Pros: Easiest and most pleasant airport drop-off ever! Parked the car, then as I walked towards the terminal (which was right there) a guy came walking toward me, asked how my rental was, and took the keys. Done!

Cons: There is no information when booking the reservation that discloses that the car cannot cross from the north island to the south and there is a minimum rental of 3 days. The reservation was booked from Aukland to Queens town and we did not learn about this stipulation until we went to pick the car up. Had to change our plans and spend much more money on new reservations.

Budget have overcharged me by $300 and not even se
Cons: Budget NZ have overcharged my Credit Card by $300 and not even sent an invoice to justify their charges.
What a joke - supposed to be a premium provider...they didnt give me the car paid for (it was a crappy hybrid) and the car stank like a previous renter had spilled Dum Sum in the boot!
Dissapointing Budget total rip off and fraudulent charges without substantiation!

Pros: Clean ride
Cons: When other rental car companies quoted me it was an all inclusive cost, it wasn't clearly noted that the car was a manual and the price didn't include insurance. So when I actually picked up the car they gouged me on both of those and the quotes price was more than doubled. I had somewhere to be and didn't have much of a choice. Feel like they knew that and really took advantage with the price.

Receipts don't match
Pros: The car was large enough for my needs.
Cons: The price given to me online was not the price I was charged for and when I called the 800 number, the customer service office was closed. I feel I was charged more money because I was in a rush to catch my flight- Poor business practice by Budget.
When I picked up the car, the service representatives had me sign that the car was not damaged before even receiving the keys. I asked if there was damage, could I come back and fill out the form to reflect that, and they said "yes"... but the second I received my keys they shut the gates and left for the day. I asked why the price on the document they gave me was different than what I received online and they told me I'd only be charged the additional amount if I returned the car with less than a full tank of gas. The car was returned full and I was still charged more money than quoted online.

Site fails to alert you to location change
Pros: Everything was prompt and easy, as advertised, quick in and out.
Cons: Reservation did not alert me to drop off location NOT being what I requested, which was wellington airport. A small hassle.

Pros: The car itself was clean and new. Handled new Zealand roads very well and was perfectly adequate in regards to space.
Cons: Upon arriving in Auckland we were told by the Budget desk at the airport that there was no reservation in the system under my name. This was not our original pickup location, but they assured us they would be able to see it regardless. After a couple minutes they said they saw it after all at the Penrose branch and told us to catch a cab there. $40 cab ride later the Penrose station tells us that they also cannot see my reservation, that all of the cars like the one I could PROVE I'd reserved on the lot were reserved by other people. They then told me my total reservation for a smaller car would be $350+ higher than I had secured in advance and that I was out of luck if I wanted anything else.
Thankfully upon delivery to Wellington the Budget desk was able to lower the previously charged amount to match my original quote, which is a huge saving grace for me. Unfortunately that still means that I paid the price of an SUV rental for a Toyota corolla.
Pros: Prompt Airport pickup. Friendly , courteous staff. GPS supplied was a nice touch. Was able to leave car at my last night motel which was very convenient. Car was small so comfort was only marked as good, not a company fault

Pros: Its the worst rental car service i have ever encountered. They didnt come to pick me at the airport. I have to book a taxi to the address written in my confirmation sheet but its just an empty factory. I had to book a shuttle to and fro my hotel and cost me double. Worst is the telephone i called them more than 20 times its just go to the machine what a waste of money.
I will definitely make complain to the NZ authorities when i reach home.
I really hope u can refund back my deposit and booking fee thank you

Pros: Absolutely nothing!
Cons: Let start with they had moved between the time I booked and the time I arrived and there was no communication stating that fact. Then we'll move to the vehicle, it was obviously bought at an auction of some kind, it was filthy, couldn't see through the wind screen, the windshield wipers barely worked. It smelled like there had been a toga party in it, upholstery was dusty and smelled like an ashtray. I wanted to say something but it was the single van in the fleet! After doing a bit of research, I found that this wasn't even that good of a deal. They should not be a Kayak vendor!

Pros: Car gave a nice drive.
Cons: We feel that we were falsely led by their ads. We thought Economy was the same as the US Economy car rental we are familiar with. They said they were off site, but we assumed we would have a free airport pickup. They charged after the fact. Charged 3.5% for cc payment which wasn't stated up front. When we wanted to pay cash, they said they had no change, and no maps. Kind of fly by night. The car was old, radio didn't work, arm rest between seats was torn up, and car had over 100,000 km. They didn't seem very professional or servicible.

Pros: Called to say we were stuck in traffic as we were getting close to their closing time, they said not to worry as they were quite busy and would be there late. Not sure how a car rental at an international airport can close at 5pm.
Cons: Returning the car was interesting... the office had moved and in four phone calls to set up the return nobody mentioned that fact. We were lucky to see a SMALL note that had their new address. As we got close to the new return site a car pulled along side, asked whether we were returning a rental then said to bark in a certain lot at the airport and he would come find us... we parked and unloaded and he did come by but it was odd. Thankfully we were not pressed to catch our flight.

Old, torn seats
Pros: If you want to save a little bit of money and don't mind an old car with torn seats and leather peeling off the steering wheel, then this is for you.
Cons: The car had about 100,000 miles on it. Car's nav system was in Chinese characters and not usable, seats were uncomfortable and worn.
Cons: My flights were delayed so they gave my booked car away. They had no other car options either. Even though I entered all my contact information in while booking the car they said they had received no contact information through kayak. Very disappointing experience.

Cons: The rental counter is a bit far from the airport, so be prepared to spend a bit more time on pickup then with other companies. Otherwise, good experience.
Pros: The car was new and clean. The service was NOT good.
Cons: The customer service was really bad - they made a commitment to a certain price and then tried to change it saying you're picking up from a premium location etc. Bad customer service with a care rep called Janita Lou that was completely non co-operative.
Pros: Very new and clean car. Smooth administration. Just perfect.
Cons: At the drop-off we had to give the keys to a guy in the car park with a little thrifty sticker on his shirt. We did not get any confirmation that we gave the car back nor that is was still in perfect conditions. It felt a bit weird afterward that we had nothing in your hands to proof that we brought the car back without any damage.
