the bathtub, room service was prompt
Hotel staff was very helpful Location is a bit remote to all main sightseeings
manager was very helpful in resolving difference in price between booking.com price and price on arrival
The beds. The fitness room. It was soooooo hot and there was no way to adjust the temperature.
Really good value - clean freindly and a really good safe location. I would recommend as on a direct straight road to white house. Bar good and freindly atmosphere with varied clientele watching Tv.. I felt comfortable having a beer alone there as my daughter was out - I would not do this at home. Staff gave good advice and hailed cab for us etc. No-
Rooftop pool, baggage storage service, polite and efficient staff, central location
I'm upset that I can not get a refund!! I had to cancel my reservation due to a flight cancelation.
Location was okay underwhelmed by room, asked for one kings bed but got 2 small double beds. No late night dining.
staff friendliness and professionalism were great, especially night staff at reception. Found one of the staff at the gift store gave incorrect info regarding tour pick up times, but we got the correct info from the person who was there the next day.
nothing special at the hotel . it runs but nothing special to come back . np
I was charged for breakfast although it was included in the cost the room
It was clean and looks nice from the outside They charge you for parking and they don't tell you. They tell you to come down for breakfast when you have to pay for breakfast after they say it's complementary.
Everything Air in restroom
Nice area, rooftop is nice, awesome beds. Bathroom door did not shut.
The King Junior Suite was really large and very comfortable for the few days we stayed there. The front desk staff were very knowledgable of the area and very efficient with check in/check out. The bathroom amenities were great and you could get anything else you might have forgotten from the front desk. They also had complimentary wine from 5pm-6pm! The location was also really fantastic in which you were about a mile away from most of the sites so it is a quick walk or Uber. The rooftop patio is also incredible! I highly recommend this hotel!
Room was beautiful and luxury . I love the details The staff were sucks . We stayed 5 hours at the lobby waiting our room . They told us we are sold out and don't have any available rooms . While we are booked our room 30 days before our booking date . After 5 hours they told us : we just received your payment you can take a room .
Loved the modern feel and decor
Remarkable graciousness of all staff, well-appointed room. Overreach and missteps on the part of front desk staff; check-in was bumpy and dragged on.
The room was wonderful and the staff was amazing. Booked this room through Kayak and specified 2 adults and a child. The room we were given only had a king size bed. The staff was able to change our room to accommodate a family of three during spring break.
Location is ideal for us, and the property is truly pet-friendly: no crazy fee and lots of pet amenities offered (bowls and treats and such). We don't really need that stuff but it's nice to feel that your pet is actually welcome, not just tolerated. Our room was clean, bed was super comfy, and the staff were all very kind and professional. This hotel has a funky rock-n-roll themed decor, which I enjoyed buy my BF found a little too kitschy.
I love that this hotel is in a quiet residential area but just a few minutes walk from so much! The staff were pleasant even though they were completely swamped- Sunday check out time. If I ever need to come to Logan Circle again I'd absolutely use this hotel. The TV is huge. The shower has excellent pressure and the bathroom is overall beautiful. Completely enjoyed my stay here.
The staff was wonderful. Everyone was super friendly and attentive. The hotel is very unique. I'm a huge fan of boutique, non-corporate hotels and this fits that category. The location was great near many restaurants bars and shops. I would definitely stay at a kimpton hotel again! You could definitely tell the hotel was older. Wallpaper was peeling in the hallways.
Hotel Helix is a fantastic stay all around. Great staff, rooms with personality, great location. Minor complaint: my sink in room 501 had a ring of crud around the rim and the faucet just looked worn. Not a huge deal, but generally Kimpton has higher standards
Exceeded expectations in all aspects. No cons
The staff was very helpful and courteous. The room was comfortable and well-appointed. I really appreciated the free wifi. Although the modern decor is nice, it looks like the hotel was done on the cheap. It will be interesting to see if it stays nice for long.
perfect location, very roomy, elegant and quiet. Excellent staff and very courteous. Definitely come back next time i have business in Washington DC. no cons
Nice room to spread out in as a family of three Very clean Prompt valet service Helpful front desk Seemed to be in a cute up and coming neighborhood Slow service at breakfast and dinner
Hotel was very nice and clean. Beds were super comfortable. They said my room would be ready by 3pm. We got there after 5pm and still had to wait for at least 30 minutes for a clean room.
It was clean. Should have been a brochure of services provided
We arrived at the hotel exhausted after midnight. We had a bit of confusions going on our hotel reservation, which has been wrongly made for the day after when it was supposed to be that day. Patrick at concierge was the best in responding our inquiries and correcting the wrong booking information. He was courteous and sympathetic about our situation(our flight has been cancelled last might) and provided us with enough amenities like shampoo and soap. What I liked him about the most was his chill, but courteous and pleasant attitude. Other than that, the room was awesome. couldn't believe that I can book a room like that in the center of DC. Everything was new and clean. I like every single detail.
elegant yet accessible decor-stylishly appointed rooms. welcoming staff and amazing neighborhood location
I like the modern look and the cleanliness. It would have been great to have a free complimentary breakfast in the morning.
I really liked the contemporary feel to the hotel. Very spacious. Kids enjoyed the pool (small). I am not sure how well the room in cleaned daily. We found an old "tissue" underneath the sink when we checked in. Towels were not always replaced even though we put them in an appropriate area. Other than that, fantastic stay. Parking stinks but that is the case everywhere in DC.
The staff were all very friendly and helpful. I would recommend Cambria to anyone and I would definitely stay there again.
The Hotel Rouge is a boutique hotel and while it is a little too hip for my taste in terms of interior design, it is a wonderful and comfortable hotel. I was upgraded to a family room which, although I did not need the added amenities, was very nice. The family room is exceedingly large and includes a small room that has a bunk bed for the kids, a television and a game station. It also has a curtain so that it can be separated off, which I closed. The bed, a king, is very comfortable as are the pillows. There is a couch, work area, large flat panel television and a nice area with drawers and snacks. The bathroom is also generous in space and the bath products are very nice. The service is excellent, the staff pleasant and honest. I highly recommend this hotel for families despite the fact that it is designed more for the young hip crowd.
I liked room decor and setup. location wise, I was right where I needed to be. staff at check out were very nice. my car was towed, which should not have been, & since I was on the way out the valet guy went and got my car for me as I had no idea what to do, where to go and had such a small amount of time to get to my class. staff at check in were extremely rude.
Great location and excellent accommodations. All for a reasonable price.
Great location, very pleasant and accomnodating staff. Wi fi was available but for a fee
Room was a good size and had a comfortable bed. Good location for going to the bar and restaurants in the area. TV didn't have that many channels. Parking wasn't free for guests, I ended up paying $67 for one night which is pricey. The maids walked into my room unannounced twice during my one night stay, once while I was sleeping...
Spacious clean room. Nice staff. Decor a bit tacky but a lot of boutique style hotels are like that. Small, cramped and poorly laid out bathroom. Weak water pressure. Very similar to a motel.
Large, comfortable, clean rooms. Very environmentally friendly rooms. Excellent staff. Book it!
Area was good, nice neighborhood. The bed was horribly uncomfortable. The lighting on the floors hallways were dark and dingy. The lighting in room was awful. No fridge or coffeemaker in the room.
Ceramic tile throughout room. No Carpet A lot of door slamming
The location is not far from the landmarks, like White House, Washington Monument, etc. The room is too small. There is no closet for hanging coats.
Got a room for about half the price of other hotels in the area, so can't complain too much. Room and bathroom were clean and comfortable. Plenty of outlets throughout the room. Location is convenient to most things you'd want to do in NW DC, though it is a bit of a hike to the nearest metro. Check in and check out were quick and seamless. Rooms are small and pretty spare--little shelf with a rod functions as a closet. Mine didn't have any hangers, which was a bit annoying. Thin walls made for some...interesting background noise at night. The hotel says wifi works in the lobby only, but I was able to get some (albeit spotty) reception in my room on the 2nd floor.
Good price, nice staff, remodeled bathroom Good value for what we paid for on a cheap budget A long walk from the nearest metro; very old building but I did not mind the simplicity of it
Dirty, cramped rooms. Tub was not properly cleaned and did not drain. Walls were extremely thin - no privacy to neighbor's. Front desk staff was rude. The only good thing was the location. Save your money and book somewhere else.
Locatio is great Hotel is old, rooms are very small, staff is not very friemdly
The bathroom was very clean and brand new tile and fixtures. Clean towels AC Staff was friendly and helpful Closet had extra blanket, iron and hangers. Ice machine. We had it cleaned one day and instead of putting on new sheets they just remade the bed with the dirty sheets. No internet anywhere besides the lobby No fan in the bathrooms so it mugged up the rest of the room for hours No 2nd lock in the door Breakfast wasn't compleenteay, it was at an additional cost of 5 per person. Towels had other hotel names monogrammed on them which made it seemed they were 2nd hand. Room phone didn't work whatsoever tried calling the front desk several times and didn't work. Bed wasn't comfortable it was a stiff mattress.
Friendly staff, nice location, many restaurants and bars/clubs nearby.
Advertisement says that there is wifi in rooms, but there isn't! Only the in lobby.
Nothing Parking terrible with multiple restrictions, not clean, door knob fell off,
It was a beautiful home built in 1890. Still has its old charm. The owners were very sweet, made us feel at home. Hotel employee covered every detail. This location is perfect. About 2 miles from the heart of DC. Uber/lyft about $5-$8 ride even No
This 19th century Victorian style house is absolutely charming. But even more important, the owners go beyond their duties to ensure that you have a wonderful experience in DC and to make you feel home. Wireless internet free. I knew it as it is in the description, but it might be a discomfort to some people, the bathroom is shared. It was very clean and I did not have to wait for anyone to get out, but I can see that it might be an issue at times.
The house was a beautiful combination of old and shabby chic. The rooms are beautifully decorated The breakfast was exactly what was needed to walk out the door with. Parking was good in a church location behind the house The location of the subway system was a little walk away. We did not mind so much however those that are not walkers might not like it so much.
Hotel Employees are very nice. Courteous, and go out of their way to make sure we were satisfied.
The owners were amazingly friendly and wonderful. After a day of delays at airports, these people were welcoming and showed a great side to DC.
Never got our chocolate chip cookies!
I enjoyed our dinner although very pricey, but I expected that from a hotel restaurant . The bed by the window was awfully hard. The other was fine. Our TV didn't work and a maintenance man had to come 2 times and still was not able to fix it. I missed the debate I had plans to watch. I was already in the bed and had to let a repairman in my room twice and he was not able to correct the problem. The faucet in the bathroom was stuck and wouldn't open for cold water. I complained, but who cares, I had already paid. Staff was snotty and impatient.
Good location close to the White House.
Very friendly staff.
I don`t understand a system of payment. On which grounds 30 USD was debited from my banking cart? When 100 USD ("accident pledge") will be returned? My e-mail isn`t answered.
It's clean and well located. A pool would be nice, but for the price, its a fine place to stay.
It was perpect
the location is very good, everything is great (the staff, the lobby, the rooms) no
Good, friendly staff, very nice room, clean facilities. Service at breakfast was slow.
clean rooms, comfortable beds, a+ for the staff. The thing I liked the most was the breakfast. The closest metro station is a bit far. Anyway the city center is at walking distance.
Had an excellent stay at the Doubletree. very clean rooms and friendly international staff. the French toast with bananas is divine. it's close to all the historic sights.
Very nice buffet, unobtrusive and efficient stay. Would use the facility on next trips. Lacks small "essentials" shop sent next store for a newspaper.
Near city center The room smal
The room was clean, the beds were comfortable and the linens were fresh. The rooms are in bad need of remodeling; one of our windows did not fully close and had tape all over to stop the drafts, there was a hole in the wall in the bathroom, the walls and woodwork had wide cracks in them; Still, I would probably stay there again because the other hotels in DC are much more expensive and this one is good enough for someone who is out on business all day anyway.
I liked the relaxed athmosphere. You can tell that all guests are at home, we had a nice chat with other guests at breaskfast. And we loved the location, the hotel is in a quiet street, but really closed to everithing.
We liked everything but, I would like an smoking room!
The bed was decently comfortable. The room was clean and the staff was friendly. The size of the rooms was too small. The television was from the 90's.
Great location, and easy to walk to downtown locations for food and general shopping. Easy access to public bus transportation, and Taxi service. Friendly staff, clean rooms, and "easy on the pocket-book" room rates! One elevator helps with getting to upper level rooms. Parking is a problem! There are "no" vending machines for beverages or snacks. There is "no" bellman on duty, at any time. You are on your own as far as luggage, or special requests. No pool, business room, bar, work-out room, or television in the lobby.
Room I stayed was freezing cold at night there was a window that didn't close.
Their staff are very friendly. The hotel building and lobby is very cozy. Rooms are quite small, breakfast doesn't have much chioce.
Nice base to vist the city. The district has a large choice of markets and restaurants and the metro station is fairly close. The room (1st floor) was too little, one of the two beds was placed right in front of the door with little/no space to get through. The bathroom (except for the shower) was even smaller and extremely unconfortable. The breakfast was completely insufficient (stale croissants!) and the breakfast room was so small we had to seat at a table in the corridor!
The Embassy Inn is nicely located in Dupont Circle. The staff was friendly and professional. We were changed from one room to another because the WiFi was not working. The room was the tiniest hotel room I've ever been to. The furniture in the room was old, and damaged and there was a mirror 6 inches above the bed. When we changed into our second room the toilet was cracked and again the furniture was old and damaged. The WiFi was a bit better nut nothing to brag about.
Rooms are a good size. Linens are clean and fresh. Bed and pillows were comfortable. Carpets and wallpapers are dingy and dated. Couldn't tell if they were dirty or just old.
It was easy to get around town either by taxi or metro Well, there was alot of noise in the neighbourhood... sirens,...etc. I slept well though
Location. Tiny room. Very dusty and old. Tiny bathroom. Old, squeaky bed.
We may have gotten the last available room on the Friday of the Valentines/Presidents Day weekend. Free coffee in the lobby (a lifesaver for me). Twin beds instead of a double, $5 charge for breakfast (which we took a pass on, if I have to pay for it I'll go somewhere else for breakfast), but my major complaint was about the heating system. Our room could be cold or it could be stifling, but there wasn't anything in between.
They did a good job trying to create a unique style for the hotel. Hotel is located in a nice district. No fruits for the breakfast.
Location *only". Too much to write here. Parts of the hotel are not completely inside the hotel. In other words, when it is cold outside (my case), the hotel corridors (and rooms) are freezing. The hotel staff refused to giving me a single blanket and cited "full capacity" (a clear lie) as their excuse. They also refused to provide an itemized receipt at checkout: if you travel for business, you know how bad/outrageous/shocking/problematic this is...
The host were nice and very accommodating. The day of my check out they allowed me to leave my luggage there as I toured the city for the day. Room was just a wee on the warm side, but I managed.
Loved the proximity to DC points if interest and U street. Room was always hot. AC did not work.
Far from the newest hotel on the market, it's welcoming and clean. From the house cat snoozing on the carpet on the stairs or landing, to the big communal breakfast table, it has the character of an older house. Quiet.
the cat needs repairs
The cat, the location, the price The bathroom was set up a bit weird but it functioned fine.
The location in the Dupont area is excellent, and the hotel's rooms decorated in period pieces -- complete with fireplace! -- and a small library-shelf of books gives the hotel a home-feel. Plus a friendly cat to greet you at the reception! I didn't realize until my last day that breakfast was served in the area down the stairs. I had thought that the coffee offered at the reception was the hotel's breakfast.
The outside environment around the Inn was nice The breakfast was advertised for a longer time than it was
Staff was very helpful with finding me a new room.
I liked that it has running water and a tv in the room. The owner was friendly. He was considerate. I didn't like the fact that it charges $80 for one night and you don't even get your own room. I had for different beds in my room and the room was small. The bathroom was a boys shower room with only one show and one toilet. There is nobody to take your bags for you and nobody even cleaned my room or got my bed ready for me before sending me to my room. I walked in and the bed was dirty. The vending machine is all out of snacks and drinks, who knows when the last time they refilled them. It would be a great place for cockroaches.
