I was not able to pick up my car. My credit card information was already in my profile but my physical credit card was safe at home. I had my digital cards on my phone but was not able to complete my transaction, leaving me without a car. I had my driver's license, which matched the address, license number, charge card number - which matched my digital card - on file in reservation in the system. The only thing that I did not have was the physical card. Even more frustrating, the agent was unable to show me in any of their policies that a physical card was required for pick up, but, according to him, it was there. I looked on my own and was unable to find a physical card requirement but was still refused a vehicle. I was in town for 2 days to attend a funeral. Pulled up the online obituary, which listed my name matching my driver's license and was still refused. Flew in the day of and missed the evening service. This absolutely sucked,

They didn’t accept Apple Pay or tap and Inhad to pay for an Lyft that cost me $330. The Alamo in Medellin Colombia accepted Apple Pay/ tap and I was able to rent a car there, so why would I not be able to rent a car in the United States. I was very disappointed in the quality of service I got there at the Alamo in LA. They left me stressed out and basically left me stranded. I will never recommend this rental location to anyone ever in my life!

Came late last night with my 3 year old and was unable to rent a car with my debit card because I was a Southern California resident. Had to uber home because they assumed I was going to steal a car with a 3 year old. I lost my credit card while in Colombia and they were unable to accommodate my request. I was willing to pay any fees but nothing was done. Really unhappy with the service.
There wasn’t a car there even though it said there was availability and wasted my entire families time - we drove to 2 locations across town looking for a car. The employees were so apologetic and courteous - nothing they could do :(

The guys at LAX pick up purposely wrote the wrong email, which was a jumble of gibberish letters, so i didn't get my receipt. I found this out the following day when dropping off at Redlands when the intake person showed me the email he had and resent it to me with the correct email.

The customer service isn't exceptional, but it's adequate. This is a respectable car company, one of the few remaining in an industry often marked by dishonesty. The staff were nice and helpful. The car was nice and clean. But we did experience over 40mins of delay before the car became available.

This was the most pleasant car rental experience from start to finish. Our check in agent was so friendly and accommodating, the car was clean and easy to check in and out, and when our flight was delayed 12 hours they were so kind in extending our rental. I will preferentially rent from Sixt in the future!

I had booked a minivan paid in advance a month ahead because I knew we would have a lot of luggage. When I got there, they didn't have one but said we could get a Palisaide instead but it wasn't big enough for the luggage. They only had a expedition max that would work for us but it cost me 750$ additional. I was disappointed since I had booked and paid in advance so I would be sure to have the minivan. The guy at counter tried his best but they still charge me 750 more.

This was the worst rental car experience I’ve ever had!!! upon landing. I went directly to the Avis office to pick up my vehicle which had been reserved two weeks prior. I was traveling with my elderly parents, and I asked them to wait at the baggage claim area in the airport since they do not have mobility and it would be difficult for them to take the shuttle to the Avis car pick up. It typically takes about 30 minutes to get a rental car and that would have been an easy way for them since we did not have any checked-baggage to pick up. . upon arrival at the Avis counter. I was met by a crowd of 300 people standing in line. Approximately four agents were working that day, December 25, 2025 at 12 noon there was a very slow process to check in everyone … nowhere to sit… no way to charge your phone no way to step out of line to use the bathroom. The crowd was hostile and it took over four hours to get my rental car. if I had any way of getting another rental car I would have left, but at this time other car rentals were sold out, and I got stuck having to wait for the service that Avis was able to provide! the workers seemed angry to work December 25. They seemed unhappy to be there. One female employee walked away from the desk at least 7 times to go get coffee as if to be sure, she didn’t work the crowd that was lined up in a speedy way… she made every effort to slow the process. Once her shift ended, she happily put her purse on her shoulder and walked off while the crowd was yelling. What’s happening? Where are you going? She turned to the crowd and said I’m going home!! some employees huddled while in view of customers and chatted with each other. As if to plan when their exit would come. When I finally got to the front of the counter four hours later, I was grateful that I had not needed to use the bathroom and I was grateful that I had a few peanut butter cups in my purse to survive on for food since I had traveled from the East Coast and have been traveling all day ! my phone battery had died, and I had asked my neighbor to loan me her charger pack, since I now had no way to contact my elderly parents still waiting for me at baggage claim in terminal one.. It only took me five minutes to get my vehicle once I made it to the front of the line. I had created an Avis profile in order to speed the process up. the young man who checked processed my rental was very efficient however he was the only employee that seemed to care that we were in need of help and stranded until someone had the heart to work our rental . People began to scream out loud asking if there were even any cars in the back for us once we made it through the line. Will we be able to get cars. I knew in my heart that there was going to soon be a riot and I pray that I could get out of there before that happened. . While I stood, there are signing the agreement other customers bombarded the desk asking about their particular cases saying that they needed help. Angry that they were not able to get SUVs for parties that were larger in size. They were promised SUVs and they were unable to get them that day. I got angry and asked them to please step away since I have waited in that line for four hours. It was now my turn to be serviced once I got the vehicle. There were no issues thereafter, but I still promised myself. I would never use Avis again.

We waited in line at the service desk over an hour to pick up our car. Once we went out to the parking lot, and attendant had already given the car assigned to us to someone else so we had to wait for another car. When we went to leave out of the Avis parking lot, there was a problem with one of the exit lines so we had to merge with the one that was working which took even more time.
The car I reserved was not prepared or available The counter employee took way too long to remedy. It situation Manager had to step in to help I still didn’t not received the car I reserved.

One of the worst rental car experiences I’ve ever had. I reserved a Tesla and completed check-in in advance, expecting a smooth pickup.However, when I arrived, the Tesla was not available. I ended up waiting for about 1 hours and still did not receive the vehicle I reserved. During the process, I was first offered random replacement options that were not comparable to what I booked, including a hybrid Dodge and a Hyundai IONIQ, even though I clearly explained that I was not comfortable driving an unfamiliar EV. I asked for a regular gas or hybrid SUV such as a RAV4 instead. After all the waiting and back-and-forth, I was finally given a very poor-condition Chevrolet SUV, which felt like a major downgrade from my original reservation. On top of that, the rental agreement initially showed an optional Loss Damage Waiver added as “accepted,” even though I did not want it and already had rental car coverage through my credit card. I had to specifically go back and ask them to remove it. The staff also told me the final receipt could only be provided after the rental ended, which made the whole process feel even more confusing and unreliable. The vehicle I finally received was disappointing, and I even had to buy a charging cable myself because the replacement car did not have what I needed for navigation/phone charging. Overall, this was an extremely frustrating experience: the reserved car was unavailable, the pickup was delayed by 1 hours despite advance check-in, the replacement vehicle was poor, and the billing/optional coverage process was unclear. I would not rent from budget again
I dropped off my vehicle at 5:15am at LAX rental center. There was one employee a couple of cars ahead of me She said I can go if there was no damage. I accidentally left the keys in my pocket. I realized this at the airport and gave them to the dollar shuttle driver to get them back. At the airport I saw that they charged me $500 for the keys. No tried to contact me and obviously I had the keys. I was still at the rental center when my car was checked in. I tried multiple times to call the rental office at LAX. The phone rings three times then hangs up. I wrote a complaint to them. Two days later and the charge is still on my credit card. The fact that it is impossible to speak to anyone is so infuriating.

Return there was no service until a parking lot guy told me to just leave it after 15 minutes of waiting and told me they'd send a bill. It wasn't really great.

Although I reserved a car and checked-in prior to arriving, Dollar did not a car available when I arrived. It was a sad scene. At 1am, about a dozen customers were in the same position. No cars were available. Staff were indignant, unhelpful, and rude. I will never rent from Dollar again. I highly recommend that no one ever rent from this facility ever again.

Someone needs to put on a separate site that your website NEVER honors the car that is being advertised and it’s always some different type of car that is supposedly similar to the car in the picture advertised. Maybe a website that is viewed anytime a person tries to rent a car through Kayak that is not the car they will receive. Also, it was over a hour wait to get the car when we first showed up on property.

Pick up in Lós Angeles and we will return in Las Vegas on 01.01.25 in Hertz 1815 Sahara Avenue. However, at the scheduled return, the rental company was closed with no instructions on where to leave the car. When we called the central office, they told us we would have to return it at another location or keep the car for an additional day. Since we already had plans, we couldn’t go to another agency to return it. Therefore, we kept the car for one more day.

Booked a car the day before rental to start. Got confirmation email. Later in evening, apparently got an email that they were cancelling rental, as “car was not available.” Did not see email until in airport, in layover, before final leg of trip. Just luck I noticed it. Do not rent a car, if you don’t have the car to rent. The way you would want a company to respond would be as follows: “We apologize to inform you that the vehicle class you booked is unavailable - for your rental period. So, we have instead upgraded your rental to the next, higher rental class. We appreciate your business.” That’s it. THAT’s how you handle it. Please see the Jerry Seinfeld episode about rental cars…. Unfortunately, that scorched my desire to ever use them again.

Shuttle took well over an hour from their start of operations pick us up, we originally rented a mini van and they didn’t have one, we were given an SUV
Dear KAYAK Customer Support, I am writing to formally complain about a recent car rental booking made through KAYAK. Upon arriving to pick up the vehicle, I was informed that the car was not allowed to be taken outside the state of Nevada. This restriction was not disclosed anywhere during the booking process, and had I been aware of it, I would not have proceeded with the reservation. As a result, I wasted a significant amount of time and was unable to use the rental at all. Additionally, I was surprised to learn that the booking did not include unlimited mileage, which further contradicted my expectations when making the reservation. Due to these undisclosed limitations, this booking was unusable and represents one of the worst experiences I have had using KAYAK. I believe this situation resulted from incomplete or misleading information provided at the time of booking, and not from any fault on my part. I am therefore requesting a full refund and an explanation as to why these critical restrictions were not clearly stated upfront. I look forward to your prompt response and resolution of this matter. I argued and then was offered a 7 seater as “commercial gesture”but it was a mistake from me they told me 4 times. Waited 40 minutes for a shuttle on arrival. Tried calling the office multiple times to let them know but no answer. When I returned the car, the shuttle drove straight out of the gate without stoop to pick me up to take me to the airport. Took 45 minutes to return and I almost missed my flight.
My flight got a little delayed and we were able to reach at rental place at 12:45 but it was closed. Why would they say car is able to pick up at 12:30am if they close at 12:30 without any phone support or any shuttle to go to, I spent $28 to go in uber from airport to car rental to see they are closed and in middle of night with kids, family I am stranded on road. I had to take $85 uber again to go to hotel in augora hill and then come back $76 to get rental. Very bad experience and no empathy whatsoever. The car was making noises, uncomfortable, and not the one which I was promised. I was promised Nissan Altima but was given a VW Jetta which made noises like it has been hit or broken hood and they didn’t care, their words it’s fine.

I had called in a couple of times to clarify drop off and shuttle times and was told the location was closed until 5am. So I dropped my party off at the airport for 4:15am then went back to wait at the rental car location to return the vehicle. Because of timing I pre booked an Uber car to pick me up at 5:20 to hopefully get me back to the airport in time for my 7am flight. To my surprise the rental car location drop off was actually open despite what I was told on the phone. So I was able to return the car and get on a shuttle before 5am. So I ended up cancelling my Uber and paying a cancellation fee. The stress of trying to ensure vehicle return, getting to my flight and then wasting money to book an Uber because of bad information over the phone is annoying.
Worst rental car ever, they do not answer the phone and I never got the car total waste of money. You shouldn’t have it as an option for your customers. I trusted kayak but not anymore

This was the worst experience I’ve ever had with a car rental agency. The car alarm repeatedly went off when we tried to open the car with the key. We contacted the company and they refused to bring us a new rental. Their solution was for us to go to an auto parts store to replace fob key on our vacation. Also the blinker did not work. Then the battery went dead and we missed 1 hour of my sister’s wedding reception. Also the communication about shuttle pick up was false causing us to have to walk from car rental depot to get rental. The company also does not answer their phones. Overall horrible experience. Do not use this company!

This was the smoothest vehicle rental place I've ever rented from. Quick service, easy fast pick up, smooth clean ride, can't get over how fast I was on the road. I've been to other rental places and waited hours for my car. I was here for 5 minutes and had my van ready. Friendly helpful staff and close location to airport with easy shuttle service. I will definitely use them again and highly recommend them if you need a passenger van.

Vehicle was very dirty. It looked like it was not washed or cleaned in a long time.
U-save means you save money but lose a lot of time, which was not worth it for us to start our trip. The cost for the car was very low with no unexpected fees, however the pickup process took an hour and a half to 2 hours. To get to the car rental, we took 2 separate shuttles which was expected. However, once we got to the U-Save building there was a long line of people and it took each person 20-30 minutes to leave the counter and receive their car. The agents that are at the counter kept having to leave to pull up each car individually and all the people/families waiting outside endorsed they also waited up to 2-2.5 hours to get their car AFTER the 1/2 hour it took to get to U-save from the airport in the first place. While the car was sufficient, I will not be using this car rental company again. The only highlight of this experience was the drop off was smooth despite the heavy rain, and our shuttle driver was able to take us all the way to the terminal rather than having to wait for the second shuttle to get back to the terminal.

My experience with State Van Rental was ok. The attended was professional and explained there process. What could have been better….. an updated van. We got to the office to drop off the van we rented at 7:35am and the office was closed. We had to wait for the manager to get there. Who arrived at 7:45am, and the everything worked out fine and seamless, but we got a little nervous because no one informed us the wouldn't be working.

Pickup was incredibly fast, we had previously only rented from Budget and that was always a nightmare experience of long lines, no cars, etc. Salesperson was very pleasant, no pressure to purchase extra options. Dropoff was also quick. Only drawback is we waited longer for shuttle at LAX, watching many other car companies go by multiple times, could have been a matter of timing.

I was a little wary about going with a local car rental agency -- I've gotten cars that weren't clean or smelled smoky. Black & White were extremely polite, professional and prompt. I was picked up in an impeccably clean Suburban, and the car I got (Toyota Corolla) was very clean and worked well. As a female, some of these car rental agencies don't feel safe and seem sketchy, but this agency was not one of them. I would 100% recommend them again, and I will definitely see if they have a car for me the next time I need a car from LAX.

The pickup address was WRONG. I wasted 1-2hrs just trying to find the location. The email had no customer service line. I ended up finding it myself. There was only one person at the booth and she didn’t ignored me, so I ended up wasting another 30 minutes just waiting. The check in service was self serve but no sign even mentions that at the location. The insurance charge is slapped on last minute which is extremely annoying. The car I ordered wasn’t in stock so I was given a completely different one. The car itself smelled bad and the windshield looked like it had grease on it, so everything looked blurry while driving. At pickup, Zezgo required me to produce a copy of declarations of my personal automobile policy to avoid a substantial additional charge for liability insurance.This was the first mention to me of this. I was able to contact my insurer and request them to email this information to the pickup office of Zezgo but it added at least 30 minutes to my pickup experience. Had I been aware of this requirement I could have easily brought it with me. This was an annoying blemish on what was otherwise a well run operation.

Zezgo - Los Angeles Here's what to expect: * Wait in line for 1-2 hours if you are scheduled at noon. There is just one to two persons working at the desk and it takes a long time per person. * $1000 deposit on credit card, $2000 if you are an LA resident. They may knock this lower to make you feel better about the extra charge they're about to give you. * "Loss of use" insurance is mandatory and not common on personal car insurance or credit card collision damage waivers. * They will sell it to you. For me it was $20/day additional. (They reduced it from $25/ day) * Need the "declaration page" from auto insurance. It was available via my GEICO app, but you may be able to call and have them email it to you. * They do not accept insurance from Canada or other countries * They only allow one insurance company to be used for the rental. So you can't use GEICO and credit card collision damage waiver together, for instance. I * Declined the toll service (optional). * They reduced the deposit to $250. * They didn't have all the car models that kayak said they had. For instance no Chevy Spark. They said they never have the Spark and don't know why it's listed on the website. CorpUSA group LA was the billing name on the credit card statement. They had zezgo and a few other "brands" of auto rental companies all sharing the same staff and fleet.
They didn’t have the car I reserved and forced me onto a more expensive car.

Unfriendly staff, confusing instructions to get to the shuttle, shuttle took a very long time to arrive.
What I liked: Despite it being a very trying time, the manager/owner showed compassion and kindness when my rental reservation had the incorrect pickup time and I did not have the extra funds to restart the rental. God truly moved on their heart — they dropped the fees and helped me when I really needed it. This was happening while my brother was hospitalized dealing with health issues, so their support meant more than they know. I am extremely grateful and can never thank them enough for stepping in during a time of need. I was extra careful to follow all protocols they saw my questions concerning the rental and was extra kind to easy my thoughts. I would rent again! What I didn’t like: I only wish they were open on weekends, as that would have made things a little easier just in returning home. Other than that, everything went smoothly even how to return the car.
They said they’re short with the stuff and waiting for pick up is too long.

No! • Before getting out of the parking lot, (thankfully) there was a low key battery which didn't get replaced, though another fob was offered, that also went low key battery the following evening! • oppppp they don't reimburse you for expenses you have to pay for something that they should be supplying… And I'm only thankful that I was able to find a place five minutes before closing to get a battery for it! And the guys at Riley auto supply were able to look up a YouTube to figure out how to get into the key fob and get me back on the road... of course this is after an 45 min hunt to find a battery! making me an hour late for dinner with friends! • and did I say the car was given to me one point below 1/2 full of gas! I of course discovered that after I was on the road from the whole key fob debacle… That took another 20 to 25 minutes to muddle through - I called them, took a picture of it, and they made a note of it - I brought it back at the same point! • their two system shuttle sucks… And when you realize how close the second shuttle pick up is to the counter… We all could've walked!!! • on a good note, the car was just fine - the process sucked! First customer service rep said my insurance didn’t have enough liability and stated she couldn’t move my pickup time up. I was trying to pick up my car at 5 pm vs 8 pm. After an hour of being on customer support with kayak and priceless the priceless rep told me it is “California law” that they can’t allow me to pickup my car before the scheduled time. Disappointed I went back in to try again, this time with a different rep. He pushed everything through just fine so I got my car. The check in process is also difficult, a lot of forms using different systems. The line was very long and I saw others frustrated while I was present trying to pick up my car.
Their location has changed but I wasn’t notified. I had no way to get to the new location from the airport. There were a lot more fees than I was informed about. The pick up experience was unorganized and confusing. I was going to be charged more for dropping off the car outside of their business hours, and I wouldn’t have a way to get to the airport from there. I had to return it the day before and get a hotel. At least the car itself was fine.

Right Cars is purposefully misleading. They advertise super cheap rental prices and then expect local renters to either pay $2000 deposits if you use your own insurance or a $29.99 a day + $250 no refund deposit. Extraordinarily rude customer service as I noticed when they were speaking to the person infront of me. I would like them removed from your website.
No agents to help. You had to speak with someone in a booth on the phone. They couldn’t find my reservation and it took more than one hour to create a new obe. There was only 1 employee who left to pick up people at the airport and we had to wait for our car. In addition there was nobody to take me back to the airport so I had to pay an Uber. Very upset.
