Pros: Staff were extremely helpful. I was in an 8-bed dormitory, and there was plenty of room.
Breakfast was basic but did the job...cereal and toast, coffee/tea and cordial.
Never seemed to be too noisy to sleep.

Pros: Very busy place with lots of rooms and spacious common areas / workstations / pool / basketball court. Front desk staff is very international and very friendly. Most things are free but require a deposit just to make sure that the items are returned. This is for dishes, towels, keys, lockers, etc. The West End area is great for restaurants and cafes.

Pros: Excellent location, just a short, pleasant walk (across a park and residential streets) from the Wheel of Brisbane and surrounding area, and the river, cafes etc on the South Bank. Oportunities to talk with people from different parts of the world at breakfast. Walking distance from the local station. Able to check in early afternoon & go straight to our room. Able to make tea in the room.

Cons: They had a separate area for smokers, but when the wind blew in the wrong direction, you could smell it while eating.

Cons: Just luck of the draw that I was in a room with three long-term 'residents' who were very messy. The room had a nice private little balcony which was strewn with rubbish, cigarette butts, etc. Not the fault of the hostel, but just be aware of the slobbish long-term residents!

Cons: One of the beds wasn't made up, you need to get a blanket (for a deposit only) mine had a duvet, though, which was fine. Not a problem for us, just to be aware of if you're arriving late on.
