Athens hotels near Metropolitan Church of Athens

Pros: The room was large, clean, and it came with a kitchen! Breakfast was great, and the area was excellent and very close to the metro. Can't beat it for the price!

Pros: Due to extensive flight delays we missed the first night of our reservation at St. George and did not arrive in Athens until 6AM. However, we forgot all about our troubles almost immediately after checking into this superb hotel. 1. Without even telling us they upgraded our room to the front side of the hotel which had absolutely incredible views of the Acropolis from our balcony. While it wasn't a large room (they never are in Europe!), it was clean, the bed was great, and the bathroom was perfectly OK. 2. Despite our exhaustion, we dragged ourselves out of bed just in time to catch breakfast. Went up to the 6th floor and was blown away by the 360 views of Athens. We asked if we could just grab a plate of food from the buffet (delicious selection) and take it back down to our room. Not only did they say yes, but they had someone carry our food down to the room ON A SILVER PLATTER. No jokes. Also, without even asking for it they sent with a hot carafe of coffee with STEAMED MILK. 3. On the last leg of our trip, coming back from an island, we had 12 hours to kill in Athens before heading to the airport. Despite no longer being guests for over 7 days they graciously stored our bags and let us hang out at the roof pool until we had to leave. WHAT. 4. Oh, and the pool is like a dream. Gorgeous pool with gorgeous Athens view with lounge chairs and great music. Happy hour is from 7-9 offering 6 euro cocktails. The neighborhood this hotel is in is really great and completely safe as it is where all the embassies are located. Since it's on a hill be prepared to climb! It is worth it as there are very charming buildings, great cafes, shops, and restaurants. You can be in Kolonaki (walking) in 15-20 minutes. There is a metro stop 7 blocks away that goes directly to the airport. WHY WOULD YOU STAY ANYWHERE ELSE? I know I won't be.... Thank you St. George! You made our trip.

Pros: Most of the staff was helpful and friendly with only a couple exceptions. Located in a safer/nice side of town that is much more quiet. Atm and money exchange available. Nice pool area and great pool staff but not enough sun chairs/space.

Pros: The staff were extremely warm, friendly and helpful. There was an issue when we checked in, finding our reservation, and they did not skip a beat to accommodate us while it was resolved. Breakfast was spectacular, the room and bathroom were exactly what we were looking for after a very busy days. The shuttle service closer to town was a huge help.

Pros: Staff went above and beyond to address some help that I needed. It was very much appreciated.

Pros: Everyone was so nice. The person that assisted us when we checked in went above and beyond. Even though we were checking out at 3 am before breakfast, he told us to call room service and they would have breakfast ready for us when we wanted or they would pack a breakfast to go! They were very accommodating!

Pros: Breakfast buffet that was included was very well done. The restaurant and pool on the roof were fantastic as well. Incredible views of the sunset and the city.

Pros: I enjoyed the rooftop bar and pool very much. The location isn't too bad. Metro and taxis easily available on a daily basis. Rooms were average but clean and comfortable.

Pros: The price is right, it's basic and the neighborhood is a bit sketchy. But it's walking distance to public transportation and the sights. Breakfast was good and the bag storage is a very nice touch.

Pros: Location near Omonia metro station, one of the three vertices of the downtown triangle (I was told) which encompasses the downtown shopping district.

Pros: Location was fantastic with it being close to all the restaurants in Plaka as well as Monasteraki. The rooms were well appointed and the bathrooms were probably the best that my girlfriend saw during our stay in Greece. The rooftop restaurant was world class with awesome views of Hadrien's gate. Highly recommend it. The staff at the reception were great at making reservations and helpful with directions.
