Very pleasant staff. We were a family of 4 and had a duplex room which was great.(room 105) There are no communal areas, just a small reception amd a small breakfast room. Nu loung/seating areas.
The staff was freindly, location was good
The location No Complaints All very good
The breakfast, the location and athmosphere of the hotel was excelent. The staff was also very friendly. We asked for a bottle opener, and got it right away. The takeaway breakfast we asked for was pour, but it was prepared for 5 am. The bathroom is elegant, nice double shower. No view from the room, even if it was promised. But on the other hand, the hotel is in a good, nice location (easy to find it), and the room is very quite. (Except the noise of a contruction in the morning)
The hotel was in a lovely location which was also one of the few areas not to flood during high tide. A very pretty hotel with lovely quality furnishings. Good for a romantic getaway. The staff although helpful, put others before us even if we were first all the time, seemed to be dependant upon which languages were being spoken.
perfect location! nice breakfast
The breakfast was wonderful. The ambiance and decor was what I had imagined of Venice. Great location.
convenient location; beautiful decoration and luxurious furniture in the room; good service of hotel staff; internet service. complicated structure of the building (hard to find room)
Location was great, with our room having a view directly over a side canal just off the Grand Canal. Took a gondola ride from our doorstep. Breakfast service was good, and WiFi reliable. Will definitely consider staying here again if we return to Venice. Tip: Although you can book a shared water taxi on a small boat that will let you off right at the hotel doorstep, we found that to be cramped, hot, and had a indeterminate wait time. As long as you don't have too much luggage, I recommend just taking the Alilaguna Blue line ferry to the Nove stop. From there, it's only about a 10 minute walk, with only 3 or 4 bridges (with stairs) to cross to make it to the hotel.
Location is brilliant. Very Venetian and slightly quirky but with very modern bathrooms. We missed breakfast because we had to leave for the airport at 7am and it didn't start until 8am.
The decor of room & hotel in general, especially the breakfast room. Excellent location. Polite staff. We stayed in the Falier Suite and thought it was a little small. We've stayed in bigger junior suites. Bathroom was surprisingly small. It was unbelievably noisy very early in the morning. We had a late departure from Venice and had to leave our luggage at the hotel. Any other hotel I've ever stayed in has had a luggage room but we had to leave ours outside the reception.
This was our last booking on a three week trip and it is off the beaten path which is nice as there are WAY less tourists than in other parts of Venice, but it is still close to everything. The staff was amazing and the breakfast and afternoon happy hour was a treat. Our room looked beautiful. While our room "looked" beautiful, it was anything but. The bed was possibly the least comfortable bed I have ever slept in and the pillows were like 2 inch foam. As is normal with old buildings in Venice, there is some settling but the floors in this room were drastically slanted. Everything smelled of mildew which some say is typical for Venice but this was my third trip in a variety of old hotels in Venice and I have never smelled that before. Additionally, each room (living room and bed room) had a variety of electrical control panels on the walls that were ridiculously confusing, especially when you just want to turn off a lamp.
Excellent customer service & superb location. Hotel seamlessy blended both modern and classical fixtures & fittings. Some building work going on outside hotel and was sometimes noisy.
staff, room and location Nothing
An excellent hotel in a brilliant location
Ideal position for seeing the sites but in a quiet non tourist area. All the staff were friendly and helpful.
location,friendly staff,nice room,good breakfast
very difficult to find
What we liked most about our stay was the ease with which we found the hotel, in fantastic walking distance of all the monuments we had mapped out for ourselves. The room was spacious, clean and lovely. We checked in early and the room was ready for us regardless. The staff were pleasant and professional.
We felt the hotel was well located but out of the crowded area and quiet. It was nice to come back to after sightseeing during the day. i felt the internet service could have been better.
Comfortable bed and bath room. Kind staffs. Good location. Enough breakfast. I enjoyed very much. Windows are not wide, so that a not well-lit room.
It was beautifully presented, spotlessly clean and had excellent 'in room' facilities and breakfast buffet.Great location in quiet back street, but close to everything you need. My only grumble would be that the air-conditining unit in my L-shaped single room was right by the door, and so completely ineffective. As a result it was very hot in the room.
staff were amazing
What was there not to like; an excellent location, well appointed rooms complete with beautiful Murano glass chandeliers, polite staff who were multi-lingual with excellent communications skills. Hotel Rialto is an ideal location for exploring Venice. The hotel is central to all major tourism attractions as well as shopping, restaurants etc. Water buses and water taxis are readily accessible from right outside the front door, making the hotel particularly easy to find for first time visitors to the city. I'd highly recommend Hotel Rialto. One very minor gripe, but not enough to spoil an otherwise enjoyable weekend stay; visitors to the hotel are offered a complimentary visit to a glass factory on the island of Murano. Guests should be aware that there is no such thing as a free meal, or in this case a free trip. You will be expected to put your hand in your pocket and purchase some of the very expensive glass products. Having said that, the glass is spectacular and you may well want to make a purchase on its merit, just be advised that this is a hard sell. Expect to budget at least €200 though it would be easy to spend much more.
It was right in the centre of Venice - great location with easy access to all other parts of the city. The room was very clean and comfortable and the staff were very helpful. It had a great mini bar. There was no bar or restaurant- no where to sit and relax that wasn't in your room. The room was quite dark, with windows opening onto a noisy lane-way and building work.
The staff is not customer service oriented. AC was not working and we were above 40C (110F). Couldn't sleep at all
friendly staff supply of gluten free food
the quality of the room, the central location and the helpful staff
location and price no
Location is good We were placed in what is called "the Annex" - never stay there - it is accessed by a dimly lit alley way filled with garbage - no evalators and no view whatsoever. The Hotel Rialto should be embarrassed to count this as part of their establishment.
Staff was very rude We had lot of luggage there was no one to help take the luggage through the stairs. Charged extra fee If 2 person stay in the room. Gave us 2 twin bed room.
There was nothing tol like about the hotel itself. The location was good. The hotel was not clean by any stretch of the imagination.Didnt like the dirt on the walls or the mould in our bathroom.
Perfect location. Bathroom was spotlessly clean. Small room with no view - not what we thought we had booked. Breakfast could have had a wider selection. Interior beginning to look a bit tired, and we only had one pillow each. Still cant understand Italian reticence to use duvets rather than blankets.
Nothing We did no receive booked Deluxe room. Our room was very poor, small and noisy. Staff said only "Sorry" and smiling. There is no any restaurant or cafe for dinner. Very expansive for their service.
The views were amazing and the room was very comfortable
Location on the Grand Canal and very close to a vaporetto stop is fabulous. We stayed in a junior suite, which was very roomy and faced the canal with a fabulous view. Double glazing kept out most the canal traffic noise which we rather liked anyway! I think other rooms face over a lovely garden area at the back which may be quieter. Terrific bar area downstairs which looks out towards the canal and there is a water taxi pick-up service at the hotel's own dock. Staff were very helpful and friendly. A great experience and we will certainly stay there again on our next visit to Venice.
Well decorated rooms, great location. Requested extra bed, which was not available, so had to get extra room with full price but wasn't like the other rooms.
This hotel is a recently renovated 16th century palazzo on the Grand Canal in Venice. Our room was quite small, but adequate and had a nice view of the Grand Canal. The bathrooms have bathtubs and are an nicely done and an adequate size. The hotel is 15 minutes by foot from St Mark's Square which we liked as it was somewhat away from the main tourist area. However, it was easy to go to St. Mark's by foot or boat. The entrance is somewhat hard to find the first time, and the rooms are quite small, but per above, still work.
the hotel was in a very good position, also very clean and well fitted bathrooms. the reason I would not return to this hotel is the very very poor service, reception staff screaming at someone down the phone while we were having a very pricey prosecco at the bar (no nibbles offered) never been anywhere in Italy and not had nibbles. Breakfast was a total shambles the lady serving just could not cope 6 rolls and 6 croissants on buffet at any one time where there were about 30 guests waiting for bread, when they came mine were frozen solid in the middle I complained as could not eat them but was told this is how they arrive so nothing can be done also reception said yes we know but did nothing so had to go without breakfast at least their coffee is good, when you stay in a 4 star you expect some service but this hotel had0
The hotel building is old but inside was a mixture of old and new ( which we liked very much) also in a very good location. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was smaller than we would have liked. At breakfast we would have liked a pot of coffee on our table and a menu to say what cooked items were on offer that day/everyday.
Excellent surroundings beautiful furnishings ideal location value for money. Breakfast excellent. No bar staff!
Our room (210) had two balconys over the Grand Canal, with superb views in all directions. The room is fabulous - tastefully modernised with many original features maintained, as the rest of the hotel was. A really indulgent way to see Venice. However, the staff were surly at breakfast, which was only average. In short, a superb building in a peerless location, with snooty staff.
Clean, comfortable room, with excellent location, and pleasant staff who were helpful in providing tips and suggestions for our first visit to venice.
We appreciated a lot the friendliness of the staff, who were very helpful. We had a beautiful room, very big and comfortable, spotlessly clean, with a great view over Canale Grande. Careful: when we paid the bill at the reception, we were checked out, meaning when we returned to our room we could not enter it anymore, resp. inside all electricity is dead. This makes for a strange feeling - to be avoided. Suggestion for breakfast: it was a pity that only scrambled eggs could be served whereas we would have loved to have fried ones - which meant we did not have any during our stay. The dark bread (heated in the oven?) would fall inro 100 pieces when trying to cut it open. Freshly baked bread from bakery would have been a nice alternative.
The hotel was central, yet secluded. Perfect.
breakfast open later alley way outside window was at times very noisy especially in middle of the night, people laughing, walking, restaurant workers talking loudy.
very good location smell in the room from the breakfast, and from cigarettes
location rooms are too small
The staff was incredible. So polite and knowledgeable. The front desk manager (with I could remember his name) was the best we encountered during our two weeks traveling in Italy. It's an older hotel, but well maintained and updated. The location was ideal - right on the Grand Canal and close to water bus stops, and just steps from the Rialto Bridge. It's an older hotel, so there's no elevator but the staff is very good about getting luggage up to, and down from room. Would have like a nicer view, but also didn't want to pay for it. Thought the price was a little steep, but probably pretty average for Venice.
The staff were very friendly and helpful and we had a free upgrade to a superior room. The location couldn't be better in Venice, right by the Rialto Bridge. Nothing
location poor view
Location was excellent, staff provided good recommendations
Breakfast, location, staff. Lack of internet. Price... but I know it's just Venice...
Hospitality Noisy area
the position was perfect right on the rialto bridge embankment, the cleanliness was superb, felt comfortable and safe, excellent breakfast. First impressions are of a very old and worn hotel, stairs and corridor carpets seemed worn , bedrooms are well kept and bathroom facilities are excellent which made up for the other more disappointing aspects.e
The standard of the hotel and its location suited us perfectly
Having a room that overlooked the canal allowed for the unique ability to observe the busy canal crossings and food market business from above. The room was very comfortable and sound-proof, and the hotel had an excellent placement for shops and sightseeing.
views of venice and again very nice hotel and staff
The Foscari Palace was a wonderful hotel right on the Grand Canal. We had a lovely room with complimentary water and fruit bowl and incredible breakfasts in the morning. The hotel staff were really friendly and on the Saturday night there was a free cocktail evening with drinks, nibbles and a harpist. There is a gondolar ferry stop right outside the hotel, so very easy and cheap to cross the canal. When we revisit Venice, we will always stay at the Foscari Palace, it really made our holiday very special. Not applicable
Official, serious atmosphere, but courteous reception, neat & very well dressed receptionists, and appropriate attire of other staff, well decorated entrance of the hotel; restaurant ambiance very good, chef very good food, staff friendly, elaborate choice in breakfast, rooms were very comfortable and spacious, luxurious bathroom & spa. Reception desk staff- could be more friendly and eager to help, should have spent more friendly time to orientate the guests, and take extra time to explain the facilities available--they had a more reserved attitude, didn't see openness. Could have more choices in the dinner menu.
The Space and comfort of the rooms Breakfast could have been better
The central location. Friendliness and efficiency of staff. Had to pay for use of tea and coffee bags in the room.
excellent room (although upgraded), very nice position, nice and helpful staff. Breakfast a bit modest, especially the coffee.
Did not get a room facing the main canal. Beware that when you book they may put you in a room not facing the canal
Apparently an old German consulate building... An excellent location on the Grand Canal, two steps from Ca d'Oro vaporetto stop. Very comfortable room with a private patio... No view from the room- but who cares - just go up to the roof terrace and have a drink admiring one of the best views in Venice. Friendly staff... Good brieckfast.. Good choice. Almost nothing - just a few bulbs and bits and pieces in the room need to be taken care of.
Location, cleanliness, breakfast variety, helpful and friendly staff
Easy to find, good facilities, good price, breakfast is really good. Room is a little bit dark. No wifi in the room.
Breakfast was great and the location was very good. The room was very small and the bathroom didn't have a shower curtain.
Everything was clean and the service very good. The bed was upstairs, bathroom first floor; this is not very convenient specially durind the night.
your wellcoming and friendly staff in general and Leila your receptionist in particular
The Hotel is very central and yet quiet. We enjoyed the breakfasts in the courtyard. We believe that the room we were in, which was on two levels, needs the stairs between the levels repairing. They creaked extremely loudly whenever we went up or down them.
Neighborhood and traditional Venetian decor and ambience. Access with luggage difficult and somewhat expensive.
The internal breakfast area is wonderfull The rooms we´ve got were to small
value for money
it has good location, you can reach by water bus or taxi from airport, rooms are very small.... rooms very small and should have more vegetarian food options ....
Complimentary iced tea every afternoon for guests. Location very convenient to Rialto. No free wifi. Front desk staff were sometimes unfriendly.
The hotel was central located, quiet and clean. Unfortunately this is not a four and a half star hotel!!! by neither standards! the rooms are not up to that standard, breakfast is not either, internet is poorly working; only the price is 4.5 stars; also using the pool in the garden is possible only for 5 euros per day...
The staff is fabulous - professional; gracious; welcoming; informative. The rooms are decorated in the true Venetian style. The location is charming - a quiet neighborhood; easy access to 2 vaporetto stops; easy to walk to most locations; and the excellent Osteria Giorgione restaurant [we ate there 3 out of our 4 night stay! We will likely be staying at the hotel, for all return visits.
The Hotel Giorgione was in a fantastic location to see the major sights in Venice. We arrived by water taxi - it may not be so convenient if you intend to arrive by public water bus. Breakfast was lovely - served in a lovely quiet and pretty courtyard. All in al,l we had a superb long weekend stay in Venice.
location & friendly staff
Above all rooms are big with excellent bathrooms No
Ideal location to explore Venice. Beautiful room. Very courteous staff.
The reception staff were very helpful and spoke excellent english. The restaurants the staff recommended were very good and they did the bookings which made life easier. The hotel location was ideal for getting around Venice either on foot or by vaparetto. A kettle in the room would have been appreciated.
Location Breakfast was too continental, a free choice of english breakfast would be a plus
Very good service. A well renovated interior.
Great location, helpful staff, lovely rooms and decor.I would defiitely use this Hotel again! The breakfast was adequate but not fantastic, and there were mosquitoes in our room in November be warned!
Very plush for a European hotel, staff was friendly and helpful, great location.
evey things is good location, shopping, service nothings
Everything... How dificult it is to find this hotel?? A lot...
Very personal service from the genuinely nice hotel staff - made our honeymoon even more special!
Most welcoming, accommodating and helpful staff Beautiful rooms and decoration Enclosed garden with breakfast served outside and impressive waterfront access Air conditioning in bedroom room not really powerful enough to cope with the extreme temperatures in July August
Just great Price
Tha Palazzo is simply breathtaking, it truly is a palace. Very historical yet comfortable and inviting. Silvana met us as our water taxis landed with a huge welcoming smile and kindness. She is truly what made our stay so sensational... she is the essence of the Palazzo, we were wondering if she ever left, she was always available. That we eventually had to leave.
Everything, beautiful building, helpful staff, great breakfast. No.
The staff were fantastic, very helpfull and friendly. The room was exactly what we expected. Will return there again on our next trip to Venice.
Service straight from the heart by very attentive staff. Beautifully restored 16th century palace with lots of character Nothing at all
The friendly service and comfortable surroundings.
Beautiful building in excellent, quiet location. Tasteful rooms. Friendly, felt like being a personal guest. Lovely courtyard garden.
The building and the location are fantastic, one of the nicest buildings I have stayed in.
The hotel is quite exceptional, combining grandeur and intimacy; wonderful architecture, exceptional breakfast, very quiet and spacious rooms and an excellent location off the tourist track.
Imaginative use of an old building, with beautiful public spaces and spacious bedrooms, first-rate facilities
Service was good Cost of mini bar and breakfast was not freshly cooked
Exceptionally beautiful building, gracious and low-key atmosphere of tasteful opulence.
Everything, it was charming. No points at all.
The facilities were beautiful. I was disappointed that we could not receive a late check out after my running of the Venice Marathon. I was told that at 1pm there were no rooms availible for a quick shower.
Beautiful building, location, and room Staff did not have a very helpful or accommodating attitude, we were surprised to find out, and we had several experiences of not feeling the service was good with front desk staff particularly. Orange juice at breakfast not included and charged 14 euros a day for 2 fresh orange juices.
Very easy access to transport both public and private
i liked the design of the hotel the intenal and the external and the servies of the hotel its one of the best hotels
Excellent location and superb view on Grand canal from my room. The room number was 103. I would really recommend it. Breakfast was rather modest. Also as some reviewer already said the hotel lacks atmosphere. It is all too silent. Interente is bloody expensive but one can use Venice connected for EUR 5 a day.
the junior suite was very tasteful with nice size bed and room on arrival we met someone at reception who was not very pleasant but the next morning we did not have to deal with him and the rest of the staff were lovely throughout out stay. The hotel does not have a great bar facility but the setting and the food in the restaurant on the canal was excellant and matched its 5 star rating. I would stay again as it is only getting on its feet with opened only four months.
The hotel is beautifull, and clean A bar to have a drink would be nice. The hotel is a little far away from St Marco.
It is a clean place, adequate room, nice shower, good location, good breakfast. The place was very difficult to find, no hotel sign.
great location, very convenient and easy to find.the rooms where comfortable clean and spacy enough.the staff was very friendly and helpful poor breakfast and really noisy breakfast room starting from 8 in the morning it wakes you up!!
The staff was very polite. The room was quite good and clean. The bathroom was also very comfortable. The location is also quite good. In general should stay that this hotel is a good value for money. The problem was that the receptionist was speaking only very poor english and some members of the staff didn't speak english at all, so it was really hard to communicate with them sometimes. The breakfast could be better and isn't good the fact that is served strictly between 08.30-10.30.
i liked the mood of the rooms, the clenliness and the location.
The room was amazing, had really nice features like the view over the rooftops and wooden beams, was nice and cosy. The staff were very friendly and helpful
We booked this hotel based on the photos posted on the website as there was no review during time of booking. Hotel was very new, only 2 months old and the photos are indeed true. The room was covered with beautiful wallpaper and the bed was typical Venetician design. Room was not big but sufficient for two person and bedlinens were very smooth and comfortable. The staff were very helpful and gave lots of information on where to visit etc. My only complaint is that the bathroom was too cold, there's a draft of wind in the bathroom which makes it very cold during showering.
I can't say enough about this hotel. Staff was exceptional, the hotel was gorgeous and all for a very affordable rate. Wouldn't change a thing!
I stayed in Al Duca Di Venezia with my mother for two nights in mid-November. It's located right next to the Natural History museum and is very close to two public transit ferry stops. The room was absolutely beautiful - very unique and luxurious decor. On top of that, the staff were absolutely fantastic and extremely helpful about sightseeing, restaurant recommendations, and general information like train times, etc. Our favorite hotel during our week in Italy. Breakfast room was small and the breakfast itself was a little too basic - but really, not a problem.
I enjoyed everything , from the decoration to the location and the kindness of the staff. Everything was perfect.
The room decoration is quite pretty. The receptionist is quite helpful and passionate. As soon as we checked in, he offered all info we need.
New, modern hotel + well maintained, clean + good location + friendly & helpful staff - all of which are scarce in Venice. The room was a bit too small and the elevator stopped on the 2nd floor, so we had to climb one floor. All in all, it was a small price to pay for such a nice hotel.
I and my girlfriend had a wonderful stay with nice room setting, kind hotel staff, good location (very near to train station) etc etc.
Staff helpful. Room spacious for Europe. Room should have a chair where one can sit and read.
The reception staff was wonderful. They helped us find nice family friendly restaurants, made suggestions for day trips and evening events, and organized a reasonable transfer for us. The hotel was beautiful and truly exhibited the Venetian atmosphere. The best part--it was "off the beaten path" in a quiet area, but within close walking distance to the main attractions of the city.
This is a wonderful hotel. I had specifically asked for their room with the gorgeous red draped motif and they complied. The room was large and beautifully adorned. The staff definitely tries to be very helpful and everyone is friendly, but we got a lot of misinformation from Katarina (on restaurants and making phone calls). The hotel is about 15 minutes walk to the Rialto Bridge and about 30 minutes walk (give or take) to St. Marks Square. You can also easily take the Vaporetto (water bus) to both locations. We were very happy with this hotel and would stay there again! As stated above, Katarina tried to be helpful, but gave us wrong information on some restaurants and making long distance calls. Otherwise, the hotel is wonderful.
the location is excellent; easy walking to everything this hotel is slightly shabby and rundown -
Owner was exceptional in ensuring that our stay was good. Room was lovely & the location for us was fabulous.
There was a very comfortable bed. There was not a good view of the city, but I didn't pay a lot so I didn't expect that.
The gentlaman at the reservation desk was always kind and helpful to me, I really thank him.
Easy access and easy to find the hotel
