Location Checking in 1/2 hour before I was supposed they said have to wait 1.5 hours for room but spoke to manager and she fixed that
Easy access to the rest of the city The TV was old and didn't work very good. It was also hard to see the bed from the other single bed
Very convenient for the CBD and the tourist bus & tram The hotel won an award in 2010 for renovations - i don't think they checked room 728. While my hotel room was cleaned every day thoroughly - it was disappointing to see such stained carpet; also as the ventilation in the bathroom was not good, there was a faint smell of "drains"
Location of the hotel and helpfulness of the staff. The room was not cleaned until late in the afternoon.
Unable to open windows - air conditioning either too hot cold or too cold. Very claustrophobic.
The service and cleanliness Very goog experience and proximity of the center of the city
The location is great and the rooms are pretty basic. You get what you pay for. There was no "do not disturb" sign to put on the door so housekeeping would let themselves in without so much as a single knock. I could have been naked. Noise from the hall filtered into the room so as a light sleeper I had trouble with that. Wanted to have a look around the hotel because of the heritage but got told off by one of the staff.
decor breakfast could have had more selection and real heinz baked beans
comfortable bed not really - a little noisy
Excelent central location, close to shops and Railway station, clean and tidy all services adiquite ,decor average. To describe our room as Deluxe would require a vivid imagination.Good basic at best.
friendly staff, convenience of hotel, air conditioning, quietness price
Staff very friendly and helpful. Location to see all of Melbourne excellent. The air conditioning in our room was poor and it got quite hot.
his is a fantastic hotel its very luxurious. The pillow were very uncomfortable thats al.
The Hotel was chosen for it's luxury & location. It did not disappoint. All the facilities and staff were first class.
The view of the river and the great concierge. first room was not a river view as stated, but this was corrected.
lobby entrance, staff, elegance, lighting
Very friendly staff and great facilities. Hotel charged rate different to booking.com
Room was great, public areas great and staff very very good Excessive charges for internet
Breakfast was a rediculous price as was Internet connection.
We look forward to staying at The Langham Hotel again when we next visit Melbourne. Our every need was catered for with grace and cheerfulness. This is a 'happy' hotel from room staff, to people on reception, concierge, and those servicing gourmet venues. Small but important details like bottled water beside the bed each night distinguished this hotel from others we have stayed at.
What a gorgeous place!!! The attentiveness of the staff was fantastic. the food was wonderful - I ate at the Melba and although it was exspensive it was exceptional food. The room was lovely. My primary reason for selecting the hotel was the old world charm of the hotel. I don't see value for money in modern hotels. I booked 2 rooms for myself and my husband, our older son and a family friend and would do so again. We all had a massage at the Chuan Spa which I found was outstanding. The staff there were amazing and the masseur although young was extremely talented and well trained. Overall I would highly recommend this hotel. If you like comfort and extreme luxury and to be surrounded by beauty. I think it is the best in Melbourne.
George, the front door greeter was amazing. Very helpful and friendly.
The club lounge
The new rooms were very comfortable..great views Even tho we have stayed there before they put us in an old room ..we asked to be changed...they recovered well
The club room was excelent just need a sellection of hot breakfast in the morning, and more sellection of beverage, but everything was good. sellection or type of pillow in hte room.
very friendly, obliging staff I am a smoker. The GH should find a way to accomodate guests who smoke within the hotel.
çity location and the view of the city yes the lack of tea coffee in the room, extra blankets ordered were old and torn, not enough room service and room was small and needs redoing.
a good place to stay when you want to visit melbourne downtown, valet parking service is good. All Astralian hotels have a very high charge on network connection and unreasonable on the charge model, A$0.55 per min, upto A$29 per day, the charge is over 10% of room rent. also, the parking charge is A$35 per day, over another 15%.
Location I didn't like the fact that they had no record of my booking, even after I gave them the booking reference. I had to print out a copy of your email before they would believe me. Either you or the hotel stuffed up. I was told there were no rooms but they then found one upon presentation of the printout. the room was obviously one they don't usually reserve for full paying guests.
It was an excellent location close to many facilities and near teh walk along the Yarra River.
The location was unbeatable and all the main attractions could be reached on foot. Excellent links to rail and tram transport too. Very close to Yarra River and Southbank attractions. They lost my nightdress and I found a cockroach (live) in my hotel room.
Convenient - Reasonably Priced - none
It was in a good location, close to shops and public transport. The Skybus provides a free pick up and drop off service for guests to and from Spencer Street station for the airport transfer. The bathroom/toilet. There was no sort of shower recess and the shower curtain was 3/4 length thus splashing the water everywhere in the bathroom/toilet which made it messy. No conditioner and shower cap available.
close to everything it was lovely and clean suited us very well need more milk
Perfect location, excellent staff.
Fantastic service. Great rate. Parking is a little difficult to navigate, suggest calling the property ahead. still reasonably priced though.
Tv screen setting for wide screen was incorrect
The location in Melbourne is very convenient. One day my room was not cleaned. When I asked why I was told that I had to request it!!!!!!!!! Secondly there was no effort made by one member of staff to find an internet cable in another room. The lack of a smile on the front desk was apparent.
We found this very good value and close to the city. The breakfast wes alsdo good value paticularly if you book it . It is reduced to $13.00. Very clean and the only thing missing was a bar and lounge.
The location On arrival the staff were poor demanding credit card impression and authorisation even though room fee was aid in advance and their was no itemised account available on checkout.
Middle of the city and public transport was really close. Quiet. Really easy to get around .
Location to city When checking out we made comment that the milk for our coffee was off as it had curdled..Only to be told the staff member that that can't happen and we must have been wrong. Very easy to see off milk when it has lumps floating.date on milk was 5 months old
The thoughtfully designed and maintained rooms are great: they're clean, quiet, calm and well-appointed. No basic muesli option in the buffet breakfast - a real oversight. And some equipment in the gymnasium was in a poor state of repair. These are such minor issues, it's hard to complain about anything more substantial.
location and ease of getting in and out of the hotel, facilities and friendly staff. N/A
location was pretty central to the city in bad weather, all hours parking was distant. For those having a rental car, parking is rather important.
I thought everything was fantastic, friendly conveinent,it was a pleasure to stay with you,my only advice to you is that you do something about the problem with the showers,by the time you had 3 people use the shower the water was flowing out the door this maybe needs to be addressed, otherwise it was all fantastic. Other than the shower,no other problem.
fantastic location and very quiet room for city centre -smart finishes, very nice bathroom I found the continental breakfast really disappointing , could have been a lot more interesting .
The whole hotel had a high end feel about it but at a reasonable cost, the staff were fantastic and accommodating. That I only stayed one night.
Good location, Clean well presented room, quiet room, the staff took note of the "Do not disturb" sign and didn't disturb.
no rush, calls answered/and executed perfectly,valet parking 10/10,meals 10/10,comfortwas fantastic.close to the show we attended,friendly staff,at all hours. N/A
The kids loved the little teddy's and chocolates! And we liked the ease of everything. Our room seemed to be quite hot and hard to get the right temperature for sleeping.
staff are kind and friendly no
close to the city and transport romm where we stayed was dark. bathroom needs refurbish and more shampoos soap etc
Quite nice hotel, good location. Although quite good not quite as flash as some others in similar price range. Noise easily heard from nearby rooms.
Staff excellent. Breakfast excellent. Location excellent. Executive room quite small. Bathroom dated. Room generally pretty average, not good enough for the money.
loved the location and the staff were friendly and efficient
The locatrion was great , very central to most venues.
Free Wi-Fi at decent speed, pretty spacious Expensive breakfast - sadly an all too common problem
The location was excellent, right in the heart of the city. Excellent buffet breakfast. Everything was excellent, no complaints at all.
Location very central.very near to flinders station, federation square and everything!!!staffs were great too. No complimentary wireless Internet service!the charge for Internet usage was very expensive!
The room, facilities and staff were international class and that made all the difference - will definetly return. No instructions on how to drive the dishwasher
Great location, rooms and staff. Great breakfast and pool - gym was a bit tight. Nespresso pods (6) was a great idea too
the staff where very helpful and everything was so close. the rooms where very comfortasble and clean, loved it. we have stayed in Melbourne many times and this rates as one of the best places we have stayed in. Definately stay there again.
the comfort, cleanliness, central to the city, great staff. parking out the front was always clogged and was a problem for taxi's.
Attitude of all the staff. Obviously very well trained. The location was excellent for getting to all the locations we wanted to visit.
The Location of this hotel got top marks, cleanliness was excellent, very comfy, staff great.
Our stay at Quay West Suites was fantastic, hotel was so central to all the attractions available in central Melbourne. Our room was lovely and we had the perfect view of the city from our room. The hotels pool, spa and gym were great and next time we return to Melbourne we will definitely be re-booking with this hotel.
Excellent location, friendly staff, geat view Two single beds pushed together is not a king size bed and is uncomfortable with a gap in the center of the bed. Was informed that the room was ready and opened the door to find the cleaner still cleaning. Had to stand there for ten minutes and wait for her to finish.
The greeting on the tv when we first arrived. Not being offered a map of Melbourne on arrival
Great location, very helpful staff, great amenities
staff were excellent. brilliant location. Looking forward to our Christmas week bookings... unfortunately the bed was very uncomfortable!
Was very pleased with room and the comfort of the bed!!! Great sleep and really enjoyed the plasma tv Tv signal was broken / internittant in room 223
Very close to city and transport. Great central location. Queen bed was too firm. Also the air conditioning was not working properly - so room was too hot at night.
The location, comfort and friendly staff.
Its location. Friendly very good desk staff. Cost was good $110 a night for 30 second walk to Swanston st - most central hotel I had stayed in to date. The shower in room 338 was about 1/4 pressure, like a big trickle - horrible, no pressure and had to leave it on full heat because adding any cold water changed the entire temperature to a trickle of cold ! They send you to a locker room to store your suitcases yourself on your day of checkout and charge $5 or $7 a locker to do so !! - terrible for a hotel to lower itself to do this.. Old air conditioners, the noisy ones. Old tv, not digital not many channels 5?. No free breakfast - that might have encouraged me to try it again in the future - but no.
Convenience to city centre and trams
Staff were very pleasant and helpful. The Victoria All Seasons Hotel is situated right in the center of Melbourne's CBD, therefore, absolutely everything is easy to get to, including the transport system.
Great location, very comfortable, safe and quiet.
New room in south wing was very clean and comfortable and a good size. Staff helpful and friendly. Fantastic position in the city. We thought was comparitively good value for money. Views non-existent... this did not worry us.
This is an excellent hotel for staying in Melbourne - it is central and close to the main transport office and hub. We just needed it for one night and it fulfilled our needs - the bedrooms were clean and comfy but badly in need of refurbishment - presumably why the price was so good. They charged to store our luggage.
The hotel was comfortable, clean, and staff were polite. The wifi was unusable it was so slow.
Big thumbs up for the upgrade with the room. Staff very friendly and hotel handy to all the shops and nightlife. Very enjoyable stay and would come again All Good thanks
the fact it is across from Flinders St train station and close to the city
as a train traveller the proximity to the train station was excellent Shower over bath not suitable for older persons.
comfortable bed. pleasant staff. clean room. the layout of the room - the door was situated opposite the bed. Result in lack of privacy whenever door was opened. No extra pillows in cupboard - only 1 pillow per person. Movie option on TV didn't work.
Great location and great staff The bed linen was not clean with hair and marks all over the doona.
Doubletree at Flinders has all the makings of a being lovely hotel -- warm service, well-maintained rooms and in a very accessible location right next to the tram stops and Flinders Station. 3 major drawbacks -- a city centre hotel without free in-room wifi access [there is access at a prohibitive price] is really unacceptable in this digital age, and shows a shortsightedness one does not expect from a Hilton brand. Whether you're travelling on business or leisure in Melbourne, wifi access is a must as this is a city firmly in the digital age, and Doubletree shows it lack of vision by not being up to speed. The pillows were terribly poor quality -- flat, with all the fluffiness gone out of them. Made for a very uncomfortable sleep. Surprising as one would think Hilton would get this fundamental right. The area immediately around the hotel is dodgy -- with vagrants, drunks, homeless and the general underbelly of a city you hope not to see. Not much Doubletree can do about this, though, as it's a sacrifice you make for train access. But if you're a single traveller, and have to move about early morning or late at night, be careful. It may not be the best spot to be in.
The position of the accomodation was very central for travel by train or tram. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The meal we had through room service wasn't very appetizing. I was extremely dissappointed with the house salad. We reserved a twin room but ended up with a king.
We enjoyed the position of the hotel. The service was exelent. Also the price. The gym was great. Missed not having a pool.
The location of this hotel is perfect for trains, trams, city ,walking annywhere. The hotel is situated on a main road and opposite a train station but to our surprise once in your room there was no noise whatso ever. Rooms must be sound proofed and no noise in corridors. Wouls recommend this Hotel to everyone.
Location in the city of Melbourne is fantastic - access to public transport and right in the CBD. Well appointed room - small but very comfortable with modern amenities and decor.
The service & hospitality was great. I really enjoyed my stay. Its close to everything too.
It was a great hotel to stay at. Really good service and staffPlease write at least 15 words
We were in Melb for 5 nights to catch up with family. The site was great 5 minute walk to river, rest and bars and from Flinders Station.
The apartment was fantastic. It had everything we needed and very comfortably accommodated for the 4 of us.
the room was amazing would definately stay there again..
Room size was fantastic and it was close to everything I needed. Walls were a little bit dirty
The pool facilities where great and the proximity of the hotel was fine. Vesy noisy hotel at night , you can hear a lot of traffic noise.
It's in the CBD area The room was disgusting, felt like I was staying in a basement, the view was of a concrete parking lot. Cords and pipes hanging from the roof. The room had nothing going for it. Total disappointment
Fabulous central location amongst galleries, cafes, restaurants and the boutique precinct. Easy distance walking from all transport including the free inner city tram loop. Noisy if other guests were loud
nothing - should have stayed at the Medina again Yes, The hotel did not have my reservation, made to fell like I was an inconvenience. I was put in a ground floor room that when anyone came in at night I was woken by what sounds like the people were in my room. Now I'm chasing $180.98 that was charged to my credit card after I left. I'm in the hospitality industry in Cairns & this has left a bitter taste.
It was our first time in melbourne and the friendly staff couldn't help us enough. The room was ideal for us.
the rooms are a good size and comfortable. Close to shops and transport.
The staff gave great advice on where to shop, eat, transport and local sites.
The staff were a great help, the room was an excellent size and very functional we were very impressed.
The location of the apartment was great, really inner city and close to public transport with taxi rank and trams just down the street and train street just around the block Close time of the pool and spa as we could not access that facility after dinner
Upon arrival, we were upgraded from a two bedroom apt to three bedrooms. This gave our family plenty of space to enjoy our time in Melbourne i.e. we didn't feel the need to leave the apt so our energetic young boys (ages 5 & 3) could run around. Ample space for us all! The spacious bathroom was also an advantage for families. Being near street level, we were open to a certain amount of noise. Luckily, our boys stayed in the back bedroom (now that we could choose from 2 bedrooms for them). People in the upstairs apt were up late and there was plenty of noise on the balcony, partially due to the constant scraping of chairs. This would have woken my children had they slept in the front bedroom (Room 101). I was up late doing work so instead I had to deal with this disruption. My husband stated that he didn't hear anything once he went to bed in the middle room so I was pleased to hear that.
Spacious apartment, good ambience in excellent location for access to shops, river, great restaurants
Friendly Stadd and very helpful unlike Sydney (Darling Harbour)
Hotel was lovely and the rooms were a great size. Would definatly stay there again. Getting stuck in the elevator for 1 1/2 hours on the way to dinner not so great. Trying to sort out compensation of some kind at the moment.
The hotel was really nice. I would definitely recommend for a stay in Melbourne
