Friendly staff, clean and attractive, excellent hotel for the price! Bar closes too early. Minor problems with accessories in room.
Interesting restaurants nearby
The hotel staff were excellent and very helpful with restaurant suggestions and transportation. The room smelled very bad; like a mixture of body odor, Old Spice, and onions. I left the window open all day and it didn't improve.
Most friendly staff I've ever encountered at a hotel.
Rooms were very clean. Beds were comfortable. Very nice outdoor pool with plenty of lounge chairs, an outdoor bar and poolside table for eating. Parking at the hotel was perfect. Bathroom was slightly small but very clean.
Close to attractions Parking
From the moment we stepped out of our rental car the hotel staff was friendly, courteous, and helpful. We had just come in to DC from two days of flying and driving and right away the hotel staff made us feel right at home. They carried our bags, helped us with transportation in DC by pointing us in the right direction, and even gave us apples on our way out for the day. We had never been to DC and have 2 small children and did all the sight seeing we could pack in for 2 days. The location of the hotel was great. One night the weather was great and we all enjoyed the walk through the city back and forth from the Washington Monument. It is quite the walk, so if you are not up for it we also took a cab and used Lyft in which every place only cost about 10.00 to get a ride to and from the hotel. I also feel compelled to mention that maybe it was the look on our faces when we stepped out of our car after the long traveling experince with 2 small kids, but whatever it was they upgraded our room to a balcony! I think her name was Elena that offered the upgrade, and it was very much appreciated!
Microwave access would have been very convenient.
The staff was very freindly, bed's and pillows were very comfortable, breakfast was delicious. Grear location in our Nation's Capital.
I liked the location, the staff was very friendly, and the complimentary water. We had issues with our air conditioning which we told the staff about but nothing was fixed and our room was muggy and damp.
Easy access to Metro, White Hose, Mall, etc. IF you are a walker. Very welcoming, professional and responsive staff. They were happy to change rooms to 2 beds when my son flew in from CA. Great catering staff and food. Clean and comfortable. A little dated and can be very expensive. My on-line rate with tax etc. was a reasonable $180. When I tried to add 1 night, they wanted $479! Needless to say, we went somewhere else.
The hotel staff was great and I liked that they had parking. The room was nice & location was great. Everything about the hotel was great. One of the reasons I liked it was because it was smoke-free however, the room smelt of smoke the last night we stayed and even again in the early morning before we checked out. Not the hotels fault, was just disappointing.
The hotel was very nice and extremely close to all the sites (just blocks from the White House). The room, service, and location were far above what I would expect for the price. Would stay here again and will recommend to anyone visiting the DC area.
The location and comfort here is great! Overall very good value!! The room was a little tight. Room had empty box of tissues, could of been a bit cleaner, dust.
Friendly, attentive staff. Clean rooms and facilities. Location is within walking distance of many places to eat and a short ride from the national mall. Would stay again. Very cold lobby/restaurant/bar area. Thermostat in room kept malfunctioning. The maintenance guy brought us a space heater at one point. Requested shampoo at one point and three different staff people delivered some three separate times. Very friendly, but obviously some lack of communication. Staff was very apologetic about the thermostat and offered us a variety of comps.
Excellent location for much of downtown DC. Around Midnight my room filled with old cigarette smoke as someone began smoking in the stairwell. The air quality overall in my particular room was poor, requiring the windows to be opened as much as possible. This of course made it difficult to sleep as the city sounds in DC near The White House are loud and replete with sirens 24/seven. Normally, one might cover one's ears to have silence. However, at this hotel the pillows are the size for small children.
Staff very helpfil. Close to DC metro and attraction
Proximity to WH
The room was made up in typical Hilton style with decent bedding/bathroom stuff. This hotels has seen better days. One of the elevators was out of service (seemingly for a long time - a piece of tape covering the outside) the button to the elevator was cracked, and the whole thign was worryingly slowly and creaky. The room itself smelled musty - like it hadn't been aired out in years. Outside the window was the HVAC system which was *loud*. It was a crazy-horrible room. My best guess is that because Kayak booked the room through Priceline Hilton felt it was okay to give me the worst room they could find. I checked out immediately and went to another hotel nearby for the same price, but with a much nicer room and hotel in general.
It was right downtown near the white house and monuments, so we could walk everywhere Everything closes down so it's hard to find a late night restaurant or pharmacy
Friendly helpful staff in downtown DC. The air conditioning in the room wasn't very good. It didn't feel like it dropped below 70F while set to 60F in November.
I did not like the fact I had to pay valet for parking or find my own. I feel if I m paying for the comfort of staying out of town then that is something that should be included.
Location The staff (including management) did not respond adequately to their system being down during check in. Problems like that are expected but management did not issue an apology to all guests waiting in line for 30+ minutes and did not show the urgency to find an alternate way to check in all the guests affected by the hotel's system outage.
Within walking distance of tourist sites and great restaurants. Comfortable beds! Hotel bar had great happy hour and the bartender made the perfect old fashioned with love.
I liked the late check out option. The bed was extremely comfortable. The room was very clean. The front desk attempted to charge me for wifi even though my reservation included wifi. They expected me to pay or go out to use the public library in the common areas. After a visit back down to the front desk they provided me with an access code.
Everyone was very helpful & attentive!
Good customer service Very expensive hotel. The movies in the rooms are 20$ each. No HBO or any good channels really. Restaurant in the hotel is outrageously expensive (making room service also very expensive). 10$ for bowl of cereal, 25$ for shorts tack of pancakes. Food is really bad too. Like surprisingly very bad. Soggy fries, Bad salads, sandwiches, pizzas
Overall the property was excellent! A foul order in ventilation system.
Everything exceeded my expectations. The room was clean and the bed was super comfortable. Loved the rainfall shower. The valet fee is overpriced. We were unable to get into our room because our lock needed to be charged. This was an inconvenience.
60 dollars for valet parking no other option
Valet parking was extremely slow and expensive
Very Clean Comfortable beds
I think I got bit... there was something biting
no self-parking. valet parking only. when I tried to do valet parking, they didn't allow me to do it.
The actual hotel was clean and updated, the staff was friendly and helpful. Overall the actual stay was great. Nice little happy hour offered at the bar. Valet parked my car for 1 night, and took it upon themselves to charge $50 to my credit card, plus a $17 convenience fee. No lot in the surrounding area exceeded $25 for overnight parking. I should have parked my own car. I feel that the hotel was nervy and rude to charge us double the going rate for parking - without notifying me. I felt taken advantage of, since we were already paying top dollar for a 1 night stay. The hotel was nice, but not that nice. I stay in DC all the time, but I may not return unless this problem is rectified.
The staff were very friendly and the hotel was beautiful. We'd definitely stay here again!
Location Horribly overpriced
The hotel is a beautiful place with excellent finishes. Everything was in great condition and high quality. The rooms were small, which in understandable given the location, but this was a double bed room so it seemed even smaller.
Comfort of the room Lack of phone service or free wifi.
Excellent service. I ask them if I could make my check in before 3 pm (the official hour) because I was going to arrive at 9 am, and they had my room ready for that hour.
We were in a suite and it was spacious and nicely furnished. Most staff were nice. Great having a Starbucks in the lobby. Nice central location. The bathroom was small, especially the corner sink. There was no counter space. Front desk clerks were hit and miss. Some nice, some not. Concierge staff were great. The breakfast was OK, not great.
The staff Felt a bit hurried to finish our breakfast.
Amaizing service with very friendly staff Beds and pillows were amaizing
A really fabulous hotel, friendly, happy and helpful staff, proud of their hotel and city and keen that you share it Not guite the same for some of the bar staff
incredible suite for the price... they tried to put me in a regular dbl room when I checked in! Reminded them I had booked and been confirmed by their reservations mgr for a suite with 2 dbl beds.
The staff was very freindly and attentive and the hotel itself is beautiful. The fitness center was impressive. There was no wi-fi availbale in our room and we had to pay 13$ per day for internet acess.
The hotel is ideally located in that it is walking distance to the White House and the Washington Monument. The room was also nicely appointed and clean. The staff was very nice and responsive. Service was on par with a 5 star experience. We booked the premier room through Kayak. The room we were give. Was TINY - e.g. distance between dresser and the bed was probably less than 2 feet. If I were a solo traveler, this would not have been a problem. However, with a toddler, this became an immediate safety concern. We upgraded to a deluxe room.
very attentive staff and very positive feeling
It was a clean hotel with nice people. misleading when looking online, it looks bigger than it is. But it wasn't too bad. They do not have complimentary breakfast. It's over priced for what you get.
Rooms needed to be dusted. Mini bar is electronic and not a refrigerator; DO NOT TOUCH or you will be charged.
very helpful concierge. Decent location
good facilities;helpful staff had to request tea/coffee maker and a refrigerator coffee/milk supplies not replenished daily
Good location, helpful staff poor plumbing, below average food and very high cost of room service
My room was very nice and well maintained by the housekeeping staff. The front of house staff were also very cordial. Charging $12.95 per day for internet service is unreasonable, based on the room rate we were charged.
It was so busy/ room service was 30 minutes later
good location, nice staff
Comfortable beds and attentive front desk staff. Some inattention to housekeeping in a room with a Murphy bed.
The location The price
The staff was great and the room was very nice. The breakfast was terrific much better than expected for $1.Ut was a overall great experenice.
The hotel in a very nice location and the room very comfort. they give to me Room No 403 we can't sleep because of the noise of the air-condations from out side. and the hotel staff are not frindly
Service was excellent They changed me an extra 200 dollars when I checked into the hotel, despite prepaying on Kayak
Location. Easy walk to many attractions as well as to my business destination.
The beds. The fitness room. It was soooooo hot and there was no way to adjust the temperature.
Location was okay underwhelmed by room, asked for one kings bed but got 2 small double beds. No late night dining.
Really good value - clean freindly and a really good safe location. I would recommend as on a direct straight road to white house. Bar good and freindly atmosphere with varied clientele watching Tv.. I felt comfortable having a beer alone there as my daughter was out - I would not do this at home. Staff gave good advice and hailed cab for us etc. No-
nothing special at the hotel . it runs but nothing special to come back . np
Rooftop pool, baggage storage service, polite and efficient staff, central location
Hotel staff was very helpful Location is a bit remote to all main sightseeings
manager was very helpful in resolving difference in price between booking.com price and price on arrival
I'm upset that I can not get a refund!! I had to cancel my reservation due to a flight cancelation.
It was clean and looks nice from the outside They charge you for parking and they don't tell you. They tell you to come down for breakfast when you have to pay for breakfast after they say it's complementary.
I was charged for breakfast although it was included in the cost the room
staff friendliness and professionalism were great, especially night staff at reception. Found one of the staff at the gift store gave incorrect info regarding tour pick up times, but we got the correct info from the person who was there the next day.
the bathtub, room service was prompt
Very nice room, clean & well equipped, decent location
The excellent restaurant with good cuisine and fair prizes The parking lot was full all weekend. The signs in front of the hotel weren't clear to us (foreigners): we thought there were no parking restrictions but we got a ticket
Localization Staff do not always react for your requests.
Front desk staff were all very profesionnal and provided great service with smile ! Nice room, bathroom a little bit small. Perfect location. Nice rooftop bar. Poor breakfast. Wifi should be complimentary.
I was able to check in early. There was no hair conditioner or body lotion. Staff repeatedly told me that they would look into a problem and didn't follow up.
Great food and location! wheather was bad but hotel's location is so good and restaurants are good around there. A little dirt below the bed.
Honestly, I was in the hotel just to sleep for one night and Sid not use any facilities or services. Check-in/check-out was a breeze, from desk staff very friendly and efficient, housekeeping staff friendly and accommodating. No gym on premises.
The location, the friendly staff, the price, size of the room. It's an affordable hotel in the heart of the city, it is what is advertised... nothing negative to say
Location Room has a smell, and did not feel clean.
i found a real good offer - 92 dollars a day for a double room
Sufficient for a stay over night.
Decor and bed. As is usually the case in the USA, most staff less than fully competent.
Hip Decor, clean, comfortable.
Very modern and clean facilities. The staff. Location
The hotel was very central to points of interest (for me) ie historical sites, shopping, gay neighborhood. All within walking distance. Fantastically clean. No negatives
Great hotel very poor housekeeping Our room was not cleaned after requesting twice Room was not cleaned till after 8:00pm. At time of check out Valet pulled up our car and it was badly damaged. At time of payment I was charged for parking $35.00 each day After I complained about damage to car I wasn't charged for parking. I paid my bill over $500.00 I asked to see manager and complained about room not being cleaned until after 8
Very nice hotel, good location, staff very helpful.
My wife and I prefer boutique hotels, with heavy emphasis on set and setting. this place creates an environment that transports you from the norm of your life to the fantastical. Highly recommend this hotel! Was very romantic, upgrade to a king studio as we did, or better. Such a magical place! The only comment I would have is to park you car directly across the street from the hotel where the parking is around $20 a day instead of teh hotels $38 dollar valet service.
great room, location, cleanliness no hot shower
I had a big room with a big bed, enjoyed watching TV from the sofa.Overall, I enjoyed the room. Do not serve free breakfast
Very nice hotel and attentive staff. Made us feel very welcome and the decor was very nice. Free champagne at night was a nice touch! Had a room we could keep our bikes in which was nice. No coffee in room, no real desk to work on were my only gripes. Nice big flat screen but no HD TV was a bit of a disappointment (although have been in other hotels with same set up). Not a big deal, though, locale was nice and overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
The King Junior Suite was really large and very comfortable for the few days we stayed there. The front desk staff were very knowledgable of the area and very efficient with check in/check out. The bathroom amenities were great and you could get anything else you might have forgotten from the front desk. They also had complimentary wine from 5pm-6pm! The location was also really fantastic in which you were about a mile away from most of the sites so it is a quick walk or Uber. The rooftop patio is also incredible! I highly recommend this hotel!
I love the the original amenities in the mini bar. At the beginning we didn´t really know what to expect from the whole place due to the whole decoration being so rare and original, but we ended up enjoying it...the atmosphere is a lot of fun. There was no lotion available in the toiletries. The room service hours were kind of limited. There were some really nice people in the staff but some others looked a little annoyed and just too eager to go home.
Good furnishings No parking
Everyone was incredibly friendly. The service was just out of this world.
the decor was very interesting, the staff was very helpful and even went so far as to look up metro delays for us as we sat in horrible traffic. there was a dirty washcloth in the bathtub when we checked in and there was no vending available that i could locate.
Nice area, rooftop is nice, awesome beds. Bathroom door did not shut.
Great hotel. Good position. Good staff. Perfect.
I love that this hotel is in a quiet residential area but just a few minutes walk from so much! The staff were pleasant even though they were completely swamped- Sunday check out time. If I ever need to come to Logan Circle again I'd absolutely use this hotel. The TV is huge. The shower has excellent pressure and the bathroom is overall beautiful. Completely enjoyed my stay here.
I enjoyed the atmosphere. It was definately more social and less like other hotels. It was a great experience.
The location is excellent in the heart of DC, walking distance to many sights. The HVAC unit in my room failed and I was moved to another room, which also had a faulty HVAC unit, so I was moved to a third room. All of this took place at 8pm, which ruined my plans for the evening. The next day, I was a bit disappointed that neither the manager nor anyone on staff reached out to follow up. Generally, I expect more personal service from Hyatt hotels.
Super clean, well laid out room. Quite big for an urban hotel. Everything works well. Well thought out.
Had horrible service from front desk woman and did not get the room I was assured I would the day before. The maid staff was very helpful and friendly as was the man who worked overnight desk. The room was small with barely any windows but very clean and bed was comfortable. Will never stay in this hotel or Hyatt again based on promise of getting a street view room and then getting a room that literally overlooked all the AC units for hotel and no view of street. Also, the room they assigned us was not ready when we were sent up so we had to get shuffled into another with a worse view. The desk clerk was rude about the whole situation and when we inquired about parking right out front because the signs were very confusing she told us to "read the signs". Seriously- as if we hadn't already. Very rude. Our friends stayed too and had poor service from same two woman.
Reservation was not honored!
Location Price for the quality
The room was amazing. The foyer, huge shower, bed and desk were ideal. the hallways were a little darker than I preferred.
The rooms on the back side of the upper floors are quiet, either that, or no one was nearby. The executive king rooms are really big and the desk is nice. The couch is comfy. The sheets and bed are good. Be sure to join the rewards program to avoid the horrible internet and resort fees. There is no coffee or maker in the rooms. I'm not much for the theme and the false eastern cultish idol worship. Avoid the mini bar except the $10 free.
The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. The location wasn't as close to public transportation as I would have liked, but I didn't mind the walk. It was also a short walk to a number of restaurants.
This guest did not leave comments about this hotel.
Like the decor and the flare. There was an animal bed and feeding bowl in my room. I'm allergic to pet dander.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. No coffee/tea in the room. It is offered free downstairs, but who wants to go out in their PJ's for coffee??
The scheme Cleanliness, lack of parking
No your usual chain hotel. big room, friendly staff room key kept getting demagnatized
The staff at this hotel went out of their way to make me feel comfortable. The Unique Vintage Décor was relaxing and homey - not the usual hotel look. The base of the beds stick out too far.
Beautiful hotel in downtown Washington. Easy access to transportation. Room was big and really nice. Wine offered at 5pm in the lobby. Great value for the price of the stay.
Nothing. At check in at 11:30 pm they forgot to program my card to open door.Internet service down. Additional undisclosed fees charged. Tried to 'cram' a $46 parking fee--and if I didn't closely check bill I would have missed it.I did not have a car. See above. The room has dark dingy carpet. I will not stay here again. I am writing Kimpton as well. Not worth the money.
