Cons: Poor service. Rep did not explain much, including that they would take out a $150 security deposit. She sold me on returning the car empty because gas was cheaper. Then when I returned the car they asked why it wasn't full. Said I didn't have the return empty option and took $120 of my security deposit. I think the rep was more interested to go on her break then finishing my contract.

Pros: Nothing, selection was limited and they didn't even have a mid size available. Not fair for the management to treatment their employees or customers so poorly
Cons: I got to the location at midnight to find 2 employees trying to assist 45 customers. They aren't at fault as I'm sure they would like to have additional employees also so every person they encounter isn't annoyed. When I returned the car they were so backed up cars were so backed up it took 15 minutes to get into the lot and I almost missed my flight.

cheapest but customer service is lacking
Pros: The car was by far the cheapest we could get in the area
Cons: They make up for the cheap cars on their fuel scam and it was nearly impossible to talk to a person on the phone and get problems solved. Our flight out was cancelled due to weather, and we were on hold for like 20-30 minutes waiting for a rep. Once we got to talk to someone, she did not have any authority to make a new reservation for a new day-long local rental or at least waive the drop-off or extension fee (which we had already paid for daily*3) for adding another day onto our original agreement.
The car had some like goop in the cup holder - maybe it was a cleanser?? It also felt wobbly when I drove, but it may have just been the car and not a lack of maintenance.

Then when we arrived the price was a little less than $500 and the people working there made it seem like we had no choice about taking insurance, it was very misleading... LAX Facility needs help
Cons: The pick up experience was HORRIBLE! We booked a luxury vehicle.. on arrival to the facility, there were no cars available. Other customers were just taking whatever car came up as they had been waiting for over an hour. So we had to do the same. The staff was overwhelmed and just because they were understated and not enough vehicles. Seems the company takes bookings even when they don't have proper inventory on hand! VERY VERY poor. We had to go change our car at a different location wasting half a day of our trip to LA. Wont use FOX again!

Terrible to deal with
Cons: I booked a luxury car 2 weeks befor on arrival they charge me for it in the front counter and after went to pickup the car they said don't have luxury car they will offer me lower version. At that time there was a 2 customers with the same issue and the manager didn't care.

Very BAD experience !!!
Cons: Terrible ! The lady in LA office want to double sell the insurance which already included in the reservation, which makes us cannot accept ! And it was very late in night, she would not offer us other options, only ask us to pay or leave, we are very tired and have to change to other car rental company,
Lucky, 1 hours later we rent a SUV with insurance included which is much better price than from FOX for a full size car.
My friend felt very disappoint with FOX !
Cons: They try to up sell you on so many things that you end up paying significantly more than advertised eventhough you decline many of the options. Really wish they would be more transparent on pricing given that I paid twice what I expected to pay! Would definitely recommend going with a different company...

Cons: It took 55 minutes to get through the line for the paperwork to get the car. Three attendants were standing at one computer and taking selfies with a customer while 20+ of us were waiting in line. The whole attitude of the employees were 'we'll get to you when we get to you.' Very unprofessional and telling of the kind of culture that exists at LAX Hertz. Management should be dealt with at this location for allowing a poor culture to affect customers. I will not be renting from Hertz again.

Pros: The welcoming committee, the guardsmen and the gentleman who offered us water upon exiting the gate.
Cons: Our customer service interaction was horrible. Attempting to upsell is one thing, but intimidation to purchase additional auto insurance by undercutting both our private and additional insurance purchased with a company other than HERTZ, does not serve as fine quality client services for future business. Additionally, we initially opted to return the automobile with a full tank of gas instead at the $2.75 rate offered by HERTZ and was told we also need to provide the gas receipt when we return the car. If the tank is full, why would we need to provide a receipt? To a neophyte like ourselves, this experience was truly unnecessary.

Rebooked directly with them over a payphone, we found few miles down the road, at another branch, went to the other branch, $20USD. No car there either. Walked the restoration of the way now ubered.

The old bait and switch
Pros: The car I drove away in was fine, but was not what I reserved.
Cons: I reserved a compact car. When I arrived at the counter I was told none were available, and that I could wait in a long line of people also waiting for cars to come in, or upgrade to a Lincoln for an $80 up charge ( that she would graciously reduce to $25). As it was thanksgiving and I was due at my 84 year old Mother's in an hour, I felt I had no choice but pay the up charge. My rental cost 60% more that I had anticipated.
Pros: Quick service, quick shuttles, courteous agents, car in good, clean condition.
Cons: Upon returning, it was unclear as to where to drop off the car, and unclear as to where to catch the airport shuttle.

Pros: I think we got lucky because the shuttle from LAX picked us up almost immediately. Others said they waited quite a while. Same for drop off service.
Cons: Long wait to get car, think it took about 45 minutes before making it to the counter. Once there the price ended up being about twice what I was quoted for a one week rental.
Car itself was fine, but not worth the price, since I could have gotten it much cheaper through another provider if I would have know the final cost. Needless to say, won't be using Payless again.

Poor customer service
Cons: Flight was delayed. called Payless. they told me that they would only hold car for three hours after original arrival time and that they were sold out after that. They offered no alternative for a situation beyond my control. Won't rent from them again.
Cons: They forced on me buying a full tank even if I explicitly told them I didn't want it, because "it was part of the deal" -- except the fact that then I reread the coupon I had and it was not like that.
My car had a missing parcel shelf.

Worst Customer Service, ever.
Cons: I collected the car, and the man at the desk had added $110 dollars worth of added extras without asking me. I spoke to customer service and they told me i'd have to go back, when I did so the woman was rude and disrespectful. She told me the manager could fix this problem but he doesn't want to, and told me I 'gotta do what i gotta do' in reference to complaining to my credit card company. She went on to tell me the added extras were actually compulsory under Californian law because I have an English accent. Finally when I thought there was resolution after making some fuss and noise, they closed the booking and reopened a new one with an inflated day rate and all of the extras added again, and also changed the drop off point to a different location. The worst service I have ever had.
Pros: The rental center is close to where we stay, walking distance.
Cons: A lot of hidden costs that were not shown during the booking process with Kayak. The price went double from the booking to the actual rental.

Cons: Paid for car rental via kayak in full. Waited for 45 minutes to vetserved. Told representative at desk I did not want any extras. I questioned the accepted personal insurance and was told it was included in the voucher. I repeated I did not want any extras and he said it was included so no problem.
Went to collect car which wasn't there. Had to go back to desk and finally after another 15 minutes got keys to another car.
Rental went OK. Returned car and questioned the fees but was told all included and no extra charges. Upon returning home card had been charged £160. Had to call budget and now they are investigating which will take them 10-15 days. Won't use budget again after blatantly being lied to!

MORE EXPENSIVE THAN I THOUGH
Pros: The shuttle from the airport was good, the car was really clean and low milleage, very well equiped.
Cons: I did a reservation online for a "compact" and when i arrived they told me that there was not compact available so they charged 12 dollars for the upgrade to a "economy".In my reservation the total cost was around 40 dollars but after all i paid almost 120 dollars. BUDGED did not respect the price that they give you onlne. It was really expensive just for one day that i had the car.
RESPECT THE PRICES THAT YOU GIVE ONLINE!!!!!
And fill up the tamk if you do not want to pay almost 10 dollars per galon.

I couldn't rent the car.
Cons: I was on vacation in LA. I rented a car on Kayak to get back to San Francisco. I reserved the car, and paid for the extra allianz insurance. After I got the confirmation mail from Budget, I called them to double check. They said everything is ok.
When I got the Budget office in LAX, they said they couldn't confirm my drivers license ( I have a California license and Turkish license, furthermore I rented a car with Enterprise two days prior to this one, and I rent cars in San Francisco all the time)
Officers were rude, she said take it or leave it. When I asked total estimated cost, she said they only can tell after I got the car.
This was my firs Kayak experience and what I have now is;
-Terrible customer service with no help from both Kayak and Budget
-Around $30 Uber cost to LAX and getting back to downtown.
-All my plans were cancelled, I ended up in a bus back to San Francisco
-I paid $18 to Allianz insurance for a car, which I couldn't even rent.

Car wasn't clean
Pros: The pickup drop off experience was fine with great personnel as usual. Great price for that day
Cons: There was one MAJOR issue. After I was on the road for a while I stopped for a break. When I went to get back in, the sun happened to be shining at just the right angle to reveal vomit chunks on the carpet kind of hidden right below the drivers seat.
I was too far into the drive to turn back so I had to live with this seat-mate for the rest of my 4 hour drive.
It took herculean effort to not obsess over the vomit just a few feet away from my face.
There was heavy car freshener smell so I assume the presence of vomit was known but mayhe they missed it with seat pulled forward and hiding it.
Mistakes happen and I will rent with them again despite this being one of the grossest drives I've ever been on.
I reported this when dropping off but Enterprise has yet to reach out to me.

Would like more transparency in car selection and
Pros: Car we got when we finally got a bigger size was more than adequate to fit our family and luggage. Rental agent was friendly and personable and we got through rental process fairly quickly.
Cons: We called two days before arriving to try and get upgraded to a bigger SUV and were told nothing was available . And then when we got to lot we were told they had all kinds of bigger cars we could upgrade to and were NOT told we would be charged like $30 for upgrading at lot. We have rented from Enterprise on more than one occasion and were unhappy this time and essentially felt tricked in to some of the hidden fees after we were told something else before we got there. In the future I will consider renting elsewhere as I dont like to play games when it comes to finding an appropriate size car.

Exceptional Customer Experience
Pros: Very easy pick up and drop off (two separate airports). Agent asked about what I planned to do while on my trip so that he could help me select the right (fuel efficient) car - as I planned on lots of driving. Liked that I got a courtesy call midway through my rental period, asking how everything was working out. Who does that anymore? At drop off, the agent was truly friendly, not fake!
Cons: The car itself wasn't great (Hyundai Sante Fe), horrible pick-up, hard seats, etc. But great on gas mileage. Served its purpose.
Cons: I was told the car would cost me US$1200.00 but was finally handed a bill for US$2600.00.
I returned the car clean with no damages and full tank!
I am totally devastated!

The worst... Never again
Pros: First, they were understaffed with buses so we stood on the curb as no fewer than13 enterprise buses went by. Two went by completely full. I finally squeezed on a bus and was taken to another company's stop first before gettIng to thrifty. Once there, the line was 15+ people long and one of the reps decided it was still a good time to close and go home for the night. One man was told to go to the back lot, only to be sent back inside and told to stand in line again even though he was close to missing his flight. The only highlights were that the car was clean and the drop off guy was incredibly pleasant. I still will never use thrifty again for work or personal. OVER AN HOUR to get my car during a 24 turnaround trip.

Cons: The Kayak reservation code only works with Thrifty's old booking system, so my reservation didn't actually go through. Luckily they had an extra car available and were really willing to work with me. The staff was very friendly. Pickup shuttles at the airport and Thrifty site were late...staff said they'd come about every 10-15 minutes and both waits were 20-25 minutes so factor that in when you're trying to catch a plane. And book through the Thrifty site rather than Kayak to avoid the extra time in the rental office.

Cons: Took forever to get through the pickup line (Hour? Hour and a half?) Seemed like staff started to go on break when our busload arrived. Had rented an economy car and when I went out to get my car, the only car left in the economy area had a dead battery. Had to track down someone for help. Turned out ok though as they quickly directed me to another type of car.

Out of cars, the car we did get had a problem
Pros: My wife and I really enjoyed doing the Seinfeld bit in the parking lot ... "Ya see, you know how to take a reservation... but ya don't know how to *keep* a reservation"
Cons: They were simply out of compact cars when we went outside after checking in at the counter. We went confused as to why there were no cars when we were just sent to this particular area to pick one out. We went back inside and were led back outside to the compact section where we were told we should just wait until the next car is available.
I got my preferred compact car (Ford Focus). It had about 50k miles on it and the transmission did not smoothly shift into first gear. Instead every time you accelerated from a stop the car would shudder into gear. Awesome feeling for a 500 mile road trip that includes some sparsely populated areas.
Pros: The line to get the rental wasn't as long and tiring as last time!
Cons: I got a $300 cheaper quote over the phone than I got at the counter! Even after various discounts it was more expensive than the price quoted over the phone!

Pros: Was very quick and simple. Customer service was pleasant enough. Shuttle driver (Mexican accent, gentleman) was friendly & communicated very well in regard to the drop off points, etc. & was very friendly.
Cons: Drop-off attendant could have been a bit more personable & we didn't appreciate the shuttle pulling away as we walked up to the bus. However, another shuttle arrived in a fairly timely manner.
Cons: I had to RUN through the airport and was very stressed due to having to wait 40 minutes for a shuttle from the Westin (where the site is located) to the airport. During peak travel times (this was 3:30 on a Friday) the wait should be no longer than 15 minutes. Get another shuttle!

Decently priced rental in LAX
Pros: The value of this rental was the best part! We had no issues with the car, the service was good, and it was the best price we found in LA.
Cons: The worst part was the shuttle. It was not clear when I booked the car that I would need to take a shuttle to the Westin. The Westin shuttle was not running very often and we waited quite a while (and considered a cab). But the return worked out and the shuttle was just arriving as we were.

look out for hidden charges
Cons: at the moment of drive off came casually a sheet of extra fees to initial, one of which was $250 for dog hair cleanup... for a car that already came with stains on the seats. mine is a short haired service dog who doesn't make much of a mess at all and i'm quite sure that, at most, the crew would run a vacuum over the seats. also charged was $30 for gas when i returned the vehicle with more gas than was in it at start. so watch out: your $70 rental will be $350 by the time they're done assessing. go somewhere else.

Pros: I have a humorous travel horror story now.
Cons: It all starts when I landed at LAX. I looked around to find the rental place and saw a shuttle pickup. The thing is, when looking at the rental locations, Economy Rent a Car wasn't on any of them. Instead, I had to pay a taxi $21 to drive me 1.5 miles to the rental location.
When I arrived the doors were locked, gate was closed, but the lights were on and there was a guy sitting at the counter. I tried to open the doors and the man at the counter waved me away. I shrugged at him and knocked on the door. This is when he started to pick his nose and stare at me blankly. I paid another cab to take me to Budget Rentals and enjoyed the rest of my trip...

Pickup at LAX is a mess
Pros: The best rate in town.
Cons: I had to take an airport metro bus to an empty parking lot off airport grounds. Then wait 10 mins for a ride to the rental agency. The process took about 5 phone calls and well over an hour. It was confusing, dangerous, and just plain bad. I will never use these guys again.

Pros: I consider Kayak as a reputable site. This shady agency should not be allowed to advertise on Kayak. This was supposed to have been an LAX location. Well, no explanation was given as to the actual "airport location". We had to take a shuttle to a very shady deserted parking lot and call the Economy Rent a Car and wait for another 10-15 minutes for their very dirty van to pick us up. The actual office is shady, dirty, uninviting. Staff dishonest. The car was dirty, the seats were covered in spot. For a non-smoking car, it smelled like it was smoked in. They lied about the need for the EasyPass and charged an additional 9.99 per day. Even though we explained that we would only be in the LA area, and at most go to Santa Barbara, and Highway 101 has no toll booths. I would not recommend this rental agency to anyone. I would highly recommend to Kayak and any other site such as Kayak to drop this agency. We usually rent from Budget and Stix, The only reason we went with this company is that at the time they were the only ones that had a full size car available for the time that we were in LA

Slowest car pick up ever! Over an hour!
Pros: The price, but I wish I had paid more and got good service.
Cons: Pickup took over an hour!
Drop off also took 10 or 15 minutes.

Cons: Nothing was clear. We land in the airport and 145-2 hours to get to the rental pick up. Young kids crying because we have to go wait in a dark area of Los Angeles airport way off the map to get the shuttle ride. I was hung up on five times just trying to get a hold of an agent to find out where the heck to go. No one new or if they did they did not tell us.
Finally we get the car and it stinks horribly and is beat up pretty bad but by 1045 at night last thing I wanted to do is wait any longer for a rental car. Now this is because our flight landed at 7pm
Try to contact them again to request 1 hour later drop off and my wife gets hung up on twice. What a joke . Never again

Cons: Car smelled horrible, no airport shuttle for pick-up, long processing time, cars not ready (low gas, low transmission fluid, not cleaned).
Cons: I rented an economic car for 35USD daily on Kayak website but when I actually picked up the car there was an extra 30USD for insurance that I didn't even had the option to select what type of insurance I wanted on the website but if I had gone to the more expensive ones on different websites I would have saved money since the pick up and drop off with AMPM is so inconvenient

Overall a good experience with a couple of opportu
Pros: AMPM texted us instructions for getting to our pick-up point.
I might have preferred this via e-mail, but it was still helpful to get.
Rosa who processed our info upon arriving was very nice, as was the gentleman who she left instructions for that took us straight to our terminal on our way back in the very car we had rented. That simplified and sped up getting to our flight.
Finally, the car itself was in good shape and a good ride that fit the bill. I would rent from them again.
Cons: The text message of instructions said to get off at the first stop which would be Lot C. But the driver of our shuttle said our first stop was the Cell Phone Wait Lot and that the 2nd stop would be Lot C, and was adamant they were different stops. Thankfully, I chose to ignore him, I stepped off the shuttle and recognized that the two were very close - virtually the same location - so we went with the former and our driver was there waiting for us, but this was confusing. Not AMPM's fault, but knowing the unreliability of shuttle drivers, maybe the text message of instructions could have been clearer, or included an image of a map.
Speaking of the shuttle, we waited a good 15-20 minutes at the airport before the shuttle to our pick-up point arrived. One that was supposed to go to our destination did not stop at our waiting point. Another shuttle driver said that they were contracted by a different service, and that this skipping of the stop was not atypical.
This led to us getting our car later than we'd have desired, and getting stuck in traffic. So again, not strictly AMPM's fault, but a hiccup that I'm guessing another company with its own shuttle (or that had a better run partnership w/the shuttle company) might have avoided.
Finally, the Fiat car we ended up selecting had less-than-impressive acceleration, which would have been helpful in LA. Not AMPM's fault by any means - we could have chosen an Altima that was also present. But it might have been mentioned as we chose the pick-up.

Pros: good staff, but I caught them on a day that their computer went down. They were eager to please and were very friendly, even driving me to the airport afterwards personally.
Cons: I didn't like the charge of the deposit to my AmEx. It took about a week for a large deposit to fall off my account, even though it was returned that day. The staff was very quick to address it-- the computer failure, a bank holiday-- and even sent proof to help with a 'disputed' charge if it came to that. The company did everything that they could and went further to assist if needed (it wasn't).

Pros: The car was very comfortable, found a great deal online so was very excited about renting it for a couple days.
Cons: The staff is always trying to sell you everything. Insurance, late fee (after 30mins late) and it's not cheap. The rental was 23$, the extra stuff made a total of 79$ very annoying if you ask me, since the itenerary says that all is included. Anyway, otherwise I couldn't take the car, so I paid it anyway.

Good Value for what you pay
Pros: The prices are great, insurance is reasonable and the car ran very well.
Cons: The rental was clearly not cleaned between renters. There were reciepts, parking permits, and what looked like pet hair in the car.

Pros: When I got to another company for my car rental.
Cons: You have to call from airport, take a shuttle to some lot, call from the lot, they eventually come get you. Didn't help with bags or anything. Was trying to refuse my service dog. When we got to the office insisted I show my insurance card or pay an additional 35 dollars. When I offered ways to confirm my insurance coverage it was all refused. Eventually dropped me off at the side of a road with bags and service dog! I walked in to the closest rental company. Horrible experience after a long trip.

Pros: The staff was friendly
Cons: We made the reservation on line and thought we had until noon to drop the car off. We ended up getting charged $20 late fee because we had picked it up a few hours early. I would have been fine with this if we had been notified up front. The whole drop off / pick up experience is very disorganized and unprofessional but probably the reason the rental is so much cheaper than the big guys.
Pros: MCar was very accommodating while we were setting up the rental agreement. The man working the desk was patient while my friend and I discussed who should be primary driver etc. he did not pressure us to purchase the additional insurance although we did ultimately get it. There were no extra fees for additional drivers and the car was great. A Nissan Sentra, new. It had a few dents in the bumper but as part of the pick up the staff videos the car's exterior and takes pictures of any pre-existing damage. This gave us a lot of peace of mind. The car was great. We only used half a tank driving back and forth from temecula. The rates were competitive and their shuttle was quick and easy! I did not like that they were going to charge us for a third day when we were only 2 hours into the third day and returned it exactly as scheduled. However, after expressing our concerns they waived the fee. Great customer service!!
Cons: The return location is confusing due to the ongoing construction.

Challenging location at LAX
Pros: The car was terrific, clean, and read to roll
Cons: Very confusing location. One shuttle to get you there. A different one to take you back to airport. They share the lot with a parking structure and my ticket to get out wasn't working. Impossible to back up and go into the office again. A Joe's attendant told me that I had to pay for my parking. Just a mess all around.

LAX is a crazy airport to navigate, but MCar made

Pros: Pick and drop-off was reasonable. No lines and so it was quick. Vince was very friendly and tried to give lot of helpful info about dining(even though we are vegans).. Very customer-friendly even though he was on last trip. Pray that he provides that bubbling attitude to his girls and boy at home.
Cons: Last pickup from lax airport is at 10.30pm. We almost missed it. In a busy airport like LA, last pickup should be mid-night.

Excellent value, good service
Pros: I was wondering what I would be giving up for the great price on a week long rental. Turns out nothing. The car was clean and pretty new (and not white) and the service at the office and garage was great. No hassles renting or returning. Would rent from them again.

Could not have gone better
Pros: The car was great! Very clean - inside and outside - Toyota Camry. Leather interior - more than expected.
Cons: I not sure what MCar could have done, but long time between pick up shuttle - the arrivals loop around the LAX terminal is terrible. I thought I landed in 3rd world country in terms of traffic. I was at the curb on a noon of Friday and it felt like LaGuardia Airport on on a Friday afternoon at 6 pm. It was moving very slowly.

Cons: Was a smaller model than booked - I booked a Jeep Cherokee or similar - got a Jeep Patriot which is considerably smaller.
Added the GPS - waste of time! The signal constantly dropped out and then tried to re-route taking us off course. If we'd have followed the instructions we would never have got out of LA!
