The customer service isn't exceptional, but it's adequate. This is a respectable car company, one of the few remaining in an industry often marked by dishonesty. The staff were nice and helpful. The car was nice and clean. But we did experience over 40mins of delay before the car became available.

This was the most pleasant car rental experience from start to finish. Our check in agent was so friendly and accommodating, the car was clean and easy to check in and out, and when our flight was delayed 12 hours they were so kind in extending our rental. I will preferentially rent from Sixt in the future!

Everyone was very professional, friendly, and hard working. No high pressure sales or upgrade pitches. They got me in and out quickly during both the check in and check out processes. I very much appreciated their young, hard working crew. They seemed to enjoy doing their jobs, and had a great camaraderie that spilled over into their customer service. I'll definitely be using Midway again.

I am really impressed with the service, their vehicles, and a really smooth process. They moved fast. The shuttle was ready and moved quickly to and from the airport terminal. I am close to being a road warrior and familiar with rental car companies. Most budget conscious car rental companies tend to be a mess and sneaky as hell. The person at the counter will naturally try to upsell you. That is their job because it creates profit for their business model. Don’t be upset about that. Learn the trade. Understand that if you have insurance coverage (legit and verifiable) you can decline their policies. If they offer an upgraded vehicle, decline it or be willing to pay for the nicer/bigger vehicle. I was treated with respect and transparency. I will return without hesitation. The only caveat is the location is off the airport campus and that requires transferring to a second shuttle. Not difficult, and not that much longer. Just call ahead for instructions and study them to avoid missteps. They will email you the day before you pickup and before returning your vehicle with clear instructions! I don’t see that much at all from other companies; much less from the large corporate franchises. Midway does a lot of things right. Give them a chance.

I will never purchase a rental car through Kayak or with Midway again. Kayak offered a $50 rental (insurance included) through Midway for the day for a Nissan Versa. When I arrived at Midway I had to pay for additional insurance because the insurance purchased with Kayak for the rental didn’t cover Midway’s cars. Midway doesn’t charge for the first 150 miles but after that it’s $.50 per mile. I paid $200 for a one day rental. Nickel and dimed the entire process. I will never rent from either companies again. It was my worst car rental experience.

FOX caused me so many porblems of my driver license issue. It ended up they jacked up the price of 3 days rental to 600 USD and convint me to purchase the rental. Eventually I walked to the next door , THRIFTY, and Thrifty didn’t give me any problem. They also offer me a decent deal. I WILL NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH FOX AGAIN

Cons:

Desk agent and signing in on a tiny screen made for it to be easy to charge me for insurance I didn’t want or need. Car had only. been quick cleaned so windows needed help and there was stuff on the back seats

Tires are not inspected for the renters. Was so disappointed coz the inner parts of all tire are bald and we are traveling in the middle of summer (118 degrees). The safety of the passengers are always the concern of the company

The car was dirty outside, had no washer fluid and the fuel tank was not completely full on pick up, however it was the vehicle ordered (whereas on 2 previous car rentals the chosen vehicle was not available - not through Avis).

I’m glad they were able to switch the driver name after we booked, I didn’t realize whoever makes the booking is automatically the driver but of course. The staff was patient and friendly. It would have been nice if they brought the car up from the parking spot. I am recovering from foot surgery and had specifically asked if they can bring up the car. No other “complaints” lol thanks team :)

I rented a car in the LA and and returned in Las Vegas. Everything went well. Only at LA airport it took a while for the shuttle appear to take us to the rental office, but the traffic was chaotic. Return the car to Las Vegas was very easy and quick.

I was told when I arrived in LAX that they “lost my reservation” which made no sense because I was able to show them my confirmation email. They were not helpful with resolving the issue and had an attitude like it was my fault. I was given the tiniest car that barely fit my suitcases and halfway thru the trip the check engine light came on. Luckily the roadside agent was pleasant and helpful but we still had to make a detour to Oklahoma City airport to exchange cars, this customer service agent was more helpful but was unable to extend my rental due to the delay, he explained it was a computer issue that didn’t allow him to help, this needs to be resolved on a corporate level because I lost multiple hours detouring to get a new car and was still expected to return it on time. The drop off at South Bend airport is not explained in detail, I circled the lot looking for a drop box to return the key in 4 degree weather, had to exit my car and walk down a walkway with almost no signage until I found a sign that said the drop box was inside, you can’t see this sign from the lot and the Avis website does not describe where it is.

They charged me for additional fuel at drop-off even though I refueled before dropping car off. So don’t leave without confirming with the agent the fuel level and to get a receipt. Additionally, customer service is awful; I could not even call in to complain and get assistance. They just said to fill out an online form and email my issue and they would reply in 3-5 business days. But then how can they investigate my issue? Horrible customer service when you cannot speak directly with anyone about your issue!

The car was extremely clean and it was great. The pickup location was a bit confusing, Initially I was not specifically aware that the pickup location was at the Marriott hotel. The address indicated the specific location; however, when the rental indicated it was through Hertz, I took the Hertz shuttle to the Hertz rental location. The Hertz rental location is nearby the actual pickup location and it did not say anywhere on my rental that I was picking up from the Marriott location. A simple indication it was Marriott location would have been great.

They called me right before our trip to say the van we had reserved was not available and they would not give me a replacement vehicle. Never got a rental from them. I explained they should give us another vehicle and I had a confirmation number, and he would not do so.

The budget staff, car, and service were all good. However, the long wait made it very difficult in the heat. It took one and a half hours to get the car. There were so many people waiting that I thought they would run out of cars.

I waited nearly 1 hour to be picked up by the airport shuttle. Everything else went fine, but watching other rental company shuttles go by two or three times while I was waiting was disappointing. Particularly since my flight got in after midnight.

My rating are low because the pick up process was really below par from a customer service perspective. I would anticipate knowing the bookings for the day that one know what staffing to have. Not only were they short of people, the employees took their breaks as the lines kept growing. The total time per customer was very long in some instances and folks just appeared frustrated. After an hour and a half of waiting when I picked my car it gave me an indication that the oil needed to be changed. Lack of attention to derails - either the car should have been serviced or the oil sensor should have been reset. Low viscosity oil can cause engines to overheat. Bot something you want as a customer.

Pick up of my vehicle took 2 hours and 15 minutes!! Horrible experience with pick up!!! We waited 40 minutes alone at the airport for a shuttle as every other rental car company had shuttles there numerous times in that 40 minute wait. We would not recommend this Budget to anyone.

I had a reservation with this bad reputation company, when I got to the counter the agent said he doesn’t have the car I requested, I should either pay extra money to get upgraded car or wait until they got a car, I asked how long I should wait he answered me “might takes hour” trying to enforce me pay them more.

I love how fast the check-in was and check out was even faster. Park the car and leave it there as as that. The car given was great, came with all the current safety features and plug ins for charging electronics.

They denied the rental beacause I Live in California. This was not part of the Terms and Conditions. No restriction was given when making the reservation. I was left stranded without a car and I had to pay 6 times what I paid on this reservation to get a car.

The wait to get our car was 2+ hours long. Car smelled like cigarettes. Paid $70 USD for a full tank of gas and only got it about 3/4 full (I have a picture). The insurance coverage part was confusing as there was not really any info re- coverage while I was booking the car online, so it was a bit of a shock to have to pay over $400 USD the day of just for car insurance. I would have looked at other car rentals if I had known. Would not recommend and will not be using NU Car Rentals for further trips.

Due to Westjet airline strike I never actually got to use my rental. I was able to cancel my rental the morning off without penalty or cost and that was awesome since we already had the disappointment of missing out on our trip. I would definitely try to rent with Ace again though based on this customer service.

The pick up from the airport is horrible. You need to take a bus to then take their van. And of course they don’t tell you that! You find that at the airport. Then the employees come out with such ridiculous questions. I had to email them my itinerary of my flight when I was departing. Why????! Was this really necessary???? And so many more things. First and last time I do business with this company!

The pickup situation from LAX was unacceptable for families with young children as it was so inconvenient. There should be warnings for it. The staff were absolutely rude and unfriendly. Car was not what I thought and cars condition was poor. I will never again book Ace. I am also really disappointed that Kayak even offers this company for rentals

Waited 40 minutes for a shuttle on arrival. Tried calling the office multiple times to let them know but no answer. When I returned the car, the shuttle drove straight out of the gate without stoop to pick me up to take me to the airport. Took 45 minutes to return and I almost missed my flight.

Bad experience, they asked $500 for deposit but never told you, they charge over $20 if you use Debit Card, they won’t honor insurance that i bought through Kayak so I have to pay extra for insurance again. I would not book car rental again from them. Be careful.

I like the rate. I did not like that my insurance card had to be presented because my insurance card lives in my personal vehicle. This was the first time renting a car that my I had to present the insurance card to rent the car. Also I was not happy that the car insurance i paid for on the web site was not accepted by Green Motion. i had to purchase additional insurance to rent your vehicle. I also did not like that once inside the rental facility the line stated "U-Save" and not Green Motion. Please clarify that it is the same agency in the future.
