beat the location - within 10 minutes walking to Pier 39 and other great sights. Cannot beat the value Rooms were somewhat smaller - didn't mind because we only slept and showered there.
Location was central to SF Do you want shoddy construction or cold showers? Look no further. Very old musty smell almost everywhere. The places that weren't, actually smelled like a used diaper- no exaggeration. The lid to the toilet tank was not even the same size as the toilet bowl leaving it to be half balanced and look incredibly sloppy. Have you ever heard the expression, "you can't fit a square peg in a round hole?" The builders of this place sure hadn't. The toilet seat was also a good deal longer than the actual toilet leaving a massive overhang. Floppy dong- say hi to the yellow brown tiles! The grout and sealant of the seams of the bath fitters-esque renovation of the shower was grotesquely unprofessional. There were visible nail heads protruding from the white substance. But wait- there's more! The shower never even reached a warm temperature. All three nights we stayed here the water never became warm.. It was not user error.. The sinks or any water source never became more than barely room temperature. There was one morning it seemed a bit warmer, but it could have been hallucinations from diaper fumes. Tanks tapped out at 7-8 AM and still again at 9-10 at night?... fantastic. Three days of cold, prison style showers... It was actually festive since we planned on going to Alcatraz while we visited the bay area. There was a black smoke like stain above the headboard of the creeky bed as well. No doubt some poor soul who occupied the room prior couldn't take another ice shower, the diaper smell, or the nails in the bathroom grout and left gun residue on the wall when he made his final check out to life. Oh! I almost forgot! There were also those black clamp style office clips on the blinds to the front window facing the streets. These were to keep the blinds shut because obviously the ability for the shades to remain shut on their own is a luxury granted to only those willing to pay more than $150 a night for motel, diaper smell, prison showering amenities. San Francisco is a great city though.
Advertise King bed, but was only a queen. Continental breakfast was horrible, why even bother. Otherwise it felt like a budget hotel even when we were "upgraded" to a deluxe room. Maybe places in the city just aren't great value, although I've stayed at a nicer place for a better price in the Tender Loin, even though that area is one I'd never spend time in again.
Very clean and the staff was very friendly. The location is good and they have free parking. The hotel is right on a busy street so you get street noise but just turn on the air unit and it's enough white noise to take car of it. The room is small but has all you need.
Works great when you are visiting the marina or the palace of fine arts. Great location for lots of SF activities. It is on Lombard street so it is a bit noisy but not bad for the price Noisy, needs renovating.
Nice location. Relatively cozy. Their breakfast was more of a snack, but hey, it was free. The walls/ceilings are way too thin. It sounded like we had a heard of rhinoceroses above us. Luckily there were no bed bugs, but it seems at one time there was because of old bed bug stains on the sheets.
proximity to restaurants ants in the bathroom and main room
Nothing at all. Receptionist lied and said we would be charged even if we cancel the room, ended up staying at the marina motel across the street, way better room with kitchen and couch + room for cheaper than what la luna was asking for.
Great price the bed was comfortable. The shower.
I like the location. Close to many shops and restaurants The building is pretty old and the downpour from the rain that day was all over the stairs.
Location is ok Expensive for what you get Shower is disgusting Room is ok- but not with the price
The room was clean and spacious, and both my friend and I had parking spaces close to the room. The room didn't have microwave--I heated a carafe of water in the coffee maker to make a bowl of instant oatmeal in the morning. The clerk at the front desk was pleasant, but seemed perturbed when I asked for a second parking pass. He knew that my friend and I were arriving separately, but was surprised that we both had cars.
