location small room
Really liked the fact they had king size beds. Our room was clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful.
We liked the location and the Staff were very helpful. The staff did everything they said they would do and we appreciated their positivity and quick response concerning the bed.. The bathroom was too small for 2 people. The mattress had to be turned or replaced( not sure which one) because it had dips on both sides. The restaurant was over priced. The one dinner we had was very good and the presentation was beautiful, however, for 2 vodka tonics with absolute vodka cost 34 euro and the lobster salad, while beautifully presented, was 19 euro for 2 small claws and some greens.
The room and the bed was very comfortable. Good location, walking distance to most sights and shopping/restaurants.
The staff was excellent, curteous and attentive. The hotel was clean and the room was frequently serviced. The room had a lovely terrace. We received a courtesy champagne for my wife's birthday - nice surprise. The room, although called luxury was rather adequate in size and in an unusual shape. The TV (both quality and content) needs upgrading.
the location of the hotel and quality of its staff and facilities were ideal for our city break
Great location, close walking to pedestrian mall. Clean hotel and friendly staff.
The location is great and the staff were very helpful and always friendly.
Overall great hotel Non smoking room smelled like cigarettes
Staff was very efficient and Jose, at check-in desk was extremely helpful. I would recommend the hotel to our friends and when I return will book there. Quiet and very relaxing. His recommendations for dining, which we followed, showed me that he listened to what we liked and the recommendation was exactly as we expected. I did not read guest reviews so I cannot comment on that question
Wonderful hotel! everyone was so friendly and the room was a good size. The front desk was so helpful with anything that you needed. Also, it was right in front of the Agenda train station, making it super convenient to come and go to the airport but I didn't even use the train station to travel around downtown Lisbon or Alfama as everything was within walking distance!
The location is perfect. The rooms are small though i have booked a superior double room.
Service, room quality, location. Room and work area lighting very poor
Hotel was no more than 15 walking minutes from where all the restaurants and bars were located. There were even great options a block away.
very helpful staff, very convienient location
spacious room, very comfortable bed, very quiet --> modern room, excellent for a city break shower didn't meet 5* standards --> low water pressure
Great value for money,as it is newly opened we got a great rate, good location, very modern and clean. The best pillows I have ever slept on
* the staff , the location, the service and its comfortable. nothing
The food is good. The free internet is a sham, the coverage is too week. disconnects every 3 minutes at best.
The staff was amazing! They were very friendly, spoke English very well, and would do anything to help you. The only thing I didn't like was the opaque glass door opening to the bed; not as much privacy, and the light would shine right on the bed.
-good internet connection -excellent bed and pillows -location is nice -the breakfast workers are very helpful and friendly -fast checkin/checkout -this is not a 5 stars but a 4 stars hotel with good quality -the breakfast is fine but not much options -my room had only a small window (8th floor)
Friendly staff, convenience and proximity to town centre, free internet. Smelling towels on two days.
excellent and formidable, friendly staff, spotless clean rooms, excellent location and facilities none
the hotel equipement is quite old.
The Hotel was in a very convenient position for our 3 day sight seeing tour of Lisbon and the indoor swimming pool was of good size and warm The main dining room was closed and you only had the choice of the expensive roof top one or the coffee bar, although this was better than expected
The personnel was friendly. I could have a late check-out. The location of the hotel is good, not far from subway, and actually not far from the center.
I ended up at the Altis after a very long day of travel and a disastrous Airbnb experience left me and my friends without a place to stay. Desperate, we found the Altis on Kayak with a 5-star rating and were willing to put a little extra money in given how nice the place looked in the app. Unfortunately, this ended up being a terrible experience. The staff was extremely slow and unhelpful, making us wait a very long time to get to our rooms after a very long day. Moreover, the rooms bore absolutely no resemblance to the photos we saw on the app - they were outdated, dingy, and dirty. There were hairs in our showers, and the floors were stained. The bed was extremely uncomfortable. The wifi didn't work, coming in and out every few minutes. In fact, we ended our stay early given how bad the conditions were - though it took ages to do so at reception. There is no way this hotel is 5 stars and it should not be advertised as such. Personally, I would like for the hotel to compensate me in some way for such a misleading and poor experience.
The best was location of the hotel. I liked buzness center of the hotel as well I think it is not 5 star
It is a fifne Hotel, we liked almost everything, but especially the kindness of the employees We have been ignored at the D. Fernando restaurant. I wonder if it has been due to a football game with Benfica. We dicided not to go there anymore
place of hotel was very good may be triple room could be better
its not worth 5 stars
good location and nice service
Information and booking assistance service, swimming pool, facilities in general Room service, No view from the room which was dark
Very nice hotel in an excellent location
Location, overall ambiance relative to value hard bed and pillow
Very nice hotel near city center.A little bit on hill, but all Lisabon is on hills. In this time of year with super price (not expensive).
Proximity to the centre and to the Botanical Gardens; fairly quiet neighbourhood; price; friendliness. First class breakfast! There should be a pad to note down consumption from the minibar. Difficult to remember at the end of the week
Apart from the above, breakfast was excellent, Staff very friendly and helpful. Batthroom modern, beds very comfortable. Air conditioning very good. Plasma screen T.V. in room. The welcoming drink was a nice touch. Rooms could have had a mirror over and above the one in the bathroom
location and freindly reception ( we were tied and irritable when we arrived and they were very kind )
Location is good though there is a short distance to metro, Others are OK. Room is too samll, there is a big wall outside the window, so nothing can be seen from this room, in that case 50 euro per night (no breakfast) is not cheap.
Very friendly and helpful staff, exellent breakfast, good location for restaurants and services. Not on our few days
They provide really great service.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Welcome drink was nice. Free wifi was great until Greve Geral (a general strike) took it out. Good shower. Laundromat just around the corner. Not a bad location, about 20 minutes walk to the centre of town. Couple of nice restuarants just down the hill, not to mention the guy in the pizza parlour and the guys in the pastelleria just off the edge of the park (their pasteis de nata were great). Smaller single beds were a bit narrow. The walk up the hill might put some people off. Also parking is at a premium so if you need parking beware it might not be easy.
Most of the staff was very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was good but could use some diversity between days. The bed was small and will not fit average height people. My partner is 5' 10" and he was touching the board at the bottom of the bed. The doors to the rooms are so thin you can hear people talking on the hallway and other rooms. That was the most annoying feature of the room.
The two room suite was beautiful and comfortable. European beds are harder than Americans are used to, but this one was comfortable. Very steep downhill walk to main streets.
Helpful staff, wonderful room, enjoyed everything, especially the view. Tough climb up that hill!
I was able to book a fantastic room on very short notice. Wish I'd spent more of my trip there.
Our room had an excellent view. It was clean and comfortable. The staff were amiable and very helpful. Breakfast was good but the staff were a little over-worked when the breakfast room was full.
a very comfortable room internet gratis good breakfast
The staff were very helpful, gave us a room upgrade. Great views over the city, yet the hotel was tucked away in a pleasant quiet corner of the city.
This was a superb experience - very easy to find a hotel and I ended up with an excellent hotel at what I consider very good value. The facilities were nice, the hotel staff really friendly. I cannot fault them for one thing. Not a thing
our room was big and beautiful. the service of breakfast was excellent. hotel staff was helpful. our stay was very relaxing and comfortable. maybe the pressure of shower was not enough. but it didn't matter so much.
This hotel is in an excellent location, as regards being central - but it is located in a run-down street with extensive graffitti, making for a poor initial impression. The double room we were given overlooked the street, on the 4th floor, and was clean and comfortable. The bed was of satisfactory comfort level, if a little firm. The bathroom was of good size and contained a bath, a shower (over the bath), and a toilet. Like many European hotel bathrooms, it is relatively poorly ventilated, and needs an extractor fan. The staff were excellent, and any new staff were being trained well by the existing staff. The inclusive breakfast was delivered to us after ordering it, restaurant-style, and it was a very good quality breakfast. The bathroom needs improved ventilation. The street is very steep, and could be a difficult traverse for those with walking restrictions. The street is very well-used, with a surprisingly-high traffic level for such an old narrow street. The taxis seem to use it as a major route, and they really speed through it, making it quite a noisy street.
Amazingly helpful and cheerful staff. Small boutique hotel with spacious rooms, wonderful breakfast and free internet that worked! Good location for our city break - don't be put off by the surrounding area.
The comfort of the hotel
I like the style of the hotel..felt like a princess:) while checking-out - we had not change - only big note. (and no credit card) the man at the reception did not accually cared. we occasionally found the money we needed - in other case we would look for a change of money somewhere in the centre of city and we'll be late for a flight
dirty and small room
Excellent location, clean room, comfy bed, spacy room for single person. No shower attachement, noisy when people outside door, not as quaint as expected, added charges after checked out
Excellent location, nice-looking building, helpful staff - maid did a great job Extremely small room, bathroom squeezed into 1.5 square meters: 20 cm between toilet and shower curtain - very annoying; beware of room number 208!
The excellent location.
Nice traditional hotel in a good location, did not feel 'chainy' Dissapointed that I could not use the beautiful staircase and had to go by lift instead
Location price room Horrible coffee poor breakfast quality
Location Bathroom smelled like a sewer and had to sleep with windows open due to smell. Room was dark due to lack of true outside window. Lots of hair on the floor of the bathroom. Shower malfunctioned and water squirted all over the bathroom. Furniture was worn; ancient television.
Very good location. Quite clean rooms The staff at the reception never said even "hello"
The fact that nothing was too much trouble to the staff.Very efficiant The restaurant staff were also excellant i will definately stay there again soon
we were put in tivoli hotel at arrival of hotel the breakfast was average it would have been very good but the hot dishes were mainly warm and tea was not good
Close to town
Helpfulness of all staff - reception, porters, etc. Good hot water for showers.
Well located, good sized rooms, very friendly staff, excellent value.
The interior of the hotel was new and fashion. The bed was really comfortable and the hotel staffs were friendly. Breakfast was good with nice atmosphere.
free upgrade to superior room and central location
Excellent selection at breakfast. Pleasant temperature in rooms. Plenty of hot water. The hot water at breakfast needs to be boiling to make tea properly. It would be nicer to provide teapots at breakfast. This would also avoid wastage as you wouldn't need to use individual teabags for each cup. We were only left 2 tiny cartons of milk every day. I like to make a drink when I wake up and have another one when I come in after sightseeing all day. Tea/coffee was not always replenished daily. Reception staff were very friendly. Breakfast staff always seemed miserable.
location very easy to get subway or bus. Very good breakfast and very nice people in the front desk.
As a newly refurbushed hotel very comfortable and modern
Staff No wifi
Great central location in a safe district of the city, helpful staff and well-priced low-season deal.
it was quiet a small thing but the remote control did not work and they could not fix it.
Very central to train and restaurants, very good breakfast facility. Very helpful multilingual staff
Very good location, right in hot spot for food, activities (shopping, restaurantes and night life). Architecture, plazas and museums. No complaints, however be prepared for smallish room. Otherwise great.
the room is next to the lobby so it's a little noisy
Location, helpful service and high maintenance standards, including cleanliness and efficiency of plumbing, supply of hot water etc. Lack of tea/coffee making facilities in the room. Bottled water available from vending machine in reception (as were other drinks) but expensive - $1.50 for small bottle of water.
The location One room did not have a real look through window but only frosted glass
very good location and always helpful staff
Location. Cleanness. Noise.
A nice, simple hotel, on a tree-lined avenue, with an obliging staff. Very close to the metro and bus stops, so access to different parts of the city is facilitated. Not expensive.
staff and cleanness of the room, breakfast
Great location. Great staff. Very nice breakfast
Centrally located, near Metro, friendly helpful staff, clean, comfortable, well appointed. Everything we could ask for.
kindliness and amability of the staff the plumbing inst. and A.C. inst
Good breakfast, silent room Had to pay for Internet
Staff was very kind and helpful. Room was too small and too old for the four star hotel
Location, breakfast. People noise after mid night, a few staffs were lack of training to communicate with customers in friendly manner
a nice, clean and friendly hotel in a central location. It is easy to find it by car eventhough Lisbon is a difficult city to drive a car in if you don't know it. I was surprised that I had to pay for the carpark.Last time I stayed at the hotel (october 2006) the parking was free.
The location is very good for walking, catch metro. The receptionist are very kind and give to visitor a very usefull information. For recommendation.
Friendly staff. Clean room. Free parking. Good location. No free WiFi in room. Actually only WiFi in restaurant.
Absolutely everything Nothing at all
Very good location, nice furniture, very helpful staff.
Staff were excellent. Friendly and helpful. Location is perfect for Lisbon Rooms not quite up to my expectations.
Great location, friendly staff and nice environment Restaurant menu

Location it's great, very convenient, you can walk to the city Center in less than 10 min, the hotel it's small, but cozy, and very high tech modern, so if you like modern style hotel in a great location, it's your pick. Many restaurants with walking This hotel it's little dark every were, including the room, there are no pool, or spa, gym it's very small, and breakfast could have more choose..

Great price but hotel is definitely not a ***** star Staff on the other hand were deserving of a 5 star rating from the moment we walked in to check out. Yes, I would recommend this hotel if the price were compatible to a 4 star.
The location Yes...way too dark. The walls are painted black and halls are very dark. The bathroom layout is a bit weird with no counter space for makeup/toiletries and no hairdryer in the room.
Beautiful hotel. Amazing staff. Clean, quiet room. Comfy bed. Big shower. Metro station right outside. Main train station is a 5 min walk south. In the center of the best neighbourhoods and best sites outside of Belem. Amazing! Can't wait to visit again! The breakfast is absolutely terrible! Do not waste your money! A very short and pleasant walk in either direction (north or south) will lead you to an excellent bakery serving superior coffees/drinks and food at unbelievably low prices.
Perfect location, excellent cusine. Excellent service
This was a comfortable and friendly hotel. Ideal for exploring Lisbon, although we had a good room rate all extras were quite expensive for a family budget. Pool lovely but not very big. More for adults than kids.
Exceptionally helpful staff. When a family room is listed as two "adjoining" rooms, they should actually be connected. We have young children and cannot put them in a room by themselves. Fortunately the staff were wonderful and got us in a different room where the children could actually reach us if needed.
My husband and I stayed here on the last day of our honeymoon and it was lovely. The room we stayed in was on the smaller side but by no means cramped and very clean, done in a beautiful light blue, light green, and white palette. The lobby is spacious with lovely green tile. The staff was very friendly and helped suggest an affordable local restaurant nearby, which was delicious. We didn't have a chance to go in the pool, but the staff let us in to look at it after it had closed, which was very nice. It looked very lovely as well. We didn't have a lot of money to spend and found a great deal and were treated very well by the staff. The view on our room (one of the cheapest ones) did not have a good view, but I guess that is to be expected (it looked out over some flat rooftops with astroturf). One small thing, when we went out during the day my husband was dressed in a t-shirt and jeans and one the doormen sort of implied that he was looking for the wrong building, but it wasn't overtly rude, he just tried to stop him and ask if he could help direct him before he went in the door.
The hotel location is fantastic. You can walk almost anywhere in the city and there is easy access to public transportation. The buffet breakfast was exceptional. This hotel is a five star rated hotel but the service falls short of 5 star. Check in and check out took a very long time and the staff seemed to be a little stressed. Perhaps they were short handed.
Nice personnel, good location and great bed Noisy room due to some motor or airconditining compresor above our room. Never choose room 725.
The hotel was lovely and the concierge,Rachel, was wonderful She helped us put together a private tour with a driver, Abel. He showed us Sintra as well as many important sites in Lisbon. She also helped us with all of our questions and seemed really interesed in us. The hotel itself is quite lovely and the view from the 9th floor is amazing Our price, thanks you, was wonderful. Although I checked in on line a day before arrival, our room was not ready. When they gave us a key, someone was in the room. Finally when we finally got in the room, it was not the twin beds I had requested. The last full day we were there, we came back to find a key in the electric switch. This hotel is very careless about keys. Prices for breakfast in the hotel were ridiculous.
Atmosphere of the hotel being repeatedly asked for my room number at breakfast for no apparent reason
When we (group of six people) book with paid in full and check in to hotel, we DID NOT know that we have to pay the taxes 2 euros per day and the person help to check in did not mention that either. After we signed our name on the card which we DID NOT see the taxes 2 euros per day on the card, but when we check out someone put that taxes 2 euros per day on the card afterward. THAT IS NOT RIGHT. IT IS THE MATTER OF PRINCIPLE. They can put any amount on the card after we signed. We REFUSED to pay the taxes. I hope that the hotel do not charge us.
Central location , close to public transport/restaurants etc. were able to accommodate a family of four , well presented hotel and staff , good room service , There are only two things that were not good , the bed was hard and the pillows flat , and the front desk needs to have a little more info on day trips outside lisbon - out to the coast - surfing - sailing .
Clean and location Staff is ok, but the so called lady executive mgr was not friendly and not try to solve problems. She did not try to make a six dollar error on a 3 nite stay. She said that mistake had to make by their executive DIRECTOR . That six dollar had to charge when we check out( they did not tell us when we checked in. And our was a PREPAID stay). The washing sink basin was made of kind of soft pastic( in a 4, 5 star hotel ??).
very clean as it seems to be refurbished recently. the staffs were also very friendly and always smiling. probably the indoor swimming pool is too small and difficulty to say a swimming pool.
clean room, friendly staff! no iron or ironing board available when the guest manual clearly states one can be provided.
Very comfortable rooms, good location. At 99 eur per night, it was a value... with some caveats (below). When I arrived at 7pm and asked for an iron, I was told that they don't have any irons and the laundry was closed. I had a 9am meeting, and the laundry didn't open till 9am, so I wore a severely wrinkled shirt for the whole day. When I left two other shirts for the laundry in the morning, and asked to have them that night (because again, I had a meeting before the laundry opened) I was charged the express fee - and they ironing job was poor. I hate to complain about such a thing, but I was baffled that a "five star" hotel didn't have such amenities. I was equally disappointed by their fitness room, and the slow internet. As it stands, this is not a great hotel for business travel.
Modern hotel , nice spa area Not very clean ; small rooms different from the pictures on site, the bathroom is practically in the room
as mentioned above, the staff was excellent. especially the bartender/waiter in the restaurant was outstanding noise from the room above
Location and the friendly staff.
the reception staff were very friendly and helpful and spoke good english no
easy quick access to center of lisbon, comfortable rooms, good pool on , good breakfast, friendly staff design and interior, Tv size and channels
location, breakfast, room size staff were not really smilling a lot
The friendly staff, excellent breakfast, good beds and the swimming pool.
The location, the late check out without being a problem for the Hotel, room service The pillows were not that confortable
Good location in center of city, nice rooms, good breakfast
Staff does not have eye for details and is not very helpfull (for instance in buying train tckets)
The location was good and the double glazing made the hotel quiet despite the cental location. Breakfast was varied and well presented. A very poor example of the usually very good NH hotels chain. Furnishings looked shabby, carpets in the corridors were wrinkled and stained. The layout of the rooms is odd - the first thing to greet you as you walk through the door is a depressing mini kitchen with nothing in it - and in our case only one cup! The work table in the sitting room has no plugs near it. Lighting is dim and as most of the rooms look out to internal corridors this makes them very gloomy. The receptionists are efficient but remote and unsmiling - althought the rest of the staff on our visit were friendly and helpful. Having to pay for internet connection (after 1st 15minutes during your visit) is poor on a business hotel of this grading.
