The staff was most courteous and helpful. The hotel was very convenient to the heart of Paris and many of its attractions. I recommend that reservations be re-confirmed prior to travelling to avoid any confusion.
We loved the central location, across from the Louvre and the Gardens of Toulerie as well as the view of the Eiffel Tower. Sightseeing, shopping and all types of dining were within walking distance. There was nothing unpleasant about this hotel.
Great atmosphere, helpful staff.
Location, style, very friendly and professional staff at front desk and concierge Room not very spacious, no gym/spa
Location and attention to detail by a superb staff
location & style
Great location ......just a short walk from some fantastic places of great interest. Buzzing cafe night life right on the doorstep too....good atmosphere in the hotel... It seemed expensive and the quality failed to match the expense....certainly for a pound based UK visitor. There was a shortage of helpful welcoming staff....particularly at reception where you face an unacceptable wait. Irritating.
The quality of the rooms, decoration, and space are far far less than shown in the pictures and indicated in the hotel desciption.
The best about hte hotel is its location - just next to the Louvre, between two squares, walking distance to everything I wanted to visit (never took a taxi or any other kind of transport). The receptionists were English-speaking and nice and helpful. The room was spacey (stayed in a junior suit), as well as the bathroom, cosy and clean. In fact, everything in the room, as well as the service, could be compared to a 5* hotel (including the cosmetics in the bathroom). Plus, the free WiFi is a nice addition to all. The hall and the corridors need renewing - the first impression of the hotel lowers ones expectations because of the old and a bit dirty common spaces in the hotel. Another thing, is that the air-conditioning was poorly working and it was a bit hot, but I just turned it off and opened the windows from time to time. Also, unpleasant surprice was the thinnes of the walls - I could hear every slam of a door and footsteps, however, no one really made noise, so I slept like a baby. One more thing about noise is that the windows of my room overlooked an inner yard and when opening the window there was a bussying sound from the air-conditioning or other machines. Overall, these were quite minor problems and didn't spoil my stay in the least!
The worst hotel Old smelly rooms , bad carpet dirty, wood very bad
Excellent location, helpful staff, clean rooms, large and light bathrooms, really french atmosphere, close to most of the sightseeings and fashion boutiques. The decoration of rooms is a bit tired, but this is a problem of the most of the hotels in the centre of Paris.
Great traditional typical parisian 4* hotel. Excellent location. Wanted 100 euros to stay until 1:00pm for check-out. Offered me 12 noon free.
Concierge services are exceptional - special thanks to Eric, Remy, Magaly.
The welcoming and very helpful staff, cleanliness of rooms, and above all, the excellent location. The room service was poor. We had a baby and we used to order warm milk twice a day. They gave us hot milk one day, watered down the other, cold another, and so on, even though every day we asked for a glass of warm milk. I guess it all depends on who is on the shift.
Location and comfort.
Location, nice atmosphere On the expensive side
O.K., I know its owned by Hyatt but It still felt boutiquey and small with a personal touch (as if not owned by Hyatt). The staff focused on attentive service, from the front desk, to room service, etc. Its clearly part of the staff culture. There is an intimate feel as if they all know each other--and everything about you. When I spoke to one front desk person they know a discussion I had with another the day before. The Concierge was amazing and made recommendations and the actual reservations and when things were not available made good judgments on his own for changes. We felt like they know us and were watching out for us. It is not that big really which helps in this case. The rooms felt well maintained with a terrific balance of old world and new. Highly Recommended!!!!
it was next to the metro station
We liked the fact that the hotel was in the very center of the city and all the famous sightseeing objects were easy to reach. No, everything was good.
Great location. Staff was very helpful. Room was spacious.
Great location (at the door of the Louvre, comfortable apartment studio with plenty of space to stretch out, well appointed rooms (fixtures, freshness). gym needed more space and more free weights - really just cardio material. Also, our neighbors above got quite loud (not sure if floors were as sound proofed as could be).
I researched the place on Tripadvisor and read praise for room 306 so I requested it and got it: wonderful! and more than I expected:a spacious sunny apartment with lots of typical Parisian windows onto a fountain and square. Staff were always professional and helpful, their indications for fast orientation on the Metro were invaluable. Not really dislikes but suggestions:While facilities were fine in the small but spotless kitchen, a few basics, like a salt and pepper pot (preferably full) and even a little sugar or cream would not cost the hotel much and make arrivals easier for their guests; also in the bathroom a mug for toothbrushes would have been useful.
Great location. Apartment - Space for a group of 3-4 people. Free internet and TV lounge.
Location Pretty pricy to get two single beds pushed together and called a king size
The location was perfect for discovering Paris. The apartment was equipped well for the stay. Air conditioning was a welcome relief.
LOCALIZATION - CENTRE OF PARIS, COUPLE METERS FROM LOUWR, APARTAMENT WITH FULLY EQUIPED KITCHEN, TWO ROOMS, SEPARATE WC AND BATHROOM OLD FASHIONED, "LOW" THREE STARS, NOBODY CLEAN ROOMS, TOWELS NOT CHANGED FOR FOUR DAYS, TOO EXPENSIVE
Nothing Everything. It is a royal rip off. They charge 5 Star prices for a 2 Star property, which is totally incomplete. No armchair in room, air conditioning which was off and the hotel is on a very noisy street, no tall glasses, just tiny wine glasses.A tiny old fashioned TV set
The room was beautifully decorated, spacious and elegant. A very comfortable bed. Great location.
Exellent location and very convenient to shopping ,eating and going to any hot spots in Paris. The room is very clean and kitchen is convenient . The staff are kind and friendly and can speak English very well.
Perfect location, very helpful and friendly receptionists, quite a large room, comfortable to stay with a small kid I would expect more frequent room cleaning and change of towels
location room is too smaill
Rooms are clean and wonderfully decorated in muted colors and real paintings. The layout is very thoughtful so that rooms (smallish given this is Paris) do not feel cramped. Spending extra to book a delux room is probably worth the cost. We stayed at the courtyard and the street side rooms on different nights and both were very quiet. The location of the hotel was perfect for sightseeing and shopping. We also found the front desk and concierge staff to be very professional and friendly. Breakfast selections are limited but more than adequate. You should be aware that this is a boutique hotel and does not have a big lobby space or a restaurant for dinner, but perhaps because of it, the stay feels like you are staying at a very wealthy friend's house. A very special boutique hotel in Paris. We will definitely stay here again in our next visit to Paris. There is nothing that we didn't like.
Rooms are tiny and overpriced. I have been to Paris many times and the rooms are smaller than any other hotel I've stayed at. Two people can barely move around at the same time.
Cannot beat the location. 1/2 block from the Louvre, metro, shops, restaurants. Excellent rate for location. Balcony in the room.
The hotel was very well located, basic but clean and it had a nice breakfast. It had absolutely no charm but for a busy tourist eager to see as many sites as possible, it served its purpose very well. Just need to be aware that it is a place to lay your head, not an experience. The hotel lacked any charm at all...it was truly just a place to sleep. The walls seemed very thin and we could hear our neighbours. There was also construction right outside the window and we were not informed of this in advance or even at the time of arrival.
The staff were very helpful and friendly; breakfast was excellent. The location is just brilliant right in the centre of Paris and near to all the sites. The rooms are very small but they are comfortable.
Location is v. good
Friendly staff and excellent location Though the room was at the back, we could hear the air conditionning system just under our window and our neighbours a bit too much.
Staff were helpful and efficient. Hotel was ideally located for sightseeing. The end of the bed was a bit too close to the window and passage was difficult:
From your welcome, to daily needs, all the way to check out, the staff were outstanding. The concierge made great recommendations, the doormen polite and efficient, and the housekeeping staff attentive. The rooms were well appointed and the bed (and high count linens) were very comfortable. The location was a huge plus: one block from my business meetings and two blocks from the Louvre. The rooms were on the smaller side but certainly not squished like some French hotels.
Location ... Location ... Location The courtyards are just gorgeous and what better place to enjoy breakfast or coffee or a drink. We loved our room, # 210. it had a loft with a bed. and a view of the courtyard. Breakfast was not included. I think the room price should include it !
The position Frankly more or less everything! In serious need of modernisation!! Air cond not functioning in a great number of rooms, carpets hardly clean in common areas, state of the building itself, in the garden show the lack of maintenance. An overpriced, and way overrated hotel.
Very comfortable, affordable Hotel with the luxury of the Spa. After long days of walking it was great to relax in the pool and spa! The room was very big as is the American way! Location was perfect.
Great location, excellent base for touring and exploring from. Park right across the street and metro station at front door. Staff very friendly - concierge service was excellent helping with decisions and arrangements. Enjoyed the bar in the evenings. Would likely stay there on any return trip.
great hotel no complaints
Overall was a great place but its ally was given a room that was approximently 250 sq feet. Enough place for one but NOT two. To change rooms it cost an extra $50.00/ day. And while we were there the room was rented out again with the same result occurring to another couple. So while it made have great qualities the hotel still scams the customer.
location of hotel was amazing, staff was great, concierge was great. everything was fine
Concierge was extremely helpful with planning day trips and use of metro. We travelled with subway and bus without any trouble as they give you maps and great instructions. Rooms were clean and had fresh crisp white linens. Housecoat and slippers to use spa. Courtyard lovely to sit in while waiting for wife to get ready. We had a two level suite on mainfloor over looking a very French courtyard/garden.
The location was awesome! The noise and lack of an outlet in the bathroom, The room was also dated and could see years of wear and tear.
Quiet and cozy room. Spacious and clean. Staff was very helpful at check in and the few times I requested suggestions for dining.
I had a great stay. Staff was very polite and helpful. Location was perfect, breakfast was delicious. Will come back again
My boyfriend and I stayed here on our first trip to Paris. The location is amazing - a metro stop across the street, as well as the Louvre and Tuilleries gardens. The bed was large and comfortable, and our room was cleaned no matter how late in the day. The restaurant had a beautiful courtyard and good food (breakfast is not included). The room was a little dark, but the common areas of the hotel felt luxurious. Couldn't have asked for a better location, especially at the price we got. The room was a little dark - could have used more lamps and another mirror. A few nights there was noise from people either closing doors or shutters in the hotel. For some reason the front desk took about an hour to deliver us our bags despite multiple calls, but that was the only time we had an issue with service.
Design and location food
Location Room service was rude, the bathroom smelled really bad and it stunk up the bedroom. breakfast was not good nor tasty. The bed was not king or queen size, it was two single beds put togather, very uncomfortable
Design and Decoration Broken Lift more than 1 Day (If Compare with this Level)
Every single member of staff was very friendly and very helpful. The hotel was in a perfect location, between all the main sights to see. The foyer was a little plain and not very welcoming.
The room we had on our second night was very nice. It was as we had booked - a Classic room. I don't understand. If you don't want us to write about a bad experience - which we had - why ask?
The hotel was spotlessly clean and the staff were exceptional. They did everything within their power to make your stay more enjoyable and to assist you in any matter.
The staff were very nice and helpful and spoke good english. The breakfasts were very good, we also liked the nice linen used and the comfortable bed. The hotel reception area is not very welcoming. There is only an old couch and 2 very small reception desks with poor quality music playing. My first impression of the hotel was not good, they could have made the reception area much more inviting - get rid of the couch!! We also didnt like the shower as it was hand held! - makes it hard to wash your hair, thats if there is any hot water as on 2 occasions in the morning there was no hot water, especially annoying on the morning of departure before a 24 hour flight home!
Hotels name is not visible from the street
Perfect location for side seeing and museums, especially Louvre as well as for shopping There is no real lobby and reception desk - instead rather ridiculous two stands for staff
Very clean dust free environment due to no rugs on the floor. Excellent staff service. Small hotel, with very personal service. Very quiet room. Excellent location. At 400 a night, it seemed pricey but I don't visit Paris enough to know the going rates. I walked into another 4 star and asked about rates and they were 25 to 30 % cheaper. The quality of the service at L'Empire is so good though that it was worth the extra money. Also, their web site on Hotels.com listed shuttle service which they didn't have, although to their credit, they found me a shuttle service, although in the end I chose to take a car to the airport.
Everything was excellent. Staff are very helpful & facilities great. The location is superb, close to Louvre, Pont Neuf and Metro but very quiet in rooms.
Extreme helpfulness of most staff. Reference to 'Hot breakfast' Abscence of coffee/tea facilities in room (Neither of these important).
Compact hotel with attentive staff. Space at a premium but efficiently designed with modern baths.
The friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. They also spoke excellent English. Brilliant location for the Louvre.
Location Breakfasts is very poor. Staff in bufett one of the shifts is rude staff
Small, clean, kind service, central Better acces to internet and printeracess
fantastic location and friendliness of desk staff the mini elevator, but I think this is common thoughout hotels in France
Excellent Rooms, excellent location
the location was good to get to marais and to st germain as well as of course the louvre so easy. room was quiet, clean large enough in paris terms. so was happy and will stay again. that breakfast is extra. but that is typical of france. also dont like that you have to take your bags by yourself. im too old for that nonsense.
Good position of hotel and friendly and helpful staff Small room therefore lack of space especially drawer space
very convenient location. Very helpful staff breakfast far too expensive you can buy it better around the corner for less than half the price. A facility for coffee in reception, complementary, would be most welcome. Even my local garage does that,
The lobby was very nice. The rooms were nicely decorated and very clean. Its in a nice part of town in the Japanese area but close to the Louvre, St Honore and the Opera. The rooms were so tiny. We upgraded to a deluxe room but it was still small. They made the most of the space and it was nicely laid out but the size made it not luxurious, Also it would have been a nice touch to offer free use of the internet in the lobby like many hotels, instead of having to purchase a card.
It is right in the middle of Paris. It is beautifully decorated and of high quality. The staff are very efficient. My husband and I have stayed there many times. We love it.
Perfect location in a quiet street; abundant choice of restaurants, brasseries, cafe's of all kinds: from "little Tokyo" around the corner to Michelin star restaurants. Fortunately I am not that tall (1,76m); but otherwise....taking a shower would have be a problem. My room, to put it mildly, wasn't quiet spatious, even for Paris standards.
Viviane and Delphine at the front desk were most helpful and friendly
Location was amazing. Palais Garnier, Palais Royale, Louvre, Rue Saint-Honore were all just minutes away. Metro (Pyramides) was just at the end of the road. Staff was also very friendly and helpful. Room was very clean. Walls are a little thin. Could hear next door's TV and another woman's rather loud nighttime escapades.
Location is excellent, staff is great, room size is a little small but nice Nothing
very quaint - freindly staff
The excellent location and pleasant, helpful staff.
Convenient location No internet--had to walk about 6 blocks for an internet cafe
The ambient and style, great position
Staff at the reception were remarkably friendly and helpful. The location is just excellent. Bathroom was nice and clean. Rooms are small and the air conditioning was not working properly allegedly due to the seasonal transition (change from central heating to central air conditioning). Instead of having breakfast at the hotel, it's a good idea to take advantage of the hotel's location and walk to any of the near by cafes, with tables on the sidewalk.
Bed is comfy. No kettle in room.
central location was best thing about hotel staff were very pleasant and helpful not really availability of terrace could have been made clearer
location in the heart of Paris, in a quiet street, could have been worse price a bit high, no tea or coffee facilities in the room, room a little small
The mood and the location is great. no
Everything about the hotel (location, room, staff, cleanliness) is recommended, with the exception of the breakfast. The breakfast consisted of a piece of ham, a roll and a few (not very fresh) pastries - not worth 13 Euros each
A half bottle of wine was offered in the room (not the finest wine of course but a nice touch) The first room I was given couldn't be locked -a problem with the electric door lock system. This was addressed promptly and I was given another room but this should have come to the attention of the staff before allocating the room.
i'm satisfied with the hotel..the location was very convenient. supermarket..coffe shops and bars..very close and at a waliking distance from the louvre museum...and the opera.
Location. Very small rooms.
trendy hotel in the heart of Paris
Good location especially if you want to have Japanese food in Europe. Good enough but maintenance of room facility (bath room etc.) was not good enough and shared corridor or elevator is not big enough and corridor was dark and pink collored light...
Very friendly hotel staff.
Very nice design, not cool but comfortable. Facilities are fine, bed is excellent (basic for a good stay, but very often overlooked). Videosystem works only for one movie, which you then can view for 12 hours..? Design error in shower: door and showerhead where in a constant battle, one is going to break sooner or later. A bit more room to place toiletries would have been practical.
close to everything
Didn't expect to fall in love with this place but I did so much, I came back after staying elsewhere a few days. My first room had an unconventional but clever bathroom layout; the second a more traditional setup, but in both cases the rooms were thoughtfully planned and well-appointed. If you don't mind an unusual layout, ask for a view of the Eglise Saint Roch directly abutting the hotel, throw open your big casement windows and enjoy the Parisian dream. I'm a seasoned Paris visitor and I even I couldn't help loving it, cliche or no.
I liked the Quirky design of the hotel the staff were all very nice and helpful. Found the rooms a bit small. Yes. When I arrived I found serious roads works going on directly in front of the hotel which were extremely noisy in the mornings(on the pavement immediately outside the hotel ) and I do feel that the hotel should tell you this in advance
The location was excellent and the room was very nice. We liked the balcony and laarge bathroom. Staff was quite helpful. breakfast not very good for the cost.
The place was very clean and cosy, we have really been surprised by the quality of the service. Location is perferct for a city trip
hotel location, staff behaviour
Location and friendly staff
The location is fabulous right next to the Louvre, Eiffel tower, and the latin quarter as well as plenty of high end shopping areas. the lift is a bit small and breakfast was a little pricey but with so many cafes and restaurants around that was not really an issue
The location was great--right near the Jardin de Tuilerie and with easy access to a boulangerie, a coffee shop, a grocery store, the metro, and parking. Did not particularly like dealing with one of the three desk clerks encountered.
Location was superb. Room was large by Paris standards. Staff were very friendly. Breakfast was a little boring and quite expensive.
The hotel is conveniently located near the Louvre with ready acccess to tour excursion buses and within walking distance of key toursit sites.
Great location, clean rooms , very polite staff. The room and the furniture could use a bit of renovation
We stayed in a room on the 6th floor which was (by Paris standards) rather big. The bed (double) could have been bigger. Location of the hotel is really superbe as it is situated within walking distance of Le Louvre and Place de la Concorde. Underground parking nearby (Parking "Les Pyramides"). Very friendly staff !
