Very clean , great breakfast
Historic building, good breakfast selection - super breakfast room - get there early to snag one of the two tables on the canal front balcony. Front desk and breakfast room staff are friendly and responsive. Was upgraded for one night - nice to ahve a larger room but required a move the second night. I booked a single room - advise to get a double as although fully functional, the single rooms are tiny. My room did have a view over the side canal though and large windows in the sleeping and bath rooms!
Very nice , helpul and friendly staff. The location is very convenient and the service excellent. The rooms were clean and beautiful.
Quiet location, but easy access to main sights. Breakfast overlooking Grand Canal.
The location was away from the crowds yet convenient to the Vaporetta and other sites. The staff was not very knowledgeable about the area.
Should learn to be more friendly and not so rude. Unfriendly atmosphere.
Great location on Grand Canal. Suitably quiet neighborhood, even though close to almost everything you want to see in Venice. Friendly staff (offered the upgrade to bigger twin room for our teenagers at no cost).
wonderful breakfast on the balcony overlooking the Grande Canale and drinks in the evening as the bar is always open and cosy. A lovely room and very clean. loved everything
The location is perfect - sitting on the porch right on the Grande Canale with a drink after a long day's walking around in Venice is a treat. The room was large with enough space for a family of four. It is difficult to find when you first look for it.
Staff was incredibly friendly, attentive, very much a family atmosphere. Wonderful complimentry breakfast buffet, loads of food to choose from. Hotel accessible via water taxi and prime site right on grande canal. We will plan to stay at same hotel again next year, hopefully for two weeks, to spend more time on the grande canal and to tour more of italy, a beautiful and friendly place. The hotel also offered free water taxi to the Murano Glass factory and to San Marco Square. No elevators to upper floors. Must be able to go up and down several steep stairs. We had plenty of help getting our luggage up and down so we had no problems.
Location Steps. Some steps were loacated in the middle of the room.
Location was excellent. Day staff were very cordial and helpful, even upgraded my daughter and me to a suite. The night staff (front desk) was also doubling as a bartender in the bar. He was most unpleasant and made it clear that the five of us in the bar were a big inconvenience for him even though there was no activity on the front desk.
We appreciated a lot the friendliness of the staff, who were very helpful. We had a beautiful room, very big and comfortable, spotlessly clean, with a great view over Canale Grande. Careful: when we paid the bill at the reception, we were checked out, meaning when we returned to our room we could not enter it anymore, resp. inside all electricity is dead. This makes for a strange feeling - to be avoided. Suggestion for breakfast: it was a pity that only scrambled eggs could be served whereas we would have loved to have fried ones - which meant we did not have any during our stay. The dark bread (heated in the oven?) would fall inro 100 pieces when trying to cut it open. Freshly baked bread from bakery would have been a nice alternative.
the hotel was in a very good position, also very clean and well fitted bathrooms. the reason I would not return to this hotel is the very very poor service, reception staff screaming at someone down the phone while we were having a very pricey prosecco at the bar (no nibbles offered) never been anywhere in Italy and not had nibbles. Breakfast was a total shambles the lady serving just could not cope 6 rolls and 6 croissants on buffet at any one time where there were about 30 guests waiting for bread, when they came mine were frozen solid in the middle I complained as could not eat them but was told this is how they arrive so nothing can be done also reception said yes we know but did nothing so had to go without breakfast at least their coffee is good, when you stay in a 4 star you expect some service but this hotel had0
Well decorated rooms, great location. Requested extra bed, which was not available, so had to get extra room with full price but wasn't like the other rooms.
The views were amazing and the room was very comfortable
Our room (210) had two balconys over the Grand Canal, with superb views in all directions. The room is fabulous - tastefully modernised with many original features maintained, as the rest of the hotel was. A really indulgent way to see Venice. However, the staff were surly at breakfast, which was only average. In short, a superb building in a peerless location, with snooty staff.
Nothing We did no receive booked Deluxe room. Our room was very poor, small and noisy. Staff said only "Sorry" and smiling. There is no any restaurant or cafe for dinner. Very expansive for their service.
Excellent surroundings beautiful furnishings ideal location value for money. Breakfast excellent. No bar staff!
The hotel building is old but inside was a mixture of old and new ( which we liked very much) also in a very good location. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was smaller than we would have liked. At breakfast we would have liked a pot of coffee on our table and a menu to say what cooked items were on offer that day/everyday.
The hotel was central, yet secluded. Perfect.
Clean, comfortable room, with excellent location, and pleasant staff who were helpful in providing tips and suggestions for our first visit to venice.
Location on the Grand Canal and very close to a vaporetto stop is fabulous. We stayed in a junior suite, which was very roomy and faced the canal with a fabulous view. Double glazing kept out most the canal traffic noise which we rather liked anyway! I think other rooms face over a lovely garden area at the back which may be quieter. Terrific bar area downstairs which looks out towards the canal and there is a water taxi pick-up service at the hotel's own dock. Staff were very helpful and friendly. A great experience and we will certainly stay there again on our next visit to Venice.
This hotel is a recently renovated 16th century palazzo on the Grand Canal in Venice. Our room was quite small, but adequate and had a nice view of the Grand Canal. The bathrooms have bathtubs and are an nicely done and an adequate size. The hotel is 15 minutes by foot from St Mark's Square which we liked as it was somewhat away from the main tourist area. However, it was easy to go to St. Mark's by foot or boat. The entrance is somewhat hard to find the first time, and the rooms are quite small, but per above, still work.
This hotel was very close to st marks square and right by the ferry bus stop. This d'hôtel room was quite small and expensive for what was offered.
The hotel is very luxurious. We stayed in a junior suite which was fantastic, superbly designed and had great views of the canal. The hotel staff were very attentive yet very discreet. We would highly recommend this hotel for a comfortable, luxurious stay in Venice. You would need to get a water taxi to the hotel (expensive) as trying to get there by foot is extremely difficult and has no signs directing you to hotel which is down little alleyways.
The situation is very beautiful, and the table in the bar on the balcony is a wonderful place to drink in the afternoon. The breakfast is lovely. The room was very dusty, like it hadn't been dusted for weeks. There's no internet access in the room of any kind even though this is promised. "Most of our customers don't want it," I was told. Nonetheless it was promised & I wanted it. We had no hot water for showers: when I enquired about this I was told, "there is a fault," but no alternative was offered. One of the staff members I spoke to (not all, I hasten to add) was very rude and dismissive. He said that as I was only staying for one night these things shouldn't matter; also that as I had spent three nights at another hotel before moving to this hotel for the (what was supposed to me a much better) last night, that I should have stayed where I was. He was so right!
the staff was nice but not really aware of what was happening in Venise whereas we went there for the Biennale and the Mostra... They did not have any programme or map...
Wonderful Hotel. Arrived hot and bothered but room was ready and nice and cool (thank god for a/c). Helpful friendly staff, very nice breakfast. We booked the Barbarigo for our anniversary and wanted somewhere classy and certainly found it here. Everything is clean and new looking, nice view from the second floor breakfast/bar area, there is even a table and chairs on the balcony for a more intermite meal! Get the Vaparetto to the S. Toma stop and head right, when you reach the little square with some glass shops and the rear enterance is tucked away on the right or alternativly get a private taxi to the front door!
Beautiful location, friendly staff. Poor bar service, slightly overpriced, but to be expected from the location. Only slight disappointment was dusty rooms with no air conditioning and very hot/stuffy. Apparently the air con is only switched on in summer.
Tha barman Marco was excellent! Breakfast was basic and room was a bit too dark
Fantastic location and excellent staff.
Very intimate and unique.
Magnificent setting, luxurious room. Service was perfect, attentive without being oppressive. The best hotel we have stayed at in Venice.
the bathrooms in luxury rooms fantastic . staff were so friendly and very helpful
the staff is good the location is not bad the price is good the room is very small ,was not clean with a bad smell ,there also a Mosquito which turn or stay to a nightmare ,the direction to the hotel isn't enough ,we were travelling with a back bag so they wrote in the web that buses # 14 and 23 will going to drive us in front of the hotel which is not true you have to walk for 10 to 15 mins. , the breakfast was very pooooor and finally the internet access is only in the lobby not at the rooms as they said i don't recommend it for any one
Location, location, location - perfect Stairs - way to many with luggage
It's a great little hotel. Small room, but very clean and comfortable. The bathroom was big and the shower was good. Looked like it had recently been remodeled, everything was in good condition. Breakfast was good and the staff was very friendly. We've already given a business card to a friend and would definitely stay there again. The location was the best part of all - right on the grand canal. The stairs weren't a problem for us, but people definitely need to be aware that you have to walk up about 70 steps to get to the desk and the rooms.
stay in main area of interesting point of city
The staff and the view!! The steps.
free internet The hotel was on the top floor of the building, some 70stairs, no lift, the hotel was averge, but I have no experiace to compare
The hotel was clean and most of the staff were quite helpful and friendly. The breakfast room overlooked the Grand Canal and that was quite nice. We didn't like that we had to climb so many flights of stairs with our luggage and it was on the top floor. It was also a little more difficult to locate since we'd come in from the airport and had to take a bus/boat to find it. On the hotel website, it only gets people to the main terminal, but it doesn't mention anything past that so we assumed that the hotel was in that location. This was frustrating, especially after hours of flying and then not understanding the language, where to go for tickets, which direction to go, etc.
free wifi internet and clean rooms high price and low level brakefast!
Very good location. Close to Rialto Bridge and with Grande Canale view. Most of the rooms do not have the view but the breakfast room has. Room was clean, has large bathroom, has complimentary tea coffee facilites in the room(instant coffee and kettle etc), and amazing walls and furniture. Lastly lte hotel offers free wi-fi connection. If you are old or weak you may have difficulty climbing the stairs.
The continental breakfast was served to the room. Staff was very friendly.
The interior of the hotel was beautiful and the location was ideal Yes, we booked a double room with a bath and when we arrived the only room available to us was a twin room with a shower, the hotel staff were very unhelpfull and we had to stay in the twin room for the first night and the second nite we were moved to a double room with a shower only, still no bath. On checking out we paid the full quoted price for 2 night b&b for a double room with a bath. Most disapointing!
The staff at the hotel went out of their way to make our stay pleasant. We would have liked access to a hotel computer to use at our convenience. The staff was very helpful and let us use their computer to send a note home but one in the lobby for our use would have been nice.
The room was good, staff were very helpful and the breakfast was good. The lack of a bar in the hotel.
The location Very poor service, average room setup/ deco, relatively loud at night
Beauty of rooms with mix of very contemporary facilities and location.
We thought our room was beautiful and thought the size of the hotel was just right.
Hotel was ideally placed for sightseeing and was very clean and comfortable. I would definatelyuse again.
location staff is not trained enough, I was expecting more considering level and price.
We absolutely loved our stay at GiuliettaRomeo, the room was great, breakfast was excellent, staff was always very helpful, location is very central and you can easily walk around to all the major attractions and also to the waterbus stops... loved it, will recommend it to our friends and family that travel to Venice, and will stay there again. It exceeded our expectations. Nothing! Just keep up the great work!
everything, from the staff to breakfast to location everything actually. i'll visit this hotel again for sure. nothing at all, only they don't clean the room in the morning , mayby becauce we closed the room ??!
I liked the fact that there were only four rooms and the staff there were amazingly friendly and did everything they could to help us! the fact that we had to share a bathroom with four other rooms but that was only because i was bursting for a wee one morning and had to wait because the other rooms had some sort of tag team going on to get into the shower!
Beautiful room, queen comfy four poster bed with a view of the canal, Minutes from Fish Market, Rialto Bridge, Vaporetto stop. Breakfast room is cozy. Bathroom was sparkling clean.
The view from the hotel is very good. As well as the breakfast.
Excellent location with great view of the grand canal!! close to the Rialto station and restaurants. Friendly service from the owner... good coffee/espresso machine! This is not a walk-in BB. The owner is only at the BB for a window of time, I had to wait for the maid in the AM to show before checking in during the afternoon. No way of contacting staff if owner's away. Suggestions: 1. shower curtain 2. have a phone in house to contact the owner
the perfect location and the view on the canale Grande the was no separate toilet. The shared bathroom included the shower and the toilet. This can be inconvenient.
Alex, the owner of this B&B is very helpful. His room and breakfast are very great too.
Our hotel stay was fabulous. The owner, Adriana, is extremely friendly and well-spoken in English (as well as Italian and French!). She provided lots of food for our breakfast, as well as plenty for a snacks. We could have espresso every morning if we wanted to! Our room was comfortable, and our bed even had what felt like a memory foam mattress topper. When we arrived early from our cruise ship, we were able to get right in to the B&B and drop our suitcases before heading out on the town. Our room was even ready, and she was more than happy to let us in (and we even made use of it for an afternoon nap!). The view of the Grand Canale was so charming. Shopping is easy access, and it is only a 3 min walk to the Rialto Bridge! The only thing is that the door handles/ door locks are very loud as they turn. So, with another room next to ours, we could hear when they went in and out of their room and the bathroom. But it is not a big enough problem to keep us from staying there again.
We stayed here for one night and couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. The double rooms with a shared bathroom were spacious and had a great view of the Grand Canal. Breakfast was awesome and was lovely out on the balcony. Also had a bag storage facility which was good too.
very good location smell in the room from the breakfast, and from cigarettes
breakfast open later alley way outside window was at times very noisy especially in middle of the night, people laughing, walking, restaurant workers talking loudy.
The location This place is old, a d that is ok, but if you are going to be an old hotel at least mantain the appliances in optimal conditions, the A/C stopped working at 10 pm in 85 degree heat and the answer from the reception was "im sorry im not sn electritian and i dont have mkre rooms" disaster since i was traveling with my kids and wife who suffered the 85 defree heat throughout the night!
the position was perfect right on the rialto bridge embankment, the cleanliness was superb, felt comfortable and safe, excellent breakfast. First impressions are of a very old and worn hotel, stairs and corridor carpets seemed worn , bedrooms are well kept and bathroom facilities are excellent which made up for the other more disappointing aspects.e
location rooms are too small
Breakfast, location, staff. Lack of internet. Price... but I know it's just Venice...
location poor view
The staff were very friendly and helpful and we had a free upgrade to a superior room. The location couldn't be better in Venice, right by the Rialto Bridge. Nothing
Hospitality Noisy area
Location was excellent, staff provided good recommendations
The staff was incredible. So polite and knowledgeable. The front desk manager (with I could remember his name) was the best we encountered during our two weeks traveling in Italy. It's an older hotel, but well maintained and updated. The location was ideal - right on the Grand Canal and close to water bus stops, and just steps from the Rialto Bridge. It's an older hotel, so there's no elevator but the staff is very good about getting luggage up to, and down from room. Would have like a nicer view, but also didn't want to pay for it. Thought the price was a little steep, but probably pretty average for Venice.
The location is very close to a vaporetto (water bus) stop, making it easy to get around, including with luggage, without needing to use the very expensive water taxis. The shower was incredibly tiny, so tiny that it was nearly impossible to raise my arms to wash my hair. Smaller than a phone booth.
Great location to Rialto Bridge and tons of shops and restaurants. Pleasant staff, willing to hold luggage before and after check-in. Small and off a dark alleyway but around the corner is a water boat stop which means no need to lug luggage over tons of bridges if willing to pay for the water boat. It is above a bar, and it was very loud and late into the evening but Sunday was quiet! Breakfast is very minimal. No elevator, but staff will help if you ask.
The hotel is small & intimate, very few rooms. We arrived before our room was ready & the staff allowed us to leave luggage. The hotel is convenient to two water taxi stops. Good value for the money. We were able to stay in one room w/ a family of five.
It was great and the location is superb. A 30 second walk from the Vaporetto stop on one side and a short stroll to the Rialto Bridge on the other side of the Hotel. Breakfast served in the room was wonderful. Breakfast needs more variety and some fruit. Also staff shouldn't argue for cash payment when they will accept Credit Cards.
Good position. This is not a hotel. No service if you arrive after 18:00, only a phone number for emergencies and the guy on the phone was very rude, didn't want to help me at all. Breakfast is very, very poor - just 1 tiny croissant. Very loud neighborhood; hotel very difficult to find.
no bath tub
The hotel facilities where good. The room was appartment and overlook the square. The breakfast was simple but good. The location was right near the Rialto bridge shops and markets and was excellent for exploring.
The hotel is located within 3 minutes walk of the Rialto Bridge and right off the Grand Canal. The stay was reasonably priced -- a good deal for the accomodation and central location. There is no on-site hotel clerk. Check-in is via Skype by a clerk located at another hotel 5 minutes away. Our room was nothing fancy and could use some updating. The furniture definitely had seen better days -- especially new matresses as we could feel the springs on the ones we slept on. (Nevertheless, the room was quiet and we slept well.) The included breakfast consisted of a roll, condiments, a croissant and coffee -- all delicious but a bit skimpy. It was generally clean but not spotless. Overall, I would stay there again but my wife would prefer not to.
Small place. Like all hotels in Venice. Too expensive. Not value for money.
room not in main hotel, felt like someones apartment, was large and quiet . breakfast sreved in room locatin was excellent breakfast was very limlted on sunday ,better on mon , fruitjuice would have been good. no drinling water bed struts fell out, we got bitten in bed
location, friendliness of reception breakfast: coffee too thin, no big choice, after 3 days boring
Location, staff, breakfast, cleanliness, beds
small, personal hotel
everything having to leave!
Excellent, immaculately cleaned, comfortable rooms, helpful staff, centrally located. Could do with another english speaking TV entertainment channel, other than CNN, but I'm being over fussy here!
Good location, efficient and helpful staff, room excellent value.
The staff were really friendly and of great assistance. The room was really clean. Breakfast in the courtyard was fantastic.
The friendly, personal service & the magnificence of the room. Very handy to Rialto & the markets. The women in the residence above clip-clopping about in her high-heeled shoes early in the morning.
