Pros: Stayed over New Years weekend 2018. Very good location near NYE festivities, many local points of interest, and a metro stop with easy transfer to pretty much anywhere, including the airport. This was fortunate because there were a lot of street closures for pedestrian traffic in the area during this time. The room was very comfortable, the breakfasts were tasty and the hotel had an onsite 24 hr bar and room service “snacks and beverages” menu, which came in very handy for a couple of night owls like ourselves.

Cons: We had an issue with the bathroom door. The mechanism was broken and so one of us got locked into the bathroom. Maintenance was on sight immediately and was prompt about fixing the situation.

Cons: It was difficult to organize a pickup from the airport, which was understandable given the holiday and our arrival times but this was not mentioned prior. I emailed my request the day before arrival and was not sent any communication letting me know whether my request was even received (it had been, it just wasn’t fulfilled). This just made for a less than positive first impression. An email back saying this wouldn’t be possible, while presenting my other transportation options, would have gone a very long way. Especially if I had received it while I was still coherent prior to my transatlantic flight! After this first hiccup, everything was smooth sailing for the remainder of the trip.

Cons: The possibility to take the taxi to the airport for 18 euro is rip-off. We asked the hotel if 18 euro is the regular price for this trip or not and we were told that this fixed price is absolutely the normal price. So we trusted in the judgement and paid more than twice as much as it would have cost according to the taximeter! That was really a pity because we really enjoyed the stay but in the end we felt a little bit cheated.

Cons: I think the less positive point will be parking if you go by car. It can be tricky because you cannot stop at the place due to being in a private neighborhood. And Parks around can become full and need to park far away.

Breakfast had great cheeses, cold cuts, different kinds of cereal and granola, fruits, yoghurt. Eggs were made to each guest's specifications. Room had really high ceilings and tasteful decoration. The large living area made returning to the hotel a delight. The location was extremely convenient. Walkable to many destinations, like Chiado and Principe Real and close to metro.

Cons: Echoey building, meant was quite noisy from fellow stayers at the guest house and street outside, could hear everything even with windows closed. Also requested 2 single beds but got 1 double and staying with my dad resulted in sleeping on the sofa.

Cons: Rooms noise isolation is not very great, you can hear a lot others (water, walking, talking, coffee machine). So if this is an issue for you (not much for me) you should be aware of it.

Pros: The location of the hotel is amazing, it is just a 5-minute walk to the Praça do Comércio and right across the street from a metro/bus/tram station. The hotel itself is very nice, lovely decorated, with spacious, clean rooms. The staff is one of the friendliest and most welcoming I have ever encountered. They let us use the shower and common rooms after check out and helped us in every way imaginable. We loved our stay at this hotel and could not recommend it more!

Pros: The location of the hotel is amazing, it is just a 5-minute walk to the Praça do Comércio and right across the street from a metro/bus/tram station. The hotel itself is very nice, lovely decorated, with spacious, clean rooms. The staff is one of the friendliest and most welcoming I have ever encountered. They let us use the shower and common rooms after check out and helped us in every way imaginable. We loved our stay at this hotel and could not recommend it more!

Pros: This place was everything I could have hoped for and more! After reading all of the rave reviews I had high expectations and this place was absolutely perfect. The rooms are spacious, beautifully decorated and it feels wonderful to have a villa in the middle of the mountains. Had a very peaceful time here and would highly recommend to anyone visiting Portugal, I would definitely go back! The owners and staff were extremely kind and accommodating, even taking in our dietary restrictions when making breakfast. This place honestly has the best croissants in all of Europe. My entire family can't stop thinking about them.

Cons: My special request was to have a room on an upper floor level with nice city/street view. Finally, my room was located on the ground floor. However, the view on the street was good enough. I was informed that I have paid (upon booking) the amount of € 64,86 (offer). However, when I checked-in I was informed by the staff that the total payment was approx. € 71. I am not sure if this problem is related to to the hotel management.

Cons: Please change those pillows... they're absolutely uncomfortable and since I know I'm paying for the location and at least a good night's sleep, the pillows are an absolute must. Otherwise it defeats the scope to use this guesthouse for the location and just sleep. They gave us extra pillows when we requested them.

Cons: I am reluctant to give a negative review but as the guest house has not replied to my email, here goes. On the 4th floor yet again. A male guest managed to gain access into my room in the middle of the night. He used my private bathroom twice and then persistently banged on my door for 10 minutes. I was very ftightened. My question is how in earth did he get in and why did he think he had access to my bathroom. Cold water would not turn on in the shower, so to avoid burning myself had to skip having a shower in the morning before leaving. Advice. Take an uber and get dropped off at the door. Very difficult to find on foot.

Cons: our room was on the 4th floor (in the roof basically) so window was about 10' up in the air and only a view of the sky above - consequently room was dark and had no view - our friends however had a room on 2nd floor with huge double windows opening onto the street which was much brighter
