Cons: The rooftop restaurant is terrible! The view is incredible. The food there is as bad as it gets. Take in the view during the free breakfast; the meals they serve there at all other times is not worth paying for (it is disgusting, masquerading as "haute cuisine"
The spa is nice but lacks any written guidelines to ensure guest tranquility. Letting children use the spa and having no rules relating to that can ruin the experience for other guests. Kids shouldn't be in the hot tub/heated pool area unsupervised. Nor should they be learning how to swim or doing water tricks. It's supposed to be peaceful. Children shouldn't ruin experience for other guests. We couldn't use sauna or steam room because it was overrun with young kids. I have no problem with children but the lack of any rules or restrictions as it pertains to the spa is really problematic at Electra Metropolis. as a result my enjoyment of facilities was extremely limited.

Pros: The hotel was centrally located near everything we wanted to see. Its decor is simple, modern, and tasteful, and its staff was extremely helpful, particularly during check-in and check-out. Cons: We stayed at the hotel 2 nights--one at the beginning of our trip and one at the end. The first room we had at the beginning of our trip literally reminded me of a hostel I'd once stayed at--the bed was a hard board looking thing with a gross looking red coverlet (not even a comforter). We also did not get one bed but instead, two twins pushed together. When I returned on the last leg of my trip I mentioned this but they only had one room left and put me in an equally bad room (only after accidentally giving me the key to an occupied room). This room at least had better beds and bedding but because it was on the first floor, it had no natural sunlight (blocked by the building) and made me feel as if I was staying in someone's basement. It was also a smaller room than the first and we struggled to find a place out of the way to put both of our suitcases. The air conditioner also leaked water. It's a shame--beautiful hotel but sadly the rooms are not up to par. Perhaps at $200 US dollars/night I didn't spend enough to get a nice room?

Pros: Due to extensive flight delays we missed the first night of our reservation at St. George and did not arrive in Athens until 6AM. However, we forgot all about our troubles almost immediately after checking into this superb hotel.
1. Without even telling us they upgraded our room to the front side of the hotel which had absolutely incredible views of the Acropolis from our balcony. While it wasn't a large room (they never are in Europe!), it was clean, the bed was great, and the bathroom was perfectly OK.
2. Despite our exhaustion, we dragged ourselves out of bed just in time to catch breakfast. Went up to the 6th floor and was blown away by the 360 views of Athens. We asked if we could just grab a plate of food from the buffet (delicious selection) and take it back down to our room. Not only did they say yes, but they had someone carry our food down to the room ON A SILVER PLATTER. No jokes. Also, without even asking for it they sent with a hot carafe of coffee with STEAMED MILK.
3. On the last leg of our trip, coming back from an island, we had 12 hours to kill in Athens before heading to the airport. Despite no longer being guests for over 7 days they graciously stored our bags and let us hang out at the roof pool until we had to leave. WHAT.
4. Oh, and the pool is like a dream. Gorgeous pool with gorgeous Athens view with lounge chairs and great music. Happy hour is from 7-9 offering 6 euro cocktails.
The neighborhood this hotel is in is really great and completely safe as it is where all the embassies are located. Since it's on a hill be prepared to climb! It is worth it as there are very charming buildings, great cafes, shops, and restaurants. You can be in Kolonaki (walking) in 15-20 minutes. There is a metro stop 7 blocks away that goes directly to the airport.
WHY WOULD YOU STAY ANYWHERE ELSE? I know I won't be....

It is deceiving to advertise rooms with such misleading titles as "Superior Room with Acropolis View".

Cons: The beds are rock hard, and the staff can be a bit grouchy. While the staff who work mornings at breakfast seem quite helpful and attentive, the bar staff seemed annoyed that we were there. Key cards failed a couple times during a week-long stay, so I had to bring mine to the front desk twice to have it reprogrammed. Others seemed to have this issue too.

Cons: This hotel would have received a better review if I hadn’t been for the horrible transportation accommodations! In a detailed email I informed them that me and m family have 4 suit cases and 4 carry one so we would need room in transportation to bring us to the hotel. The driver was unaware completely that we had that much to bring with us and telephoned another taxi for us at half rate just to pick up our stuff. The next day when we were ready to leave the same thing happened only this time the driver never showed up to pick us up! So we had to call 2 taxis on a normal rate just to get us back to the airport. Bottom line because of this me and my recommendation will not be returning. For the hassle of spending time to call taxis and pushing suitcases I was better off spending my money at the Sophiitel across the airport.

Pros: I thought the lobby was nice however the location of the hotel is horrible. The rooms are not at all as described and you can hear everything that goes on so be prepared not to sleep. Not only are the rooms horrible and dirty the hotel apparently feels the need during certain times of the year to turn the A/C off in order to save money at no regards to there guests. The temperature in our room reached over 100 degrees. Also the roof top restaurant doesn't exist. They expect you too just deal with it all the while giving them your money. Good luck getting a refund I've never heard so many lies in my life from anyone business. In short this hotel is a big scam and it shouldn't be rated as a four star it should be a 1 star at best. Save yourself the time and headache of dealing with George the useless manager who likes to lie and his crappy hotel and stay somewhere else.
