adequate city hotel rtaher lifeless
As our room was in the building that was recently renovated, the facilities were brand-new. The location is convenient to visit Acropolis. We were annoyed by their house-keeping services. Everytime they cleaned the room, they forgot to supply glasses and cups. And the most disappointing thing was that they didn't clean the room one day even though I put on the 'make up room' light and even asked them to clean the room over the phone. When I returned to the room in the evening to find the room had not got cleaned and complained, the lady didn't apologize. She dared to say it was because I had put on the 'do not disturb' light, which was not true.
Close to Acropolis & main sights Clean & comfortable Courteous staff Breakfasts, although varied in selection, were poorly prepared.
it was not realy what i ecpected from i 5 star hotel when they mention that its possible to add a bed in a room then they should be ready for it and could organise
the location; the room; the staff shuttle (does not exists)
excellent location staff was forgetful
Location was great, the room was very nice, with a balcony. The roof deck was closed, one of the biggest selling points on the hotel. Also, no transportation service available to/from airport.
Excellent location very close to the Acropolis in a nice little residential neighborhood. There is a Spar supermarket down the street and a small convenience store on the same block. We found our room to be very comfortable. We had a balcony with a nice view over Athens. I would definitely stay here again. The bathroom was a bit impractical: when you shower, the water goes all over the floor. Also, the sink is very shallow.
Beautifully decorated and clean room and helpfull staff Breakfast was too expensive
Location and professional staff Very bad beds, sheets and blankets. Almost 'YMCA level'
roof top restaurant overlooking akropolis
Our second stay at Divani, and it was lovely. The staff offers excellent service and is very attentive. The location is the best as all major sights can be easily reached by walking or the metro. the room was fabulous. I would highly, highly recommend it to all. on the night of the August full moon, we had dinner on the patio. we overlooked the acropolis and it was very memorable
The roof top terrace and the lobby area with the reading materials. No.
the central position the noise in the room
I have stayed in many hotels around the world and I must say the Herodion was easily one of the best. All the staff were extremely helpful and very professional. The presentation of the hotel felt like 5 stars and the food was amazing. My wife and I have every intention of staying there again should we go back to Athens on holiday. The only minor points that stopped the Herodion getting full marks in every aspect was that the bed in the double room was actually two single beds pushed side by side and the pillows/matress was a little hard.
The hotel was ideally located, in a quiet area with lots of restaurants nearby and the Acropolis museum metro stop. It also had a rooftop garden and jacuzzi with a stunning view over to the Acropolis, which was ideal for relaxing away from the hustle and bustle of downtown Athens. Clean, comfortable and good choice of food at breakfast time. As other customers have already commented, It would have been nicer if the Jacuzzi was free to use (at the moment its costs EUR5 for each 15minutes)
The lobby was beautiful with artistic wire statues and a bar/restaurant with trees growing through it. The staff is very professional and tries to be very helpful (though both times I stayed at the hotel there was not a doorman to greet me and carry my luggage up the steps). Gorgeous rooftop bar and a nice jacuzzi area on the floor below it. We stayed at the hotel 2 nights--one at the beginning of our trip and one at the end. The first room we had at the beginning of our trip literally reminded me of a hostel I'd once stayed at--the bed was a hard board looking thing with a gross looking red coverlet (not even a comforter). We also did not get one bed but instead, two twins pushed together. When I returned on the last leg of my trip I mentioned this but they only had one room left and put me in an equally bad room (only after accidentally giving me the key to an occupied room). This room at least had better beds and bedding but because it was on the first floor, it had no natural sunlight (blocked by the building) and made me feel as if I was staying in someone's basement. It was also a smaller room than the first and we struggled to find a place out of the way to put both of our suitcases. The air conditioner also leaked water. It's a shame--beautiful hotel but sadly the rooms are not up to par. Perhaps at $200 US dollars/night I didn't spend enough to get a nice room?
Comfortable room with an excellant view to the acropolis. Quite and nice surrounding with a short walking to the centre of the city.
Great value for money, well located close to the Acropolis, nice common areas and pleasant breakfast room. Rooms are well equipped and very clean. Bathroom a bit dated, but very clean. No issues. Room had no view, but for the money, more than acceptable.
Good situated within Athens, but noisy traffic for the front rooms on first floor. Asked for an upgrade to a bigger room and got the answer that all rooms have the same size which wasn't true as we could see by passing some rooms where the door was open. Well, we arranged with it.
Very comfortable beds,a great view of the Acropolis, clean rooms.good breakfast buffet no complaints, but rquest a room on the Acropolis side, not the street side.
Firstly location: very close to Acropolis and Plaka district. Almost in front of touristic bus (nbr 400) stop. Then we liked because we asked through the website a room for 1 couple and 1 adult with view and they arranged exactly that. And finally good service and a beautiful terrace facing Acropole, with also 2 jacuzzis. Not really.
The location of the hotel is great, with easy access to the Acropolis, Acropolis Museum and the Acropolis Metro. Make sure to ask for an outside facing room as some rooms can be small and cramped. The downstairs lobby area is very nice with a good atmosphere to sit and talk or to read/write. Sometimes the rooms can be cramped and dark. Sometimes cab drivers can't locate it, but just tell them to drop you off by the Acropolis Museum and you can navigate it easily.
This is the perfect location for exploring Athens. Safe Street, restaurants and shopping nearby, immediately adjacent to the modern and magnificent Acropolis museum. Staff were friendly and accommodating. The rooms were very quiet and the rooftop view of the Acropolis is spectacular.
Nice clean room, near to the places we wanted to visit
Excellent location. Steps away from the New Acropolis Museum. Steps away from a pedestrian only street with lots of restaurants, coffee shops, and street performances. Very close to the Acropolis and the Metro station. The pedestrian only street allows you to go all the way around the Acropolis and see other antiquities such as the Agora and the Thiseum. Excellent free breakfast with 50 different dishes. It is a full breakfast, not a continental breakfast as is it appears in the description of the hotel. Nothing. It was better than I expected.
Amazing location near the Parthenon, the Acropolis museum, the metro, and the Plaka tourist shopping area. Plenty of tavernas, gyros, and gelato nearby. Our room on the 3rd floor was nice and quiet. The bed was comfortable so I got a very good sleep. The full breakfast had many choices - breads, cereals, eggs, meat, cheese, yogurt+honey, feta+cucumber+tomato, fruit, etc. I wish I could stay longer!
The location was great and the staff were great too
Location is good. Very close to the Acropolis and near Plaka. Could use some updating and room could have been cleaner.
In the end, good service We had assumed, based on photos and text, that the Parthenon hotel had views of the Parthenon. When we arrived, it had views of a blank wall a few feet away. After some argument with the reception they admited to having one room with a partial view, which we took.
clena and great location with a good buffet breakfast the price is a little hig and bathrooms are a little old (but clean)
The breakfast served by the hotel was excellent. No.
The prompt help of the staff in order to solve the variuous problems The fact that it was very cold in the room during the night and we were told that if outside is warm the hotel doesn't turn on the heating! Very original, but quite cold to have a nice sleep!IT'S Not at all a real 4 stars hotel, but only a 3 (greek way)! Poor choice of breakfast, no fresh fruits, only frozen ones!
Giota was exremely helpful and nice as were all of your staff. Giota went out of her way to see that we were well informed and helped.
We stayed for 5 nights as part of a wedding party and found that the hotel was ideally situated for sightseeing, shopping, restaurants, etc., All in all enjoyed our stay and found that it was excellent value for money for city centre hotel. Everything was close by, including metro and restaurants (just outside front door) and the breakfast served on the roof terrace was always one of the highlights of the day made better by the company we were in. Thoroughly enjoyed it!!!
Definitely the location, cleanliness, and breakfast buffet.
Lovely view of Acropolis from my window/balcony.
Breakfast at the terrace and the location are fantastic. The staff is super kind and helpful. Shower too small, but I knew before I got there so it was not a surprise.
location. lovely rooftop terrace for breakfast not really ,although bath/shower was very small
Excellent stay. A room with superb view.
Excellent location - proximity to sights and tours. Great roof top breakfast facilities. Unpleasant odour in bathroom, air conditioner didn't work
The roof restaurant where you can have a good view of the Acropolis is perfect!! Everything is perfect, although it is expensive, it worths.
excellent location bathrooms need updating/replacing
Clean, neat , very close to Plaka Small rooms, receptionists should greet their costumers, be more friendly, there is a feeling that you bother them.
good position, the room was clean and quite comfortable. i couldn't pay with my credit cards, only with cash money
position is good my room is the first room next to reception, too annoying and too loud outside
Located walking distance to sites, transport, and the older part of the city.
Thursday morning desk clerk tried to confirm my airline flight. I would have liked help dragging my heavy bag up the front stairs.
That it was in good location. Hotel Staff not speak good english and very helpfull, breakfast really bad, room extremely small and dirty, too expensive for what you get.
All our comments relate to the Herodion Hotel, sister of the Philippos Hotel. The hotel management had very kindly upgraded us to the Herodion for the same price as the Philippos because our airline (BA) caused us to arrive 6 hours late, well after midnight. The beds were a little bit harder than we would have wished.
The staff was sooo nice. We arrived quite late and they did not bat an eye. One morning we slept in and missed breakfast, they served us anyway and did not charge us an additional fee. The bed was a bit hard.
Personal was very kind and responsive Wi - Fi didn't work in our room
It was at a premium location, we had a view of Acropolis from our balcony. Very clean. It was in a residential area, so nice and quiet at nights. The lady serving in the breakfast room was making too much noise when putting away the crockery.
Great location and the staff were extremely helpful in providing prompt info. on how to get to the hotel via e-mail. The roof top terrace was lovely. The room / bathroom was somewhat dated and worn.
Close to acropolis and have a rooftop view to acropolis . Far from metro. No hot coffee percolator in the room.
Close to the Acropolis, staff were very helpful and friendly, great view of the Acropolis from the room top deck. No safe in the room to store valuables. Breakfast could have had a little more variety.
The location is excellent with a view of the Acropolis. The breakfast was great to start our day, especially fresh fruit. The staff was outstanding in the assistance with any restaurant recommendations and transportation needs. Nothing!!!
Location was excellent. Manager & staff were extremely helpful & knowledgeable. All was good!
Clean, comfortable and not expensive. Rooms small and dated. Parking difcicult.
Yes, it has an excellent location. But I think it is resting on its laurels with that quite lazily. It did have a nice clean bathroom with good lighting and no poor smell. The room had a disgustingly stained carpet and the patio door did not lock. With the very outdated light fixtures (switches near the ground!), beds on wheels and a wall radio, it looked like a 1979 mental institution.
The hotel was in a splendid location with a excellent view of the acropolis.
Location is excellent, metro ariund the corner, hotel itself not spectacular, just what we wanted. no complaints
Very clean, very quiet room. Easy walking distance to Acropolis.
The location was amazing, the staff were so friendly and helpful and the terrace on the roof was amazing over looking the acropolis!
Great location, very convenient, amazing views. Awesome roof patio. The room was clean and so were the bathrooms, but we had selected a private bathroom, and there were only public bathrooms (2 toilet/shower units for the whole floor).
The location, at the foot of the Acropolis in a beautiful historical touristy area, was perfect. I had a great view of the Acropolis from my particular balcony (try to request such a room). Also, it was really hot in Athens but the A/C worked brilliantly. The bed was pretty stiff and there wasn't much room in the room, BUT I knew that going in. It's a great-value 2-star hotel in an awesome area. I got what I paid for and it was great. Oh, the TV didn't work...but I wasn't there to watch TV.
It's in the Plaka district, close to all the special sites on and near the acropolis, and fairly easy to reach by the metro. Do not bring your car, however. Parking is almost non-existent.
The hotel was wonderfully located at the base of Acropolis. Easy to walk to the entrance and surrounding attractions. The bathroom wasn't in the room, it was across the hall. If I had to use the restroom at night I had to worry about running into someone in my pajamas in the hall.
