Pros: The rooms are great, nice design and comfortable. The beds are amazing. The breakfast is a good although there aren't hot items but what is there is healthy, fresh and presented nicely. The bar is also really nice! Overall it's a nicely designed hotel with focus on the right things and a great value product. They understand business travelers.

Pros: Clean rooms, spacious with all the necessities! In a central location. I really enjoyed the wallpaper and the decor. It is very modern and the rooms are clean. Note that there is no phone, no alarm clocks, no coffee maker, only a hair dryer and a tv which is more than enough! I like the simplicity! Less is more!

Pros: Excellent location for what we wanted to do during our brief visit. The room (222) was a quiet corner room at the back of the hotel. It’s not a big room, but a good size by Zurich standards, and had everything we needed. Comfortable bed. Small but fully functional bathroom. Interesting Asian restaurant attached to the hotel - tasty food promptly served. Within easy walking distance of Zurich’s central train station. There is at least one other Sorell hotel in Zurich, and I think the Seidenhof is the better in terms of location and amenity. We had asked for an early check-in, which we got when we arrived at 10 am - very pleasing. We’d stay here again.

Cons: THERE ARE A LOT OF STAIRS FROM THE MAIN TRAIN STATION TO THE HOTEL !!! Zurich is full of stairs this is very important if you thought you can walk that 5 mins with your luggage like me ! even during my stay i saw several other people very tired and sweating trying to catch their breath as they went through the same experience , you cant walk with your large luggage take tram to Haldenegg it stops right in front of the hotel door ! rooms were extra small ! i didn't see the mobile the offered in booking.com , however i didn't need it so i didn't ask for it

Cons: I booked this online thinking it was a budget hotel, considering the price. Receptionist didn't greet us with a smile nor he was being rude or anything but room is already booked and we're checking in at 6pm so I guess he thought no need to be nice.
Surprise came next morning. While we were checking out he asked 49chf and I was shocked as for why. It was for the breakfast we ate. Now, nobody told us anything about breakfast not being included and its hotels around this price range you would assume it is. I was really furious about it coz only salami yogurt and coffee at 22chf per person breakfast wow l. What a rip off!
What annoyed us the most is that receptionist guy didn't give any info about absolutely anything but when it comes to collect money.... I even had to ask about the Internet connection, he said 'written on the paper', the stuff that he gave us with the room key.

Cons: I am always frustrated when hotels make claims about their 'green credentials' and then don't live up to them. Despite leaflets in the room stating 'It's Easy to be Green', upon check in to my room I discovered that the heating was on max, making the temperature unbearable. Presumably the system had been pumping out heat all day. Other members in the party experienced the same issue and had raised complaints. I appreciate that during winter months, hotels need to ensure that rooms are kept warm, but this is a well-insulated, modern hotel and this was a totally unnecessary measure. There was also the standard array of miniature toiletries in the bathroom. Surely we're beyond that now? I wouldn't class myself as an eco warrior but it really bugs me when large corporates do nothing more than tick a box by printing leaflets telling everyone how great they are and then failing to live up to their own standards.

Cons: I was only a bit annoyed by the old lady who first assisted me, I arrived past twelve and she asked me to wait until 2pm I hope at her age she does not base her treatment according to passport color. As a frequent traveler I know the check in policy but 5 guests came after me but were not asked to wait, one had even been offered a transfer to their newly opened hotel for no extra charge. I had to ask 3 times if I could check in but I received only the access card between 2:05-2:10. The other 2 men in the reception were helpful and friendly, though my credit card was charged twice but I received it back after 9 days, exactly the same as explained by one of the reception guys. However, these incidents would not affect my ratings which I still give them due credit.

Pros: I am an spg gold member and decided to use the gold elite crossover program at the marriott this year, to be honest the gold membership at marriott accounts fpor a lot more than it does at any of the spg hotels. we got an instant upgrade to a high floor "suite-ish" all windows corner room with a magnificent view of the lake, the lounge access guaranteed a full continental breakfast (think hot scrambled eggs, baked beans, breakfast potatoes and a lot lot more not just some cold apps that I usually get at the spg lounges) and full hot dinner - not just some snacks that spg hotels serve. to top it all vegetarian options at every turn. the hospitality was amazing at every step. I definitely recommend this hotel five star service!

Cons: When we arrived to the hotel The receptionist told us that she was going to give us an upgrade (we were happy becuase we weren’t asking for it) so she send us tomroom 3707 ( the smallest room at the hotel, specially for singles). My wife and I were upset about the size, so next morning we went to the front desk and met Joao Reies, great professional who inmediatly changed our room to the one we were expecting it. Thanks to him we had a great night. We want to thank Joao for his actitud and friendly listening to us..

The beds are none standard so a queen bed is two smaller ones next to each other. They must have used some cardboard to connect two smaller mattresses because the bed was so uncomfortable I slept 0 hours the first night. They will tell you they are out of mattress toppers. If you keep asking they will bring you a tinny one that doesn’t fit the mattress but it’s the best they can do...
They give you two single bnlankets for your queen bed. These things are so small that I couldn’t sleep with them. Nothing more romantic than sharing a queen bed but your partner is shivering under her own tinny blanket. When we asked for a queen blanket, we were told the hotel is fully booked and they don’t have any more... so they don’t stock enough bedding for all their beds...
Anyways I could tell you how my complaints lead to a duvet less blanket from the storage room that was so yellow and dirty and still not queen sized but I will skip that story...
DONT pay for the breakfast. Just ask to take a look before you commit. Mush of eggs were watery and the cheese and meat looked like they had been sitting out for days (8am). I have no idea how they get away with this overpriced breakfast.
So atmosphere sucks, food is bad, comfort is horrid, and the staff never asked if I needed anything or apologized for selling a queen room with amenities of a single room.

Cons: This place is under staffed and dirty. We were there for 3 night and only had one day of room cleaning and then they left the dirty sheets on the bed. Hallways are not vacuumed and dish from room service laying in the hallways with nobody to pick them up until the next day. The lounge was terrible with nobody around to help you. No hot food at dinner and no alcohol. The management knew we were unhappy and never tried to call us or touch base. Had to get our room keys re-done every night because the codes weren't good.

Pros: This is a descent hotel for the price, located very conveniently close to the Tram. Not far from the center but f the city and train station. Has a small gym and pool which was great for relaxing.

Pros: Hospitality and discipline, services from staff. Very much appreciated.Too much co-operation from staff. Even they helped for sightseeing planning and booking.Also shared rates of Indian food takeaway and clearly stated Food charges for 2 dishes was CHF 31 +delivery charges CHF30.
Cons: No Indian food.No Housekeeping services.Just to serve some crockery in room they asked CHF 5 but when it was collected from restaurant,no cost. Surprised as an Indian hotel practices was shocked.

Pros: was a clean hotel as expected of novotel, the staff was very friendly, there was a nice supermarket right opposite the hotel which was most convenient, perhaps it would have been far more appropriate for a business visitor
Cons: perhaps its a little off the city centre which should be known beforehand, the breakfast was simple and had limited options, the room seemed a little congested for a family of 4

Cons: The air conditioner was not working correctly. We had to move to another room to feel better. The hotel employee who came to see the problem, claimed that it was due to having four people in the room, ridiculous, but at least he was complacent in moving us to another room , which was much better.

Cons: Swimming pool was closed (18 Nov - 9 December, so this was a major closure). Very noisy drilling ongoing as part of renovation works from 8.30am - 6.30pm, including Saturday morning - lie-ins and daytime naps impossible which is important when travelling with a young family. Neither of this was communicated to us when we booked. When we tried to complain, front desk told us to talk to the manager, who was only available during office hours which is when we were out. We left a message with our complaint, and this was ignored.

Cons: Not many outlets and a few channels in English would be nice on television. I would have like to control heat in room as well since it was extremely warm, had window open most of night.

Cons: Kind of tired. A bottle of Olde English would go a long way to condition the original MCM furniture. Also, the decor/painting is very Oma’s attic. If you have heavy luggage the short walk to the Banhof seems a LOT longer.

No easy access to plugs for chargers. Other people complaining on my arrival. Overall a poor hotel which was expensive. Location was close to railway and shops etc.

Cons: Constantly searching for a place to put our stuff. No closet, a few hangers, and a VERY small desk. The worst part: For two nights, we payed for the room 198 CHF. That would be pretty much OK if we did not have to also pay the absurd amount of 144 CHF for two days of parking! This cost goes beyond expensive.
