Clean, quiet, location No hot tub in the pool area
Sizable room with modern amenities with a very comfortable bed and pillows. Friendly, helpful staff. Great workout room. Convenient central location. Large, sociable bar and lounge area. There was a stain on my sheets; could tell that it was something that had been washed/dried into place, but still a little disappointing for a hotel chain of this quality. I was given a room accessible for persons with disabilities, which I was fine with, but was not asked by the check-in staff first. The only downside to the accessible room was that the doorless, tubless shower got water all over the bathroom floor and soaked the bathmat regardless of how I adjusted the shower-head. Really, these are just minor inconveniences from an otherwise great hotel. Would definitely come back.
Great location, beautiful pool (with very accommodating hours) and clean & comfortable room. Very friendly, helpful staff.
Hot apple cider in the lobby was a nice touch. Complimentary Wi-Fi not included?! Considering the room rates, I found this outrageous. Felt like a 3rd world country.
The hotel does not offer Reward points when I book through Kayak
Location is good. Beds not comfortable at all. Internet didn't work, unacceptable considering there is a extra charge Keep a bottle of water in the room!!
We could walk to everything we wanted to do. It was NFL Draft and Penn Relays weekend so the room wasn't cheap - we wanted to stay 3 nights but could only afford 2.
Staff was excellent. Location great for location to market and historic visit to Philadelphia.
The room was very clean and our stay was pleasant. The hotel is the place to stay if attending an event at the civic center.
Too big if anything. 8 minutes to get to/from room
Central location, clean rooms, many hotel amenities, ease of check in and check out, responsive stadd. Room too small. Was told I would get two Queen beds and larger room and did not receive. Terrible view of construction site.
The hotel was very clean and cosy. The food was great as well. I highly recommend 13 Restaurant for breakfast and lunch. We asked for a room with two beds; one bed for me and my wife, and the other for our son. However, when we arrived, I was told that only single-bed rooms were available, so I had to order a bed for our son. Though, after two hours and three calls to the front desk, it never came and the three of us had to sleep in one bed together. Additionally, I didn't appreciate having to call downstairs and wait half an hour for a shower cap. Those should definitely come included with the room.
My friend and I stayed for only 1 evening to see a concert at the Electric Factory.
Very friendly staff. Great view of the city from my room. Walls are thin, and you could here the neighboring room to well.
Great location; in the heart of Center City Philadelphia. Expensive parking.
Location & room were great Air conditioning was bad, after repair it was barely adecuate
The staff was gracious and helpful Dust covered the room and the toilet had cardboard trash in it upon arrival. Staff took care of the problem after being notified. The cost for parking at $45.00 a night was ridiculous.
Robes, shower was nice , room was quiet. 4 large men given a king bed and a roll away .... We didn't fit in beds comfortably, one ended up sleeping on the floor. Valet parking took a long time and left all 4 windows down in my car.
Front desk was very accommodating upgraded us to deluxe king room upon check in Concierge not very helpful. Asked twice for recommendations on transportation and wanted to push private car which was theost expensive option vs any other public transportation which we opted for.
Location was prefect for walking around town to all the sites
The room was very comfortable and yet stylish. The location is absolutely perfect. The highlight of our stay was the incredibly attentive and friendly staff. We highly recommend staying at Loews Philadelphia Hotel!
The staff and hotel were wonderful. They ran out of cucumber water, but we did drink a lot of it.
The valets were very friendly, helpful and accomadating. Room was clean and the tv had a great HD picture. Check in staff ignored me while I stood there staring at them waiting to check in because they were on the phone. As soon as they were done some jerk jumped the line because he wanted to talk to a manager and they catered to him for another 5 mins before helping anyone else. Room smelled like stale cigarettes and the bathroom sink wouldn't drain.
Excellent location, exceptional staff, great restaurant and bar. Nice room and a comfortable bed as well as a pretty good WiFi connection (best I have experience in a while at a hotel). Walls were a little thin. We could hear people in the hall coming and going as if they were almost in the room.
Clean rooms City Hall views Lobby bar with friendly bartender Friendly and accommodating front desk staff Diminutive gym Broken solar shade in room
The friendly atmosphere in this stylish, classy hotel. The rain.....but the hotel had complimentary umbrellas in the entrance hall.a very welcome touch as we'd forgotten ours!
Interesting hotel since it had been a YMCA before The elevator gave a lot of trouble.
Clean,comfortable and welcoming
Nothing The valet misinformed us about the parking. They strongly recommended we pay 50$ for valet parking rather than on the street. The hotel room was not very ideal or modern for the price. The towels and bed sheets smelled as if they had not been changed or washed. The hotel did NOT provide amenities, and the shower products provided were very low quality and would not use them on my body. There are plenty other choices in Philadelphia and would not recommend this La meridian.
Staff was absolutely amazing!!! Location is two blocks away from convention center, reading terminal market and major attractions. We stayed in a interior room and didn't hear a sound. We will def stay here every time we visit Philly. Rooms are a bit on the small side. Lighting is very dim in the room.
The room was modern and aesthetically pleasing, with comfortable beds and linnens. It's not a big issue, but they gave me the wrong room type, and overall there wasn't a whole lot of attention to detail.
Very modern with a side of vintage appeal. Awesome doorman Old hair dryers. Scratched mirrors. Dirty Windows.
They checked me in early and we're so very accommodating No complaints
There are many homeless persons in the neighborhood. A shuttle service from the hotel to areas friendly for public transportation would be desirable.
Clean, comfortable, friendly staff. Great location for conferences. Free bottled water and cold towels were highly appreciated during the summer heat wave.
Nothing Located next door to a halfway house for addicts, homeless people laying and sitting on the sidewalk all around the building, no secure parking area within ??? miles, staff totally unresponsive to questions about safety for guests and their vehicles. We left and went to another Hampton located in Vineland approximately 30 miles away due to the safety issues. Somone from your organization has to contact me as we did call your 800 number and got somebody in India that said they could not help us. I want you to refund us our money and if I have to take a full page ad in all major newspapers advising people what kind of service you provide I will. Water from gym Pull out sofa was terrible
The serving and kitchen staff at the continental breakfast were so friendly and helpful. They also proved a great breakfast and it's complimentary. Every staff member I encountered were helpful and polite.
Comfortable beds and spacious suites Pull out bed was very uncomfortable.
Great location, comfy bed, warm breakfastand great staff There was no restaurant inside or attached with exception of a bar that served appetizers from 5-10
That we had to pay for parking on top of our hotel room.
The hotel is well-located (right across street from convention center) and comfortable. The staff was friendly & helpful (especially our housekeeper on the 8th floor - forgot her name!) Parking is a half block down in a small outdoor lot and is expensive! The staff there (private company-not hotel) was incompetent.
location was great, everything was fresh and clean, the staff was AMAZING!! the bar was great, breakfast was hot and tasty. I paid for a king sized bed room. i got a double full. they said sorry, gave me a free drink. but still. i wanted a romantic evening, and this didn't ruin it, but it wasn't what i had in mind when i booked it.
mini bar; breakfast; go bags
Hotel was clean, staff was attentive and courteous. The rooms were beautifully appointed, and when our booked room wasn't available, we were upgraded into a corner room executive suite overlooking historic City Center. Pool wasn't heated.
It would be nice to have some kind if discounted parking. Also, we had dinner in the hotel's restaurant and would only give it 1-2 star. Would not eat there again.
The hotel was beautiful, the employees were very kind, and the room was perfect for our overnight stay. We walked to the Reading terminal market, and we were across the street from the subway station. Couldn't have asked for a better location! The valet parking was a bit pricey but it was very convenient and no stress.
When I arrived to the marriott to find out kayak never reserved my room, the kind marriott staffer jumped into action (and also revealed this was the 4th time that week that he had to deal with kayak's inefficiency)
This was out 4th time staying and it was just as before. Clean friendly convenient and FANCY! It's a little hard to grab a cab/uber out front, but that's the city. No reflection on the hotel at all.
I loved the building it was very classic Philadelphia and very comfortable. It was very clean and the rooms were well kept. The bed was extremely comfortable! The night staff didn't seem as up beat as the morning staff - but then again they are working nights. They did their jobs and got my room key to me in very little time. :)
Location My room was not ready till 5pm.
Location is good, although there are 2 different Marriott hotels next door. We went to the wrong one first and already had valet parked our car before we realized it was the hotel next door. Received an email confirming room would be ready by 3, upon arrival at 4 we were notified room was not ready and would be 45min. We were told they would call us when ready but after hour an a half of no call we went back to find there was a credit card issue which could have easily been resolved if they would have called. Wasted time wandering around downtown
Everything, location was great for everyone to enjoy. There's a Marriott with full service next door, a Hard Rock and bunch or restaurants. Is also located on a historical area. N/a
We had a wonderful stay at this clean modern hotel... It's location could not have been any better. Will definitely stay here again.
The room was gorgeous and the staff were very nice. The bed was way too soft. And the walls are thin so we we were woken up through the night by a group next door to us. We finally called the front desk at 4:30 and they addressed the issue.
The location was great, room and hotel was beautifully decorated, and the price was so reasonable. I would definitely come back! $50 to park your car is kind of expensive but you get a full 24 hours.
Room was dirty and disgusting
Breakfast was very good. Dining room good ambiance. Wait staff were excellent. Air conditioning was too noisy. No night light for bathroom.
So close and convenient to Jefferson Station train stop. If you are planning on using public transport to get from the airport to the hotel and back, you can't beat the location. It was also close to restaurants and within walking distance to historic Philadelphia attractions. Was traveling with my seven year old and I felt safe in the neighborhood. Staff was very friendly and very helpful! Restaurant in hotel had good options. Everything was clean and in good shape. Pool area and exercise room left a little to be desired but were good enough for my son to enjoy and for me to get a vacation sized workout.
Location and clean No parking available. Full size SUV would not fit in the local garage we had to park few blocks away from The hotel at $40 am night and we got charge every time we parked. Wifi was slow
The maid services was very helpful. The staff downstairs was unfailingly friendly, even with the difficult customer in front of me. I loved my stay. I kept running out of creamer and asking for more. I probably just use too much. They always brought it up for me right away.
The staff answered questions. They were well trained My husband and I were bit by bed bugs. There were you ha kids running around the entire hotel all night long making noise. We attempted to go in the pool many children unsupervised over crowded. I'm sure many of the teenagers who were staying at the hotel had no business being there
onvenient, good service, clean room
Very convenient location for visiting our local office. Congested area, difficult parking, lots of traffic. (standard downtown Philadelphia)
Right in the city close to lots of tourist destinations. Beds are incredibly comfy, and loved the microwave/fridge/keurig combo. Very close to some dodgy parts of town. Parking is outrageously difficult to find on street (and I'm from NYC). Just pay the insane fee for the parking garage, it's worth it. On street is $9 for3 hours anyways. The hotel itself wasn't terrible with clean rooms, a pool/hot tub area and decent exercise facilities. The whole place was a bit dark and I felt compelled to turn on all the lights in the room and it still felt dark. Other than the hotel feeling dark and a bit old it was a pleasant stay.
Great location getting to the convention center!
Convenient location, helpful staff. Complicated garage access.
Location central to everything we came to do. Everything was great! Staff was very friendly and helpful.
My room had everything I needed. The location is excellent. The hotel offers free wifi and hot breakfast. They charged me $70 for incidentals at check in without telling me about the amount. I noticed it, because my credit card company emailed me about the charge. Also there was a strange charge ($0.01) after check out. I need to figure out what it was for.
Not a good bed at all. Otherwise everything was pretty good. Nothing special though.
Located right in the city center. Easy to get around to popular locations. Affordable price. Nice room decor and bathroom. Staff was clueless, poor communication between each other. Check in was supposed to be at 3pm I arrived at 4:45pm and still had to wait 20mn for my room! Found blood on one of my pillows. Was woken up at 2am by the fire alarm, with no follow up announcement from the staff, and then had to go all the way down to the lobby to figure out what was going on and was told it was because there was no staff in the lobby and someone tried to get in without a keycard which turned on the alarm. Then the next morning when I went to check out I was asked how my stay was and I said "interesting to say the least" and mentioned the 2am alarm to the receptionist who then gave me a completely different story saying now it was because a gentleman left the hot water on his shower and fell to sleep, leaving the steam to turn on the alarm. So are they just making up stories?! The most upsetting part is that after all this I wasn't offered obsolutely anything for my distress. Nothing complimentary not even a piece of candy, to think they would want to make customers want to come back or feel atleast somewhat of sympathy for anything that went wrong. Nope, nothing at all! I was close to recommending this place and staying here on my next visit to Philadelphia, but after the horrible customer service i would tell everyone to stay away!
The location, and at first the room which had comfortable beds, 4 pillows each, clean towels, nice view, and friendly staff. What you would expect from a Sheraton Hotel. Cleaning was not done on our second day, and it was poorly done on the third day. There was no fan in the bathroom and mold began to grow behind the sink on the third day. No microwave or frig. Dirty carpet and closet door.
Nice scam. Needed a 48-hour cancellation notice. Unfortunately I didn't know I wasn't going to make it until 24 hours prior. Nice way to make money. 100℅ margin!!
Located next to the convention center , very close to highway. No parking only street parking. it was 25$ for the day so it wasn't too bad. Rooms did not have a fridge. When I asked if I could store something in the fridge they turned me down :( Also, the shower walls were a bit worn down which was a bit unattractive looking
Nothing. The hotel isn't a bad place to stay, as long as you lock up your personal property. I had a watch stolen out of my room. A watch I placed in my bag the night before, under some clothes. Hours before checkout, my watch is missing. I then reported my watch stolen to the front desk and the housekeeping manager. Magically my watch appeared. Then I was told, in order for me to have my watch returned to me, I would have to pay for shipping. Yep, I would have to pay to get my stolen property back. Do not stay here!!! Or leave your valuables.
Clean, nice size room, great staff, good rate. One of the beds was very hard. Despite being on the 7th floor lots of noise from the street.
Comfortable rooms. This hotel's lobby looked very nice however it smelled horrible. I think because they are near the convention center tunnel they have a problem with beggars trying to take refuge in their lobby.
Great price and location.
The place was very convenient and near where I needed to be; it was very clean; it had all the accommodations that I would have expected for the price The bed was too close to the heating unit that cycled on and off in a noisy fashion
The amazingggggg staff especially crystal the front office manager and Kareem the front desk receptionist Wifi didn't work my entire stay (stayed 2 nights) and the parking situation is horrible
There were 2 employees staffing breakfast. One was obviously in her 1st day or 2 on the job and the other was a jaded and unhappy experienced staffer. The new trainee did all in her power to help, but at 8:40, there were: no plates, no cups, no eggs, no meat, both apple and orange juice was out and the staff was nowhere to be seen. When I approached the experienced staff, she acted smug and put out to bring any of it. Guests were milling about grumbling. The small refrigerator holding yogurt could not be completely closed (lock was extended) and therefore the inside continued to get warmer and warmer per the thermometer on the unit. Again the attendant did not seem to care. Other than the breakfasts, which were horrible experiences both mornings we were there -- the rooms were fine (we did have to have maintenance turn our A/C on as the room get stuffy and the control did not work). Front staff was kind and attentive. Note: Rooms facing the front of the building will hear road traffic from the interstate in front of Vine Street. If that's okay, I'd still avoid this hotel until they resolve the employee issues related to breakfast. She simply was not happy with her job and it absolutely showed. Blah. Not worth the hassle when there are so many other hotels near there with less stress in the morning for lower rates.
My room had a broken shower, no hot water, broken toiket, and something wrong with the electric. Terrible. Shouldn't have been charged for my stay since I had to use other rooms to shower and use the bathroom.
Find something else.
Staff was awesome!! Room was loud, but to be expected
Room was clean and staff was friendly. Although located near China town, which my son enjoyed, there were homeless people hanging out close to the hotel.
Located downtown and easy to get to everything. Small, old, noisy, drafty. Cost high for basically an indoor motel. Breakfast was not good.
Hotel staff was friendly and efficient and the room was clean and exactly what we needed. It looks like an older hotel from the outside, but inside it is well cared for and looks like it may have been renovated recently. We stayed in a one bedroom, which had updated furniture and the bed was very comfortable. The room also had water and a coffee maker inside which was a pleasant surprise as I had expected a barebones room. We had a room at the end of the hall and didn't hear anyone in any other rooms. We walked from the hotel to Independence Hall, the Art Museum, Eastern State Penn, and Walnut Street, and found it a slightly long but comfortable distance to each, so it was a good central location. Also, we did not park with the hotel, but at a nice parking garage in Chinatown, which is just down the street from the hotel. With a voucher from the hotel, parking was very reasonable for downtown Philadelphia. All together the hotel was a good value for the price, especially since I booked the room only a short time before our trip. The bathroom could use a little work, it was clean but the ceiling was flaking and had stains, and the floor and shower just looked a lot older than the rest of the room. Also, the shower's hot and cold water was reversed, but we figured it out quick and didn't have a problem with it. My only other concern isn't with the hotel itself, but with the location of a homeless shelter on the same block. Not realizing this we left our car parked on the street across from the hotel and happened to come back to it at the same time they were serving lunch. We came back to our car surrounded by about every homeless person in Philidelphia. I just would have parked elsewhere if I had realized this, so FYI for future patrons.
Location Was handed room keys but room wasn't cleaned. Found a com don wrapper after it was cleaned. The AC stopped working for a few hours
The person at the front desk was amazing. While checking me in, he was nice, kind, thoughtful and very very helpful. I was only there for one night to take my exam the next day but he made sure my night was comfortable! He answered all my questions and helped in any way possible. He had a list of restaurants ready to go, I just named the cuisine and he handed me names of all nearby good restaurants. When I asked about parking, he told me about all the options (cheap and safe) nearby. I didn't have to worry about anything other than my exam! Thank you!
The cleaning staff were very good The women at the front desk was not very friendly. I asked her for a 9 AM wake call which she didn't do
The hotel was the cheapest I could find in center city, and I'm glad I chose it. I was just in Philadelphia for an audition, so I didn't need anything fancy. The room was small, but immaculate, every employee I came across (and I mean every) was kind and the front desk was very helpful numerous times. Easy proximity to Broad Street and SEPTA. Overall, I'd gladly recommend this hotel to anyone who needs a no fuss hotel for a quick trip. (Also I'd like to note the elevator was fine, the maids were very thorough, and there were no loitering homeless people). My grievances are generally small, but they added up enough to knock off a star. No fruit at breakfast and no outside windows were a bother, but not a tragedy.
Location, staff was rude, elevator was broken, breakfast in basement....never stay there! shelter outside door...people laying on the sidewalk.
Convenient location, the staff was helpful and accommodated our requests. Nothing inherently wrong with the room, typical budget hotel. WiFi worked fine. If you just need a place to crash for the night and don't want to spend any time in the hotel, this is fine. The number one most bizarre and bad thing about this hotel was that there were no windows to the outside in your room. Dark and cell-like. Not that you would have wanted to, because the direct surroundings were pretty bleak. There was, however, a useless and creepy window directly into the hall which was covered only with curtains. Why would you leave this feature in a hotel room? It made us really uncomfortable. This was enhanced by the fact that the area outside of the hotel was really swarming with homeless people. It's not their fault of course, but they were coming and sitting in the lobby, and the entrance into the hotel room hallways was not locked. This made us feel rather unsafe. Lastly, the walls were paper thin. Nothing they can do about that. Way way way overpriced for a really terrible hotel, only good for a place to crash in a convenient location that isn't a hostel or something.
Great location, clean and nice facilities, helpful staff.
Very close to convention center. No frills hotel but clean.
Not a bad location, right on the edge of Chinatown. You are in a good central spot in the city and walking distance from the reading terminal market. Staff was extremely friendly. Lack of amenities hurts the score. Their 'business' center is on computer in the lobby and there is no pool. Could not find a fitness center anywhere even though I was told there was one. Did not make it to breakfast, so no comment there.
