nice place but ridiculously slow and expensive internet - when are they going to include free, broadband wireless? nice place but ridiculously slow and expensive internet - when are they going to include free, broadband wireless?
Price of internet at 256 speed or 512 speed is outragous! the free service is of 64 kbt !
the service was excelent
location, great breakfast buffet, excellent low priced offer, young abd friendly straff
Beatiful neighborhood, but not centrally located. Terrible service: backed up toilets, broken air conditioner, no towels at pool, etc. We were not the only ones to have this experience. This is a nice facility with poor management.
Modern hotel, in upmarket, safe, area of S.P. Twenty-plus floors with good gym and pool on the roof. Good facilities in room and balcony (only up to tenth floor). Powerful shower, comfy bed, good breakfast with short-order cook on eggs, waffles and pancakes. Plenty of bars and restaurants in walking distance. This could just be me, but I got more mossie bits in one night at the hotel than in the 10 previous days all round Sao Paulo and Rio states...despite my "jungle strength" spray! Beware!
They only have internet at 64K. If you want more bandwidht you have to pay R$30 per day for 512K.
Location, friendliness of local staff, ositive general atmosphere. There should be more brochures, magazines, books on tourism attractions and what to do in Sao Paulo. There were none available in rooms or lobby. Staff should be better informed of addresses (restaurants, coiffeurs, etc).
Clean hotel with good facilities Expensive, with charges for everything. Local calls were very expensive. I was charged more than $50 for a few local phone calls. Most expensive I have seen across the globe.
staff tried hard and location good pretty worn out. not 5 star facility as advertised.
This is a modern, international hotel with english-speaking staff. Our room was spacious although the toilet/shower area was quite small. Breakfast was very good with superb fresh fruit and a mix of cold and hot meats etc. Staff were invariably helpful. We found that there wasn't enough storage space in the room. We were, however, in the hotel for 7 nights so we came with quite a lot to store.
Basic facilities, clean, location, friendliness of staff. Positive general atmosphere. Expensive internet service. No many informations about attractions and what to do in Sao Paulo.
Roof top swimming pool and view from roof top.
location in Jardim Air Condition to low
location , room size , beds very confortable only the bathroom was very small .
Service was excellent and friendly, good location for visiting Sao Paolo
Despite having do not disturb on the Room Door - woken by Room Service who responded to the wrong room. Complained but no apology forthcoming.
Was happy with room, room service, and especially hotel gym.
The bathrooms are great. Best shower. Great location for business and airports. Price should be more competitive. It is expensive.
Practical hotel for business. They charge you for all the extra's: early check in, gym, water, internet... There is nothing to do in the neighborhood you need to take a taxi for everything.
all of them check in saying long
very nice hotel in a good location for business travelers with meetings in Sao Paulo. excellent staff, rooms, bathrooms, breakfast.
the view is stunning I was not amused when the room that I had booked for 220 Reais through Booking.com was all of a sudden 298 reais.Further the internet charges are 30 Reais a day (around 11 euro) which is ridiculous - should come free.
the service... the food.... the security.... the location...the people they personally knew me by Mr _______ do not pass this hotel up i will never anywhere else nothing i did not like
Hotel is based in a charming old building of some sort. They weren't able to locate my Kayak reservation without the full confirmation, so fortunately I had brought that along. I was surprised that the included wi-fi was so bad although it worked better towards the front side of the room. Breakfast was nice with good service. Used their taxi into GRU which was professional and reasonable.
The location was good, facilities were clean. The internet connection was unreliable at best and generally nonexistent. It was slow during the day (speedtest.net about 2-3mb/s) but wouldn't work at all during the evenings. The hotel felt tired and in need of a facelift.
Close to where I needed to be, and close to the central avenue for shopping
The bed was huge for Brazilian beds. Very comfortable. Good location (1 block from av. Paulista, and close to metro, MASP...). Staff is very helpfull and attentive. The food. We ordered roomservice: chicken soup and pasta. The chicken soup had no taste, despite the fact you could see it was done with fresh vegetables. The pasta was cold and nothing special. Just a bunch of cream with strong flavour of lemon. It was also quite expensive. The breakfast was also on the poor side. Lots of people and small sizes portions of everything. Staff couldn't manage the quick pace in refilling the buffet. Also you have to wait till they breng coffie to you. You took too long! (specially if you wanted a second round...). Main guests are business people.
Best Hotel I have ever stayed in Brazil. Although it is expensive, the hotel offers you high quality. If you need a taxi, don't ask it to the reception and don't take the ones waiting in front of the hotel. The Black colored taxis are luxurious but charge you more money. Take the usual white colored taxis.
Love Porto Bay Hotels and this is one was no exception. Fantastic Gym, Pool and Spa, Very helpful service and very nice breakfast. I will definitely be back!
Nice boutique hotel. Attentive service, clean. The Cab service provided to the airport was great, very comfortable and was reasonably priced ($R160). Very well located. Very comfortable bed The carpet was old and worn but I believe they were in fact changing the carpet during my stay. Had a crying baby throughout the 3 nights I was there, in the next room and the walls are very thin. I have a reasonable tolerance to that but others may not. I guess there is not much the hotel can do about that but I was surprised given that my perception was that this is a business hotel. Other than that nothing negative to say.
Love this hotel. I've stayed in three hotels in Sao Paulo and this is the one I'll be returning to. Such a lovely welcome. Great room and amazing breakfasts. The added and unexpected extras such as sparkling wine, chocolate and the japanese hot tub made the stay very special. Thank you to all the staff at L'Hotel Porto Bay.
Exquisite service and attention to detail! One of the best hotels regarding the service that I have ever stayed in - anywhere. Period! Two minor details. I was not aware that I have to pay extra for the cappucino that I was ordering every morning. The taxi service provided/associated with the hotel is even more expensive than the already expensive taxi service in SP. They should provide free taxi service/shuttle from-to the airport.
Guest service: Allow me to check in early and check out late without extra charges Location Peace and quite right off Avenida Paulista Close to most things you may want for pleasure and business The internet service is extremely slow, unstable (drops on an off). I had to find a virtual office elsewhere for a very important conference call. I had some other calls at the hotel where the client had to call me at the hotel and another one where they heard most but not all that I was saying. I called before booking the hotel and they told me they had made improvements 2 weeks ago. When I experienced problems and questioned the staff, they told me that they just added access points but no improvements were mad about speed (extremely slow), not could they control the stability of the internet (dropped connection). I should mention that even at the virtual office I had problems and had to make a call using international data roaming on my cell phone due to internet problems there too.
The staff were really friendly and always willing to help. I like the chinese jaccuzi, but remember, you have to call to reserve it, it takes time for it to heat up (free of charge). The pool and gym are bit too small but sufficient. The breakfast is good. I would definitely go back. While in SP, make sure to visit Skybar at hotel unique (the view and atmosphere is marvelous) Wished that the pool was an outside pool :)
Weekend(Sunday) room rate is high. This will become an issue for my next hotel choice if the same conditon(higher rate on Sunday) will remain.
nice hotel, comfortable room, convenient location no buffet breakfast included in rate, seperate charge of R$29.00, internet although free, only at a very very low 64k speed which is useless
the location is near to almost everything it doesn't have a disco to go at night and the area is somewhat risky at night
very nice modern style, well organized and operated well no buffet breakfast included in rate, seperate charge of R$26.00
The hotel is modern and up to international standards for a business hotel. The staff aim to please and are generally quite helpful The hotel is located in a poor neighbourhood. If you are there for a convention or business meetings you will probably not even notice but if you have plenty of leisure time on your hands the immediate area is very down at the heels. It gives the impression of being rather unsafe but I didn't experience any problems other than tripping over homeless people.
The staff could communicate effectively in English, which was a tremendous help to non-Brazilian Portuguese speaking guests like me. The location is central to the city. Housekeeping cannot be reached at certain hours (for example, between 7-9 pm in the evenings). The calls to this department will go unanswered. Some of the towels are not inspected for quality checks and they are stained from use. I encourage the hotel to conduct thorough checks and discard those whose stains cannot be removed from normal laundry washes.
Nice people, clean room, good location for business (sao paulo downtown) Rooms a bit too noisy, no indication of the hotel's name
Convenient location. Fair price. Flexibility with check out. Staff.
People on the reception desk accepted to deliver a room ahead on schedule. The bathroom needed to be renewed.
The room was clean and pleasant and comfortable. The location was very good and the staff was very helpful. The room was chilly and the aircon could not be adjusted. The hot water was not very hot, as a result one had to shower very quickly. Some of the kitchen staff could not speak English, which made communication very difficult.
Todo me agrado. El hotel esta muy bien cituado y ofrece confort y comodidad. Muy buena relación pago/servició. La calidad de la comida en el restaurante. No es la mas mala. Pero podrían mejorar mucho mas.
Very helpfull staff,good breakfast
Breakfast is ok and the fitness centre is good The rooms are average for a 3-star hotel...; if you are thinking on a 4-star one, then Pestana is not up for it.
Big rooms I arrived around 8 am morning time and they will not give u a room before 12 am even if while waiting many people made their check out.
Cleanliness, location, services, facilities, good food and a friendly staff.
The Hotel and Staff were efficient and cordial The location was fairly good. I liked the fact that you could control all the amenities in the Room from a Remote. It was practical and environmentally friendly. The Desk Area is perfect for Business Travellers. I didn't quite enjoy the Water Closet and the Toilet facilities. I do understand that Brazil wants to be environmentally friendly but when it becomes difficult to flush down Toilet Paper, then one has to blame the Manufacturer.
Good money for value hotel. Very central location. Nice staff
clean rooms, good location for business purposes, good breakfast, helpful staff, good value wireless only in lobby
the room was spacious, good location
the receptionist speaks fluent english and is very helpfull . The location is perfect, only 5 minutes walk to Av.Paulista . The hotelrooms are large and clean. The restaurant is very good. we were in the hotel during the winter and the breakfast room inside is not large enough for all guests, so we had to sit outside in the garden, which was cold and not comfortable.
They had an English speaking staff member who was very helpful!! The location was very convenient, a few blocks from Metro and MASP museum. Nice neighborhood restaurants also including Subway and Domino's Pizza all within walking distance. The room was very clean, roomy, had cable TV, the bed pretty comfortable, had a desk area, overall very nice for the price, would stay again!!! Also the breakfast buffet was very good and plenty to eat! No complaints at all!
it is close to paulista ave. and the area were is located is nice. very old hotel, carpets and deco old. room was not so clean, but it was larger than i espected.
Very well situated. Excellent price.
The way the room has been designed, the efficiency of the staff The breakfast (though offering plenty of options) could be a little bit better in terms of quality.
Location is very good i arrived at midnigth and the buffet service never answer the call to service to my room..., on another hand they didnt wake me up at the last moring and i needed to run to the airport...,
Liked the service provided by the reception and very accomodating.Good Location. N/A
Room with fair square footage and comfortable bed Room wasn't neat Bed poorly made Room had a rugged carpet Bad shampoo No golf channel
The fitnees center, restaurant and service.
Awesome view from Estaiada Bridge in São Paulo and location. Staff always kind. Recommended!
Excellent location, and very customer friendly staff. Breakfast was a bit poor for the price they charge.
Outstanding location. Great stuff. Nice room. The wall paper should be changed
The location and access to public transportation.
The Hotel exceeded my expectations, with the very helpful and nice bellman to the staff behind the desk.
I stayed one night on my arrival in S.P. and another on my departure. It is a great hotel, staff speaks good english, courteous, and helpfull. The rooms aren't the largest I ever stayed, but for Sao Paulo standarts is pretty good. Modern, nicely appointed. The location couldn't be better, 3 blocks from MASP and Trianon Park. Breakfast included was great, all kind of breads, pastries, juices, cold cuts, fruits, yougurt, coffee, tea, milk, cakes, eggs, bacon and more...
You have the best restaurant, with exceptional selection and quality.
Food, accommodations, and staff were excellent!
That hotel was good. The room was nice, and the sheets were so clean. The stuff was very kind. That place was not convenient to go to other spot. .
service is good, the location is very conveninent
Good location. One person at the front desk to take care of all the guests.
Friendly staff. Good location. Good shower. Dirty carpets in the corridor and in the room. Also curtains were dirty.
We loved the bed and the shower. Breakfast was delicious.
The location near the centre of banking and commercial companies was excellent. Also it is only a short walk to a very large shopping complex, and nearby streets have a good range of restaurants. Large modern room. Very good buffet breakfast. Helpful staff.
Hotel is very good, new and well located.
Quality of the room, facilities, bed, cleanness Swimming pool
nothing to be mentioned the room is big but not nice. the localization is in a very busy area and the window's view isn't good. it's also noisy. it's too noisy to have the windows opened.
Breakfast - slow to refill
best hotel that I have stayed in Sao Paolo!!
The staff of this Hotel, the name Mr. Mauricio was very bad attending about my comments regarding the wake up call. I'm really afraid about his attention.I will update this information in Japanese Committee to take care when they use this Hotel.
Very well located, just one block from Paulista Av. and in Jardins area. Efficient and helpful staff (except loudy housekepers!). I recommend!
Free Internet, total safety, breakfast, room service, big room and confortable bed. 1.- I called maintenance technicians to put the video channel for my camera. They came and did not know how to solve the problem. I am still waiting for them!!! 2.- Too strict with check out time. I had to pay half a daily rate for a few more hours after being one week in the hotel. 3.- They do not accept any Frequent Traveller card as they do in other countries.
Good location, attentive staff. Pillows and mattress very hard. Hallways need an update, carpet frayed.
Excellent location close to beach. Many nice restaurants within walking distance. Staff were friendly and efficient. Free wired internet in rooms was fast. Rather old rooms, and a little noise from the street.
The hotel served our purpose very well. The location was perfect for our needs. There are several restaurants near by, the neighborhood is safe, the staff is very friendly and helpful. There is a little coffee shop in the lobby that had great coffe and wonderful desserts. I thought there was a jacuzzi at the hotel, that was in the website and there were signs indicating that there was, but they removed it over 5 years ago according to the staff.
Placement and accessibility non
The location. The service.
Breakfast and position No
Very pleasant hotel & well located. Rooms smallish but everything you need. I would probably choose to stay there again. All the extra taxes etc which came on top of the price I was quoted or on the price for a meal in the restaurant.
I go to the hotel a lot and sometimes I check in late. It would be nice that when i request a simple upgrade, the hotel would accomodate with this. I have asked many times and I have been denied many times. Other than that, the hotel is great (Tryp Paulista) and the other hotels of yours I have stayed at also.
Nice room and good staff service The gym wasnt big enough
Staff was professional, and did not charge me for an overnight guest as many other hotels in Brazil do. The elevator is a little slow, and the free Internet is now only for 20 minutes -- but the Internet fee is stil extremely reasonable.
mattress, and gym equipment
I have stayed at the GTPP many times, and love it. The staff is friendly and efficient and the rooms are clean and modern. Some of the cable channels have static, the signal is not clear. That's the only thing I can complain about.
The location and breakfast. Services make no difference between tourists and business people. The previous user of the room left a bunch of hair on the bath tube wall. I did not wash it out and left it there. The hair was still there 8 days later when I left. I asked for a flat iron 3 times and finally got one on the 3rd day. But what was really anoying was the letter received in the middle of the week asking me to go down and pay my bill up to that point. The clerk has a a story to tell you that goes like this: "our system automatically issues this letter everytime a room bill reaches 1000 reais (about 500 dollars). We have no control o n the system and this partial payment is optional...bla bla bla". Since he said it was optional I asked to pay the entire bill at the last day. Well, the clerk did not allow me to leave without paying. My access to the room would not be renewed if I didn't. I then asked them to tell me why they do not inform this specific rule on the web site or when a guest checks in. They did not answer that question. I encouraged them to be honest and transparent with their guest and inform this rule right from the first day and on the reservation page.
location in the center of Jardin. Staff friendliness (though they offered a taxi to airport which was too expensive). I was worried by some reviews about the hotel being sub-standard. It is certainly not very luxorious, but for the money you pay, it is good for one or two nights.
Room Condition and Buffet Breakfast Some Hotel Staff don´t speak english or spanish
The check out time, which incidentally they presented me with the check out bill 3 days before my reservation and I was leaving that day because myself and my nephew did not sleep for 2 nights we stay there as the amount of noise, banging, screaming and other items ( I guess building is poorly built as it transfers noise more than usual, even with the type of " heavy use" by call girls and other heavy users. The hotel is really a " business" hotel whereas it is a headquarters for call girls to meet and do business with clients. The room I was in ( not only me but my nephew could not sleep even after I took 2 prescription sleeping pills!) was very noise as well as you would hear as if it was in the same room, beds banging, screaming, water running down and flushing and so on. I did complaint to front desk ( Ms. Gabriela on duty ) and she said on the first day they had other complaints but room next door had left. Unfortunately, that was not the only case! The only thing I require when using a business hotel is a good bed and clean room! This was a disgrace!
A nice hotel with a very willing staff, though I sometimes wondered about their training--a couple of mix-ups regarding my check-out, checking minibar just after I arrived and then 2 times the next day. Very good breakfast incl. Good advice about free shuttles to restaurants. Jardins is a good area, but not really close to much. Several restaurants nearby, though, one 24/7 with buffet. Has spa, pool. Your rate was good, but everything else there is expensive. Internet cards are quite expensive.
Great value for the $$.
Conveniently located near Paulista Avenue in a safe and nice neighbourhood. Friendly reception staff, clean spacious rooms. A lot of noise coming in the room from the hall ways and the neighbour rooms. Because a lot of airline crew is staying in this hotel, it is noisy night and day. Will not stay again in the hotel for this reason.
Very close to Expocenter 10 min. walk also very close to a good shopping center and big supermarket Staff are not so friendly and hotel location is very far from most of the attraction sites and the city.
No free wireless connection
Close to the Exhibition Centres The area around
Breakfast not included was disappointing
Close and convenient to bus station. Possible to walk, but with heavy bags, we took at taxi for R$8.
The hotel is just a 15-20 min taxi ride from the airport. Room was big and comfortable. We stayed for 1 nigth as a stop-over. Wifi not for free and breakfast not included
Proximity to a shopping complex Poor concierge
Good service at check in and in restaurant and good music
By local standards this is a good hotel. Very convenient to the Expo Centre but far away from most other places of interest. Friendly, helpful staff. The rooms were a little tired and could do with an update.
Optimum Location for bussines, near a expocenter norte pavilion
