Amazing price value given the size of the room . perfect for our family of 4 (1 sofa bed , one double bed) . Easy to park if you come with your car, otherwise free shuttle service to various subway stations. Super cool rooftop terrace with amazing view on manhattan . Williamsburg is so much cooler and so much more relaxed than manhattan and with our car we were in 20mins in downtown manhattan (on the weekend ;-)

Pros: Had a surprise stay in NYC for the night (read...our flight was canceled) and ended up landing at the Henry Norman. We could not have had a more gracious welcome and after spending the entire day at LGA waiting for a flight, it was certainly appreciated. Ronnie at the front desk was helpful with getting us checked in and acclimated, as well as offering several recommendations of restaurants that stayed open late (it was nearly 10pm). We then lucked out and had a complimentary ride with the hotel's driver, John, who took us to a phenomenal brick-oven pizza spot, Pauli Gee's (because when in Brooklyn you really should have pizza). The next morning Ronnie confirmed our choice for breakfast (Syrena Bakery) which was an easy walk down the road and was simply amazing...Polish bakery extraordinaire...don't leave without some bagels to take home! We stopped in a small cafe for a coffee and had a stroll through the nearby park on our way back to the hotel before checking out. The room was impeccable and we wished we could have spent more time enjoying the hotel and the surrounding neighborhood. All in all, it was a wonderful "mini-stay" in Brooklyn. Lemons into lemonade ;-)

Cons: We loved everything. A pity that they don’t actively use the rooftop terrace , it would have been wonderful to do yoga there or have a drink in the evening. The fitness room is shamefully put into a small windowless room in the basement, this could be better.

Cons: The only small downside was the location on the N Henry St side of the building is opposite a coach depot and the reversing beepers could be heard at all hours! Apart from that, the soundproofing was good. A mirror in the bedroom above a desk or table would have been really useful, but this is a minor point.

Pros: The decor, the size of the room, the bathroom and the Manhattan view. The beds were comfortable. It is very close to Manhattan Avenue and Long Island city. Highly recommend going over to Long Island city to take in the views of the city and if you have children, there is a great park there. You can also pick up a ferry if you don’t want to ride the subway. We were left a lovely cheesecake and bottle of red wine for our 10th wedding anniversary which was lovely.

Cons: On check in the lady who checked us in was not very welcoming or friendly. However, we experienced better customer service off the other members of staff. Other than that everything was great.

Cons: I was told there was a kitchenette but there was only a micro fridge. I would have preferred to cook but there was no range or even a microwave. I’m sure it was an assumption. One other note is when I checked in there was a wedding party here as well. The staff seemed a bit frazzled and didn’t tell me anything just gave me the key and walked away. One gentleman employee came up to apologize a hour or so later. It was nice that he acknowledged us.

Yes, there is a cafe, a couple of small places to have lunch but really not much more unless you are willing to walk for 20-30 min. I did't find this part of Brooklyn interesting or charming. Just an average residential area. This hotel may be good as your base for exploring NYC and vicinity. Unlikely to get this amount of space and a full kitchen in Manhattan for a comparable price.

Cons: There was a false fire alarm due to a problem with the hotel alarm in the middle of the night between Sat 29 and Sunday 30.6. Alarms went off at full volume at 1:30 and again at 2:15AM after the fire department had been at the premises. This can happen, but the hotel did not offer any refund or discount to us for that night, which was largely spent sleepless due to this incident. This was very disappointing.

Cons: Shared bathrooms and no mirrors in the rooms are slight (but expected) downsides, though the ladies' room was clean and the showers worked well. Right after I arrived an employee made her way through the halls spraying air freshener will-nilly, so the place reeked of fake flowers for a while, but luckily that faded.
