Pros: It was a lovely hotel. The staff were amazingly helpful and responsive. They helped us book a tour when we arrived even though it was quite late at night already. They understood English very well and were able to help us get our stuff sent for laundry service. The fresh fruit everyday was lovely and the breakfast was great. The bed was very comfy and spacious. There was enough room to spread out our things comfortably.

Pros: I don't even know how to start! It exceeded our expectations! We arrived early like around 10am. The staff welcomed us and helped us with our bags. Welcome drinks were served while the frontdesk checked us in and arranged that our room and my friend's would be in the same floor (Thanks Hung!). Room was spacious and so was the bathroom. Airconditioning worked perfectly especially when the weather was around 40! Fresh fruits were delivered to our room everyday. The breakfast buffet was awesome. Aside from the buffet, you can order à la carte! It is something we look forward to everyday when we wake up

Cons: Only negatives were that our handheld showerhead was broken and didn't get fixed after we had mentioned it to staff. The bathroom smelled fairly musty/moldy and didn't appear as well maintained as the pictures showed.

Pros: What a delightful hotel! The staff are excellent. The service provided by the ‘butler’ staff on level 7 and in the lounge is outstanding. They even tracked down some medication I required. We can’t thank Zang enough for her exceptional efforts to ensure we had everything we needed. She took care of all our bookings & researched the best tours available to suit us. All her suggestions were perfect. Even the backstreet motorcycle tour - the best thing we’ve ever done in Hanoi! I was dubious, but she said she thought it would perhaps provide a unique perspective on Vietnamese life and the way the city worked. Absolutely spot on! Zang’s very genuine interest & concern about our stay at the hotel had a significant impact on our enjoyment & experience at the Metropole. Many thanks.

Cons: You can’t make excuses for it being in Hanoi when it is priced at the luxury level but the food and break fast we’re poor offerings with stale pastries every day. They have built more rooms than bet the past decade than the infrastructure can manage - creating a poor pool area, a hot and rather pointless bamboo bar and spa staff who are completely untrained in their offerings. This would be a good phenomenal hotel with half the rooms but as it stands it is classic Hanoi which is rather poor and vastly overpriced

Cons: The hotel is advertised as being the oldest and fanciest hotel in Hanoi. We splurged and booked a room for one night with a small child. When we arrived, we were told that we would not have a room in the original hotel but would be given a room in the new addition. We needed to pay an extra 60 dollars to stay in the original section. They should make this policy clear to potential guests. We also requested a rollaway bed and they stuck it in the very tight living room, which was about 5 ft wide. The staff at the pool restaurant got our orders wrong--forgot my sons drink, and brought my husband the wrong beer

Breakfast buffet was delicious and had a good variety of asian and western food. Fruits and snacks were also provided in the room, just like tea and coffee. My parents got a very beautiful flower decoration in the room for their anniversary what I really appreciated. The hotel staff was extremely helpful and always friendly. Special thanks to Lucy, who organized us a fantastic Ha Long Bay day trip and provided all the information we needed. Excellent value for money. Thank you all!

Cons: As usual in this neighbourhood outside ambiente is characterized by construction sites and heavy traffic. But this is normal for a busy street in Hanoi´s Old town. Room with a street view was nevertheless comfortable and calm thanks to good windows and curtains. We can deeply recommend this location for a central and comfortable stay in Hanoi.

Cons: I've been spoilt by having amazing breakfasts at other hotels in Vietnam. There was nothing particularly bad about breakfast here, but it also lacked local Vietnamese options/flair. Vietnam is associated with amazing food, but breakfast here was just OK. Air conditioner condensate pipe got blocked and started spraying water into the room late at night. Had to call front desk to have it resolved. Usually caused by maintenance issues with them not being cleaned regularly enough. On the plus side this was resolved quickly by front desk staff with a screw driver and magic straw. I guess this happens pretty regularly. Minibar lacking price list, or indication that the items had to be paid for. We didn't consume any of them, so not a real issue. Likely just our room and price list got misplaced.

Cons: The hallways didn't seem to live up to 5 star status. The carpet seemed old, and there were lots of scrapes and marks on the walls. There were like 8 million light switches in the room, and it was a bit confusing to figure out which ones did what. The toilet flushing was a little fickle. In the description, it said the room would have a courtyard or city view. I e-mailed to ask for a city view, and got a response saying they would get us one. However, when we arrived it was a courtyard view. I'm sure the buffet breakfast was excellent, but $20 per person seemed a bit steep. It'd be nice if they offered some kind of complimentary meal. This was a really nice place, but maybe didn't quite live up to our expectation of what a 5 star hotel would be.

Pros: The staff is very very nice! They took care of our trip to Sapa and gave us a lunch packet for the way! All in all, a wonderful stay. Pros: Everything! The staff was oh so friendly and helpful in every way. The breakfast was yummy. Ba makes a mean egg scramble and jelly/fruit things that were a bit intimidating, but worth trying! They tasted like chocolate and strawberry milk but the coconut was my fav. They arranged our transport, events and we're very accommodating when we kept putting off our return from Cat Ba Island. The circle k, numerous restaurants, and shops all right there was very convenient.

Breakfast was a feat, with oancakes personalised for our boys and endless delicious food. They even let us shower in a room in the evening (after we checked out in the morning) just before our night train, and offered us a cool drink while we waited in the cool lobby for the taxi. Come and stay. You won’t be disappointed. Vietnamese hospitality at its best.

Pros: This is a small hotel however the rooms I felt were large and comfy. The hotel is in the heart of Hanoi Old Quarter. Once you step out you are in the thick of it which we loved. It was a real cultural experience. The staff were lovely and keen to assist at all times. Staff on arrival assisted us with local attractions and directions. Breakfast was great each morning which was included in price. This hotel is perfect for those that want the cultural experience of Hanoi and it’s people. Note there is no pool at this hotel. This hotel is a great base for your travels 2-4 nights is the perfect stay period in my opinion.

They pretended they didn't know, but the room had evidence of being rejected by other guests. Finally got different room next day. Inexcusable behavior on part of hotel.

Cons: We were given a room facing the front main road. It is very noisy because the motorist in Hanoi just loved to horn for almost every thing. Couldn't sleep on the first night. I realised that the windows of this room were a single 5mm glass panel. The next day upon my complaint to the front desk, we were upgraded to a deluxe room facing the back . This room was very much quieter and we had sound, good quality sleep for the rest of the stay. I would request the management to upgrade their rooms facing the front ti a double glazed sound proof windows and thicker curtains. Other than that, it is a lovely place to stay

Cons: To be honest i did not liked anything about the hotel, except the location. It was my worst stays till yet. Me n my partner are business travellers and have stayed in almost all good brands for 5stars and 7stars in many countries. Truly this Hilton Hanoi is by far the worst. Firstly, when we reached no bell boy came to receive, so we had to carry our luggage ourselves. Staff at reception was very blunt. Vietnam hotels and people are known for their wonderful hospitality. Hilton did not offer any. Our stay was much better last time when we stayed in boutique 4 star hotels in Hanoi. They offered such a warm welcome and full attention and i was truly amazed by the hospitality. During checkout when we mentioned all this as a feedback, still no bellboy came to get the luggage and escort us to the car. Secondly, rooms were old and even the dustbins were in poor condition. Carpets damp. Thirdly, last room dining can be ordered till 10pm which is not expected in such brands. 5 star hotels maintain some standards which Hilton Hanoi did not. Worst services n much worse the hospitality.

Pros: The room looked exactly like on the pictures: it was big, clean, well equipped and comfortable. The bathroom had an amazing shower! In the highest floor was the indoor pool with an amazing view over the city. It was really refreshing! The breakfast was really good too! They prepared a lot of different choices with both western and local food. We had to leave early in the morning and the staff was awake and even prepared food for us as takeaway. In general the staff was super nice and helpful with organizing - they even got me a birthday cake, which was so nice!! We had the relaxing stay there and would come back anytime!
