Location of hotel Quality of service. Even the staff serving the executive club floor were not friendly and helpful. Especially the female staff.
Huge room for hong kong standards. Real (and huge) paintings in the room and corridors. Good location and excellent price. If you have a lot of baggage, the free shuttle to the airport express line ( hong kong station ) can be very convenient (otherwise subway can be faster) Overpriced dinner buffet....but who care about that in hong kong? a city with so many culinary options
The location is the best for shopping and eating The amenities in the bathroom didn't change or add such as bar soap.
My room was very spacious. I did get upgraded but this was much cheaper and just as luxurious as the the grand Hyatt in wan chai. Great location very near the metro and next toVictoria park. Also next to Ding Tai Fung.
Nothing First off we booked for 10/21-23 and my email confirmarion and screen shot of booking all confirmed this. When we went to check in , they told us that booking was for 11/4-6. I showed them the confirmation then they told us we needed to take the issue up with kayak. After arguing for 3 hours(i dont give up) they finally gave us the room. The hotel is NOT a 5 star (1star) and the pictures are MISLEADING. Theoughout the stay the staff was awful. The hotel is also filled with mainlanders which makes it extremely noisy and crowded. Avoid avoid avoid. I couldnt take another day so in the end I booked the shangri-la.
The location is a stone throw away from major shopping malls at Causeway Bay Hong Kong. It has complimentary bus service by Airport Shuttle H2 from Hong Kong station. Room size is good for Hong Kong standard. Gym is in basement 3, not big, but no views, no service staff, but open 24 hrs enter by hotel room key. There is a small pool on 32nd floor roof top with sweeping views. Good thing is via booking.com, you can cancel the booking up to 2 days before the travelling date. You do not pay online and settle the bill directly with the hotel only when you check out of the hotel. The toiletries provided is insufficient and a little stingy. For instance, if previous days toiletries are used partially, chamber maid may not replenish the next day even though you pay for the another day's room night. Quality of shampoo and bath gel is economical and not befitting a 5 star hotel. There is no comb, cotton wool for ladies facial, or cottton buds provided. If you pay for an extra bed, sometimes they forgot to provide 3rd set of towels or complimentary towel. Booking.com does not show the service charge to be imposed which may amount to 10% of room rates quoted. Please budget for that when you settle your bill. It should quote the all in costs to be transparent for travellers.
Reception and check in not very friendly.
ask the staff to fix the bath room , but they never sent staff to fix it . very disppointed.
Hotel a little over-rated and riding a bit off the back of having two of Hong Kongs best restaurants in the same building. Locaion a bit out of the way for most things you might want to see / do. Staff did their best to get me an early check-in as I arrived at 8am. Others arriving just after we less lucky. Location not great but right on the tramline.
Fairly quick check in process (which was also improved since the room was prepaid by booking through Kayak) Easy access via taxi, with a covered drop off/pick up area (great since it rains so much in Hong Kong) 2 complimentary bottles of filtered water Safe in the room didn't work at all, and looked like it had been tampered with Small lobby with a ton of bags left by other guests, with minimal security and the bags out in the open Toilet was chipped and cracked Shower door didn't close fully, and the hot water took forever to come out Overall, pretty shabby decor and facilities for the price paid. I'd recommend Lanson Place Hotel over the Regal for any business travellers.
Good hospitality It was a little difficult to catch a taxi.
Good value for a good location. Great staff and lovely appearance. Kayak's booking didn't go through and caused a delayed check-in.
Very good location. Close to the fair and to mass transport.
Location was good The rooms were smelly. I had a non-smoking room, abd I still could not sleep because of the smell in the room. I asked them to change the room, they did. I found out that the new room was recently renovated. The first room was very old.
location location location. On the first day they put me into a room with broken AC: it was cooling all the time regardless of the setting so my room became freaking cold. When I reported this I was told that they could change my room the next day so I was forced to sleep in this fridge! I caught a cold and couldn't fully enjoy the rest of my stay. In the new room the bathtub plughole was blocked when I checked in. I reported this and they said they would repair this, but in fact they made only a bit less blocked...
convenient location to metro station. easy to go anywhere. the room is still small even it's executive.
Economic and efficient. Clean.
This hotel is very well situated in Wanchai. It is just moments walk from the MTR and easy to get a taxi as well. It is not a luxury hotel by any means, but it clean and relatively comfortable. If nightlife is in your plans, you are at "ground zero" for the club scene in WC. Staff is efficient if not overly warm. I have stayed at this hotel and for me it always depends on the price. If I get the room at a good rate, I will stay, if not there are other hotels in the area that are more competitive. When I first stayed here 8 years ago, the hotel was showing signs of wear, now it is firmly planted in the "dated" range. The pubic areas are fine, but the rooms could use a make over. Again, it all depends on the room rate as far as value goes.
Convenience of the location Untimely cleaning of the room
It was quiet, staff were available and checkin/out was quick
Proximity to Wan Chai MTR. Spacious room (for HK). Excellent staff. Dodgy area. You're going to get hit on getting into your hotel.
helpful, friendly and informative staff
Right at the heart of Wan Chai, the center of night life full of pub and bar and restaurant. Close to MTR - the subway train network. Reception counter is a bit small; the gym and the swimming pool are in the next building.
Location Noise from Bar across the road.
Hardly anything Room rather small and smelly. One bed was less than fair. No heating in room. Breakfast "room" untidy and unpleasant.
Good location and price. Breakfast was definitely not the best in the world.
The room is clean and quiet, and the hotel is quite close to Wan Chai mtr Station. The room rate is high compared to surrounding hotels.
location is near the centrum hotel is noisy, because near the main roads anda bars, clubs
Up grade to a suite without asking The breakfast wasn't brilliant
convenience transport. quite near to MTR station, free shuttle to airport express station. below average servicing among 4 star hotel. Got a lots of bar nearby, may not be good for family with kids.
Location and comfortable bed Size of bath, height of shower, breakfast choice poor, being telephoned about house keeping when do not disturb sign on door.
Location and the free shuttle from Hong KOng central station was good. Also they have upgraded my room from club room to suit without charging any money.
bed and shower menu and the fun things
A lot of lifts available for guests so practically didnt have to wait long for a ride. It has been remodeled & the rooms are the same size but newer carpet, bathroom. Very conveniently located
The additional charge for internet use in your room is disappointing, particularly with the high cost of accommodation in the hotel.
We loved our room with the view of the park and harbour. It was also close to good shopping and the railway station. The bed and bathroom were very clean and modern. We did not realize it did not have a pool but this didn't matter as the weather was cool.
close to shopping area hotel too old
services & facilities not as good as previous years. hotel run down.
Staff were helpful and room was always made up whenever requested.
The CD player in the room is very nice, I happened to buy a disk before I got there, I loved the music and the night view outside the window is goreiouse! Brekafast is not quite good and it is not worth the price they charge!
very close to the downtown center shopping mall no swimming pools
Central locality, near Times Square and all business centres. Honesty of housekeeping staff, they returned me some monies left behind. Front Office is too jammed and efficiency doubtful.
close to horse racing the only thing that I don't like is the location of the hotel, it's too convenient from the shopping center.
internet in the rooms shuttle bus
Location. Everything was good, no issues.
The view from the Executive Suite was well worth the money!
Free shuttle bus Breakfast order messed up twice. Price to upgrade to room not overlooking a cemetery and with a double bed instead of twins despite having booked a double
Bed was very hard. Had a handicapped room and couldn't open the windows or see out the frosted windows. The bathroom was hardly handicapped aceessible due to the toilet being in front of the sink and the shower having a high lip around it. Breakfast was uneventful, cold pancakes that you had to put in the toaster to warm up.
The location was excellent and the staff could not have been more helpful. The beds were very hard, verging on uncomfortable!
Confortable,Facilities to get subway. The internet must be in room
The location was very convenient
I asked for a non smoking room, but the hotel management gave me a smoking room, stating that there were no other options. I protested and I ended with a real suite... Just the fact that at first they did not want to liste to my requests, and that they should have informed me behorehand that the room type i asked for was not available
Friendly helpful staff, cleanliness of hotel rooms
This is a great hotel in HongKong which is rare Getting a taxi is difficult !
Location is great, room is quite spacious and bathroom is roomy. Overall I'm very satisfied with the hotel. My booking.com indicated breakfast was included, but it was denied during check in. I had to send e-mail and call manager to clarify this. Btw, coffee at breakfast buffet was sour and tasted like yesterday's coffee.
brandnew hotel with good location and view into the "Happy Valley". Great outside pool on the roof. breakfast room too crowded and noisy. Breakfast extremely expensive.
very new hotel convenietnly located near shopping area. the design of the hotel is very decent. no free wi fi
Beautiful view of Victoria Harbour, location close to shopping Nothing wrong
How advance is the technological facilities in the hotel. Very long process in checking in. they didnt want to give us room right away (though we reached there by 4PM), but after insisting for a long while they finally gave us our room.
convenient location to shopping area, walking distance to wan chai area with lots of bars. no free wi fi.
Very attractive, comfortable room. Restaurant closes at 12, upper level bar was reserved for a private function. It was impossible for me to have a drink or eat after work.
Hotel staff are exceptional. We encountered problems unrelated to the hotel during our stay but thanks to the hard work and courtesy of the staff, the problems were solved immediately. They obviously take client service very seriously. Truly impressed by staff.
Everything was great exact the staff were rude on check in. The facilities were amazing and I did get a late check out to 2pm. Staff were rude. They couldn't find my reservation. Waited 45 minutes for them to sort out the problem (their reservation system did not like I booked the hotel 3 hours before I arrived). They could have at least offered a drink or snack or something instead of making me stand around waiting for them to sort out the problem.
good location well for one.. my bed i slept on makes me itch thru the 2 nights.. not sure if its due to the sheets or the cover..
Cost Room size, age of furniture
The service was excellent and the rooms were very very comfortble and clean.
it is good because near from all transport and shopping and time square . also, WiFi is Free. in that period, there was maintenance beside this hotel.
The mattress was hard and it aggravated the backache I had
Convenience to public transportation and spacious room.
Close to MTR station and also nearby shopping areas like Sogo and Time Square Room is rather small and leaves very little space for moving about. Does not top up complimentary bottled water unless called up room service. The nearby overhead pedestrian bridge is under construction making it difficult to cross to the other side of the road.
Good service at counter, room cleaning satisfactory, good internet wi-fi coverage, good quiet location. No complaint.
excellent service, room is clean and comfort. however, hotel locates between 2 MTR stations, it takes time to walk to MTR station
Friendly staff, good location
The front office staff are friendly and understanding. We do have a chance to thank the Front Office Manager on duty on the 17th Nov 2010 night due to busy schedule. We really want to thank her for offering to check in first before we resolve our booking problem with the bank.
The Chateau Montfort is a charming, warm boutique hotel in a great location in Milan. The design is whimsical, romantic, and elegant. The lobby area is good for tea, a cocktail, or a small business meeting. The restaurant breakfast buffet consists of quality ingredients, albeit at a price to match. The rooms are a good size, the bed extremely comfortable, and the wardrobe large enough to fit a weeks worth of clothes. The TV had the most of channels of any hotel TV anywhere. There were a variety of languages in the 150 channels so you can keep up with the news at home regardless of where home is. The staff were friendly, helpful, and spoke very good English. The bathroom is beautiful, but I had a combo tub/shower with a curtain. I hoped for something better since everything else in the hotel exceeded my expectations. Again, this is nitpicking because the bathroom is otherwise very nice.
Room are cleans 1. I booked a king room and been told only double bed room After I mad a fuss the staff got me queen size bed... 2. I asked to extend my check out. I stayed until 7pm they charged me full fare for the night....staff totally not helpful in this concern. This hotel is a real nightmare with check in / out extension 3. No brush teeth in the bathroom. Need to ask everytime 4. Can not get a single plate delivered in the bath room 5. Need to ask a second large towell Overall very light service for a 4 stars
The Excelsior is a HK landmark. The view is outstanding. The location is unbeatable. Staff always ready to help. I liked locaton and view best. Great! No free internet use in rooms nor anywhere at the hotel. Made it fall behind new design business hotels in Asia.
Excellent location. The Concierge is very helpful and efficient in advising guests where to dine and how to reach a location. None.
Have stayed at the Excelsior years agoa and chose due to location. Its still as good, Bar on 34th superb and staff are excellent at looking after you, especially concierge... Rooms a little on the small side...
The hotel location and the staff was very helpful, great hotel to stay with family too. None
Harbour view room and great location bathroom l
I have stayed at this hotel several times over the years. I stay here because of a number of reasons: Its not far from MTR, its good valuve for the money, its located in a historical part of Hong Kong, can walk to the Star Ferry, interesting shopping nearby, and I get points from the Accor chain. Staff is friendly. Its nice to be centrally located in this part of Hong Kong, lots of cool restaurants nearby.
Did not feel under pressure from the staff. They helped when I asked for help
It's fantastic. Convenient and easy to travel around shopping areas and also good for business trips. Staff and hotel services are excellent. Room is very comfortable and clean. I would love to go back and stay at the hotel again. Nil.
Convenient location, good facilities, clean rooms
Room is small but ok. Breakfast is good. Receptionists never smile and seem to be unfriendly. Should change forks, spoons etc. before next dish in restaurant. Kills me when waitres with unfriendly face take dirty plate away but leave used forks and knives at the table. Not acceptably in restaurant. Not even during breakfast.
The location is in an excellent location for a stay on Hong Kong Island. With good facilities, clean (somewhat small) rooms, it is a much more reasonably priced option than some of the grand hotels on Hong Kong Island.
Excellent & Friendly staff - Nice easy transfer from the airport using the hotel shuttle bus - nice restaurant & bar area - free internet in hotel lobby - brilliant location within walking distance of star ferry pier to Kowloon - lots of good restaurants and causeway bay shopping area in close (walking) range
Close to expo area and close to shops Did not change the bed sheets for three night's, customer disk service are roud !!
All works well.
The Gym and pool and location and comfort of hotel the rooms are very small
The hotel was very comfortable and the location was good. A lot of negative reviewers complained about the renovation noise, but we didn't hear any noise at all during our 5 day stay. The rooms were very nicely renovated and there is a very nice park within the hotel which my kids loved spending a half day playing at.
Very helpful staff who really went out of their way to provide assistance.
vier & location
Hotel location was great, hotel was clean and breakfast was rich. After checking in the hotel, we learned that the hotel is being renovated and that noise may intefer our stay.If I have known this before booking the hotel ,I would not choose this hotel.
This was my primary hotel for HK. Many stays. Treated poorly. Escorted to door like bad guy. Mgr offered water as cure.
staff friendly and efficient room fittings little tired
clean area but bad staff i hurt in the bathroom because of wearing the slippers and the wet floor. i called customer service line for help, the staff 's tone is so bad. i suggest to change the slippers since customers will be easily slided and hurt !!!!!! i aslo suggest the management team make some training programe or re-training programe for staff. Make more valuable to your hotel. Looking forward to seeing your improvement.
The location is convenient. No sleeper available in the room. The air conditioner is too loud. Breakfast choice is limited so for a long stay, not good.
Ambience and comfort of the room, very well designed and very spacious for Hong Kong, clean room, nice cozy ambiance, just outside are Trams, buses and taxis, amazing location!
Location! Staff un-friendly and breakfast very poor!
Everything was easy. No frills which is what I wanted. I got what I paid for
Nice Location, Clean Rooms, Friendly Staff. No central heating (avoid during winters)
- upgrade to the bigger rm since we had paid for 10 nights & only stayed for 6, it's nice that i club was willing to compensate us by upgrading the room during stay ! Nothing serius enough worths to complain about !
Good location, reasonably priced for Hong Kong, friendly staff. Rooms fresh modern look (all while and tiled floors). Only 2 lifts so a lot of waiting when busy, also had problem with towels etc - often only 1 bath sheet left and no hand twoels, face flannels or bath mat, also rooms not serviced until very late in the day. My room had loads of dust and hair under the pull out draw unit. Also mean with soaps and only 1 bottle of water per day. Breakfast is limited to cerals, toast, etc.but was fine for me. Be sure to ask for a room away from the main road which is noisy all night and the sound proofing between the rooms is poor! Do not take the hotel shuttle - takes far too long - take the airport express and taxi instead. Although mirowave in the room no plates or chop sticks/forks etc.
The location. The staff was most helpful, especially a lady called "Sam". Plenty of storage space for luggage and good en-suite bathroom. People talking and walking noise from the hallway due to the marble floor. The very bright TV standby light on the wall from end of the bed - I had to tape a luggage tag over it in order to sleep! Breakfast was included, but there was no option for cheaper rate if not taking breakfast in their iCafe - which offers poor quality no service breakfast for HK$90 including 10% service! They only give 1 tea bag and 1 bottle of water a day even for the double room! I stayed for 5 nights, no one has changed my bed linen - when asked, the staff told me it was supposed to be changed every other day. Bathroom towels were inconsistent - always something missing each day. However, they were were quick to replace when asked.
Modern rooms, clean, very kind and helpful staff at the front desk, free wifi in the rooms very, very small rooms - impossible to put two suitcases on the floor
the noise , we left after 3 days because they werte doing renovation, it was far too expensive according to the noise we had to endure from 10.00 to 19.00
Easy, efficient N/A
It's new, so everything's clean. The beds are large and comfortable and there's free Internet access in the rooms. It's not a complaint, but the service is limited to check-in, check-out and baggage storage. There's no restaurant nor room service. However you're in a great location, so who wants to eat in the hotel?!
I like very much the fashion style of the room.
Very New, Very Clean A little noise from the road at night.
The staff at the ground floor lobby is friendly and he will recommend place to shop and eat.
The room is really great... clean, cozy and also it has a great view of Central there! The service is nice too.
The cleanliness of the room & the strategic location
The hotel is very convenience, it is not far from shopping area and plenty of food shop around the hotel including fresh market where you can find fresh fruits. The noise from the street and outside the room.
It was excellent they didn't exactly clean the room well
Though the location was reletively good, taxis are not allowed to drop off passengers at the front of the hotel! Our driver had to drop us off at the back alley. We literary lugged our luggages to the front door! I want to thank Micheal and especially Joyce for helping me to lug my luggage. Thank you Jason for explaining to me the place I had to wait for /hail a taxi. 1.Unlike other hotels, this hotel requires you to cancel 7 days beforehand. If not, you will be charged the first night. 2. They will charge the first night’s rate when you book the hotel and additional 2000HKD as a deposit when you check in. With such stringent rule, one might expect the hotel to assign good rooms for customers who booked months in advance. Sadly, it wasn't so. I was assigned a room reeked of cigarette smell by Natalie. The toilet cum bathroom is transparent and visible from the other flats/apartments that are built within arm’s length! So, the curtain has to shut permanently! When I approached Tiffany, I was told that there wasn't any room left. I was told that I could pay additional 220HKD to upgrade. The manager’s attitude was “take it or leave it!” After I commented that “You have the prerogative of treating me however you like, but I have the right to write about how I was treated here,” that they suddenly remembered that they had vacant rooms! Though my situation was rectified, it left a bitter taste in my mouth. I had to stoop so low in using my occupation and the internet to threaten the staff to get basic decent customer service! It literary marred my first day there! 3. They like to use the excuse of “it’s a bigger and more spacious room” to trick you into accepting a more “inferior” room. When they show me their “smaller” room, it was a better room, where the bathroom was not visible from other buildings! 4. Though it's near Times Square, you can forget about saving money as you will definitely pay extra to get a cab to the nearest MTR to head to the airport with your heavy luggage. This is because the Wan Chai MTR station is too far away for you to lug your luggage to while the Causeway Bay MTR station is too congested with traffic and dangerous for you to head to with your luggage. 5.
Very easy to catch a night bus to the airport. Small
Could smell smoke in my non-smoking room. I think it was from the room next door
Beds are comfy.... Had to leave because the bookings in the area and too expensive.
I stayed there on 2 occasions a few days apart first time I liked my room on the 20th floor 2nd time I stayed there I was on the 16th floor and found the room dissappointing small and the decor very tired
Staff friendly, good service, concierge knowledgeable and helpful - Champs Bar good. Walking distance of MTR, ferries and Shopping Malland loacl food markets. Rooms adequate but a bit small, likewise corridors narrow
Convenient, no fuss
The location is excellent, it is between two MTR stations and in a quiet location. It was quite comfortable for what it is. Needs a refurbishment and bed linen is a bit grey, old and stained.
The rain shower in the signsture room was heavenly. Location was great and handy to services. Hotel Shuttle services were prompt and luxurious. There was a late check-out offered as part of package but we weren't allowed it, also offered selection of pillows was unavailable. Room Service and Operator services were rude. Also the signature rooms, the aparent highest quaility suites, had no windows and felt like being in basement instead of 2nd floor.
relatively good hotel considering it is in wanchai far from MTR.
central location moudy rooms, poor services
Hotel staff was polite, service minded and capable. Breakfast was excellent. Given the age of the hotel, the old decoration and compared to othet Hong Kong Island Hotels, the price/quality ratio is too rosy! However, the hotel was under decoration and they did it without noise! That is something!
The location was decent. Not great, but walking distance to decent public transport and if you took all the right turns you didn't end up in a smelly meat market. Nothing else was remotely good. The room was tiny, but that was expected. What wasn't expected was the absolutely terrible mattress. If there had been enough floor space I would have slept on the floor rather than this bumpy, lumpy mess. The room smelt terrible. In the shower you had to choose between water pressure or warm water, you couldn't get both. The staff were abrupt, if not outright rude. I've travelled to over 100 cities and stayed in many, many hotels, including quite a few Best Westerns. This would easily be in the bottom 1% - other than a motel in Atlantic City where there was a murder the night we stayed there I honestly cannot think of a worse hotel experience.
Cheap price, but otherwise see my Con's to figure out why I didn't like this place. Security guy was OK. Staff were rude. They checked me in early, but did not give me my room key because the room was not "ready" yet. Asked to come back after 3. OK, fair enough. Came back around 6pm (I could not make it between 3~6pm), and they made me wait in line behind a tour group of about 50 Chinese tourists to get my key. they had 2 desk staff members working. Ridiculous. Rooms were dirty. Rooms also small. Location is good to shopping. But if you plan on buying a lot of stuff beware there is no space in the hotel room to put it.
