Convenient location to Universal and other Hollywood landmarks. Wait staff, rude. Front desk, not helpful. I would not stay here again nor recommend others based off the customer service alone.
Lovely orange color, romantic atmosphere, clean room
From LAX took the super shuttle to the hotel. Room was ready hours before expected check in. Reason for stay was for business conference at Universal Studios. We took the courtesy shuttle both days to Universal in the morning. Upon check out, Terene at the front desk was so helpful in arranging a rental car and checking prices. Would definitely stay there again. My only complaint was I wanted room service from the kids menu and they wouldn't let me because I wasn't under 12.
The bright, open property is contemporary and quiet. The pool area is large, organized and clean. After driving by twice, we finally realized that BG on a building behind a driveway sign advertising a restaurant was the hotel. Pulled up to check in & unload but was whished away by the valet to move the car. Handed him the keys to move it but he declined...kept insisting I move the car to a lot then check in, go back to the lot to get the luggage then I had to move the car to the overnight lot...all because the trolley shuttle was due anytime. This was how our stay began. The resev. request and 2 calls for a ground floor unit went unheard. 7th floor near the 101 freeway & all the freeway noise. No iron/board in the room & waited over 30 mins to get one that was broken. Print your airline boarding pass.... $5.95 per 5 mins. Really? I addressed each concern with the attentive front desk. They waived the parking fee and asked that we please stay & not go elsewhere.
Comfortable, friendly staff and great food
everything. except the elevators were broken. truly hurt me. both elevators probably won't effect your trip but it made mine difficult. besides the elevators, the parking is a bit far but okay. everything else is awesome.
The room was nice. Bed was comfortable. Lots of walking. No valet when I arrived. Self parked - walked to check in - given a parking pass to put in my windshield - walked back to parking lot - back to lobby then out to one of the furthest building on the property. Lots of kids running around. Outdoor or non-airconditioned hallways made for what seemed like a long trip on a hot day. The staff at the check in desk were not busy (I was the only customer at the time) but they didn't bother to tell me there was parking closer to my room.
The pool area was very relaxing and comfortable The pricing for food and drink in the pool area was too high.
Staff Noise Fans Tiny balcony Price
The room, the bed, pillows, shower, and the size of the safe. The daily parking fee of 22.00 and the additional 2.00 for taxes . Our card didn't work in the parking meter. We had to go another one. The a/c vent next to the bed was loud and the a/c kicked on.
Great hotel would stay again.
Everything was stunning. It's a nice hotel surrounded by greenery and a very friendly staff. The rooms were clean and warm. What was nice was that you could walk to whatever you needed and it was all at most a 30 minute walk away. My friends and I went to universal via their trolly and walked home. It was a very plesant experience. The pillows went flat really fast.
room comfortable, good size, in rear, so it was quiet...will go back, if rate is the same or better...happy there..
The proximity to restaurants No room safe.
ambiance, tropical pool area ready for renovation
We love to stay at the Sportsmen's Lodge it is very clean and friendly and has a homey feel. The pool is great for relaxing and the food is great. We love the cafe with the counter and white leather booths. We will stay there again.
The bed was comfortable. Room was dark even with lights on.
The staff here very helpful, room clean, large and a very comfortable bed. No night noise, slept very well. Breakfast was good. No complaints... Good Hotel.
Great location in the Valley (close to Hollywood, Universal Studios, Beverly Hills, shopping, great restaurants etc.) that tourists don't often realize. Good value for money, helpful staff, clean rooms. Also very close to public transportation, which in LA is much better than many people expect. Would definitely stay in this hotel again and will recommend it to friends.
Good location, nice people and near by some good restruant! Far from the others hot spot except universal studio.
Staff was pleasant, bed was comfortable. Location is great. The website says there is a fitness center and shows a photo of breakfast, but there is neither!!
The location and the price The lobby the dining room and the reception are the same 3x3meters room.
it was close to Universal Studios the bathroom was small
Location is great and the price is reasonable relative to this location. Coffee that is served is not very good.
The room was dirty and stinky
I liked the location which enabled me to walk everywhere I needed to be, the architecture and the fact there were always staff around. Eating places were right there and the rooms were clean and comfortable. We needed a little more hand holding to get TV, wifi and showers to work than we should have ( and instructions in a binder in the room would have been all it takes), and the altercation on the balcony outside our room in the middle of the night was allowed to escalate and continue longer than it should before intervention. That said we payed budget prices and got better than budget service so we were happy.
it has an excellent location to walk to universal studios use a good air freshener when rooms are vacant to avoid the humidity odor.
Nothing Bed was uncomfortable and squeaked with every move, very , very little hot water Issues with turning tv on , not clean Would never stay there again
Nothing about the Inn, but it was close to Universal Studios shuttle bus. Rude staff, extremely small parking lot, hard bed. Uncomfortable & dissatisfied. Couldn't get my money back.
This was very much misrepresented, in your pictures My room was so tiny it was difficult to walk in the room. They put me in a tiny room with a window...about 2X2 with the shade pulled down. When I raised the shade there was a block wall inches from the window. The TV was decrepid . (Old) No remote. The air conditioner was so high on a wall I had to stand on a chair (Broken down) to push button controls. Never do business with them or your "Site" again. And, I will warn friends and family about how your site misreprested this HOLE IN THE WALL !!
It's walking distance to Universal Studios. On the Ad it says there is breakfast. There is was no breakfast. At 8:00am I had to ring the door bell to get any coffee. They didn't have anything to eat. The lady went across the street to get me a donut. Very poor service. They should not advertise breakfast, this is misleading.
The hotel was nice and clean. I think they have renovated recently. The location is perfect as the hotel is at the walking distance (10 min) to universal studio and citywalk.
Pro: within walking distance to shuttle for Universal Studios and the bus/subway station. Staff was very friendly and helpful. "Breakfast" consisted of donuts, coffee, and juice. Room was small, but it included AC that worked well, a TV, and a separate bathroom. Neighboring rooms were quiet. Free parking. Close to the freeway. Con: the tiny room was probably 10 ft by 10 ft. The box spring loudly squeaked with any movement on the bed. We booked the room expecting a queen bed, but it was a full bed. Nothing like snuggling up really close. :-) Ice machine is in the office/front desk, so if the office is closed, you have to get the attention of the staff to let you in. Breakfast is also in the small office. AC is located high up on the wall, so we had to stand on a chair to change the settings.
This is the worst hotel in my life and I was on all continents!!! room without windows, dirty carpet, black-beatles in restroom, one word: big disaster
The subway couldn't be more close. Dropped us off just a stone throws away from the hotel. Perfect location for walking to subway and universal studios. Yes, it was a complete dump. But we expected it and choose it for the price and location. Towels were paper thin. Bring your own! Scary lady who offered us drugs and said she LIVED down the hall.
Very close to Universal Studios. (10 minutes walk) Very unfriendly staff. (exept an older lady) The promissed continental breakfast is awfull and there is no service whatsoever. They acted like being unhappy with any guest. Don.t go over here. The Bathroom was not clean enough (espacially round the windows) To much money for this poor hotel.
The location was great! It was neat, clean, and overall a great deal. The bath towels were very small which made for toweling off after a shower interesting.
Nothing Room was tiny, felt like a windowless box, with very ugly decor. Carpeting was disgusting - very old and shabby with cigarette burn holesl A/C unit was so noisy we couldn't sleep, and it didn't cool the room effectively. There was no A/C in the bathroom which was stifling. Hard to put on makeup in there but light so poor in bedroom there was no choice. Bath towels were like thin rags...no kleenex.
The location was good for Universal Studios. My husband and I were not very happy with the accomoodation. The web site states continental breakfast included and all we got was a very small muffin and a drink of fake orange juice. The room was very old and poky with a tv that was so okd it did not even have a remote.
The room was in a relatively quiet position away from the main road There was no extractor fan in the bathroom
The doors locked, the beds were fine to sleep in, but basically everything else was horrible, and we paid over $100. The beds were write up aghast the walls, the shower flooded the entire bathroom, bugs on the bathroom floor, little morning water pressure, no wi-fi -- though said they had it, breakfast were a few muffins, orange drink & a pot of coffee in a little room with no place to sit....I could go on, but this was by far & away, the worst hotel we have ever stayed in...could not believe the positive comments on the site, and believe they must be planted, because I dont know why anyone could fine much of anything positive to say -- especially for the price of over $100.
It was very close to Universal Studios All the towels were dirty and when I told the staff about it they made me fetch the towels for them. The second batch of towels still had one out of three that was unacceptable. One of the bed's comforter had stains on the underside. One of the beds bowed in the middle. The A/C unit started making loud knocking noises at 4 in the morning.
The blanket on the bed was old and had a few holes in it. The carpet was stained and had iron burn marks on it. The shower had moldy spots.
The lady who was in the office was very pleasant and helpful. We were first put into a room where there was much street noise. We asked for a change of rooms and were quickly accommodated to a less noisy room. The second room turned out to be nicer and with more room as well as less noise from the street. The rooms were clean, not fancy, but suited to our plans since we were with family during the day and used the room for sleeping only. Apparently the cable was down for TV and there were only 3 stations to watch. That did not create any problem for us since we were not in the room for any great length of time.
Location was good, ideal for an inexpensive place Fixtures were old but serviceable
Only the location was convienant. The room had a moldy smell. The bed did not seem to be a queen size, the airconditioner was very noisey. The bars of soap provided were extremely small and not usable. The towels were not bath towels and worn extremely thin. The linen did not appear to be crisp clean and the carpet was stained and dirty and in need of a washing or replacemnt. The room was over priced.
The owner of the hotel was very friendly and very helpful Nothing
clean nothing fancy
Room was clean, direct tv with all the channels, close to places to eat. Outside area wasn't the best, next to a motel 6, breakfast area too small.
Clean little retro motel in a hip neighborhood. We were only there for a day but there were enough shops and restaurants to entertain us within walking distance while we waited for friends to pick us up and continue on our vacation. Tiny room for two beds but it was fine for a short stay and everything was updated. Staff was helpful allowing us a pretty late checkout for a small fee... Good parking the tiny room size was a bit tight but as we occasionally enjoy experiencing these 'original' properties it was a non- issue... Towels could have been of better quality
Location Absolutely horrible accommodations or lack there of. Towels were like sand paper and there were about 6 tv Chanel's and they all sucked.
Convent to walk to local restaurants and bars along Ventura Blvd. front desk was nice. Free parking outside of room. Easy check in and out. The room was quite small and could hear street noise if near the street side of the building. There were no extra blankets and the toliet paper wasn't a fresh roll, that bugged me most for some reason. It's ok for a motel, I would prefer to stay elsewhere given the choice.
