GRAND BEACH HOTEL IS A GREAT HOTEL WITH A GREAT STAFF..... THE ROOMS ARE GREAT WITH 2 FULL BATHS AND THE VIEWS ARE TO DIE FOR...... THEY DON'T TELL YOU ALL THE HIDDEN FEES UNTIL ARRIVAL
The Grand Beach had it all, great service, great food, great beach, great location. Beautiful huge room with everything I needed in great condition and so clean, I can still feel the white carpet on my bare feet. It rained a little, other than that , perfect, I would go there again, or everytime I went to Miami beach.
My stay at GBH was wonderful. The rooms were spacious and clean, the staff was friendly and the hotels backyard was Miami Beach.. What more could you ask for? I didn't like the $20/day resort fee that wasn't included in the overall price and the fact that they charge $100 per night on your credit card at time of check in- in the case there are damages to the room.. Although you do get your money back upon check out if all is fine.
Great location, right on the beach, nice big bright rooms, comfortable need and sofa in the room, 2 huge TV in room, heated pool for chilly days, non heated pool for hot days. Really family friendly, delicious breakfast, Good kids menu. The pillows are way too big and stiff.
Location, rooms, ocean front. Noise in room when a/c came on. Didn't get fixed before we left. 35 dollar a day valet parking.
Grand beach hotel is a very beautiful hotel located on Collins ave with direct access to the beach. They have two pool and two hot tubs on the ground floor, but we really enjoyed the pool and hot tubs on the 7th floor rooftop. The hotel is great for families or groups as it affords the ability to join adjacent rooms. The continental breakfast is pretty expensive at $25 and doesn't hold much value at $25.
The rooms were clean, it's a 4:00 check in but I got to the hotel at 11:00am and they had one ready and had no problem getting us in the room. I had the partial ocean view which was nice. Beds were comfortable. The pool was nice the access to the beach was convenient. I didn't like the fact that as much as you pay to stay that nothing was complementary. The food and drinks were overly expensive but you're in Miami everything will be expensive. No microwave in the hotel at all. I didn't care for the $100/per night deposit but they refund it fairly quickly after your stay if nothing is wrong with your room. The resort fees are deducted the last day of your stay. The women's lobby bathroom always smelled. The elevators were slow. One time getting on I was almost stuck in one had it not been for someone prying the doors open.
The location of the property was awesome. Food options were limited and expensive.
Hotel cleanliness, beautiful decor, waterfront Staff attitudes toward customers, specifically in Valet. They made crude comments and gestures behind the backs of other guests. Also staff attitudes toward business, like they didn't want to be there and didn't mind showing it.
3 pools, 1 adult, 1 all heated, 1 all cool games for kids to play near pool pool was super shaded with palmtrees rooms were clean rooms with balcony have 2 full bathrooms w/ showers easy access to beach from pool constant towel service as needed 2 beach chairs w/ umbrella at beach comes with room rate 24 hr food room service gelato in the lobby entire staff (valet, bell, front desk, pool deck) were super friendly & attentive room rate a little pricey food by pool was OK, could be better valet took a little long for car to arrive, but overall OK
No Option for self-parking. In addition to the resort fee, keep in mind to spend $35 per day on valet parking. Overall, the hotel is nice and clean with heated pools and access to the beach. Staff is mix, some very friendly and some not so much.
Excellent customer service and amazing rooms!
Stayed for 5 nights. Had food at every restaurant practically in he hotel, each one better than the other. The pool and the facilities were exceptional. They had a superman at the pool deck - think his name was Sam. Everything eas exceltional but he was very courteous and took extra care of our 9 year and ensured he loved the pool and the hotel.
The hotel was very clean, most staff members are very polite and friendly. The facilities provides adult pool separate to the regular pool for those trying to have an adult only trip. I had a few dislikes and not sure about returning. Staff tried their best to accommodate us for our concerns. My biggest dislike was the construction, all pools close at 8pm, and approach taking by some staff members to the facilities selective concerns with my family members.
Canceled reservation with one day's notice.
Staff was very friendly, courteous and accomodating, food and drinks were delicious. The beds were so comfortable that I did not want to get up. The convenient access to the beach was great, as well as the beach chair amenity, twas welcomed! Due to the inconveniences my sister, cousins and I were given complimentary tickets for drinks and breakfast. Some staff were not truthful when faced with conflicting situations, which led to a lot of unwanted and unnessary aggravation, and wasted time. A lot of renovation was, and still is taking place, which also added to 2 of 4 elevators being unaccessible. Thus waiting for the elevator was a task. And getting on the elevator was another task, then getting to your room or the lobby was another task in itself. Had I known about the renovation that I was not told about, I would have booked another hotel. The room was not a replica of the luxurious room that was pictured. The refrigerator was not working, thank God I did not have my kids with me.
Right next to Fountainbleu. On the beach. Solid amenities. Nice bar scene at night. A little up from southbeach. Wish it was closer but you cant complain. Long walk to convenient stores
Relaxed pool environment Service by staff was slow
Pool was awesome, a few seconds to the beach. Very nice looking lobby, super comfy beds. Construction everywhere. I was not expecting it and would have chosen somewhere else had I known. Did not make for a relaxing day laying out by the pool with the constant pounding of a jack hammer in the background. Drinks and food were super overpriced for the size and amount of alcohol. Everything included 18-20% gratuity which will catch you off guard.
Eden Roc's resort is nice. The private beach and pools are the best part of the hotel. Cabana restaurant was also good - but, they don't serve brunch and stop serving breakfast at 11am (a little early if you're on vacation). The food is a bit over priced as well. It's a good place to bring your family. DONT STAY AT THIS HOTEL. WAIT UNTIL THEYVE FINISHED RENOVATING. The majority of the hotel is under construction. The entire lobby is closed off with white curtains due to the construction, leaving only the elevators and front desk assessable. The set-up makes the hotel dark and depressing. The decor is outdated. The staff at the front desk was not friendly at all. Most of all, the rooms in the main tower are NOT what you will expect them in a resort. We stayed in a deluxe king room and it was tiny! The view was terrible! If you're going to stay here you have to stay in the ocean view tower and don't be afraid to pay for the best rooms available: only then will your stay be worth your buck.
The only issue was all the construction we were NOT warned about!!
I was grateful that I was upgraded to a suite, but I think there are better options on Miami beach. Would rather spend a little more to stay at a better resort. Facilities out of order. Neither the men's nor women's bathroom in the lobby was functioning. Elevators not working properly- had to wait 15 minutes for an elevator!! Mosquitos all over my room. The mattress on my bed felt more like a box spring than a mattress. It was not comfortable at all. One of the people who delivered room service to my room suggested I should add the "additional gratuity" because the hotel doesn't give him any of the gratuity that's already included. Overall, this hotel was FAR from a luxury experience. Needs lots of work.
Renovations were taking place during my stay. It was extremely loud. Difficult to enjoy my room or time at the pool.
Overall very good experience. Excellent location and service. Rooms are clean. Spa was lovely. Upper pool is under construction and spa pool in bad need of renovation. The beach facing bar/ restuarant will also be a huge amenity when open (in the spring?) but I missed having a second food option onsite and ended up going next door.
The valet and restaurants service was ok. It was dated. The sheets in the bed were torn up. The phone was dirty. The fridge was broken (found out about that after 200 in good spoiled ). There was some woman that I could only say was a pimp yelling and cursing on her cell phone. When we asked if she could be removed they told us that she brings them a lot of business and is there all of the time. The elevator was old and their food was disgusting. I would never even walk through that place again even after they renovate
View, No working shower, had to pay $45.00 to park my veichle the hotel! I mean are you kidding me, that's like going out to eat, and the paying the restraint to use their bathroom! Then I get up at 6am to get ready for my 8 am meeting, and the shower does not work!!! Unreal, sink was stopped up, bell hop watched me struggle down the stairs with my luggage. Terrible staff and service, if I wanted no service I would have stayed in a day's inn!!
Me & my boyfriend loved the main lobby decor it was great. The room was small and old tvs.
The convenience to the beach. Staff friendlyness and helpfulness. The price was very reasonable, the hotel structure and arts are beautiful. The hotel needs a renovation ASAP, the pool was extremely too small for the amount of people staying at the resort, they need to build more pools and perhaps a few hot tubs. The water front restaurant and bars needs renovation, cleanliness and more variety on drinks and food.
The staff was very friendly for the most part and the location was in close proximity to Eden Rock where I attended a conference but couldn't stomach the extra 150 per night. The decor is so dated. The carpet, drapes, doors, fixtures, etc were in desperate need of updating. its relatively clean but so warn out. The room had an odd L shaped layout with no real purpose for extra space. An old tube TV, like 27 inches in an delapidated armoire that was literally 25 feet from the foot of my bed. needed binoculars.
Nothing!!! Ashley at check in was ridiculously horrible!!! Manger came out he was horrible & no help!!! I was given t wrong info abt check not my fault but I'm t one they looking at crazy!!! Room was filthy hair every were left over definitely not mines!!!!/ Mildew in t bathroom.... Chipped paint, top sheet stinked, rooms old!!! I can complain all day abt that place especially t rude staff!!! Please don't waste your money on this hotel!!!! I read how rude t staff was but I always give people a chance boy was I wrong on this one!!!!!! Don't waste ur money!!
View and staff That I couldn't stay longer
My room wasn't ready they put me in a smaller room with a single king size bed, I was traveling with my wife and two kids. the next next day I had to check out spend the entire day outside until 4pm then they didn't bring me my bags until six pm. When I asked to speak and complain to the manager. He offered an insignificant resolution that still left us completely unsatisfied.
I appreciated the staff upfront. The breakfast was great! The view was awesome. Due to me booking the room via a 3rd party website, I had to wait for a extended period of time to get my room. The front desk were doing everything they could to help me. In the room it was old. The TV didn't work and there were no towels in the room. So I had to go down stairs twice. The towels were old. After that it was ok. I would stay again. The old room is no fault of the staff.
The lobby of the hotel Rude staff, charging for the Minni Bar every after paying for hotel. Old tv that didnt work.
that they "upgraded" me to a room for my inconvenience. The upgraded room was a so shitty and out dated the bathroom with black and white tiles looked like a black and white checker board ,, the room looked haunted ,,, the toilet was running all night long ,,, you couldn't flush the toilet ,, and it was just not worth the money!!!!
Liked cleanliness and large rooms
I would to stay in next building that's much batter than this resort Everything
It is a quite and comfortable place
the relaxed atmosphere
I did like that the hotel has a Subway its very convinient being able to go down to the lobby to get breakfast/lunch, specially because there are not very many restaurants in walking distance from the hotel. The service that some of the staff provided including the owner/manager was very poor. They were unhelpful, had horrible attitude and didn't do their the best to make us feel comfortable at all. Friends got stuck in the elevator, the front desk lady wasnt even concerned or didn't even call the fire dept. and I fell going up the stairs because the elevator was not working and the hotel staff didn't even move a finger to do anything about it. Horrible Horrible!!
It was a clean and comfortable place for cheap. No extra ammenties or services, such as pool or parking, etc.
It was close to facilities to get anywhere in the city, from Souith Beach to Airport to Downtown. Breakfast was poor
ecellent; would return
Good position. Friendly Staff Room clean and with a good services (coffee machine, Fridge, Cable TV) Big, clean and nice Bathroom The Breakfast buffet is good, but a little bit poor
Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Everything was OK.
The subway that was right downstairs was convenient and the staff were always willing to help. The room was very small and not comfortable.
It was quiet & tranquil. Enjoyed watching the few wedding ceremonies. Hotel staff cordial & efficient. Breakfast by the pool was enjoyable. Size of hotel just right cozy & understated rooms were comfortable we had small size rooms when we arrived & when we requested larger rooms they accommodated us. Would recommended to our friends. Cannot recall that there was anything we did not like about the service or the hotel.
Close to the beach and spa is nice. The rooms are cramped but nicely furnished. I am an experienced business and leisure traveler. I've stayed at over 250 hotels all over the world and I have never experienced such poor customer service from the front lobby employees. They seemed to purposely not want to accommodate any request. I would never want to stay here again even though I liked other aspects of the hotel.
Great location, beautiful grounds, great food! A little pricey, but everything is in Miami Beach
Nice place with excellent happy hour. Front desk service was very poor, I was kept waiting at time of my check-out while the front desk manager( never acknowledging my presence) was talking to a couple at great length about the best restaurants in town and other possible points of interest, all the while the concierge sitting at her desk directly behind us had nothing to do, finally after about ten minutes another front desk manager came out to assist me. I also did not like the $19 " hotel fee" for pool towels I did not ask for or use! When I politely asked to have the charge removed I was gruffly told "No". All the above left a bad taste in my mouth as I departed on what otherwise was an overall positive experience.
I adored the pool and beach area.... Just spectacular! Very relaxing! The rooms were nice. However, the first room they put us in smelled of mildew. Then they said they didn't have any other rooms to move is to. When I started freaking out, they found us a new room that was much better. Everything else was amazing! Great spa! Overall I would stay again!
Room's view was gorgeous. Tiki bar and pool were hopping and service was attentive. Beds were fulls and not queens so me, my wife and daughter were cramped. We were told facilities and services were 24 hours but pool area was a dark ghost town after 9 pm while neighboring hotels were jumping. $37 a day for parking was very high.
The hotel was beautiful. The grounds lovely and the complimentary chair massage a plus. I didn't like the 19 dollar daily fee tacked on to your bill.
My stay at the Palms Resort felt like being in paradise! All services and facilities were exceptional. The check in [front desk] staff was not the friendliest. The staff person told me that my reservations were made by HotelBeds and that the room preference was not guaranteed when reservations were made through 3rd party sites. I asked to speak with a manager and was told that the person was on a short break. The manager never spoke to me, however I was given the double room per the reservation.
Everything. Couldn't open the windows. They gave out straws with every glass of liquid. The breakfast baked goods were disappointing. Not enough recycling locations. The ice from the hallway machine tasted strange. They accepted a doubled tip at our first meal. (Miami includes the tip.) (Would not have used ac if windows had opened.) And just to say I assume that when these issues are taken care of the prices will rise beyond my reach. Boo hoo!!!!!!!!!
Close to beach Not a hotel for a family of 4. I should have asked for a double bed room.
everything i liked it was good no
The staff is outstanding, very helpful and pleasant. The rooms are too small, both the bedroom and the bath room. There is not room for a chair even! Maybe there is room for one or two chairs outside the room? It would be possible outside my room (30101)
My daughter spent hours in the heated pool - it had a nice small hotel ambience with good service. Our view of the local parking garage could have been better.
Rooms are noisy Lots of sound /noise transmission from floor above
The staff was all extremely friendly, helpful and wanted to make your stay the best. The hotel seemed clean, modern, and quirky (darn I say, tropical hipster)! We were able to pay for a spot in the parking lot which allowed us access to come and go as we pleased. it was very close to the beach and boardwalk which was a nice treat. The breakfast was expensive like most places, but they didn't restock things and they were suppose to come around to offer drinks and after 20 minutes of everyone else getting drinks I finally had to flag someone down from coffee. Also, the downside to smaller hotels...thinner walls!
Very nice and well designed rooms and common areas. No frills, stylistic design. Great bed. Liked the hotel very much. Parking is available at $19 and close to the hotel. Beach is close, Ocean Drive is half an hour walk (or take the bus for a small fee).
Close to the Beach + Very friendly Staff A bit noisy
We were given a less catherogry room than resderved.
Clean well decorated rooms. Quiet at night. Great value for the money with all the amenities that you will need. Resort fee but all hotels in the area have it. At least it's reasonable. Wifi could be faster.
Close locations to the beach and away from South Beach, so no late night parties.
nice staff, nice environment. impossible to find a parking
Nothing fancy but clean and the beds are very good. Neat design, the location isn't bad, and it has a pool and a nice garden. The drink prices are very high
What I liked about this hotel was that it was smack dab in between Miami Beach and and South Beach so it was close to the boardwalk if you wanted to walk to to the beaches or walk up or down Collins Ave, and the other thing I liked was that it was value for your money, only a block away there is a supermarket store on 27 and Collins and they also sell cuban meals which was very good and cheap....,I also liked the fact that when we came home at night from partying in south beach it was tranquil and a place of solace knowing you wouldn't have to deal with any noise pollution. Breakfast was okay it could be better.....
Best deal in Miami. Great staff, great pool, prime location. Broken Shaker is dope too.
Need more hearty breakfast
I was impressed by the design of the hotels and its rooms as well as its restaurant.
The lobby and pool area are great. Friendly staff. I stayed in a women's quad and a woman's 8 bunk dorm. Both very clean and orderly. Could use some minor upgrades for the seating. Since it's so humid in Florida I would suggest mildew, resistant chairs. The ones they have now trap moisture and smell a little. This hostel is located directly across the street from the bus stop, beach and boardwalk which is an easy bike ride or walk down famous Collins Ave (hotel district). The hostel rents bikes - the first 2 hours are FREE). The free daily breakfast is excellent. Fresh fruit, pastries, assortment teas, cereal and oatmeal. More than enough to fill your belly and take some for the road. There is a restaurant on site but I didn't eat there. If your budget is tight and you need a decent friendly hostel near to everything (especially if you are on foot), stay here. The bathrooms in the women's quad need UPGRADING! They have old-fashioned tubs that catch grime and the drains look gross. The toilets and sinks are older. I also stayed in an 8-bed room and the bathrooms were much nicer. The lines at the front desk can be long since there are typically only 2 staff, BUT they are friendly so don't argue!
Only one thing was good: women from reception was very friendly and helpful Hotel is very very old, upper conditoner was leaking to our conditioner all the time (sometimes they tryed to fix this problem by puting a towel on it) and bathroom is really old and most things didnt worked well. breakfast musted to be untill 10.00 but at 09.20 usually was no coffee, restoran didnt work, pool bar also. the price for this hotel is too hight.
Everything perfect. Bathroom in the room - clean - great breakfast - garden and nice area outside to have breakfast - swimming pool - team very nice Not so many stores around - no more coffee and/or tea after 10am
Location near beach. Good breakfast. Rooms were well equipped, clean and beds were comfortable Noisy when bar is open Not so appropriate for family with small kids
Location, beach and municipal transport really good polystyrene cups for the morning coffee.
Cool hostel with pool and bar right next to the beach
Adrian who is the bell hop was the nicest guy I have ever meet. Late check out upgraded us to a suite Cool art work the coffee was not good
I was accommodated in every way. The staff was very friendly especially (Adrian) hope I spelled his name right. He was very attentive and a great bonus to the stay I didn't like that fact that you aren't allowed to use the fridge for personal items and we were locked out of our room before checkout
We were welcomed by amazing staff including Chris who helped us become familiarized with the city! The private beach was only a 2 minute walk and restraints were about 5-10min walking distance. I would recommend an uber if you want to go further south because it ranged only $5-$7 a ride. Last, my favorite part of the hotel was the canope room! Very relaxing environment for anybody to get work done or even conversation. Would recommend to a friend
We enjoyed our stay. It was comfortable and relaxing. It was also close to the beach! We wished they had better parking accommodations (only valet). We could hear other visitors at night through the walls and floors. There was construction occurring within the hotel during the day.
Parking is $55 per night. That is absurd.
Great job by all of the staff; excellent comfort, tasty food. Cool lobby and bar. Just a fantastic spot.
Excellent staff + good value + good beach access + great location Thin walls (could easily hear people next door) + hard bed
Michael, from the staff was excellent and attentive, and personable. All staff was very nice and welcoming but Michael, went above and beyond in the morning for us! Very cute hotel, rooms were clean, decor was beautiful loved inside and outside of hotel. Rooms were very spacious for two friends! No pool, but did provide towels and beach chairs, and because I arrived late at night we didn't get our complimentary drinks upon arrival.
Casa Claridge, like I stated in my title is practically a home away from home, except of course with the Beach being a block away. The amenities, staff and location are all top-notch. We needed an iron and ironing board as well as a crib for our infant daughter and at the drop of a dime, it was hauled up to our room. When you check-in, the complimentary champagne is a classy touch! Would definitely recommend. Cheers!! We would've like to have windows in the room, that Actually open and closed. Especially in the bathroom
Comfortable and clean room close to the beach Friendly front desk staff Restaurant was VERY slow; The beach umbrella/chair guy looked and acted like a meth head Was triple charged for the room - still trying to work this out Our room had a view of a construction site
access to Faena beach. adorable rooftop terrace and clean beautiful room
We chose Casa Claridge because they support local artists and have a great display of artwork. The rooms are very comfortable, too.
Beautiful setting! Friendly staff! Beds hard as rocks! Small throw pillows/no bed sized pillows! Room looked shabby and in need of up date! Trim in bathroom rusty! Just kind of second class accommodations!
Proximity to the convention center and beach. In Breakfast, vegetarean choice was very limited. No good malls/ shopping areas nearby. Lincoln mall was not so good.
Comfortable bed, good shower, good breakfast for an additional charge. The beach and board walk are awesome. The action of South Beach is minutes away by bus or cab. The staff was very nice. The pool is small and the pool bar was closed for renovations. Everyday we woke up to loud repairs being done in the hallway. The chairs and umbrellas on the beach are an additional $25 a day, cash only. Fortunately, they discounted our stay because of these complaints.
Benach and pool Restaurant servicio.
Location Service Smell of weed in our room and hallway.
Loved the views Charging my 7 year old 25 cents for a plastic spoon is outrageous!! And they had an issue with us requesting more towels! When cleaning the room they sometimes didn't even bother putting in new coffee equipment. The bathroom was barely clean, when's the last time they mopped? You had to be your own valet and bus boy at times. Ugh never again.
Location is great, matress was good The staff was unfriendly and not very helpful. The room had an excellent view, but was very loud (icemachine in front of the door, the door didn´t shut closely, neither the window. The aircondition could not be controled well (just on/off) and the bathroom wasn´t very clean. The hotel looks very old fashioned. Parking was expensive.
The staff, the view, the confort, very clean and very clear, the localization, I liked everything, no complains.
Hotel is run down and needs a reno. Not a 3 star hotel
The bathrooms were not up to date and the carpets were not clean. The room did not smell fresh and inviting.
yes. too small of a pool, univiting and not very nice location....
Location and ocean view
the location of the hotel there was too much noise between 1:00am and 8:00 am; rooms were quite old and not clean enough; bed clothes were too old; air conditioner for all hotel was too noisy all night; You can´t control room temperature; bathroom wasn´t ok.
Clean, close to the beach, budget Noise
Nothing Yes, everything. This was the worst hotel I have stayed in my life. Our room was located in the lobby of the hotel where people were partying all night long. When we asked the receptionist to ask this people to stop making noise because there were other guests trying to sleep, he not only didn’t want to do anything but also was very rude. I definitely don’t recommend this hotel to anybody.
no free parking, only central air conditioning control, very cold at night, weird people in the hotel, much noise at night, very very poor breakfast, problems with internet connection
cheap for miami beach bathroom was old & not very clean, could hear neighbours through a/c and walls
i really like the fact that it was very close to the beach(like 1 min.away) and we got a room which actually faced to the ocean itself.Palm trees everywhere,it is really a lifetime experience.I recommend this hotel to everyone since there is daily housekeeping, breakfast(only croissant, jellies, butter, coffee, quite simple but does not matter since there are a lotof shops around.)Choos this one and do not think anymore :P The only thing was the construction next to the hotel. Those amigos are quite noisy :P but they shut the hell up by night :)
I liked the hotel in every aspect. I will definitely come again... Valet parking...a bit too expensive and longish wait....
The staff is amazing and was really helpful.
The customer service was great and very comfortable beds Just a lil out the way from south beach had to take a lot of car services
A friend and I came to Hotel Croydon for an extended girls weekend and to run the Miami Half Marathon. It was such a great experience! The staff is friendly, the rooms are gorgeous, and the beach access is so convenient. We booked through Kayak which saved us some money - it was such a great value. I highly recommend this hotel for couples, friends, and families. One thing to take note of... the hotel shuttle came to the airport to pick us up on the hour. This is an automatic thing - they come every hour on the hour. However, when you're using the shuttle to come back to airport you MUST schedule first with the front desk. We found out the hard way that it wasn't an automatic pick up and had to jump in a cab very quickly.
Everything valet $36
Overall positive experience with quality of the rooms, restaurant, housekeeping and staff attitudes Front desk definitively provided erroneous information regarding the shuttle to the airport forcing us to pay for transportation that was supposed to be included; staff seemed to have different awareness of hotel policies leading us to believe training is inadequate
I liked everything about this place. It's very clean, the location is just across the road from the beach and the staff were all very nice.
Very friendly staff, licate one block away from a beatiful beach Valet parking fee 36 dollars
I like it when I received my car after 50 minutes so that I could get to my meeting. I liked it when I left the unapologetic staff who just shrugged when I wonder why my car hadn't arrived after I had properly followed their recommendation that I call 25 minutes early to get my car...it took 50. I liked it when I left the counter at check out after explaining that my linen STUNK of BLEACH . I COULD BARELY SLEEP THE STENCH OF BLEACH ON ALL OF THE LINEN WAS SO STRONG. I FOLLOWED THE RECOMMENDED PROCEDURE OF CALLING 25 MINUTES EARLY TO GET MY CAR AT CHECK OUT. IT TOOK 50 TO ARRIVE AND I ALMOST MISSED MY MEETING. THE ROOM WAS SMALL, OVER PRICED NO VANITY NOT EVEN A LUGGAGE RACK AND THOSE IRRITATING WIRE HANGGERS YOU CAN REMOVE WHEN YOU ARE TRYING TO HANG CLOTHES, IN THIS CASE WHILE WEDGED IN THE CORNER OF THIS TINY $500 ROOM. THE LOCATION WAS PROPOSED AS NORMALLY COSTING $1000 PER NIGHT. I ONLY CHOSE IT BECAUSE OF PROXIMITY TO A MEETING. THE LOBBY WAS EQYAL TO A POOR QUALITY HIGHWAY MOTEL.
My wife and I were able to celebrate our anniversary in warm sunny Miami. I booked the hotel on Kayak.com due to the good reviews and value. We were not disappointed. The room was very clean and decorated so well. The accommodations were outstanding. The Tavern restaurant was amazing, we ate there twice. The staff goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome. I'd reccomend this place to anyone wanting a great experience with close proximity to the beach. The thermostat didn't seem to work. We finally figured out that we had to continuously turn on the fan to cool the room because it was set to 80. maybe it's a Miami thing to have warm rooms but we're from Ohio where we keep our summer thermostat around 65.
Older hotel has been nicely renovated. Staff inattentive, service poor. Called for the car from valet, requesting to be notified when it was available. After waiting nearly an hour, went to front desk and discovered the car had been waiting for 20 minutes. Specifically asked at check-in if resort charge would be added to bill, and was told no, it was included in pre-paid reservation. In spite of this assurance, chage was added at check out. Front desk can not provide itemized charges on folio at check out, only give a total charge. Food in restaurant was OK, but service poor. Waited 10 minutes for coffee on Saturday morning, and were told our server was "in the bathroom". WAY more information than I needed. Used glasses in room were not replaced during our stay. Ovewrall, VERY dissapointing.
When I arrived at the hotel, I was advised my total had increased by about 100 because of $15 resort fees and taxes on top. I was not prepared to pay 15 because that is not what my reservation indicated. Vienna was nice enough to bring those fees down. So I got to take a dip in the pool and it was closed. I don't prefer beach water and I was really looking forward to the swim pool. On top of that, the carpeting in the room was the worst. I refused to even walk on the carpet barefoot. I mean awful.
the frightening lift like "Tower of Terror"where we had to jump to make it work!lolwith the scary PH floor peu fonctionnel et très mal asonorisé
I liked that it's on Collins Ave, yet not right in the heart of South Beach Elevators did not work majority of the time and hotel is very outdated.
The room was clean, towels and linens were perfectly clean, the bus from the Miami International Airport rides 200 m from the hotel, to the 42nd street. The hotel is on the 42nd and Collins which is far away from the main events of the South beach, to which you need 9USD for taxi to get there. The windows couldn't be opened ''for our safety and comfort''(!?), so the only way to get ''fresh'' air in the room was to use AC which is really really loud so you can't sleep (and no remote for AC as well). Staff charges 2USD per night per room for safety box which we didn't use (non-refundable), and 20 usd deposit per night per room which was returned after check-out. All in all, hotel is a bit expensive for its location and comfort, make sure to check all other offers before you book a room.
Fair price. Reasonably clean polite staff Fire alarm went off for 2 hours after midnight
nice room, good location, free Wifi in the room the bathroom floor never has been cleaned during the whole week we stayed there. We asked twice to repair the hairdryer but nobody fixed it so we couldn't use it during the whole week!
Location is great, right next to the beach, if that's a place you want to go. The bus stop in front of the hotel will easily take you out of Miami Beach, which is essential. Rooms were simple but comfy. Bathrooms could get renewed a.s.a.p. The hotel restaurant, in the basement, did not inspire any trust. Had to walk a couple of blocks, or take a bus, to find a reasonable place for breakfast.
Beautiful place Expensive parking, if you staying in the hotel the parking shouldn't be so expensive
For a hotel right on Miami Beach, the Riu was surprisingly quiet. The bathroom didn't really have a door, just a frosted glass window that didn't totally close. Even though it was just me and my wife, the lack of privacy was weird. The room was definitely a little grungy, and smelled musty.
Friendly great stuff, and located right on the beach. There is" Beach Walk Way ", that you can run, walk everyday, and free tea, coffee, water! Breakfast was great,a lot of selections of friuts,cheese,sausages,breads...and so. I stayed there with my 11 years old son. We loved it!
I like the beachfront area. The lobby was also okay The room is outdated and small. You feel gloomy when you enter the room. And our room was dusty and not cleaned. You can hear all outside sound when you are in the room.our where neighbors where very noisy and crowded that we had called the room services twice in the midnight and they talked to them but nothing changed. I will not come again to this hotel. The rooms are outdated and need to be changed.
It was a nice place to stay at. the staf was very nice and welcoming.
we cannot sleep 4 in 2 beds, the space in the room is very limited!
I absolutely loved the beach being right behind the hotel. It was wonderful to just relax on the beach. The staff was amazing, especially Oscar, he was so wonderful! The staff was great and very accommodating It was a bit pricy for the valet (38$) and the resort fee (20$) I didn't like how expensive it was for a drink. Like seriously 6$ for a soda?!?
loved everything about it the view walking distance from the beach happy hour great staff and helpful bathroom lighting was incredible
Our rooms were not available when we arrived. They had been sold. It was late at night. We waited over a half an hour before we were even acknowledged. We had to insist on rebooking us to an equivalent hotel. The process was a disaster and caused us to stay up until almost 2:30 AM. We had to negotiate with the new hotel at check out, to avoid additional charges. Hilton finally covered the expense.
The hotel looked like it had recently been renovated and everything was fresh and modern. The bedding and pillows were very comfortable and the bath towels were soft and nice and large. It was very nice being right on the beach. Oscar and Lesmar at the beach were very friendly & attentive. I had a long wait to check in, only 1 person doing check-in. The resort fee of $20 per day didn't include umbrella at the beach; and the fee is even added on for check out day when you have to be out by noon. Drinks were so expensive and not even very good. Also expensive valet per day charge.
Liked the beach, beach chairs. Having to pay a resort fee on top of expensive room rates. Having to pay $19.00 for an umbrella. Did not clean one of the rooms one day. Asked for extra towels, did not get them. Drinks were expensive & could not taste the alcohol. Buffet breakfast expensive $25.00
Really chic rooms, almost like a W. Helpful front desk staff. Great restaurant. Generally cool and stylish design (unlike most other Hilton). Outside the front desk and the beach staff, service is a total mess. We couldn't get soap in our bathroom after calling twice, staff in restaurant forgets orders and is not attentive.
Brand new hotel. Beautiful views from the balcony. Great beach. Valet damaged my brand new camaro. Management was indifferent. They didn't believe that it was the valet because I had driven away after checkout.(valet had the door opened as I approached the car after checking out and they closed it when I got in) About five mins later I pulled over to get something out of my trunk and saw that the driver side door had been badly scratched. I immediately returned to the hotel and filled out paperwork to file a claim. Management was supposed to contact me after reviewing the camaras...and I've heard nothing. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone...sorry but I would expect a hotel like this to treat their patrons better.
Great location, we had direct access to the beach. The staff was excellent, specifically Ricky he was a great help. Overall great hotel I would definitely recommend it to anyone.
beautiful accomodations and location We arrived at 3:25 PM with check in time 3PM and they did not have our suite available to us until after 5 PM. The manager was not very helpful in resolving things to my satisfaction, no free drinks, meal, or taking anything off our paid price.
The Ocean view The hotel was not clean ,Service was very bad , Old and does not deserve four stars .
The beach and the pool area. Door to balcony did not function. Old fashion style in rooms (70 - 80th). Easy to understand that the rooms are mostely used as apartments with a lot of personal stuff inside locked doors.
the Hotel position, its staff, the accomodation
Good location next to the beach. Very friendly staff (Mr Eddy) Old rooms. Ongoing renovation of terraces and some interior. Internet costy as well as any extra.
The building, while being almost 50 years old, was updated and had lots of charm. The suite was roomy and well laid out. The bed was quite comfortable. The kitchen was nice and usable. Great dining area and decent view of the ocean and bay. The valet and porter service was excellent. During high season when fully staffed this could be a nice choice. We found it very quiet in mid September. The balcony area and windows were filthy and took 3 complaints to get the area cleaned and then was not none as well as expected. The water fall at the dining area, while a focal point of the hotel's promotional material, never functioned while we were there.
I like that the rooms were very spacious & the views were awesome. Location was perfect. The beach was only a step away and the pools were amazing. The room wasn't that clean - there were stains on the sheets. Also we turned all the lights out in the room before we went to bed. Upon getting up in the middle of the night, I went to get something to drink out of the kitchen when I turned the lights on there was roaches every where. Complain to management but nothing was done
Nothing. The stay was awful, this is the only time ive been dissapointed on my bookings. The pictures look way better than the actual place. The furniture is old and the carpets are dirty. The couple of people at the reception were very rude, and i got charged some service fees and the bar fees which i did not even use. I ended up being charged an extra $100 dollars in resort fees and the extra bar fees which they took off and did not even apologize for charging me instead of some other person that stayed at the hotel. They were rude and were arguatitive. Im never staying there again, and i wish they gave me a refund on the service resort charges. Thank you booking.com for sending me a survey. I wish i could get some kind of refund back on my card.
the room and the location
Big suites The Hotel room Doors lockers are very old ... Always find trouble opening doors in the hotel
The balcony view and the pool I found that a lot of things in the room were broken or malfunctioning (lights, TV etc) Also the WIFI drifted in and out, so I was having to log back in each time it happened (usually every 5 mins or so)
Location, staff and suite Construction noise was next to our suite, very disturbing...
