With a population of 287,217, Hue is the largest city in Thua Thien-Hue, Vietnam by the number of inhabitants. It is one of the most popular cities to visit in the country. We recommend you stay at least 6 days in order to fully appreciate everything Hue has to offer.
When to visit Hue
Looking for warm weather? Then head to Hue in June, when the average temperature is 29 °C, and the highest can go up to 34 °C. The coldest month, on the other hand, is January, when it can get as cold as 17 °C, with an average temperature of 20 °C. You’re likely to see more rain in October, when precipitation is around 680 mm. In contrast, July is usually the driest month of the year in Hue, with an average rainfall of 50 mm.
How to Get to Hue
Plane
When flying to Hue, you’ll arrive at Hue Phu Bai (HUI), which is located 13 km from the city centre. The shortest flight to Hue from Malaysia departs from Kuala Lumpur and takes around 8h 15m.
Train
The train station in Hue is called Hue Hue Railway Station, and is located 1.9 km from the city centre.
Bus
Bus operates bus routes to Hue. The most popular bus station is Hue An Phu - Hue - Phu Hoi, located 0.9 km from the city centre of Hue. Hue Hung Thanh - Hue - Xuan Phu is also a commonly used station, and is 0.8 km from the city centre.
